Abstract

The invention makes it possible to fill an arrangement of moulds (1) with precisely the same quantities of thickened milk. Feeding means (3, 4) guide the thickened milk to a distributing container (6) which is provided with an equalising device (17), has apertures (11) on its floor (10) and is arranged above watertight moulding chambers which are combined in a block (13). After the moulding chambers have been filled and equalisation has taken place in a plurality of operating stages, displacement of a locking plate (16) makes it possible for the contents of each chamber to be transferred into the corresponding mould (1) under the force of gravity. The function of filling the moulds can be carried out using large-capacity vats or tanks.
