Abstract

The subject of the further development is a circular knitting machine, by means of which pile fabrics or pile-like knitted fabrics are to be produced. The production of knitted fabrics of this type conventionally takes place by the formation of a mesh-like ground fabric (11), to which are fed, via cards (9), fibres which are fed to the needles (5) and oriented by means of compressed air supplied by compressed-air nozzles. In order to provide such knitted fabrics on their inside with thread loops (12) consisting of individual fibres previously inserted, provision is made for orienting the fibres, after their insertion into the ground fabric (11), upwards via a first suction-air nozzle (4) and for feeding them to the needle ends over a guide (7) by means of a second suction-air nozzle (6), so as to form, with their cooperation, thread loops which consist of the individual fibres and which are located on the inner face of the fabric. The subject of the invention is therefore the process for producing these thread loops and the constructive means and the products produced by the process.
