Abstract

Device for feeding a strip of adhesive tape in a carton closing machine, which applies the strip to the sides of the carton and comprises two vertical synchronised pairs of levers which are capable of swivelling, on whose free ends are seated freely rotating rollers which press the strip against the carton, with a separating means (3) and two rotatable rollers (1, 2), for conveying the adhesive strip (9), of which one is driven, and with a guiding means (23) for the adhesive strip, and a moistening means (30). The driven roller has a convex surface line and the other roller has a concave surface line, the former being pivotably mounted and in contact with the gummed side (9a) of the strip. The guiding means have a first area of C-shaped cross-section with ends in the form of hooks, and a second, flat area which is situated in the moistening zone.
