Definitions
- the present invention relates to a sanitary fitting and its fastening system.
- the invention relates to a fitting design in which a connecting piece can be inserted from a free end into a fitting body to ensure secure attachment to a mounting surface.
- the valve body is often assembled from several parts that are fixed by screws or other mechanical connections. These connections are often accessible from the outside, which facilitates assembly and disassembly, but also means that the screws remain visible. This can not only detract from the visual appearance of the valve, but also increase the risk of corrosion and mechanical wear. Furthermore, the assembly of multiple components can lead to a This leads to increased complexity and a greater need for time, which in turn increases production costs and the likelihood of errors.
- the object of the present invention is to provide a sanitary fitting that overcomes one or more of the disadvantages of the known systems.
- a sanitary fitting comprising a fitting body with a free end and a connection end.
- the connection end is positioned against a mounting surface, while a water outlet is located towards the free end.
- the fitting body is a single piece, resulting in a seamless and aesthetically pleasing surface without visible screws.
- a connector can be inserted into the fitting body from the free end and is provided with at least one thread.
- An internal stop at the connection end of the fitting body allows the fitting body to be pulled against the mounting surface by tightening a threaded connection that engages the thread.
- One advantage of this design is simplified installation, as the connector is inserted from the front, which facilitates assembly and increases the structural integrity of the fitting.
- Another advantage is the improved stability and strength of the fitting due to its one-piece construction. Design of the valve body and the possibility of securely fixing the valve to the mounting surface.
- the sanitary fitting is designed such that the fitting body has a cylindrical shape.
- the term "cylindrical” refers to a geometric shape defined by a base and a top surface, which is in particular circular, elliptical, or similar, with the side surface of the cylinder being formed by a straight line between the two surfaces.
- the cylindrical shape facilitates manufacturing and assembly because it offers a standardized and symmetrical geometry that is well-suited for automated manufacturing processes. Furthermore, the cylindrical shape contributes to an aesthetically pleasing and modern appearance that blends seamlessly into various bathroom and kitchen environments.
- the stop acts as a limiting element within the valve body, ensuring that the connector is held in the correct position during installation. This prevents the connector from being inserted too far into the valve body, which could lead to improper installation or damage to the valve.
- the stop thus forms a kind of undercut.
- the connector is specifically the element to which a building water supply is connected and which also serves to mount the sanitary fitting, for example, on a wall or a sink.
- the sanitary fitting is designed such that the stop is formed as a single unit with the fitting body.
- the stop is not manufactured as a separate component and then joined to the fitting body, but rather that both components consist of a single piece of material, thus simplifying manufacturing, as fewer individual parts need to be produced and assembled.
- the one-piece construction can also offer hygienic advantages. Since there are no joints or crevices where dirt or bacteria could accumulate, the fitting is easier to clean and maintain. This is particularly beneficial in environments with high demand. Important in areas where high hygiene standards must be maintained, such as in hospitals or public sanitary facilities.
- the stop is designed as a separate component, for example, a ring, which is bonded to the fitting body, particularly by a material bond.
- material bond means that the connection between the stop and the fitting body is made by a process in which the two parts are permanently joined, such as by welding, soldering, or gluing.
- the stop can be made of a material with specific properties, such as higher hardness or corrosion resistance, which improves the durability and reliability of the fitting.
- the separate manufacturing and subsequent joining of the stop can simplify the production and assembly of the fitting, as the fitting body and the stop can be produced independently and then joined together. This can reduce production costs and increase flexibility in the manufacturing process.
- the sanitary fitting is designed such that a thread is formed as an external thread on the outer circumference of the connector.
- This external thread allows for the easy attachment of another component to the connector.
- the component which has another thread, for example, a rosette as described below, forms a threaded connection together with the external thread of the connector.
- the connector is therefore not screwed directly to the fitting body. Instead, the connector is pulled against a stop located inside the fitting body by the threaded connection, which engages the external thread. This causes the fitting body to be pulled against a contact surface, such as the rosette or a wall surface.
- One advantage is the increased stability and strength of the connection, since the connector is pulled firmly against the stop in the fitting body, ensuring a stable and, if necessary, leak-proof connection.
- Another advantage is the simplified installation, as the connector is inserted into the fitting body from its free end.
- the threaded connection which protrudes beyond the valve body at the connection end, is easily accessible from the outside. This allows for quick and easy installation of the valve.
- the design contributes to the valve maintaining a slim and aesthetically pleasing form, as no additional external fasteners are visible.
- an internal thread that can be screwed onto the external thread is formed by a rosette, whose axial end face constitutes the contact surface.
- the rosette serves as both an aesthetic and functional element of the sanitary fitting.
- the rosette enables simple and secure attachment of the fitting to the contact surface.
- the axial end face of the rosette forms the contact surface, which is in direct contact with the end face of the fitting body, thus ensuring even pressure distribution and a secure fit.
- the rosette provides an aesthetically pleasing cover for the mounting elements and ensures a clean and aesthetically pleasing appearance of the fitting.
- the rosette also facilitates the installation and removal of the fitting, as it can simply be screwed onto the external thread without the need for additional tools.
- the sanitary fitting, including the rosette can then be mounted as a whole on a wall or sink.
- the thread is designed as an internal thread.
- the internal thread is located inside the connector on the connection-side end face of the connector and allows for an alternative or additional connection option.
- the connector is not screwed directly to the fitting body. Instead, the connector is indirectly connected to the fitting body by means of another component, such as a threaded stud.
- This threaded stud engages in the internal thread of the connector and pulls the connector against the stop at the connection-side end of the fitting body, thus pressing the fitting body with its connection-side end against, for example, a wall or other fixture.
- the fitting is installed on a surface designed for the washbasin. Therefore, no escutcheon is required.
- the internal thread thus offers greater adaptability and facilitates the integration of the fitting into different installation environments.
- a threaded stud can be screwed into the internal thread, allowing the fitting body to be pulled against the mounting surface via the connector.
- the threaded stud serves as a specific connecting element that firmly pulls the fitting body against the mounting surface, with the stud being secured, for example, on the back side of the mounting surface. This type of fastening enables simple and precise installation of the fitting, as the threaded stud exerts a controlled and uniform tightening force.
- the additional internal thread and threaded stud can also be used to attach the sanitary fitting to a wall or sink if the fitting body is already pre-assembled with the rosette.
- the sanitary fitting is equipped with an internally hollow threaded rod that allows water to flow through this rod into the connection piece.
- This design offers an innovative solution for water routing within the fitting.
- the hollow threaded rod functions not only as a mechanical connecting element but also as an integral part of the water routing system. By integrating the water routing into the threaded rod, the need for additional components for water supply is reduced, resulting in a simplified design and a slimmer profile for the fitting.
- the functionality of the fitting is enhanced by integrating a water connection into the connector.
- the water connection allows for a direct connection to a building water source, simplifying the installation of the fitting and reducing the need for additional connecting elements.
- a building water pipe can be inserted into the water connection, or to be screwed in, with the water connection being connected to the fitting-side water pipe that leads to the water outlet.
- connection-side end of the fitting body and the connecting piece are designed to align the sanitary fitting at an angle to the mounting surface.
- the connecting piece and the fitting body form, for example, a kind of miter joint, so that the cylindrical fitting body is oriented with its longitudinal axis at an angle to the mounting surface.
- This specific design allows for improved adaptability of the fitting to various mounting surfaces and angles, which is particularly advantageous when installing it on a horizontally oriented surface, such as the surface of a washbasin.
- the angled orientation allows the fitting to be mounted precisely and stably, while the water outlet is positioned above the washbasin.
- the connector is made of zinc.
- Zinc as a material for the connector offers high corrosion resistance, which is particularly advantageous in damp environments, such as those frequently found in sanitary applications.
- the water pipe is made of plastic.
- the water pipe is thus implemented using a component made of plastic.
- Plastic as a material for the water pipe. It offers high corrosion resistance.
- plastic is a lightweight material, which facilitates handling and installation of the water pipe.
- the water pipe is inserted into the connector.
- the connector which is inserted into the fitting body from its free end, particularly when connected to the water pipe, enables a simple and secure connection between the water pipe and the fitting.
- This configuration significantly simplifies the installation process, as the water pipe only needs to be inserted into the connector instead of using complex screw connections. This reduces installation time and minimizes the risk of installation errors that could lead to leaks.
- the push-fit connection contributes to the stability and reliability of the fitting, as the water pipe is firmly anchored in the connector, thus ensuring a permanent and secure connection.
- the one-piece construction of the fitting body combined with the ability to insert the connector together with the component forming the water pipe from one end, also allows for a compact and slim design of the fitting.
- the internal stop thus indirectly determines the precise position of the water pipe inserted into the connector within the fitting body.
- the sanitary fitting comprises a water pipe and a connector, which are joined together by means of a snap connection.
- a snap connection is a mechanism in which two components are connected by snapping them together without the need for additional tools or fasteners. This connection technology allows for quick and easy assembly of the water pipe and connector, which significantly simplifies and speeds up the installation process.
- the use of a snap connection eliminates the need for screws or other fasteners, which not only reduces assembly time but also minimizes the risk of leaks, as the connection snaps firmly and securely into place.
- a component forming the water conduit is dimensioned, at least in certain areas and particularly in the area of the water outlet, such that its radial outer surface rests against an inner surface of the fitting body.
- This specific dimensioning and arrangement of the component within the fitting body enables improved stability of the water flow within the fitting body. Furthermore, this design contributes to ensuring that the water conduit is held securely and stably within the fitting, thus extending the fitting's service life.
- the valve body for the water outlet has a first recess through which a spout is inserted from the outside.
- the spout is a component of the sanitary fitting that directs and controls the water flow at the outlet. It is inserted into the valve body from the outside through the first recess, which facilitates easy installation and maintenance. Inserting the spout through the first recess also secures the water pipe inside the valve body.
- the spout is inserted into the water pipe, in particular by screwing it in.
- the spout which is responsible for the water flow, is inserted directly into the water pipe or the component that carries the water pipe. Screwing the spout into the water pipe ensures a stable and precise positioning of the water pipe within the fitting body. Furthermore, the screw connection provides a firm and reliable fastening that remains secure even under high water pressure. After installation, the spout protrudes from the outer surface of the fitting body.
- the senor is movably arranged in the receptacle transversely to the longitudinal direction of the fitting body.
- the receptacle is therefore dimensioned relative to the sensor such that the sensor is movable.
- the sanitary fitting includes a sensor that can be fixed in the receptacle by means of a fixing element, in particular a screw. Fixing the sensor in the receptacle with a screw provides a reliable and stable attachment, ensuring that the sensor remains firmly in place.
- the sensor housing and the sensor are dimensioned such that the sensor, in a pre-assembled state, can be inserted into the fitting body from its free end, along with the component forming the water pipe.
- This specific dimensioning and arrangement of the components enables efficient and simplified assembly of the fitting, as both the sensor and the water pipe component can be inserted into the fitting body as a single unit, optionally together with the connecting piece.
- One advantage of this arrangement is the reduction in installation complexity, as fewer separate parts need to be handled.
- Another advantage is that the number of visible connecting elements on the outside of the fitting is minimized, resulting in a smoother and more hygienic appearance.
- the sanitary fitting is designed such that the sensor, from its pre-assembled state, is perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the
- the sensor can be slid into a second recess formed in the valve body.
- This specific design of the sensor and valve body allows for easy and precise sensor placement during assembly.
- the sensor can be held in a pre-assembled state, meaning it is already attached to the component forming the water pipe before being inserted into the valve. This reduces the complexity and time required for final assembly, as the sensor does not need to be positioned and secured separately.
- the vertical movement of the sensor into the second recess ensures that it is positioned exactly at the intended location within the valve body. This arrangement also minimizes the risk of misalignment or damage to the sensor during installation.
- the second recess in the valve body allows for stable and secure positioning of the component forming the water pipe, thereby improving the overall stability and durability of the valve.
- the senor is positioned in its final mounting position within a second recess in the fitting body, flush with the surface of the fitting body surrounding this second recess. Placing the sensor in this dedicated recess achieves seamless integration into the fitting body, which not only enhances the fitting's visual appearance but also reduces the potential for dirt accumulation.
- the flush mounting ensures that the sensor does not protrude, minimizing the risk of damage or accidental contact. This contributes to the fitting's durability and reliability. Furthermore, the ability to integrate the sensor flush creates an elegant and modern look for the fitting, allowing it to blend harmoniously into various bathroom designs.
- the sanitary fitting comprises a cap which is attached to the component forming the water line by means of a tool-free connection, in particular a snap-fit connection, for closing an opening on the end face of the free end of the fitting body.
- the cap serves to The opening at the free end of the valve body is covered, preventing dirt and foreign matter from entering the valve body after installation.
- a tool-free or snap-fit connection to secure the cap offers the advantage of quick and easy installation, as the cap can be attached without additional tools or complicated fastening methods.
- the cap also contributes to the aesthetic design of the valve by creating a seamless and smooth surface, enhancing its appearance while also facilitating cleaning. The absence of visible screws or fasteners minimizes the risk of dirt accumulation, resulting in a more hygienic surface.
- the connector has an axially extending recess on its circumference through which a cable leading to the sensor is arranged.
- This specific design allows for efficient and tidy routing of the cable within the sanitary fitting, which significantly simplifies installation.
- the axially extending recess ensures that the cable can be routed safely and securely without compromising the structural integrity of the connector or the fitting body.
