Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a rail fastening device for fastening guide rail sections in a guide rail system of an escalator or a moving walkway.
  • Such guide rail systems support and guide the running elements along their endless path, with the aim of achieving the quietest and most vibration-free running of these running elements.
  • the guide rail systems also serve to guide the tread of the running elements, which are designed as steps, horizontally when running through the upper run, both in the horizontal and rising areas and in the transitions.
  • the guide rail sections can be separated from the side plate using a cutting machine, the amount of equipment and work required to weld the new guide rail sections on site would be considerable, so that assembly cannot be described as quick and cost-effective.
  • the synchronization of the running elements cannot be ensured to the required extent. This is because the side plate of the guide rail system is installed in the supporting structure of the escalator or moving walkway and the introduction of heat causes distortion in the structure. Due to the surrounding framework, this cannot be corrected by subsequent cold and hot straightening. In addition, for fire safety reasons, it is prohibited at many sites to carry out welding work on an existing escalator or moving walkway.
  • the EN 10 2018 213 647 A1 discloses a rail fastening device, the use of which eliminates the need to weld the guide rail sections, since it has a one-piece rail receiving part and two clamping screws.
  • the rail receiving part can be inserted through a hole in the side plate, starting from the back of a side plate of the escalator.
  • the rail fastening device which projects through the side plate, receives the guide rail arranged on the front of the side plate in its rail receiving area. By tightening the clamping screws, the guide rail is clamped against the front of the side plate, since by tightening the clamping screws, the guide rail is clamped between a nose of the rail receiving area and the side plate.
  • a rail fastening device can only be used if both sides of the side plate are accessible.
  • the object of the present invention is therefore to provide a rail fastening device for fastening guide rail sections, which enables precise and simple assembly on a side plate of a guide rail system, in particular at the place of use.
  • a rail fastening device for fastening guide rail sections in a guide rail system of an escalator or a moving walkway.
  • the guide rail system has at least one side plate with an opening, wherein the opening in its planar extension has a length that is greater than its width.
  • Planar extension refers to the dimensions of the opening extending in the side surface of the side plate. In other words, this is the cross-section of the opening defined by the length and width of the opening, which is preferably constant over the entire thickness of the side plate.
  • the rail fastening device has a rail receiving part, a screw connection and a clamping locking piece. These components can be brought from a pre-assembled state into a final assembled state. In the pre-assembled state, the clamping locking piece can be connected to the rail receiving part by means of the screw connection in such a way that the clamping locking piece can be pivoted relative to the rail receiving part about the central longitudinal axis of the screw.
  • the rail receiving part has a rail receiving area and a support surface.
  • the support surface rests against the side plate and the guide rail section is fixed in the rail receiving area.
  • the length and width of the clamping-latch piece is adapted to the opening width and the opening length of the opening in such a way that in the pre-assembled state, the clamping-latch piece can be guided through the opening in a first position and in a second position in the final assembled state can be supported on the material of the side plate surrounding the opening.
  • an area of the rail fastening device passes through the opening and clamps edge sections of the opening of the side plate between the support surface and the surfaces of the clamping latch piece facing and adjacent to the side plate. This achieves a very stable and broad support of forces that act on the rail receiving part and must be supported via the side plate.
  • the guide rail or the guide rail section to be fastened can be fastened to the rail receiving part using other fastening means such as screws, pins, rivets, clamps or the like.
  • the rail receiving part can have a support surface and a projection in the rail receiving area.
  • the width of the support surface limited by the projection is slightly shorter than the width of the guide rail.
  • any shape is conceivable with regard to the cross-section of the clamping bolt piece that is to be guided through the opening, as long as it allows the clamping bolt piece to be pushed through the opening in a first position and then pivoted into the second position to rest against the side plate.
  • the outlines or the cross-section of the clamping bolt piece that is to be pushed through have a rectangular shape that corresponds to the flat extent of the opening.
  • a swivel weight can be arranged on the clamping latch piece, which automatically swivels the clamping latch piece of the pre-assembled rail fastening device from the first position to the intended second position due to gravity after it has been passed through the opening.
  • An anaerobic adhesive or micro-encapsulated adhesive can be used to secure the screw connection of a fully assembled rail fastening device.
  • the anaerobic adhesive is applied to the screw thread during pre-assembly in such a way that it only gets between the screw thread and the nut thread when the screw is tightened. It is much easier to use screws to whose thread micro-encapsulated adhesive has already been applied by the screw manufacturer and which is released when the screw is screwed into the nut thread.
  • other screw locking methods are also possible, although the safest and simplest option is to provide sufficient stretch length for the screw connection.
  • the rail fastening device can comprise a counter-holder that can be fastened to the side plate.
  • the guide rail section fastened to the side plate is arranged between the rail receiving part and the counter-holder.
  • Such a counter-holder thus prevents the guide rail section from being able to lift off the rail receiving part.
  • an anti-twist device can be provided on the clamping-latch piece. Using this anti-twist device, a torque applied to the clamping-latch piece by the screw connection can be supported in a form-fitting manner in the opening. On the one hand, this makes the assembly process easier and, on the other hand, the anti-twist device prevents the clamping-latch piece from being unable to pivot due to vibrations, even if the pre-tensioning force of the tightened screw connection is insufficient.
  • a further embodiment of the rail fastening device may include a An anti-twisting device must be provided on the rail receiving part. This anti-twisting device can also be used to positively support a torque applied to the rail receiving part by the screw connection in the opening.
  • the rail fastening device is preferably pre-assembled.
  • the rail receiving part is connected to the clamping latch piece by means of the screw connection.
  • an assembly distance must be preset between the rail receiving part and the clamping latch piece that is greater than the thickness of the side plate in the area of the opening. This is because otherwise the clamping latch piece will still partially protrude into the opening and therefore cannot be pivoted.
  • the aforementioned rail fastening device is equally suitable for guide rail systems of an escalator or a moving walkway, wherein the guide rail system has at least one guide rail section and at least one side plate with at least one opening. If there are no openings, at least one opening can be cut out in the side plate at a suitable location, for example with the aid of a template and suitable tools. The opening must have a length in its planar extent that is greater than its width. At least one rail fastening device of the type described above can then be arranged in the at least one opening, by means of which the at least one guide rail section can be fastened to the at least one side plate.
  • the rail fastening is therefore particularly suitable for an escalator or a moving walkway with at least one guide rail system, wherein the guide rail system has at least one side plate to which guide rail sections can be fastened.
  • Their guide rail system comprises at least one side plate, which has at least one has an opening. If there is no opening, one can be created as described above. It may be easier to install a new side plate with corresponding openings, provided that this is fastened to the supporting structure of the escalator or moving walkway using screw connections and not welded in. As already described above, the opening must have a length that is greater than its width.
  • the rail fastening device is pre-assembled by connecting the rail receiving part to the tensioning latch piece using the screw connection. In this case, an installation distance is preset between the rail receiving part and the tensioning latch piece, which is greater than the thickness of the side plate in the area of the opening.
  • the clamping latch piece of a pre-assembled rail fastening device is brought into a first position and thus aligned with regard to its length and width to the opening length and the opening width of the opening.
  • the clamping latch piece can then be guided through the opening until the support surface of the rail receiving part rests on the side plate.
  • the clamping latch piece is then pivoted about the central longitudinal axis of the screw connection and thus brought into a second position.
  • the rail fastening device is brought into a finally assembled state by tightening the screw connection with a predetermined screw tightening torque.
  • the clamping latch piece should be held in the second position until the clamping latch piece rests on the material of the side plate surrounding the opening and the support surface of the rail receiving part and/or the guide rail section to be fastened is pressed against the side plate.
  • the clamping latch piece can be held in the second position, for example, by means of the anti-twisting device described or by means of a screwdriver which is temporarily inserted through the opening at the side while the screw connection is being tightened, thus preventing the clamping latch piece from pivoting further.
  • Figure 1 shows in a central longitudinal section a part of an escalator 1 arranged on a lower floor E1 of a building 3.
  • the escalator 1 has a supporting structure 5 and a guide rail system 7 built into the supporting structure 5.
  • the guide rail system 7 comprises two side plates 9 (only one is shown because of the central longitudinal section), between which a step band (not shown) is guided on guide rail sections 11, 13.
  • the side plates 9 are arranged close to the laterally projecting structural elements such as uprights 15 and diagonal struts 17 of the supporting structure 5.
  • Walls 19 of the building 3 usually adjoin the outside of the supporting structure 5 at a short distance, so that the surface of the side plate 9 facing the structural elements 15, 17 of the supporting structure 5 is inaccessible for assembly work.
  • the side of the side plate 9 facing away from the structural elements 15, 17, on which the guide rail sections 11, 13 are arranged is very easily accessible if as shown, the step band has been removed.
  • guide rail sections 11, 13 that are welded to the side plate 9 and are to be replaced can now be removed.
  • the weld seams to be separated are usually arranged in the area of so-called welding windows. These welding windows are rectangular and thus represent existing openings 21 that can be used to install the new guide rail sections 11, 13.
  • Rail fastening devices 23 are provided for installing the guide rail sections 11, 13.
  • the openings 21 have a rectangular cross-section with an opening length L S and an opening width B S in their planar extent, whereby the opening length L S is significantly greater than the opening width B S .
  • the lower guide rail section 13 is still welded to the side plate 9.
  • the upper guide rail section 11 has already been replaced and is therefore fastened to the side plate 9 with rail fastening devices 23.
  • the rail fastening device 23 essentially comprises a rail receiving part 25, a screw connection 27 and a clamping locking piece 29.
  • the rail receiving part 25 has a rail receiving area 31 and a support surface 33. In the final assembled state, the support surface 33 rests against the side plate 9.
  • the rail receiving area 31 essentially comprises a support surface 35 and a projection 37. The exact function of the projection 37 is explained below in connection with the description of the Figures 3 and 4 explained.
  • the clamping bolt piece 29 is designed in its length L R and width B R to match the opening width B S and the opening length L S of the opening 21 (see Figure 1 ) so that in the pre-assembled state the clamping latch piece 25 is in the Figure 2 shown first layer can be passed through the opening 21 and in a second layer in the final assembled state (see Figure 4 ) can be supported on the material of the side plate 9 surrounding the opening 11.
  • a central area of the Rail fastening device 23 passes through the opening 21 and clamps edge parts of the opening 21 or the side plate 9 between the support surface 33 and the surfaces 37 of the clamping locking piece 29 facing the side plate 9 and resting against it. This achieves a very stable and broad support of forces that can act on the rail receiving part 25 and must be supported via the side plate 9.
  • the rail fastening device 23 is designed as the Figure 2 shows, preferably pre-assembled.
  • the rail receiving part 25 is connected to the clamping-latch piece 29 by means of the screw connection 27.
  • the clamping-latch piece 29 is connected to the rail receiving part 25 by means of the screw connection 27 in such a way that the clamping-latch piece 29 is pivotably mounted relative to the rail receiving part 25 about the central longitudinal axis 43 of the screw or the screw connection 27.
  • an anaerobic adhesive can be applied in the area marked with an arrow A.
  • screws can also be used for the screw connection 27 which already have a micro-encapsulated adhesive applied to their thread by the manufacturer.
  • a mounting distance t must be preset between the rail receiving part 25 and the clamping locking piece 29, which is greater than a thickness s (see Figure 3 ) of the side plate 9 in the area of the opening 21. This is because otherwise the clamping latch piece 29 still partially protrudes into the opening 21 and therefore cannot be pivoted.
  • a swivel weight 45 can be arranged on the clamping-latch piece 29, which automatically swivels the clamping-latch piece 29 of the pre-assembled rail fastening device 23 from the first position to the intended second position due to the torque M caused by gravity after it has passed through the opening 21.
  • this swivel weight 45 is not absolutely necessary, the torque M can also be adjusted using a screwdriver. generated and transferred to the clamping locking piece 29 via the screw connection 27.

  • the rail fastening devices 23 shown preferably also correspond to this rail fastening device 23.
  • the Figure 3 shows the rail fastening device 23 from the side of the side plate 9 that is easily accessible for a fitter.
  • the Figure 4 shows in three-dimensional representation the same rail fastening device 23 of the Figure 3 from a side that is difficult for a technician to access.
  • the rail fastening device 23 mounted on the side plate 9 has the Figure 2
  • the width Wa of the support surface 35 of the rail receiving part 25, which is limited by the projection 37, is slightly shorter than the width W T of the guide rail section 11 resting on the support surface 35. If the screw connection 27 (in Figure 3 indicated by its central longitudinal axis 43) of the rail fastening device 23, the support surface 33 on the one hand bears against the side plate 9 and on the other hand the guide rail or the guide rail section 11 is clamped between the side plate 9 and the projection 37. However, this is only possible if there is still a gap Z between the rail support part 25 and the clamping locking piece 29 even when the screw connection 27 is tightened.

  • this facilitates the assembly process and, on the other hand, prevents the rail receiving part 25 from rotating as long as the screw connection 27 has not yet been tightened and the guide rail section 11 has not yet been placed on the support surface 35 rests.
  • the weight forces of the step band acting on the guide rail section 11 are supported in a form-fitting manner via a surface 41 of the anti-twist device 39, so that the screw connection 27 does not have to be designed to be as strong, for example in order to achieve a sufficient frictional connection between the support surface 33 and the side plate 9.
