Definitions
- the present invention relates to an interior camera module of a vehicle and an interior camera system, comprising an interior camera module.
- Interior camera modules are well known from the prior art and are used for the optical monitoring of a driver of a vehicle. For example, interior camera modules are used to determine a characteristic, condition, attribute, and/or status of the driver of the vehicle, such as whether the driver is asleep or otherwise unable to operate the vehicle.
- the interior camera module usually includes an image sensor that is used to record images or real-time videos of the driver's face. Additionally, the interior camera module may include a light source, typically an infrared LED (LED: Light Emitting Diode), used to illuminate the driver's face. The light reflected from the driver's face is captured by the image sensor, which converts the received reflected light into digital signals. Typically, a lens stack is used in front of the image sensor to collect, transmit, and focus the reflected light onto the image sensor. The digital signals are then processed by a processing device operatively connected to the interior camera module, e.g. B. processed by a video processor or an electronic control unit, also referred to as an ECU.
- a processing device operatively connected to the interior camera module, e.g. B. processed by a video processor or an electronic control unit, also referred to as an ECU.
- the digital signals can e.g. B. be interpreted based on a specific set of rules for making an indication of the state and / or behavior of the driver of the vehicle. It is also known to provide the driver of the vehicle with visual, audible or tactile information, e.g. B. about its condition provides. For example, a warning signal or a message containing information about the condition and/or the behavior of the driver can be used as visual information, e.g. B. to indicate to the driver that he should stop the car and take a break before continuing his journey.
- Warning signals are known as tell-tales, for example.
- tell tales show important information about the condition of the vehicle and/or the condition of the vehicle's surroundings.
- tell tales are used to indicate the condition of the vehicle's brakes, tires, or engine.
- tell-tales convey safety-related information to the driver, they must be monitored. It is known from the prior art that, with regard to safety aspects, tell-tales are part of a calculation loop for the motor vehicle safety requirement level (ASIL: Automotive Safety Integrity Level) and must therefore be monitored with regard to their on-off states.
- ASIL Automotive Safety Integrity Level
- LCD Liquid Crystal Display
- TFT Thin Film Transistor
- the interior camera module which is designed for the optical monitoring of a driver of a vehicle, includes at least one tell tale that can be displayed to the driver.
- the at least one tell tale is integrated directly into the interior camera module, thereby enabling tell tales to be displayed to the driver via the interior camera module.
- the interior camera module typically includes an image sensor that captures images or real-time videos of the driver's face by detecting light reflected from the driver's face.
- a light source e.g. B. an infrared LED (LED: light-emitting diode), integrated into the interior camera module.
- LED light-emitting diode
- a lens stack in front of the image sensor can be used to collect, transmit, and focus the reflected light onto the image sensor.
- the image sensor converts the received reflected light into digital signals and transmits the digital signals to a processing device, e.g. B. an ECU or a video processor, which is operatively connected to the interior camera module and which is designed to control components of the interior camera module.
- the same processing device can also be used to control the at least one tell-tale with respect to its on and off state and to monitor the on-off state and thus the functionality of the at least one tell-tale.
- An advantage of integrating the tell tale directly into the cabin camera module is that the functions of monitoring a driver, displaying tell tales, and monitoring the tell tales are combined in one module. Thus, no separate modules and no separate processing devices, e.g. B. ECUs, required for the above-mentioned functions.
- Another advantage of the interior camera module that includes at least one tell tale is that the interior camera module is located in a vehicle generally in the driver's view. Thus, at least one tell tale can always be seen by the driver. Furthermore, the binding of the functions in a module leads to increased cost efficiency, time efficiency during an assembly process and also space savings within the vehicle cockpit.
- At least one tell-tale within the present disclosure means that the invention can already be implemented if only one tell-tale is displayed by the interior camera module. However, in a preferred embodiment, numerous tell tales are displayed by the interior camera module.
- the interior camera module is operatively connected to a processing device, which means that the processing device is directly integrated into the interior camera module or, e.g. B. via an interface can be connected to the interior camera module. Therefore, in one embodiment of the present disclosure, the interior camera module includes an interface via which digital signals can be transmitted from and to a processing device. In another embodiment of the present disclosure, the indoor camera module includes the processing device. Thus, the processing device, e.g. B. a video processor or an ECU, integrated directly into the interior camera module.
- the indoor camera module comprises a video serializer and/or a video deserializer.
- the video serializer is linked to a deserializer, e.g. B. by a Low Voltage Differential Signaling, also referred to as LVDS, and / or an optical fiber, operatively connectable.
- the cabin camera module is operatively connected to an optical fiber for transmitting visible light to at least one telltale.
- a visible light source e.g. B.
- an LED which emits light in the visible range
- the optical fiber which is used as a transmission medium for the light and thus illuminates the Tell-Tale.
- the interior camera module includes an interface that uses optical fibers as the transmission medium. Then the ports already available for optical fibers or an optical fiber of the interface can be used to transmit light to the tell valley and thus illuminate the tell valley.
- the interior camera module includes an LED that emits light in the visible range as a flash source for the at least one tell tale. Such an embodiment is particularly advantageous in terms of cost efficiency.
- Fig. 1 shows an interior camera system according to the prior art
- FIG. 1 shows an interior camera module 1 of a vehicle, as is known from the prior art, a vehicle bus 2 and diagnostic information 3 which is provided by various processors and sensors, which are not shown.
- the interior camera module 1 is operatively connected to a processing device, a video processor 4 , the interior camera module 1 including the video processor 4 here.
- a processing device e.g. B.
- the interior camera module 1 also includes an image sensor 5 and an infrared LED 6, which represent components of the interior camera module that are controlled by the video processor 4.
- the infrared LED 6 illuminates a driver of a vehicle, e.g. B.
- the video processor 4 receives information, e.g. B. images and / or a video provided by the image sensor 5, and processes the information received from the image sensor 5 for a condition and / or behavior of the driver of the vehicle.
- the video processor 4 may further receive information through diagnostic information 3 via a vehicle BUS 2, or may provide processed information via the vehicle BUS 2 to various other ECUs.
- Figure 2 shows an embodiment of the invention. It differs from FIG. 1 in that the interior camera module 1 also includes tell tales 7 such that the tell tales 7 are displayed by the interior camera module 1 . Furthermore, the interior camera module 1 includes LED light sources that emit light in the visible range and are operatively connected to the tell tales 7 and illuminate them.
- the video processor 4 is operatively connected to the interior camera module 1 via an interface. As an interface, the indoor camera module 1 and the video processor 4 include a video serializer and a video deserializer (not shown). The video processor 4 is operatively connected to various other ECUs via the vehicle BUS 2 .
- the video processor 4 controls the tell-tales in that it processes information received from the image sensor 5 and/or received as diagnostic information 3 from at least one of various ECUs via the vehicle BUS 2, and by displaying the processed information via the tell-tales 7. Furthermore, the video processor 4 is designed to diagnose the on and off states of the tell-tales 7. The further function of the elements displayed is identical to the description provided for FIG.
