Description

The invention relates to an awning housing for a cassette awning with the features specified in the preamble of claim 1.

The usual main components of a long-known awning housing for a cassette awning are an upper roof section and a lower floor section, which form a receiving area for a fabric shaft with a corresponding fabric roll between them. The upper roof section is usually provided with a front edge leg pointing in the projection direction of the awning, with which a projection profile retracted into the awning housing together with the awning fabric closes off to form the closed cassette. Such awning housings are known, for example, from the EP 2 199 484 A2 , FR 2 973 055 A1 , DE 35 05 824 A1 or DE 695 09 948 T2 An awning housing is also available from the DE 195 03 263 A1 known.

In order to prevent the front profile from coming into contact with the roof section of the awning housing when the awning is extended and retracted, which would cause unfavorable metal-to-metal contact, so-called plastic retraction sliders are attached to the front edge of the awning housing. This also prevents the front profile from getting caught in the roof section of the housing when the awning is extended due to projections in the roof section of the housing. The latter can happen, for example, if the awning's articulated arms are too high. Known retractable slide pieces are snapped into corresponding locking recesses on the roof section of the awning housing with locking lugs or pressed into corresponding recesses, both of which are often relatively difficult and cumbersome to accomplish. Accordingly, it is also difficult to remove a retractable slide piece if, for example, its position on the awning housing needs to be corrected. Such disassembly can also lead to damage to the connecting elements on the retractable slide piece, which then becomes unusable.

Based on the problem described, the invention is based on the object of improving an awning housing of the generic type and the retractable sliding pieces used therein in such a way that they are significantly easier to assemble and can be disassembled without wear and tear, without impairing the other functional properties.

This object is achieved by the features specified in the characterizing part of claim 1, namely by a flat, downwardly open receiving channel on the front edge leg for the at least one retractable slider, which receiving channel has lateral undercuts facing one another at a distance for anchoring the retractable slider, wherein
  • = the entry slide has a plate-shaped bending zone between the engaging edges facing away from each other for engaging the undercuts,
  • = the distance between the engagement edges of the entry slide in the unbent state is greater than the distance between the undercuts,
  • = for mounting the entry slider in the receiving channel, the entry slider can be inserted into the undercuts with the bending zone pointing away from the receiving channel, and
  • = the bending zone can then be brought into a deflection bent into the receiving channel in the manner of an over-center kinematics.

In contrast to the prior art, the invention does not use a locking or press connection between the retractable slider and the awning housing, but rather the retractable slider is brought into a state by simply bending its bending zone away from the receiving channel so that its engagement edges can be easily latched into the undercuts of the receiving channel. To ensure that the convexly bent bending zone does not interfere with the retraction and extension path of the drop profile with the awning fabric attached to it, the bending zone is snapped inwards in a final assembly step using the over-center kinematics mentioned above, so that the retractable slider with its now concavely curved bending zone is held stable and fixed in position in the receiving channel. To dismantle the retractable slider, the bending zone can simply be gripped under with a flat tool if necessary and brought back into the convexly curved position and removed from the receiving channel by further bending. This means that there is no wear on the retractable slide piece, which can be removed and installed as often as you like.

Preferred developments of the invention are specified in the dependent claims. For example, the engagement edge pointing against the failure direction be formed by the edge of the plate-shaped bending zone itself. This means that the entry slide in this area is designed to be as simple as possible while still being fully functional.

The engagement edge pointing in the direction of projection is formed on a guide block that protrudes downwards from the receiving channel in the assembly position. The latter therefore not only serves to provide the engagement edge itself, but also has a dual function for guiding the projection profile and, if necessary, as a stop for it in the retracted, closed position of the cassette awning.

Furthermore, in a preferred embodiment, a guide plate with lateral support wings that is widened on both sides transverse to the projection direction can be provided on the guide block. The guide plate not only creates a larger contact surface for the projection profile and the awning fabric that moves with it, but the lateral support wings also create a support when the retractable sliding piece is mounted on the edge of the roof section towards a side cap, which prevents the front edge leg on the upper roof section from being accidentally raised by the fabric tension and thus creates a visually favorable offset between the roof section and the side cap.

Several retractable sliding pieces can be arranged distributed over the width of the housing, with one retractable sliding piece preferably being arranged on the roof section of the awning housing under the longitudinal edge of the awning fabric pointing in the projection direction and under each fabric seam running in the projection direction of an awning fabric that may be composed of several panels.

Preferably, the retractable sliding piece is made of a rigid plastic material, preferably POM.

Based on Fig.1 The basic structure of the cassette awning shown is to be explained. This has an awning housing, designated as a whole with 1, which is composed of an upper roof section 2 and a lower floor section 3 suspended in it. Both parts consist of an extruded profile, on which an inner receiving area 4 for a fabric shaft 5 with a fabric roll 6 is attached by corresponding webs, which is formed by the awning fabric 7 attached to the fabric shaft 5 and wound onto the shaft in the retracted position of the awning shown. The latter is attached with its front end 8 to the drop profile 9, which is connected via conventional articulated arms (not shown in detail) from the Fig.1 shown retracted position with the awning fabric 7 in the projection direction A of the awning can be extended. In the retracted position, the awning housing 1 together with the front profile 9 form an essentially closed cassette.

As from Fig. 1 and 2 As can be seen from the drawing, the upper roof section 2 is provided with a front edge leg 10 pointing in the direction of projection A, which serves to terminate with the upper boundary edge 11 of the projection profile 9. In order to avoid direct metal-to-metal contact between these two components, several retractable sliding pieces 12 are arranged on this front edge leg 10 distributed over the width of the awning housing 1. In the Fig. 1 and 2 only one of these retraction slide pieces 12 is visible. Basically, these serve as a stop for the drop profile 9 or to gently guide the awning fabric 7 if it slides along the front edge leg 10 when it is extended.

A flat, downwardly open receiving channel 13 on the front edge leg 10 is used to fasten the retractable sliding pieces 12 to the roof section 2. This receiving channel 13 has lateral undercuts 14, 15 which form the side cheeks and face each other at a distance a1. These serve to anchor the respective retractable sliding piece 12, as will be explained below with reference to its shape and handling with reference to the Fig. 3 to 7 is described in more detail.

Thus, each entry slide 12, which is made in one piece from a plastic material, has a plate-shaped, flat-rectangular bending zone 16, at the front end of which, pointing in the direction of failure A, a thicker, essentially cuboid-shaped guide block 17 is formed. The Fig. 3 to 7 downward facing surface of the guide block 17 is extended by a guide plate 18 widened on both sides transversely to the projection direction A, the areas of which project laterally beyond the guide block 17 form support wings 19 for gripping under the edge of a side cap of the cassette awning (not shown in detail). The front edge 20 of the guide plate 18 projecting forwards beyond the guide block 17 forms, together with a web-like projection 21 formed above it on the guide block 17, an engagement edge 23 for stable engagement in the front undercut 15 on the receiving channel 13.

The edge at the rear end of the bending zone 16 forms a second engagement edge 22 for engagement of the entry slide 12 in the rear undercut 14 on the receiving channel 13. The distance a2 between the engagement edges 22, 23 in the non-bent state of the bending zone 16 is slightly larger than the distance a1 between the undercuts 14, 15.

The installation of the retractable sliding pieces 12 in the receiving channel 13 of the awning housing 1 is now carried out using the Fig. 4 to 7 as follows: As can be seen from Fig.4 As can be seen, the insertion slide 12 is inserted with its rear engagement edge 22 into the rear undercut 14 of the receiving channel 13. The front engagement edge 23 cannot be inserted into the front undercut 15 in this state due to the larger distance a2. For this purpose - as Fig.5 shows - the bending zone 16 can be elastically bent downwards in a convex manner, for example by manual pressure on the guide block 17, so that the distance a2 is reduced and the front engagement edge 23 can be introduced into the undercut 15 - see Fig.6 . The entry slide 12 is thus already anchored in the receiving channel 13, but the downward-facing, convex bulge of the bending zone 16 is still disturbing. This is now by simply pressing it inwards in a concave manner in the manner of a dead-center kinematics, whereby the bending zone 16 still clings to the bottom 24 of the receiving channel 13 and thus a very stable anchoring is realized.

To remove the insertion slide 12 from the receiving channel 13, it is sufficient to use a flat tool to reach into the laterally open gusset 25 between the bending zone 16 and the bottom 24 of the receiving channel 13 and to elastically transfer the bending zone 16 from the concave position over the dead center into the convex position and to bend it to such an extent that one of the engagement edges 22, 23 can be brought out of engagement with the corresponding undercut 14, 15.
