Definitions
- the present invention relates to a hand shower for manually rinsing objects with water, in particular for use in canteen kitchens, with a shower body extending along a longitudinal axis, having a first end and a second end remote along the longitudinal axis, with a hose connection for connecting an external Hose line, wherein the hose connection is arranged at the first end, with a shower head, which is arranged at the second end and forms a water outlet, with a valve element, which is held on the shower body and/or on the shower head and an open position and a closed position has, and with an operating element which is coupled to the valve element in order to selectively bring the valve element from the closed position to the open position, wherein a through-channel is formed inside the shower body, which leads from the hose connection to the water outlet, and wherein the valve element closes the passage channel in the closed position and opens it in the open position.
- Such a hand shower is, for example, from CN 210507636 U known.
- the well-known hand shower is intended for use in kitchens and has a lever mechanism with an actuating lever with which the valve element from the closed position can be moved to the open position.
- the actuating lever extends parallel to the longitudinal axis on the outside of the shower body and can therefore be pressed with the palm of the hand or with the fingers when the hand shower is gripped on the outside of the shower body.
- the shower head can be moved up and down along the longitudinal axis to switch between two different spray jet modes. In one operating mode, the shower head generates a water mist, in the other operating mode a water jet.
- WO 2009/120322 A1 discloses a faucet for a kitchen having a plurality of articulated segments so that the jet of water can be directed in different directions or to different positions.
- JP 2006 6188830 A discloses a faucet with a hand shower which is connected via a flexible hose to the fixed part of the faucet and can be pulled out telescopically from a receptacle arranged on the fixed part and then moved largely freely.
- CN 210459410 U shows another faucet in which the water outlet can be pulled out telescopically and pivoted.
- US 2021/0039117 A shows a showerhead intended for mounting on a wall and having a pivot joint which allows pivotal movement about an axis parallel to the wall.
- U.S. 2003/184086 A1 discloses a shower head with a flexible supply line formed from rigid segments pivotable relative to one another.
- FR 2 995 919 A1 discloses a ball valve for use in a water line.
- a hand shower of the type mentioned at the outset is proposed to solve this problem, with the shower head being pivotably arranged on the shower body.
- the new hand shower follows a hand shower concept that has been tried and tested in practical use, as is used successfully in canteen kitchens and other professional areas.
- the new hand shower therefore has a hose connection for connecting an external hose line.
- This makes it possible to hang the new hand shower on a spring bow using the hose line, which offers quick and easy handling as well as flexibility and a high level of robustness in a professional environment.
- exemplary embodiments of the invention include a hand shower of the aforementioned type, which is suspended from a spring bow via a hose line.
- the new hand shower has a control element that is linked to a valve element integrated in the hand shower. Therefore, the water flow at the hand shower itself can be started or stopped and preferably also regulated. As a result, the new hand shower allows and facilitates a manual flushing process with one hand. The operator therefore has a second hand free with which he can turn, move or otherwise move or hold the objects to be washed, such as in particular plates and other crockery. The new hand shower can do this be operated without having to reach for the faucet on the washbasin or sink. As a result, the new hand shower differs from many hand showers and shower heads, as are described in the prior art indicated above.
- the shower body is preferably tubular and the outside of the shower body forms a rod-shaped handle which the operator can grip with one hand.
- This preferred configuration enables stable and ergonomic handling even when the rinsing jet is ejected from the hand shower at high pressure.
- the shower body can have a pistol-like grip, which also enables stable handling and alignment of a strong flushing jet.
- the shower head can have a jet sieve or an array of outlet nozzles and/or a mixing nozzle at the water outlet in order to generate a flushing jet with a large jet cross-section in a water-saving manner.
- the through-channel runs largely parallel to the longitudinal axis in order to obtain efficient beam guidance.
- the new hand shower has a shower head which is pivotably arranged on the shower body.
- the rinsing jet emerging from the water outlet can therefore be selectively directed to a different position—with the operator holding the same hand.
- the operator can therefore not only vary the exit direction of the flushing jet by changing the orientation of the shower head, but also vary the orientation of the water outlet relative to the shower head.
- the new hand shower thus has an additional degree of freedom, which enables individual and therefore more ergonomic handling of the new hand shower.
- the rinse stream can be more easily directed to a desired rinse position, particularly a rinse position deep within a sink and/or intended to rinse an object from the side.
- the shower head can be pivoted about a head pivot axis that runs transversely to the longitudinal axis, in particular orthogonally to the longitudinal axis.
- the water outlet of the shower head can define a flushing jet direction that is fixed at an angle to the longitudinal axis.
- the new hand shower can advantageously be pivotable about a head pivot axis, which runs parallel to the longitudinal axis, in order to vary the flushing jet direction relative to the shower body.
- the above-mentioned design with a head pivot axis transverse to the longitudinal axis also has the advantage that the direction of the rinsing jet can be pivoted very individually out of the longitudinal axis of the shower body, which allows for particularly great variability when rinsing objects and, above all, rinsing a largely vertical object Object side relieved.
- the operating element has a pivoting lever which can be pivoted about a lever pivot axis which runs largely parallel to the head pivot axis.
- This configuration enables a compact design and advantageously contributes to ergonomic handling of the new hand shower.
- lever pivot axis and the head pivot axis are collinear.
- the head pivot axis and the lever pivot axis practically coincide.
- the pivotable operating element has two bearing points spaced apart axially, between which the pivotable shower head is mounted. The configuration enables a very compact design with a small number of components
- the shower head has a handle section which is spaced apart from the shower body.
- the shower head has a grip edge, i.e. the grip section is arranged at least partially on the outer circumference of the shower head.
- the grip edge advantageously determines the maximum outer diameter of the shower head.
- the handle section in particular the handle edge, can advantageously be rubberized and/or made of another elastic material.
- the shower head can be held on the handle edge, more generally on the handle section, with one hand or with a few fingers of one hand, while the shower body is held with a second hand in order to conveniently initiate a turning or pivoting moment on the shower head.
- the handle section is preferably also at a distance from the head pivot axis, which facilitates manual pivoting of the shower head relative to the shower body. The design enables the hand shower to be handled easily and safely, even with soapy and/or wet hands.
- the shower head has at least one defined pivoting position relative to the shower body, in which the shower head snaps into place on the shower body.
- the shower head and/or the shower body have end stops which prevent the shower head from being over-squeezed relative to the shower body.
- This configuration ensures that the shower head has at least one "standard position" in which it is mechanically very stable and robust, even when rinsing is carried out with a rinsing jet at very high pressure.
- the design contributes to robust and comfortable handling.
- the shower head can be brought into the standard position with high repeatability.
- the shower head can assume a pivoting position relative to the shower body, in which the water outlet points in the direction of the longitudinal axis.
- the shower head has a possible pivoting position here, which corresponds to the rigid, non-pivotable orientation of the water outlet in known hand-held showers. Therefore, the hand shower of this embodiment is downwardly compatible with known hand showers.
- the shower head can be continuously pivoted over a defined pivoting range.
- This configuration has the advantage that the flushing jet can be aligned according to the individual preference of each operator.
- an elastic element is arranged between the shower head and the shower body, which increases static friction between the shower head and the shower body.
- the shower head can thus be pivoted in a simple manner and held in a large number of different pivoted positions, i.e. with different pivoting angles relative to the longitudinal axis.
- the shower body has a ball socket at the second end and the shower head has a spherical segment which is pivotably mounted in the ball socket.
- a sealing ring is preferably arranged between the ball socket and the ball segment, which on the one hand acts as a liquid seal and on the other hand contributes to the aforementioned static friction.
- the configuration enables a very cost-effective, compact and robust realization of the new hand shower with the pivotable shower head.
- the shower body has a cavity at the second end, into which the through-channel opens, the cavity having a first opening diameter, the shower head having a channel opening with a second opening diameter, which is in fluid communication with the cavity, and wherein the first opening diameter is larger than the second opening diameter.
- valve body is located above the port opening, i.e. along the longitudinal axis between the first end and the port opening.
- the valve body is also arranged above the cavity, which promotes a compact design.
- valve element has an actuating body which can be moved along an axis of movement which runs at an angle to the longitudinal axis.
- the hand shower has a valve element which is moved essentially in a translatory manner from the closed position into the open position in order to open the through-channel.
- a valve element can be brought from the closed position into the open position very easily and efficiently with a lever mechanism.
- the efficiency of the opening movement is further increased by the axis of movement running at an angle to the longitudinal axis.
- "oblique" refers to an angle that is not equal to 90° and is in particular less than 85° or greater than 95°, depending on whether the acute angle or the obtuse angle between the two axes is considered.
- the movement axis is advantageously at an angle on a plane that is spanned by the longitudinal axis of the shower body and the head pivot axis, with the control element being coupled to the valve element at a point that lies in the direction of the bearing points of the control element.
- the shower body and the shower head are made of plastic.
- the new hand shower can also be made from other materials that meet the requirements for drinking water approval, such as stainless steel.
- the hand shower 10 has a here largely tubular shower body 12 which extends along a longitudinal axis which is denoted by the reference number 14 here.
- the shower body 12 On the first (in 1 upper) end 16, the shower body 12 has a hose connection 18, which is covered here by a plug-on cap and to which a hose line (not shown here) can be connected in a manner known per se.
- the hose connection 18 can, for example, have a screw thread, in particular an external thread, to which a hose line with a corresponding mating thread, for example an internal thread in a union nut, can be screwed tight.
- the hose connection 18 can include a bayonet lock to which a corresponding hose line can be attached.
- the hand shower has a shower head 22 which forms a water outlet 24 in a manner known per se.
- the shower head 22 is set up to generate one or more rinsing jets (not shown here), which emerge at the water outlet 24 .
- the shower head 22 can be pivoted here about a head pivot axis 26, which runs transversely and in particular orthogonally to the longitudinal axis 14, in order to direct the rinsing jet either in the direction of the longitudinal axis 14 or at an angle thereto.
- the shower head 22 can be moved from a 0° position, as shown in FIG 1 is shown, can be pivoted largely steplessly up to a 45° position, as shown in 2 is shown.
- the pivoting range can advantageously include a pivoting angle of 0° up to 60° or in other exemplary embodiments up to 90°.
- the largely tubular shower body 12 tapers from the lower, second end toward the upper, first end.
- the shower body 12 includes an attached grip shell 27 with recessed grips and/or a surface texture that supports a secure grip with wet and/or soapy hands.
- the shower body 12 is made entirely or partially of plastic.
- the shower body 12 here advantageously forms a largely rod-shaped handle on which the hand shower 10 can be held during a manual rinsing process by the operator gripping the shower body 12 on the handle shell 27 with one hand (not shown here).
- the hand shower 10 also has a valve element 28, which is best 3 can be seen.
- the valve element 28 contains a largely rod-shaped bolt 30 which is mounted so as to be displaceable along a movement axis 32 in the direction of the arrow 34 .
- the bolt 30 is prestressed here by a spring against the direction of movement 34 and is in 3 accordingly shown in a closed position, in which the bolt 30 closes the through-channel 36 inside the shower body 12 locked. in the in 3 shown closed position of the valve element 28 can therefore not get water from the hose connector 18 to the water outlet 24.
- the hand shower 10 has a lever arm 38 which extends essentially parallel to the longitudinal axis 14 and is therefore arranged parallel to the shower body 12 .
- the lever arm 38 is pivotably mounted here at two bearing points on the lower end 20 of the shower body 12 and can be pivoted about a lever pivot axis 40 which runs through the two bearing points and in this case also corresponds to the head pivot axis 26 .
- the lever pivot axis 40 can be offset in parallel or even transverse to the head pivot axis 26 .
- a free end 42 of the bolt 30 protrudes laterally from the shower body 12 and rests against the lever arm 38, so that the valve element 28 can be actuated by a pivoting movement of the lever arm 38 in the direction of the arrow 34, i.e. towards the shower body 12 its open position (not shown here) can be moved.
- An operator can therefore easily open the valve element 28 with one hand by grasping the lever arm 38 and the shower body 12 with one hand.
- an optional locking ring 44 is arranged here at the upper (first) end 16 of the shower body 12, with which the lever arm 38 can be locked in a pivoted position that corresponds to the open position of the valve element 28.
- the water outlet 24 on the shower head 22 is circular in this embodiment. In other exemplary embodiments, the water outlet can have a different surface shape.
- the shower head 22 has a peripheral edge section 46, thickened here, which advantageously serves as a handle section or handle edge.
- the gripping rim 46 is formed of a resilient material which promotes a secure grip for the operator and acts as a "shock absorber" should the rim portion 46 accidentally strike an object to be rinsed. Accordingly, in this exemplary embodiment, the surrounding grip edge 46 advantageously determines the maximum outer circumference of the shower head 22
- the grip edge 46 can be seen here at a distance from the shower body 12 and also from the head pivot axis 26 in the direction of the longitudinal axis 14 in order to facilitate pivoting of the shower head 22 .
- the shower body 22 in this embodiment has a cavity 48 which is located below the bolt 30, ie at the second end 20.
- the cavity 48 forms the lower end of the through-channel 36 in the shower body 12.
- the valve element 28 separates the cavity 48 from the rest of the through-channel 36 here in its closed position in order to prevent a flow of water to the water outlet 24.
- the cavity 48 here has an opening diameter D, which is larger than the opening diameter d of a channel opening 50 at the upper end of the shower head 22.
- the channel opening 50 is in fluid communication with the cavity 48, so that water from the cavity 48 through the channel opening 50 into the shower head 12 and can get to the water outlet 24 from there.
- the channel opening 50 opens directly into the cavity 48.
- the fluid connection between the through-channel 36 and the shower head 22 can include intermediate sections (not shown here).
- the shower head 22 is designed with a section 52 in the shape of a segment of a sphere at its upper end.
- the shower body 12 has a ball socket 54 which accommodates the ball segment 52 so that the ball segment 52 can be pivoted in the ball socket 54 about the head pivot axis 26 .
- a sealing element 56 such as an O-ring or an X-ring (not shown), is arranged here between the ball segment 52 and the ball socket 54, which fulfills two functions in this exemplary embodiment. Firstly, it forms a seal between the cavity 48 and the shower head 22 which ensures that water from the cavity 48 enters the shower head 22 completely through the channel opening 50 .
- the sealing element 56 ensures increased static friction, which makes it possible to place the shower head in the ball socket 54 of the To pivot shower body 12 and to hold it in a desired pivoted position.
- the shower head 22 has a pivoting range between 0° in relation to the longitudinal axis 14 and 60° or even 90° (not shown here).
- the pivoting range is smaller and lies between 0° in relation to the longitudinal axis 14 and approximately 45°.
- the ball socket 54 has a longer leg 58 on one side than on the opposite side.
- the leg 58 forms an end stop which limits the pivoting movement of the shower head 22 relative to the shower body 12 in one direction.
- the limitation advantageously corresponds to the 0° position of the shower head in relation to the longitudinal axis 14.
- the ball socket 54 terminates in a projection 60 protruding radially outwards.
- the projection 60 here forms an advantageous second end stop for the shower head 22, which defines the maximum inclined position of the shower head 22.
- the shower head 22 has a radially outwardly projecting section 62, which rests against the end stop here at the maximum inclined position.
- the outwardly protruding section 62 means that the shower head 22 can only be mounted on the shower body in the desired orientation shown here. Installation accidentally rotated by 180° is prevented.
- end stops and/or defined intermediate positions can be formed in a different way, for example with the help of one or more spring-loaded locking elements in the form of balls, cylinders, pins or the like, which engage in one or more corresponding depressions.
- One or more locking elements can be arranged on the shower body and one or more corresponding depressions on the shower head, or conversely one or more depressions can be arranged on the shower body and one or more corresponding locking elements on the shower head.

There are also a variety of other handheld shower designs and concepts including kitchen sprayers, showerheads and faucets. Some of the designs and concepts are conceived for a specific use case. Despite the large number of known hand showers, there is still room for improvement in terms of ergonomics and usability. This applies above all to use in canteen kitchens or other areas in which heavily soiled objects and/or a large number of objects have to be rinsed off or pre-rinsed by hand. For example, the dishes in professional canteen kitchens are pre-washed by hand in a dishwasher before being cleaned. A powerful hand shower with a hose line that is suspended from a spring bow is often used for this purpose.
Against this background, it is an object of the present invention to further develop a hand shower of the type mentioned at the outset in order to further facilitate the rinsing off of a large number of objects, some of which are heavily soiled.
According to one aspect of the present invention, a hand shower of the type mentioned at the outset is proposed to solve this problem, with the shower head being pivotably arranged on the shower body.
On the one hand, the new hand shower follows a hand shower concept that has been tried and tested in practical use, as is used successfully in canteen kitchens and other professional areas. The new hand shower therefore has a hose connection for connecting an external hose line. This makes it possible to hang the new hand shower on a spring bow using the hose line, which offers quick and easy handling as well as flexibility and a high level of robustness in a professional environment. Accordingly, exemplary embodiments of the invention include a hand shower of the aforementioned type, which is suspended from a spring bow via a hose line.
In addition, the new hand shower has a control element that is linked to a valve element integrated in the hand shower.
The shower body is preferably tubular and the outside of the shower body forms a rod-shaped handle which the operator can grip with one hand. This preferred configuration enables stable and ergonomic handling even when the rinsing jet is ejected from the hand shower at high pressure. In other exemplary embodiments, the shower body can have a pistol-like grip, which also enables stable handling and alignment of a strong flushing jet. The shower head can have a jet sieve or an array of outlet nozzles and/or a mixing nozzle at the water outlet in order to generate a flushing jet with a large jet cross-section in a water-saving manner. In some preferred embodiments, the through-channel runs largely parallel to the longitudinal axis in order to obtain efficient beam guidance.
In addition to all of these features, the new hand shower has a shower head which is pivotably arranged on the shower body. With the shower head, the rinsing jet emerging from the water outlet can therefore be selectively directed to a different position—with the operator holding the same hand. The operator can therefore not only vary the exit direction of the flushing jet by changing the orientation of the shower head, but also vary the orientation of the water outlet relative to the shower head. The new hand shower thus has an additional degree of freedom, which enables individual and therefore more ergonomic handling of the new hand shower. The rinse stream can be more easily directed to a desired rinse position, particularly a rinse position deep within a sink and/or intended to rinse an object from the side. This contributes in particular to facilitating the manual rinsing of a large number of objects of varying degrees of soiling. This applies in particular to the handling of a spring bow, which determines a certain preferred direction for the hand shower due to its pretension. The above task is therefore completely solved.
In an advantageous embodiment, the shower head can be pivoted about a head pivot axis that runs transversely to the longitudinal axis, in particular orthogonally to the longitudinal axis.
Alternatively or additionally, the water outlet of the shower head can define a flushing jet direction that is fixed at an angle to the longitudinal axis. In such a case, the new hand shower can advantageously be pivotable about a head pivot axis, which runs parallel to the longitudinal axis, in order to vary the flushing jet direction relative to the shower body. The above-mentioned design with a head pivot axis transverse to the longitudinal axis also has the advantage that the direction of the rinsing jet can be pivoted very individually out of the longitudinal axis of the shower body, which allows for particularly great variability when rinsing objects and, above all, rinsing a largely vertical object Object side relieved.
In a further refinement, the operating element has a pivoting lever which can be pivoted about a lever pivot axis which runs largely parallel to the head pivot axis.
This configuration enables a compact design and advantageously contributes to ergonomic handling of the new hand shower.
In a further preferred embodiment, the lever pivot axis and the head pivot axis are collinear.
Die Ausgestaltung ermöglicht eine sehr kompakte Bauform mit einer geringen Anzahl an BauteilenIn this embodiment, the head pivot axis and the lever pivot axis practically coincide. Advantageously, the pivotable operating element has two bearing points spaced apart axially, between which the pivotable shower head is mounted. The configuration enables a very compact design with a small number of components
In a further preferred embodiment, the shower head has a handle section which is spaced apart from the shower body.
In this embodiment, at least part of the shower head protrudes from or beyond the shower body and is therefore freely accessible. In some exemplary embodiments, the shower head has a grip edge, i.e. the grip section is arranged at least partially on the outer circumference of the shower head. In some exemplary embodiments, the grip edge advantageously determines the maximum outer diameter of the shower head. The handle section, in particular the handle edge, can advantageously be rubberized and/or made of another elastic material. The shower head can be held on the handle edge, more generally on the handle section, with one hand or with a few fingers of one hand, while the shower body is held with a second hand in order to conveniently initiate a turning or pivoting moment on the shower head. The handle section is preferably also at a distance from the head pivot axis, which facilitates manual pivoting of the shower head relative to the shower body. The design enables the hand shower to be handled easily and safely, even with soapy and/or wet hands.
In a further preferred embodiment, the shower head has at least one defined pivoting position relative to the shower body, in which the shower head snaps into place on the shower body. In advantageous exemplary embodiments, the shower head and/or the shower body have end stops which prevent the shower head from being over-squeezed relative to the shower body.
This configuration ensures that the shower head has at least one "standard position" in which it is mechanically very stable and robust, even when rinsing is carried out with a rinsing jet at very high pressure. The design contributes to robust and comfortable handling. The shower head can be brought into the standard position with high repeatability.
In a further preferred embodiment, the shower head can assume a pivoting position relative to the shower body, in which the water outlet points in the direction of the longitudinal axis.
With this configuration it is possible to direct the rinsing jet in the direction of the longitudinal axis, which in some operating situations enables an optimal alignment of the rinsing jet, in particular when rinsing objects from above. The shower head has a possible pivoting position here, which corresponds to the rigid, non-pivotable orientation of the water outlet in known hand-held showers. Therefore, the hand shower of this embodiment is downwardly compatible with known hand showers.
In a further preferred embodiment, the shower head can be continuously pivoted over a defined pivoting range.
This configuration has the advantage that the flushing jet can be aligned according to the individual preference of each operator. In some exemplary embodiments, an elastic element is arranged between the shower head and the shower body, which increases static friction between the shower head and the shower body. The shower head can thus be pivoted in a simple manner and held in a large number of different pivoted positions, i.e. with different pivoting angles relative to the longitudinal axis.
In a further embodiment, the shower body has a ball socket at the second end and the shower head has a spherical segment which is pivotably mounted in the ball socket. A sealing ring is preferably arranged between the ball socket and the ball segment, which on the one hand acts as a liquid seal and on the other hand contributes to the aforementioned static friction.
The configuration enables a very cost-effective, compact and robust realization of the new hand shower with the pivotable shower head.
In a further embodiment, the shower body has a cavity at the second end, into which the through-channel opens, the cavity having a first opening diameter, the shower head having a channel opening with a second opening diameter, which is in fluid communication with the cavity, and wherein the first opening diameter is larger than the second opening diameter.
This configuration has the advantage that the shower head can be pivoted very easily without interrupting the spray jet. In other words, this configuration makes it easily possible to pivot the shower head while the flushing jet is running, without interrupting the flushing jet. Advantageously the valve body is located above the port opening, i.e. along the longitudinal axis between the first end and the port opening. In some advantageous exemplary embodiments, the valve body is also arranged above the cavity, which promotes a compact design.
In a further refinement, the valve element has an actuating body which can be moved along an axis of movement which runs at an angle to the longitudinal axis.
In this embodiment, the hand shower has a valve element which is moved essentially in a translatory manner from the closed position into the open position in order to open the through-channel. Such a valve element can be brought from the closed position into the open position very easily and efficiently with a lever mechanism. The efficiency of the opening movement is further increased by the axis of movement running at an angle to the longitudinal axis. In this context, "oblique" refers to an angle that is not equal to 90° and is in particular less than 85° or greater than 95°, depending on whether the acute angle or the obtuse angle between the two axes is considered. In some exemplary embodiments, the movement axis is advantageously at an angle on a plane that is spanned by the longitudinal axis of the shower body and the head pivot axis, with the control element being coupled to the valve element at a point that lies in the direction of the bearing points of the control element. Such a configuration further simplifies the actuation of the valve element.
In a further embodiment, the shower body and the shower head are made of plastic.
This configuration enables a very cost-effective implementation that advantageously meets the requirements for drinking water approval. In principle, however, the new hand shower can also be made from other materials that meet the requirements for drinking water approval, such as stainless steel.
It goes without saying that the features mentioned above and those still to be explained below can be used not only in the combination specified in each case, but also in other combinations or on their own, without departing from the scope of the present invention.

In other exemplary embodiments, end stops and/or defined intermediate positions can be formed in a different way, for example with the help of one or more spring-loaded locking elements in the form of balls, cylinders, pins or the like, which engage in one or more corresponding depressions. One or more locking elements can be arranged on the shower body and one or more corresponding depressions on the shower head, or conversely one or more depressions can be arranged on the shower body and one or more corresponding locking elements on the shower head.
