Description

    Field of the invention
  • The present invention relates to a pocket-sized manual anchoring device to allow a user, who for example, is travelling standing in a city transport vehicle, to anchor him/herself to a support, in particular to a specific support bar fastened in the transport vehicle, thus avoiding any contact between the user and the surface of the support.
  • Background art
  • In certain transport vehicles, for example, city transport vehicles in which standing room is provided, the need is known for the user, or traveler, to hold onto specific fixed supports provided in the vehicle, for example, tubular structures, in order to remain stable during the movements of the vehicle itself.
  • The aforesaid transport vehicles may include, for example, subways, buses, trams, trains, water buses, ferries, etc., and generally are highly frequented transport vehicles, with frequent stops, in which the user is often standing and is holding onto something.
  • The support structures specifically provided and fastened in the aforesaid transport vehicles generally consist of tubular elements connected to one another comprising horizontal, vertical or inclined elements.
  • The user therefore is inclined to hold onto such structures with his/her hands, which, with increased probability, were probably held onto by many other users prior to him/her throughout the day.
  • Accordingly, there is an increased risk of contact transmission of pathogens, such as, for example, viruses and bacteria, due to the direct physical contact with the surfaces of the support structures previously contaminated from contact by another infected user.
  • This risk becomes very dangerous during a pandemic with the increased potential of contagion by contact, such as, for example, a Coronavirus.
  • Therefore, the need is strongly felt to provide a manual anchoring device to allow a user holding said device to anchor him/herself to a support, in particular in a public transport vehicle, thus avoiding any direct contact between the user and the surfaces of the support to which the user intends to anchor him/herself to.
  • Simultaneously, the need is felt to close the aforesaid device in a configuration of minimum overall dimensions when it is not being used so as to easily transport it in a pocket of a garment or in a small bag without any trouble.
  • The need is also felt to completely sanitize the aforesaid device after use so as to make it sterile for new use.
  • The support elements generally used in a public transport vehicle comprise straight tubular elements with smooth outer surfaces.
  • Therefore, the need is also felt for the aforesaid anchoring device to ensure an anchoring with a stable and secure gripping to the support to which the user intends anchoring him/herself, while avoiding the device from sliding along the support.
  • Summary of the invention
  • It is the object of the present invention to devise and provide a manual anchoring device which allows satisfying the aforesaid needs and at least partially overcoming the drawbacks described above with reference to the prior art.
  • In particular, it is a task of the present invention to provide a manual anchoring device to allow a user holding said device to anchor him/herself to a support fastened in a transport vehicle, thus avoiding any direct contact between the user and the exposed surfaces of said support.
  • It is another object of the present invention to provide a manual anchoring device capable of taking on a configuration with reduced overall dimensions when not in use so as to allow an easy transport thereof in the pocket of a garment, or in a bag, or to be used secondarily as a key ring.
  • It is a further object of the present invention to provide a manual anchoring device capable of ensuring stable anchoring to a support in a transport vehicle, while avoiding possible sliding of the device along an elongated tubular support, which conventionally is straight.
  • It is another object of the present invention to provide a manual anchoring device capable of allowing a complete sanitization thereof after a previous use and prior to a successive use.
  • It is another object again of the present invention to provide a manual anchoring device capable of being stably anchored to supports having different diameters.
  • These and further objects and advantages are achieved by means of a manual anchoring device according to the independent claim.
  • Further objects, solutions, and advantages are present in the embodiments described below and claimed in the dependent claims.

  • Those skilled in the art may make changes and adaptations to the embodiments of the device described above, or replace elements with others which are functionally equivalent, in order to meet contingent needs, without departing from the scope of the following claims. Each of the features described as belonging to a possible embodiment may be achieved irrespective of the other embodiments described.
  • The figures are not necessarily to scale.
  • All the features described here may be combined in any combination, except for the combinations in which at least some of such features mutually exclude one another.
