Definitions
- the invention relates to a paint cup for a paint spray gun according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Paint cups for paint spray guns have a usually closable container for paint, which can be coupled to a paint gun via a paint outflow opening, so that paint can flow from the paint cup into the paint gun (paint flow cup), where the paint is atomized by means of compressed air. So that when paint is removed from the paint cup, there is no negative pressure inside the paint cup, which makes it difficult for the paint to flow, such paint cups usually have a ventilation valve on the side facing away from the spray gun for atmospheric connection of the interior of the paint cup with the environment.
- a compensating valve is known from DE 10 2011 008316 A1, the compensating valve being integrated into a base of the paint cup made of plastic.
- Such ventilation valves require a high manufacturing cost.
- the object of the invention is to provide a paint cup with an economically manufacturable equalizing valve.
- the object is achieved by an object having the features of claim 1 and a method according to claim 16.
- a paint cup according to the invention for a spray gun comprises a paint container with a vessel wall and a base, the base being made of a natural fiber material so that it can be pierced.
- the bottom has a piercing point or area for ventilating the paint cup, which is pierced to start up the spray gun.
- the piercing point or area can preferably be identified optically and / or haptically.
- the identification can take place, for example, by means of a printed or embossed marking.
- the identification could, however, also take the form of an adhesive label.
- Natural fibrous material or vegetable materials are to be understood as meaning materials such as paper, cardboard, hard paper, cardboard, corrugated cardboard or composite materials that contain one of the above material layers.
- it is a cellulose-based fiber material.
- the natural fiber material is designed, for example, as a paper material that is made from wood pulp, cellulose, semi-cellulose or waste paper by gluing or pressing together.
- the vessel wall and the base are integral, that is, are not detachably connected to one another, the vessel wall can also advantageously be made from a natural fiber material.
- the piercing point or area can be designed identically to the rest of the base.
- the base has the same wall thickness throughout. This reduces the manufacturing effort to a minimum.
- the base can be designed to be essentially radially symmetrical and the piercing point or area can expediently be arranged eccentrically, e.g. in the edge area.
- An arrangement in the edge area has the advantage that the bottom near the edge is stiffer than in the middle and thus the bottom can be made thinner than if the piercing point or area is arranged in the middle.
- the piercing point or area can have a weakening.
- the floor around the piercing point or area may have reinforcement.
- the weakening can, for example, be introduced in the form of an embossed predetermined breaking point.
- the reinforcement can be designed, for example, in the form of an additional, in particular circular, reinforcement that is applied around the piercing point or area and is firmly connected to the base.
- marking and reinforcement with one another, for example in the form of a circular adhesive label which surrounds the piercing area in a marking manner and at the same time reinforces the surrounding area of the piercing point or area.
- the paint cup can expediently comprise a piercing spike, preferably essentially rotationally symmetrical, for penetrating the base.
- the piercing spike is designed in such a way that a ventilation valve for setting pressure equalization is formed by penetration of the bottom at the piercing point or area.
- the piercing spike preferably has a penetration tip by means of which it can pierce the ground.
- the piercing mandrel can also be provided with a thread, by means of which the piercing mandrel can be screwed into the ground.
- the piercing spike is designed in such a way that at least one closable ventilation channel is formed by penetration of the bottom at the piercing point or area.
- the ventilation channel can, for example, be embossed in the piercing pin as an axially running groove.
- the closable ventilation channel is passed through the piercing spike.
- a valve can preferably be arranged in the ventilation channel which, for example, is guided through the center of the piercing mandrel at least in sections. Examples include a beak, honey, diaphragm valve z. B. made of an elastomer that opens automatically when there is negative pressure inside the paint cup, and in the open state allows air to flow into the paint cup to equalize the pressure. It goes without saying that a valve design that can be opened and closed manually, such as a switching, plug-in, rotary, tilting or rotary valve, can also be used.
- a preferred variant is characterized by a simple and at the same time functionally reliable structure, in which the closable ventilation channel is guided on the outer circumference of the piercing pin.
- the piercing mandrel can preferably be designed in two or more stages with axially superimposed and stepped diameters so that the base is in contact with a first, second or further step of the piercing mandrel depending on the axial relative position of the piercing mandrel to the base. Since the bottom can be penetrated in two or more stages, different valve states can be realized, e.g. in one stage, non-sealing to produce pressure equalization (first state of penetration) and sealing in another stage (second state of penetration).
- the ventilation opening in the base can also be closed by another element, such as, for. B. a closure tab or a closure plug (optionally with screw-in thread), which can be introduced into the opening or applied to the opening after removing the piercing pin.
- the piercing pin advantageously has a primarily axially extending ventilation channel.
- the ventilation channel can extend over one or more stages of the piercing spike. A gas exchange between the inside of the container and the environment is possible via the ventilation duct.
- the ventilation channel or the piercing spike must be arranged in such a way that the ventilation channel extends through the floor.
- several ventilation channels can be provided. As a result, the cross-section of individual ventilation channels can be reduced and / or the maximum throughput of gas flow can be increased.
- the piercing spike can be made from a vegetable material or from a plastic.
- the piercing spike can also be made as a composite of different materials, e.g. as a metal-made hollow needle enclosed by a plastic.
- the piercing spike can be provided for single use or multiple use. In particular, the piercing spike is made in one piece from plastic by injection molding.
- the piercing spike that has not yet been inserted into the ground can preferably be connected to the paint container in such a way that it cannot be lost.
- it can be delivered as a unit with the paint container via a film hinge, a strap, a thread or the like.
- the piercing pin can expediently have modified sealing surfaces, e.g. in the form of one or more sealing rings or surfaces connected to or connected to the piercing pin, preferably made of an elastomeric material.
- the piercing spike has holding means in order to fix the piercing spike in at least one step (state of penetration) on the paint container; the holding means are preferably designed as a circumferential fixing groove.
- the holding means can also be arranged as expanding hooks based on the model of expanding dowels in the area of the tip of the piercing mandrel, which can reliably prevent the piercing mandrel from falling out after penetrating the bottom.
- the piercing pin preferably has at least four axially successive stages, the first stage being a penetration tip and the second stage being a ventilation dome (in particular with one or more groove-shaped ventilation channels), the third stage forms a sealing dome (in particular with a circumferential spherical sealing surface) and the fourth stage forms an actuating cap, which preferably protrudes on the outside of the base.
- a variant is particularly preferred in which a first circumferential fixing groove is arranged between the ventilation dome and the sealing dome and / or a second fixing groove is arranged between the sealing dome and the actuating cap.
- first (non-sealing, ventilating) state of penetration the piercing spike is fixed in that the base is arranged in the first fixing groove.
- second (sealing) penetration state the piercing spike is fixed in that the base is arranged in the second fixing groove.
- the piercing pin has one or more axially extending ventilation channels, preferably in the form of one or more axially extending grooves, which are preferably arranged on the circumference of the ventilation dome.
- the piercing pin has one or more axially extending ventilation channels that are located on an end face of the piercing pin, preferably on an end face of the sealing dome continue one or more radially extending ventilation channels.
- a variant of the invention has proven itself in which the vessel wall and / or the bottom are made of cardboard (weight per square meter over 200 g / m2), with the vessel wall and / or the bottom preferably also on the inside for use with a spray gun a liquid-resistant, preferably solvent-resistant coating, in particular made of plastic and / or aluminum, are provided.
- one-layer, two-layer or three-layer cardboard in particular single or double-laminated cardboard, may be mentioned as an advantageous paper material for the vessel wall and / or the bottom.
- the base can be integrated in a cover system that is detachably connected to the vessel wall.
- the base with the piercing point or area is independent of the rest of the paint container, so that the base can be manufactured from one material and the paint container from another material, for example.
- the lid system or at least further parts of the lid system consist of the same material as the base, for example a plant material.
- the production process can be significantly simplified compared to hybrid cover systems.
- a second base of the paint cup facing the spray gun can be designed conifrustically, i.e. in the shape of a section of a cone or similar to a section of a cone.
- the second base can optionally be provided with an interface for connection to the spray gun or for connection to an adapter for connection to the spray gun.
- the second base is expediently designed as a cover detachably connected to the paint cup.
- the color cup is suitable for use as an upside-down cup.
- the paint cup has a further opening, which can be closed with a further cover, for refilling paint on the side facing away from the spray gun.
- a method according to the invention provides that the above-described paint cup is used in one embodiment in such a way that the bottom is pierced for ventilation. Such a method saves the expenses for the production of a valve integrated in the floor.
- 1 to 3 show a paint cup according to the invention for a spray gun in one
- FIG. 4 to 6 detailed views of the cover system from Figs. 1 to 3 in a side
- FIG. 7 Front and a sectional view in exploded view, 7 shows a detailed view of the lid system in the state connected to the paint container,
- 9a and 9b show a detailed representation of a piercing spike in a first and a second state
- FIGS. 12 to 14 show a further variant embodiment of one according to the invention
- Color cup as an upside-down variant in a front and a sectional view.
- a paint container 3 for receiving paint with a base 5 and a paint cup 1 having a piercing spike 7 penetrating the base 5 is shown.
- the paint container 3 comprises an outer, here circular-cylindrical vessel wall 4, on the underside of which a funnel-shaped extension with an outlet opening 20 for paint adjoins.
- the outlet opening 20 is detachably connected to the paint spray gun 2 via a corresponding connection. Due to the force of gravity, the paint located in the paint container 3 flows into the spray gun 2 and is there until it is entrained and atomized by a compressed air stream provided by the spray gun 2.
- the paint cup 1 has on the upper side, e.g. the side facing away from the spray gun 2, an opening 30 designed as a refill opening, which is closed by a cover system 9. With the lid system 9 removed, paint can be refilled at any time via the opening 30, even when the paint cup 1 is placed on the spray gun 2.
- the refill opening 30 is formed by the end 4 'of the vessel wall 4.
- the opening 30 is closed by the cover system 9 including the cover 10 and the counter ring 14.
- the cover 10 comprises a base 5 with a piercing area 6 which, in the illustrations in FIGS. 1 to 3, is pierced by a piercing spike 7 in a first non-sealing (ventilating) state of penetration.
- the piercing area 6 is visually identified, for example, by a printed circular ring.
- the piercing mandrel 7 provides an atmospheric connection between the container interior of the paint cup 1 and the Environment via a ventilation duct 8, not shown here. Further details with regard to the piercing spike 7 and the base 5 are dealt with in the explanations relating to FIGS. 8 and 9a to 9b.
- the cover system 9 which is shown in FIGS. 4 to 6 in excerpts and in an exploded view as well as in FIG. 7 in the assembled state, is constructed as follows:
- the lid 10 comprises a U-shaped flea collar 15 with an inner and an outer cylinder collar 16 and 17, in which the counter ring 14 and an end section 4 'of the vessel wall 4 are held in a bracing manner.
- the counter ring 14 and the flea collar 15 are releasably connected via corresponding threads 18 and 19, which are located on the outer circumference of the end of the vessel wall 4 and on the inner circumference of the outer cylinder collar 17.
- the inner cylinder collar 16 is wedge-shaped so that a tapering gap is formed between the inner and outer cylinder collars 16 and 17, in which the counter ring 14 and the end section 4 of the vessel wall 4 are radially clamped or braced with increasing screwing.
- the base 5 is formed on the flea collar 15 and extends in the shape of a circular disk over the area enclosed by the flea collar 15.
- the bottom 5 is integrally formed on the flea collar 15 or formed with the flea collar 15. Like the flea collar 15 itself, it consists of a natural fiber material such as paper or cardboard.
- the cover 10 can consist, for example, of a cell particle melange that is pressed together.
- the cell particle melange can expediently be enriched with reinforcing compounds or fillers such as a resin-based adhesive or the like (similar to a composite chipboard). This increases the strength and enables, for example, the introduction of a resistant thread into the outer collar 17 of the hollow collar 15 of the cover 10.
- the hollow collar 15 and base 5 are made in two or more parts.
- the hollow collar 15 can be made as an injection molding from a suitable plastic, on which the base 5, made of natural fiber material, is attached to the top (side facing away from the spray gun 2) or the underside (the side facing the spray gun 2) of the hollow collar 15. is laminated.
- a floor 5 made of natural fiber material attached in this way has greater stability than, for example, a comparably attached floor 5 made of a plastic film.
- the base 5 can also be made opaque or translucent or transparent. Materials made of cellulose or vegetable materials suitable for this purpose and connectors connecting these materials, such as resin-based adhesives, for example, are known to the person skilled in the art.
- the stability of the base 5 enables the use of a piercing spike 7 with which the piercing point or area 6 of the base 5 can be pierced.
- the piercing point or area 6 is arranged here centrally or radially in the middle on the base 5 and could be made recognizable, for example, by a colored marking. However, it could also be arranged off-center and in particular close to the edge in order to reduce the flexibility of the base 5 and to increase the resistance of the base 5 in the event of penetration.
- the area of the base 5 could also be reinforced in areas around the piercing point or area 6, e.g. by a laminated second, circular ring-shaped layer. This makes it possible to prevent or at least reduce the risk of the floor 5 tearing in the event of penetration.
- the base 5 is pierced in the piercing point or area 6 with the piercing mandrel 7 in a non-sealing manner (first state of penetration):
- the piercing mandrel 7 is essentially rotationally symmetrical built up along its longitudinal axis from the penetration tip 21, a ventilation dome 22 with a first diameter d1, a sealing dome 23 with a second diameter d2 and a grip area with the grip plate 25 (actuation cap).
- the ventilation dome 22 extend four ventilation channels 8, each designed as an axial groove.
- ventilation channels 8 ' are designed as radially radial grooves, which continue the axial ventilation channels 8, so that the ventilation channels 8 fluidically with connected to the atmosphere.
- the piercing spike 7 is held in the first penetration state in that the base 5 is captured in a fixing groove 26.
- the piercing pin 7 is shifted from the non-sealing to a sealing position (second penetration state):
- second penetration state For this purpose, the sealing dome 23 of the piercing pin 7 is pushed further into or through the base 5 of the lid 10, until the lateral surface of the sealing dome 23 comes into sealing contact with the outer edge of the piercing area 6.
- the jacket surface of the sealing dome 23 seals the piercing area 6.
- the piercing spike 7 is held in the second penetration state by trapping the bottom 5 in a fixing groove 27.
- the piercing pin 7 can be reset from the second penetration state to the first penetration state. It goes without saying, however, that there is definitely the risk that the piercing spike 7 does not remain in the first state of penetration in a comparably stable manner due to the widening of the hole in the base 5.
- the piercing pin 7 could also have one or more barbs or bar-like shaped elements arranged, for example, on the outer surface of the first step 22.
- 9a (first state of penetration) and 9b (second state of penetration) show a second embodiment of the piercing mandrel 7, in which the piercing mandrel 7, in addition to the ventilation dome 22 and the sealing dome 23, also has a third dome 24 within the handle 25 with a third diameter d3, the diameter ratios d1 ⁇ d2 ⁇ d3.
- the bottom 5 of the lid 10 in the piercing mandrel 7 of FIG. 9 in the second penetration state (FIG. 8b) is not only over the sealing contact of the lateral surface of the sealing mandrel 23, but also with the bottom 5 or the piercing area 6 facing, the end face of the third dome 24 is sealed.
- the third dome 24 thus enables a higher sealing performance.
- the end face of the third dome 24 could comprise further sealing means, for example a sealing ring made of an elastomeric material and inserted in an annular groove.
- FIGS. 10 to 11 and 12 to 14 Two further exemplary embodiments in upside-down variants are shown in FIGS. 10 to 11 and 12 to 14.
- Upside-down meant that the opening 4 of the paint container 3 is attached to the side facing the spray gun 2, the opening 4 being closed or closable with a cover 10 'having an outlet opening 20 for connection to the spray gun 2.
- the lid systems 9 of these exemplary embodiments are in the form of clip lids with fastening elements 11 (FIGS. 10, 11) which are hinged to the lid 10 'and encompass a sealing bead 12 of the paint container 3 or are comparable to the lid system 9 of the first exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 7 designed as a cover 10 'with counter ring 14 (FIGS. 12 to 14).
- the bottom 5 of the paint cup 1 can be penetrated by the piercing spike 7, the bottoms 5 here not being detachable, but rather are formed integrally with the vessel wall 4 of the paint container 3.
- the vessel wall 4 is made of the same material as the base 5.
- the paint container 3 can be designed with a stand-up collar 13 on the bottom side, see FIG.
