Un ouvrant d'une caisse de véhicule, comme une porte, doit, dans un cycle de production, être écarté ou rapproché de la caisse plusieurs fois durant ce cycle et immobilisé aux extrémités de ce débattement, notamment dans son état le plus proche de la caisse. Or, à ce stade, il n'est équipé ni de serrure ni de poignée de manœuvre. Il est connu d'installer sur l'ouvrant, au moyen d'un bâti de fixation, une sorte de serrure provisoire, pour assurer l'immobilisation susdite, et un organe de son actionnement. Cette serrure est le plus souvent formée par une sorte de pêne débordant latéralement de l'ouvrant pour venir s'enclencher derrière une tôle de la caisse qui borde l'ouverture de la caisse que l'ouvrant est destiné à obturer. La plupart du temps, le pêne fait face à une butée portée par le dispositif qui, elle, vient au contact de cette tôle en avant de celle-ci, de sorte que, lorsque le pêne est engagé derrière le bord de l'ouverture de la caisse, ce bord est logé entre le pêne et cette butée avec plus ou moins de jeu selon les exigences du constructeur. Lors de l'ouverture de l'ouvrant, le pêne est escamoté vers l'intérieur de l'ouverture au moyen d'un organe qui en commande une translation ou, plus souvent, une rotation à l'encontre de l'effet d'un organe élastique de rappel. Dispositif d'immobilisation d'un ouvrant (5) de véhicule automobile articulé à la caisse (6) de ce dernier, dans une position proche de ladite caisse, comportant un bâti (3, 4) rapporté sur une face intérieure de l'ouvrant et formant le support d'un pêne (7) apte, dans un premier état, à être logé derrière un bord (6a) de caisse délimitant l'ouverture à laquelle l'ouvrant est associé, et dans un deuxième état, à être escamoté pour pouvoir contourner ledit bord, lors de l'éloignement de l'ouvrant, le pêne étant d'une part, soumis à l'effort d'un organe de rappel (9) tendant à le faire saillir dans sa position d'immobilisation de l'ouvrant et, d'autre part, étant relié à un élément de manœuvre tendant à l'escamoter à l'encontre de l'effort susdit, le bâti (3,4) comportant, en regard du pêne, une butée (10) destinée à venir au contact dudit bord (6a) de l'ouverture, caractérisé en ce que le dispositif comporte une gâchette (13) de blocage du pêne (7) dans son deuxième état, dont l'armement est assuré par la manœuvre du pêne (7) en direction de son deuxième état et dont l'effacement est assuré par le bord (6a) susdit de l'ouverture de la caisse, jouant le rôle d'une détente, libérant ainsi le pêne en direction de la butée susdite..
