- une structure de confinement, permettant un confinement au moins partiel de la vapeur, portée au moins en partie ou totalement par l'autre desdits bras, la structure de confinement présentant de préférence au moins un renfoncement situé en regard de ladite au moins une sortie de vapeur.

La mèche de cheveux est alors démêlée en premier lors du procédé de lissage et les fibres capillaires sont bien ordonnées avant de subir le traitement par la vapeur, ce qui permet d'améliorer l'efficacité de ce dernier. Ensuite, la mèche de cheveux passe entre les surfaces de contact qui sont maintenues fermées afin d'appliquer une pression sur cette dernière et de compléter le procédé de lissage.
