Description

The present invention relates to the field of concealment systems for window or door type openings made in the walls of buildings, said systems being more precisely rolling shutters with slats. The invention relates more precisely to said blades, which are fixed to each other by articulated connections so as to constitute the apron of the rolling shutter.

It is this apron, when it is moved by manual or automatic drive, which manages the degree of shuttering of the opening since it can be unrolled/rolled up, at the user's discretion, for more concealment. or less complete opening. The blades that compose it must assume several functions, starting with mechanical functions aimed at ensuring sufficient rigidity in operation. They can in fact be subject to various constraints, during their combined movements to roll up/unroll the shutters in/out of their storage box, during the assembly of the aprons or even when they are in contact with weather phenomena (wind ) violent, constraints which justify the need to present suitable mechanical rigidity.

The shutters are also manufactured in very variable dimensions, since they are supposed to be suitable for fitting small windows as well as large bay windows. In the latter case, the mechanical resistance of the blades, particularly bending, is an all the more important issue as they must remain light for reasons of maneuverability. They are, for example, made of aluminum or PVC, materials which have mechanical properties adapted to the use for which they are intended, combined with great lightness and very good recyclability.

The rolling shutter slats are also designed to play an acoustic role, so that the shutter improves the sound performance of the building, in terms of insulation, when it is deployed. They can thus be equipped with acoustically insulating materials, which are also selected to reinforce the mechanical resistance of the slats. But the question of the shutters' own noise also arises, the hollow slats acting as a resonance box and themselves being the source of noise when they hit the slides under the effect of the wind, or in the event of bad weather. rain or hail type.

Thus, it is known to equip rolling shutter slats comprising for example an outer casing of profiled aluminum strip with an inner core composed of foam, for example polyurethane. The main function of the foam is to maintain the aluminum walls at a substantially constant distance when the blade is subjected to a bending or compression force. If it were devoid of foam, a blade subjected to such an effort would see its exterior walls move closer together, causing a significant drop in the overall rigidity of the blade and its inertia. Such a material then significantly improves the acoustic properties of the shutter, the foam being in itself a good acoustic insulator and therefore contributing to increasing the sound insulation ability of the shutter.

Une lame de volet roulant selon le préambule de la revendication 1 est connue de EP0500059A2 .This structure with an external metal envelope and internal foam core, adequate and efficient on a functional level, however poses problems on an environmental level. The use of insulating polyurethane foam injected into the blades considerably complicates the recyclability of the blade, because it is in practice very difficult to separate the foam from the aluminum. In addition, polyurethane foam is not recyclable; we simply burn it and treat the fumes as much as possible. Nowadays, it has become essential to provide for this aspect on products marketed or to be marketed, under penalty of jeopardizing their future on markets which, if they are not already, will soon be regulated in this regard. A rolling shutter blade according to the preamble of claim 1 is known from EP0500059A2 .

The present invention aims to remedy this insufficiency, without compromising the qualities and properties required for the blades, in terms of mechanical resistance as well as with regard to sound insulation. In short, the invention proposes a blade which has a sound efficiency of the same order as that of its predecessors, forming an acoustic screen of the same degree, with a structure which does not alter its mechanical qualities of resistance in particular to bending and to the compression.

For this purpose, the invention, which conventionally relates to a rolling shutter blade with acoustic gain, articulated to at least one adjacent blade to constitute a rolling shutter apron capable of closing an opening made in a wall, each blade having long sides and short sides provided with means for attaching to at least one adjacent blade, said sides delimiting an interior volume of the blade, is such that at least one of the long sides is provided with at least one minus one longitudinal fold extending, inside the volume, towards the other long side, said longitudinal fold consists of a part folded back on itself and forming a double thickness.

Thus, instead of an interior lining made of plastic foam to be extracted from the blade at the end of its life, foam which is itself a source of direct or indirect pollution (via a recycling process), the blades of the present invention present a configuration which only involves, inside the structure, the material of the blade envelope. It is a double simplification, at the level of the manufacturing process which frees itself from all the operations linked to the injection of separate material, as well as in the structure of each blade, now single-material and entirely recyclable. The configuration of the invention therefore considerably simplifies recycling.

Structurally, the longitudinal folds developing on the interior face of a long side towards the interior face of the opposite long side limit, like the injected foam of the prior art, the coming together of said sides and the subsequent weakening of the resistance of the blade to certain mechanical stresses such as bending or transverse compression. It should be noted that within the meaning of the invention, the fold consists of a part folded on itself and forming a double thickness, in accordance with the definitions in force for a fold, which includes a notion of contact of the walls or sides next to the fold after folding.

Acoustically, the interior folds also have a real effect in the sense that they first modify the resonance box constituted by the interior volume of the blades. Acoustically, the configuration of the invention provides real gain at the level of the resonance box. The acoustic performance can also be further improved, depending on the structural configuration of the folds in the volume of the slats and the mechanical treatment that it is possible to subject them to, as will be seen in more detail below.

Thus, on a structural level, the free end of each fold can be in contact with the other long side, making any even limited rapprochement of the long sides impossible. This is a mechanical optimization, thereby increasing the overall rigidity of the blades. It is also a configuration which improves acoustic performance, the interior volume then being clearly delimited in smaller compartments, less likely to create resonance. The walls are less likely to vibrate, and friction between the end of the plies and the opposite long side is likely to dissipate acoustic energy, potentially leading to noise attenuation.

In addition, as part of the mechanical treatment, each ply is preferably pre-stressed, which contributes to optimizing the result in terms of acoustic insulation. Stressing the folds in the interior volume of the slats makes it possible to maintain acoustic performance despite the absence of foam. The pre-tension of the configuration also makes the blades less likely to vibrate.

According to a possible configuration, each fold can comprise two sections with an orientation substantially perpendicular to the portion of the long side from which it comes, connected at a top of the fold in the vicinity or in contact with the other long side. The profile of the envelope, at the level of the long side from which the fold starts, then has a right-angled fold which extends into an interior section, which returns on itself after the top in a second section connected to the long side to which belongs the fold by a fold of the same angle.

Preferably, the two sides are joined together, which gives the fold greater rigidity and mechanical resistance. The abutment of such compact folds on the long opposite sides constitutes a mechanical context favorable to the stressing mentioned above.

More preferably, in the previous configurations, the blades are made of aluminum.

Other aims and advantages of the present invention will become apparent during the description which follows, which relates to embodiments which are given only by way of indicative and non-limiting examples.

The understanding of this description will also be made easier by referring to the drawings attached in the appendix and in which:

There figure 2 represents a perspective view of one embodiment of a blade according to the present invention, devoid of foam but provided with interior folds.

In reference to the figure 1 , the blades 1 of rolling shutters according to the invention, comprise two long sides 2, 3 delimiting, with short sides 4, 5, an interior volume 6. Given that the path followed by a portion of apron made up of such blades 1 juxtaposed can be rectilinear, for example when it is opposite the opening to be closed, or curvilinear during winding aiming to “store” the rolling shutter in a box surmounting the opening, the juxtaposed blades 1 must be articulated between them. The articulation allows a pivoting of amplitude which can be limited but must nevertheless be sufficient to allow the winding and unwinding of the apron in the shutter box, typically around a winding cylinder of a few centimeters in diameter.

The articulation of the blades 1 is carried out in practice along their short longitudinal sides 4, 5, at the levels of which each blade 1 is provided with hooking means which are different from one edge to the other but complementary. This complementarity allows the blades 1 to be assembled together in a juxtaposed position, capable of constituting the complete deck together. The means of attachment between blades 1 are very generally and in principle in the form of hooks 7/housings 8 each configured to cooperate respectively with a housing 8/hook 7 on the short side 4, 5 of the adjacent blade 1.

More specifically, the hooks 7 in principle equip one of the edges of a blade 1 and are able to attach in the housing 8 of the edge facing the adjacent blade 1. The housings 8 are in the form of slides intended to receive, for example by nesting, the hook 7 of the adjacent blade 1. Thus and successively, in all configurations, a blade n receives within its slide 8 the hook 7 located along a short side 4 of a blade n-1, while its hook 7 cooperates with the slide 8 located on the short opposite side 5 of a blade n+1.

As far as the invention is concerned, it is the central part of the blades 1 delimited by the long sides 2, 3 and the short sides 4, 5 which is the object of the invention. In there figure 1 , the interior volume 6 delimited by these sides 2 to 5 in aluminum strip is filled with solidified foam 9 of the polyurethane foam type which has the mechanical function of stiffening the blade 1, in particular making it possible to maintain the aluminum walls at a constant distance when the blade is subjected to a bending or compression force. Secondarily, as mentioned, this injected foam 9 serves as sound insulation (it has little effect in thermal insulation, the short sides 4, 5 and the attachment means 7, 8 creating thermal bridges). This solution, technically satisfactory on these two levels respectively acoustically and mechanically, is not from the point of view of the recycling requirements which tend to be imposed everywhere.

According to the invention, visible in figure 2 , the structure is different and no longer has interior foam, it is exclusively made of aluminum. In reality, the structure of blade 1 of the figure 2 does not change with regard to the short sides 4, 5 or even the inter-slat fixing methods 1, which remain identical: a longitudinal hook 7 and a slide 8. This is an additional advantage of the invention, in the to the extent that the new blades 1 are perfectly compatible with what already exists, allowing maintenance operations without the obligation to keep stocks of old products.

In the example shown, the modifications concern one of the long sides 3, which is provided with folds 10, 11 developing inside the volume 6, towards the second long side 2. These folds 10, 11 give rise to, on the external face of the long side 3, longitudinal grooves which are shown parallel 12, 13 at the locations of the inward folds of the two sides respectively 101, 102 and 111, 112 forming the two folds 10 and 11. Beyond the example shown, the folds are not necessarily parallel, this is not a functional necessity. The sections 101, 102 and 111, 112 respectively are joined together, oriented substantially perpendicular to the long side 3, and move towards the opposite long side 2, against which they rest at the level of the vertices 103, 113 of the folds 10, 11 in the version shown. We find the definition of the fold in the joining - therefore the contact - of the sections.

L'inertie des plis 10, 11 modifie l'impédance acoustique de la lame 1, et permet de se passer des propriétés d'isolation de la mousse polyuréthaneFolds 10, 11, in the structure illustrated in figure 2 , that is to say involving contact with the large opposite side 2, are placed under stress, which results in increasing the rigidity of the blade 1 and also improving its performance acoustics. In fact, this solution which partitions the interior volume 6 by prestressed interior partitions 10, 11 makes it possible to maintain the acoustic barrier previously obtained with the foam 9 (see in figure 1 ). The inertia of the folds 10, 11 modifies the acoustic impedance of the blade 1, and makes it possible to dispense with the insulation properties of the polyurethane foam

The solution of the invention as represented in figure 2 is not exhaustive of the invention, which includes variants of shape and structure for example concerning the shape of the folds, or even their orientation, since stressing can be carried out. It should also be noted that the methods of implementing the invention as represented only show folds belonging to the same long side. However, nothing prevents the implementation of a variant with folds coming from the two long sides 2, 3, which interpenetrate.
