Definitions
- the invention relates to a connector arrangement with a connector and a cable connected to the connector.
- the connector arrangement is particularly suitable for cables with at least one stranded pair of inner conductors.
- connector systems are used to detachably connect cables to electrical components or to another cable.
- Connector systems create an electrically conductive and mechanically stable connection between the cable and the desired connection partner.
- contact elements are generally mounted on the cable, which can be coupled to complementary contact elements on the connection partner.
- the desire for detachable connections poses a particular problem. This is due in particular to the fact that the connector systems required for this represent fault points with regard to the electrical properties. For example, the attenuation of a high-frequency signal to be transmitted is regularly adversely affected by a plug connection.
- a connector assembly including a connector and a cable having first and second conductors for carrying a differential signal.
- the cable has a first section and the connector has a second section in which the pair of conductors has plug contacts.
- the cable is fastened to the connector at a connector-side end of the first section.
- the conductors of the pair of conductors are attached to the conductors of the connector at a cable end of the second section.
- An intermediate section is formed between the first section and the second section, the pair of conductors being surrounded by an outer conductor in the intermediate section.
- the outer conductor has, in at least part of the intermediate portion, a deformation that reduces a distance between the outer conductor and the conductors or a distance between the conductors in a region of the deformation.
- the DE 10 2018 132 823 A1 discloses a cable connector arrangement comprising a cable connector and an electrical cable with a plurality of individual lines each having insulation and an electrical conductor, comprising a front section which is set up for connection to a corresponding mating connector, a rear section in which the individual lines are covered by a cable sheath are surrounded and an intermediate, middle section.
- the electrical conductors of two of the individual lines have a first mutual, nominal distance in the rear section and have a second mutual distance in the front section, which is greater than the first distance, the distance between the electrical conductors of the two individual lines being in increased in the middle section towards the front section.
- At least one pressing means is formed in the middle section in order to to press at least the two individual lines together so that their insulation undergoes mechanical deformation.
- EP 3 723 212 A1 discloses a connector assembly having a connector and a cable connected to the connector according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a connector assembly includes a connector and a cable connected to the connector.
- the cable has first and second insulated inner conductors. Both the first and the second inner conductor can comprise one or more electrically conductive wires which are surrounded by insulation.
- the inner conductors are preferably stranded together and preferably form an inner conductor pair for the transmission of a differential signal.
- the first and the second inner conductor are surrounded by a shield.
- the shielding surrounds both inner conductors together.
- the shielding can be a wire mesh, for example.
- a shielding foil can be arranged between the shielding and the first and second inner conductors or between the shielding and the jacket, which also jointly surrounds both inner conductors.
- the shielding is in turn surrounded by a jacket.
- the first and second inner conductors are separated from the shield and in an end portion of the cable exposed to the coat.
- the shielding can, for example, be partially removed, partially widened and/or folded over.
- the coat is preferably removed throughout the end portion.
- the connector has an outer conductor sleeve, a first inner conductor contact and a second inner conductor contact.
- the first and second inner conductor contacts are arranged within the outer conductor sleeve.
- the first and the second inner conductor contact each have a plug-in section, in which the first and the second inner conductor contact can be connected to a complementary inner conductor contact of a mating connector.
- first and second inner conductor contact have a connecting section in which the first inner conductor contact is electrically conductively connected to the first inner conductor and the second inner conductor contact is electrically conductively connected to the second inner conductor.
- insulation of the inner conductors can be removed in the area of the connection areas of the inner conductor contacts.
- the inner conductors can be connected to the inner conductor contacts by means of crimping, for example.
- the plug-in section and the connecting section of the first and second inner conductor contacts are each connected to one another by a transition section.
- first and the second inner conductor contact are arranged parallel to one another both in the plug-in section and in the connection section.
- at least the plug-in sections are arranged parallel to a plug-in direction of the connector. It is preferred at this point that the respective connection section is arranged parallel to the respective plug-in section.
- the first and the second inner conductor contact have a first contact spacing in the plug-in section and a second contact spacing in the connecting section. In this case, the first contact spacing is greater than the second contact spacing.
- a transition from the first contact gap to the second contact gap occurs in the transition section. The transition takes place continuously over a length of the transition section. Continuous can be understood to mean that there is a smooth, in particular linear, transition without jumps and/or steps.
- the first and second inner conductors are arranged parallel to one another in the end section and inside the outer conductor sleeve. If it is a cable with inner conductors stranded together, it is preferable for the stranding of the inner conductors to be broken up at least in the end section. Preferably, a portion of the end portion in which the first and second inner conductors is parallel arranged relative to one another are longer than a portion of the end portion in which the first and second inner conductors are arranged non-parallel to one another.
- the portion of the end portion where the first and second inner conductors are arranged parallel to each other is longer than any other portion of the end portion where the first and second inner conductors are arranged non-parallel to each other.
- the first and second inner conductors can be arranged parallel to one another throughout the end section.
- the first and second inner conductors are arranged in the end section at a distance from the outer conductor sleeve, so that the first and second inner conductor contacts are arranged without contact inside the outer conductor sleeve with respect to the outer conductor sleeve.
- the first and second inner conductors are arranged in the end section at a line spacing from one another that is equal to the second contact spacing.
- the line spacing in the end section is preferably constant, with the line spacing preferably being equal to the sum of the thickness of the insulation of the first inner conductor and the thickness of the insulation of the second inner conductor.
- Contact distance can be understood as the shortest distance between an imaginary center point of a cut surface of the first inner conductor contact running perpendicular to a main direction of extent to an imaginary center point of a cut surface of the second inner conductor contact running perpendicular to a main direction of extent.
- Line spacing can be understood as the shortest distance between an imaginary center point of a cut surface of the first inner conductor running perpendicular to a main direction of extent to an imaginary center point of a cut surface of the second inner conductor running perpendicular to a main direction of extent.
- the connector arrangement according to the invention allows a connection option to be created which has a significantly lesser effect on the electrical properties of the cable. Furthermore, the structure of the connector arrangement is characterized by a low degree of complexity, so that the manufacture of the connector arrangement and the connection with a cable is possible in a significantly simpler and more cost-effective manner in comparison to solutions that are known in the prior art.
- the plug-in sections of the first and second inner conductor contact can be arranged in a main plane.
- the connecting sections and/or the transition sections can also be arranged in the main plane.
- it is of particular advantage if the first and the second inner conductor are arranged in the main plane.
- the plug-in sections, the transition sections, the connecting sections and/or the first and second inner conductors are preferably arranged in the main plane when their imaginary center points of the cut surfaces running perpendicular to the main direction of extension are arranged on the main plane.
- the first and the second inner conductor contact can be arranged symmetrically, in particular mirror-symmetrically, to one another, it being possible for the plane of symmetry to be arranged perpendicular to the main plane and parallel to the plug-in direction.
- the first and the second inner conductor are also arranged symmetrically to the plane of symmetry.
- the plane of symmetry preferably runs between the first and the second inner conductor contact or inner conductor.
- the first and/or the second inner conductor contact can enclose an angle with the plane of symmetry in the transition section, the tangent function of which is equal to the result of a quotient, the dividend of which is formed by the difference between the first contact spacing and the second contact spacing, and the divisor of which is formed by twice the length of the transition section is.
- the first contact distance forms the minuend and the second contact distance forms the subtrahend.
- the length of the transition section preferably relates to the extent of the transition section in one dimension parallel to the direction of insertion.
- One leg of the angle is preferably formed by the plane of symmetry itself and one leg by the inner conductor contact in the transition section. If the transition section does not have a linear shape, the leg is preferably formed by the main extension direction of the transition section.
- the first and the second inner conductor can be arranged within a shielding foil in the end section. It is preferred here that the first and second inner conductors are arranged together in a shielding film. Furthermore, it is preferred that the shielding foil is removed in the end section only in a region of the inner conductors in which the insulation of the inner conductors has been removed.
- the connector may include an insulator having first and second mating chambers.
- the insulator can be arranged inside the outer conductor sleeve.
- the first inner conductor contact can be arranged in the first plug-in chamber and the second inner conductor contact can be arranged in the second plug-in chamber.
- the inner conductor contacts are preferably connected to the insulator in a form-fitting manner.
- the plug-in chambers are preferably arranged parallel to one another and parallel to the plug-in direction.

- the first and/or second plug-in chamber can also have recesses for positive connection with the respective inner conductor contact arranged in the plug-in chamber.
- the inner conductor contact can have latching lugs, for example, which engage in the recesses.
- the recesses are preferably arranged in the first plug-in chamber section.
- the outer conductor sleeve can have a sleeve element with at least one fastening element on a side facing away from the insulator.
- the collar element can be arranged on the outer conductor sleeve, for example as an overmolding around the outer conductor sleeve.
- the fastening element is preferably formed in one piece and from the same material as the sleeve element.
- the fastening element is preferably used to connect the connector to a connector housing.
- the fastening element can be embodied as a snap connector that can be releasably connected to the connector housing.
- the plug connector can be connected to the cable via a compression sleeve.
- the cable and the plug connector are preferably arranged inside the compression sleeve and are preferably connected to the compression sleeve in that the compression sleeve is non-positively connected to the cable and the connector binder by reducing the diameter is.
- the compression sleeve can have areas of different diameters. It is preferred that the compression sleeve has a larger diameter in an area in which the plug connector is arranged inside the compression sleeve than in an area in which the cable is arranged. Furthermore, it is preferred that the compression sleeve is non-detachably connected to the outer conductor sleeve and to the jacket.
- the shielding can be arranged between the compression sleeve and the outer conductor sleeve.
- the outer conductor sleeve can have a profile on a side facing the compression sleeve, into which the shielding is at least partially pressed. Furthermore, it is preferred that the shielding is widened in the end section, so that a particularly problem-free arrangement of the shielding between the compression sleeve and the outer conductor sleeve is possible. Furthermore, it is preferred that the outer conductor sleeve is electrically conductively connected to the shielding.
- the outer conductor sleeve can have a compression area in which the outer conductor sleeve is connected to the compression sleeve and the shielding.
- the outer conductor sleeve can have an intermediate area adjoining the pressing area.
- the first and second inner conductors can be at a greater distance from the outer conductor sleeve in the pressing area than in the intermediate area. It is particularly preferred that the distance between the inner conductor and the outer conductor sleeve remains constant in the intermediate area and/or in the pressing area.
- the outer conductor sleeve has a constant inner diameter in the pressing area and/or in the intermediate area, but the outer conductor sleeve has a larger inner diameter in the pressing area than in the intermediate area.
- the distance between the inner conductor and the outer conductor sleeve can be understood to mean the shortest distance from the inner conductor to the outer conductor sleeve.
- the inner conductor contacts can be at a distance from the outer conductor sleeve that is greater than the distance between the inner conductors and the outer conductor sleeve in the intermediate area. This is preferably ensured in that the outer conductor sleeve has a larger inner diameter in the area of the exposed inner conductor than in the intermediate area.
- the intermediate area preferably adjoins the pressing area in the insertion direction.
- the distance between the inner conductor contacts in the connection section and the outer conductor sleeve is preferably constant along the main extension direction of the connection section.
- the inner conductor contacts can be at a distance from the outer conductor sleeve which is equal to the distance between the inner conductor and the outer conductor sleeve in the pressing area. Furthermore, it is preferred that the outer conductor sleeve has an inner diameter in the pressing area that is equal to the inner diameter that the outer conductor sleeve has in the area in which the inner conductor contacts are arranged.
