Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for operating a washing machine and a washing machine.
- the invention relates to a method for operating a washing machine with a tub for holding washing liquid, a ribless drum rotatably mounted in the tub for holding laundry, a motor for driving the drum and a control or regulating device, the method having steps for recognizing of washing slipping and/or rolling on the drum, and a corresponding automatic washing machine.
- washing machine drums have ribs inside.
- a rib also known as a driver, is a part of the drum which, when the drum moves, also sets the laundry inside the drum in motion, i.e. takes it with it.
- the rib is usually a plate in the drum on which the laundry located in the drum hangs up to a certain height when the drum is rotated and then falls down again and in this way is swirled around and rearranged.
- ribs in the drum which are arranged at predetermined distances from one another. The ribs are essential for the laundry to be rearranged during a wash program execution. However, the ribs are additional components that add cost. Therefore, a ribless drum is desirable.
- Methods for detecting slipping and/or rolling laundry are known from applications that have not yet been published, in which one or more variables are measured with a drum rotating at a constant or varying speed and the measured variables are subjected to frequency analyzes or standard deviation calculations in order to identify whether the Laundry slips and/or rolls.
- the detection of slipping and/or rolling washing can take place in particular in the subcritical speed range, for example on a speed plateau of less than 150 rpm .
- the methods provide reliable results.
- At lower measurement plateaus for example when the drum is rotated at a speed of 95 rpm , false detections often occur. That is, slipping and/or rolling laundry is detected, although the laundry is actually largely in contact with the drum shell. The reason for this behavior is the portion of the laundry load that is further in towards the axis of rotation of the drum.
- the document WO 2017/020164 A1 describes a washing machine and method for detecting imbalances in a drum type washing machine without the need for a sensor.
- the method includes acquiring the torque and determining the average torque values when the drum is operated at a low constant speed, and acquiring the average torque values and the minimum value of the average torque values when the drum is operated at a constant acceleration.
- the method determines whether the difference between each average torque value and the minimum value is greater than a preset imbalance threshold and, if so, identifies a dynamic imbalance on the drum.
- the invention therefore addresses the problem of providing a method for operating a washing machine and a washing machine with a ribless drum in which slipping and/or rolling laundry when the drum is rotated, particularly at a speed in the subcritical speed range, is low RPM range can be detected, the detection should be carried out as quickly as possible.
- the advantages that can be achieved with the invention consist, in addition to recognizing whether the laundry is slipping and/or rolling, in the fact that the recognition requires little time.
- the method makes use of the fact that laundry that slides and/or rolls on the drum shell has a different average torque requirement for driving the drum than laundry that is already largely lying against the drum shell.
- a method which reliably detects laundry that is slipping and/or rolling. Error detections are prevented or at least reduced. This saves time for unnecessary redistribution of the laundry in the drum. Furthermore, the method has a high detection accuracy of slipping and/or rolling laundry when the application speed is reached, at which the laundry is in contact with the drum casing due to a centrifugal force that is greater than gravity. Significant time savings are already achieved through the reduced number of error detections. With this method, the washing machine can be operated with the ribless drum. The method reliably detects slipping and/or rolling washing, even if the drum is rotated at a relatively low speed, for example 95 rpm .
- a ribless drum is a drum that does not have a rib or flight inside it. However, it can have other elevations and/or depressions that do not have the shape of the plate-shaped rib or driver.
- the drum preferably the drum casing, preferably has indentations and/or elevations other than a rib. It preferably has honeycombs, each of which is designed as an elevation or depression.
- the low-pass filter is preferably selected in such a way that only the mean value remains. As a result, the torque is filtered with the low-pass filter, so that the filtered torque corresponds to the average torque.
- the laundry is slipping and/or rolling in the drum when the average or filtered torque is greater than a predetermined threshold value.
- the inventors have found that laundry that slides and/or rolls on the drum shell requires a higher average torque to drive the drum than laundry that is already largely lying against the drum shell. The determination is based on the fact that when the load slides and/or rolls, the torque to overcome the sliding friction must be applied continuously. If the laundry is touching the drum shell, the required torque is lower on average. Fluctuations are only caused by any existing imbalances in the laundry, but balance out on average over one drum revolution.
- the predetermined threshold value is preferably stored in the open-loop or closed-loop control device.
- the filtering with a low-pass filter of the measured torques also or alternatively includes filtering with the low-pass filter of at least one variable that correlates with the torque.
- the correlating variable is preferably proportional to the torque.
- the at least one variable that correlates with the torque is continuously filtered with the low-pass filter.
- a further time saving can be achieved by the continuous filtering of a torque-proportional signal in that the detection of whether the laundry is slipping and/or rolling can take place using the predetermined threshold value when the application speed is reached at the beginning of the first measurement plateau. The inventors have found that when the applied speed is reached, the filtered torque approaches a value that is also reached during the plateau measurement. This means that as soon as the plateau speed is reached, it can be recognized whether the laundry is slipping or rolling.
- the rotational speed of the drum is preferably kept on a plateau for a predetermined period of time while the method is being carried out. In an alternative preferred embodiment, the speed of the drum is increased to the plateau while the method is being carried out.
- the invention relates to a washing machine with a tub for holding washing liquid, a ribless drum rotatably mounted in the tub for holding laundry, a motor for driving the drum and a control or regulating device which is designed a method according to one or more of execute the embodiments described above.
- Embodiments and advantages described for the method apply correspondingly to the washing machine and vice versa.
- the washing machine can be a front loader or a top loader.
- the term "washing machine” includes not only a washing machine but also a combination device such as a washer-dryer.
- the drum is preferably rotatably mounted in the tub with a horizontal axis of rotation.
- the control or regulating device can be designed in one or more parts. In addition to regulating the speed of the motor for driving the drum, it has other regulations or controls that are required to carry out the washing program.
- FIG. 1 shows a time course of a torque of the engine during the implementation of a method according to the invention.
- the course of the torque over time is measured while the method according to the invention is being carried out.
- the method is carried out in a washing machine with a tub for holding washing liquid, a ribless drum rotatably mounted in the tub for holding laundry, a motor for driving the drum and a control or regulating device which carries out a washing program for washing the laundry.
- the Drum rotated constantly at a speed of 95 min -1 purely as an example.
- the method includes steps for detecting laundry slipping and/or rolling on the drum.
- a step of the method includes measuring torques of the engine.
- the solid line represents the measured torques in the form of raw signals.
- a further step of the method comprises averaging the torques measured during at least one complete revolution of the drum to obtain an average torque.
- the dot-dash line represents the mean torque as the mean value.
- Yet another step of the method includes using the mean torque to detect whether the laundry is slipping and/or rolling on the drum. in the in 1 shown case is detected that the laundry slips on the drum and / or rolls because the average torque is greater than a predetermined threshold value that is stored in the washing machine.
- FIG. 2 shows a further time course of a torque of the engine during the implementation of the method according to the invention.

Description
- Messen von Drehmomenten des Motors;
- Mitteln der während mindestens einer vollständigen Umdrehung der Trommel gemessenen Drehmomente zum Erhalten eines mittleren Drehmoments oder Filtern mit einem Tiefpass der gemessenen Drehmomente zum Erhalten eines gefilterten Drehmoments;
Mitnehmer in ihrem Inneren aufweist.
