Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a foldable display stand made of rigid cardboard adapted to be unfolded in order to present everyday consumer products therein in particular.
  • the foldable display is suitable for point-of-sale advertising commonly referred to by its abbreviation “POS”.
  • rigid cardboard or "semi-rigid cardboard” usually means corrugated cardboard, consisting of one or more sheets of corrugated paper glued to one or more sheets of flat paper. The combination of fluted paper sheets and flat paper sheets ensures the relative rigidity of the material obtained.
  • Foldable display units comprising a rear wall having two side edges and two side walls mounted respectively hinged on said two side edges.
  • the two side walls each have a free edge opposite the corresponding side edge of the rear wall.
  • the displays comprise at least one support shelf having a rear edge hingedly mounted on the rear wall and a free opposite front edge.
  • the support shelf has two opposite side edges respectively connected to the two side walls by means of two 45° angular flaps centered on the axis of articulation of the shelf on the rear wall.
  • a problem which arises and which the present invention aims to solve is to provide an easily unfoldable but more compact foldable display stand.
  • a foldable display stand made of rigid cardboard comprising: a rear wall having two side edges, and two side walls mounted respectively hinged on said two side edges and each having a free edge opposite said edges side, said two side walls being adapted to be brought opposite one another; at least one support element comprising on the one hand a rear edge mounted articulated on said rear wall and an opposite front edge extending between the free edges of said two facing side walls, and on the other hand an intermediate part extending from said rear edge to said front edge to be able to form a receiving shelf.
  • said front edge is articulated on said free edges, while said intermediate part is mounted articulated on said front edge; and said two side walls are adapted to be folded respectively in half towards each other along a median fold line parallel to the side edge of said rear wall, while said intermediate part folds in half along a transverse fold line substantially perpendicular to the median folding lines to carry said intermediate part and said two side walls respectively folded in half against said rear wall.
  • a characteristic of the invention resides in the folding of the side walls in two towards each other and towards the inside of the display unit in order to be able to apply them folded flat against the rear wall just like the intermediate part.
  • the display stand is folded in the sole perimeter of the rear wall over several thicknesses but in a more compact manner compared to the display stand produced according to the prior art.
  • said back wall has at least one anchor slot, while said rear edge has at least one anchor tab adapted to engage through said at least one anchor slot.
  • the rear edge is not only integral with the rear wall, but in addition, the mode of connection makes it possible to articulate the support element.
  • the rear wall has two anchoring slots spaced apart from each other, and the rear edge has two anchoring tabs adapted to come into engagement through said two anchoring slots.
  • said intermediate part forms two isosceles trapeziums connected together by their short side.
  • the long sides of the two trapezoids are extended respectively by the posterior edge and the opposite anterior edge.
  • the long sides of the trapeziums extend over a distance substantially equal to the distance which separates the two opposite side walls. Therefore, thanks to this conformation, the intermediate part has two side indentations back to back, and as will be explained in more detail below, when the two side walls bend in half towards each other, they come extend into the indentations and they are not prevented by the intermediate part which also bends.
  • said transverse fold line extends along said short side of said isosceles trapezoids.
  • said front edge is surmounted by a rim. In this way, and as will be explained below, the risk of the products deposited on the receiving shelf falling therefrom is negligible.
  • the foldable display further comprises a support plate made of rigid cardboard, for example made of honeycomb cardboard, adapted to be applied to said intermediate part.
  • the receiving tablet has a continuous surface supported by the support element.
  • the foldable display further comprises another support element comprising on the one hand another rear edge mounted articulated on said rear wall at a distance from said one rear edge and a another opposite front edge articulated on said free edges at said distance from said one front edge, and on the other hand another intermediate part extending from said other rear edge to said other front edge.
  • the display unit comprises a rear wall having two side edges, and two side walls mounted respectively articulated on said two side edges and each having a free edge opposite said side edges, said two side walls being adapted to be brought opposite the one from the other.
  • it also comprises at least two support elements each comprising, on the one hand a rear edge and an opposite front edge, and on the other hand an intermediate part extending from said rear edge to said front edge in order to be able to form a shelf reception ; said at least two support elements are mounted articulated on said rear wall at a determined distance from one another and they extend between the free edges of said two facing side walls.
  • front edges are respectively hinged on said free edges spaced apart by said determined distance, while the intermediate parts are respectively mounted hinged on the front edges; and said two side walls are adapted to be folded respectively in half towards each other along a middle fold line parallel to the side edge of said rear wall, while said intermediate parts fold respectively in half along a fold line transverse substantially perpendicular to the median fold lines to carry said intermediate parts and said two side walls respectively folded in half against said rear wall.
  • the foldable display has at least two superimposed floors when it is held vertically resting on the ground, for example. It is easily understood that the foldable display unit according to the invention may comprise a plurality of superimposed levels by providing a rear wall and sufficiently long side walls and a corresponding number of support elements.
  • said rear wall has a transverse folding line perpendicular to said two side edges, while each of said two side walls has a transverse cutting line extending in the extension of said transverse folding line by forming two half-walls.
  • the foldable display has a plurality of receiving shelves, and consequently the rear wall and the side walls are long, it is advantageous to be able to fold them in half to make the foldable display more compact.
  • the rear wall has a transverse fold line and each of the side walls has a cutting line in the extension of the transverse fold line.
  • the rear wall can be folded into two rear half-walls applied back to back, while the two pairs of side half-walls can be folded respectively against their corresponding rear half-wall. In this way, despite the height of the display, it can be folded up compactly.
  • each of said two pairs of half-walls have two opposite contact edges comprising centering tongues in order to be able to center said two half-walls.
  • the two contact edges of each of the pairs of side half-walls fit perfectly edge to edge.
  • the side walls give the impression of being continuous.
