    the backrest (17) is spatially adjustable, wherein a receptacle of the backrest, which extends at least in regions along the backrest, has a plurality of swivel elements (16) which are arranged one above the other and are connected to one another in an articulated manner.
  3. Chair according to any of the preceding claims,
    characterised in that
    either the seat part (5, 6, 7, 8) and the backrest (17) are pivotable and lockable about a second common horizontal or inclined horizontal axis which is arranged perpendicular to the first common horizontal or inclined horizontal axis, or the seat part (5, 6, 7, 8) about a third and the backrest (17) about at least a fourth horizontal or inclined horizontal axis which are independent of each other and perpendicular to the second and third horizontal or inclined horizontal axes.
  4. Chair according to any of the preceding claims,
    characterised in that
    the seat part (5, 6, 7, 8) has a seat shell (5) with ischial recesses (5a), a seat cushion (8), a saddle curvature (6) and leg supports (7), the seat cushion (8) being arranged in the seat shell (5) and/or
    in that the saddle curvature (6) and the leg supports (7) are connected to the seat shell (5) and/or
    that the saddle arch (6) and the leg supports (7) are pivotable and lockable about a common horizontal or inclined horizontal axis, and/or the saddle arch (6) and the leg supports (7) are pivotable and lockable independently of each other.
  5. Chair according to claim 4,
    characterised in that
    the seat part (5, 6, 7, 8) is connected to the chair base (1) by means of a base arm (2) connected to the chair base (1) at least a first end thereof, a tilt module (3) connected to at least a first end thereof to a further end or a portion of the base arm (2), and a seat arm (4) connected to a first end or a portion to a further end or a portion of the tilt module (3), wherein at least one further end of the seat arm (4) is connected to at least one first end of a back arm (10) and wherein the at least first end of the back arm (10) is connected to at least one first end of the seat shell (5), and
    in that a further end or a section of the back arm (10) is connected to an end of the backrest (17) and a sacral support (9).
  6. Chair according to claim 5,
    characterised in that
    the base arm (2) can be pivoted and locked relative to the chair base (1) about a horizontal or inclined horizontal axis and/or
    in that the inclination module (3) can be pivoted and locked relative to the base arm (2) about a horizontal or inclined horizontal axis and/or
    that the seat arm (4) is pivotable and lockable relative to the tilt module (3) about a horizontal or inclined horizontal axis arranged perpendicular to the axis between the base arm (2) and the tilt module (3), and/or
    that the back arm (10) relative to the seat arm (4) and the seat shell (5) independently of each other or the seat shell (5) relative to the seat arm (4) and the back arm (10) independently of each other are pivotable and lockable about a horizontal or inclined horizontal axis.
  7. Chair according to any of the preceding claims,
    characterised in that
    the chair has a headrest (18, 19) which is spatially adjustable.
  8. Chair according to Claim 7,
    characterised in that
    the headrest (18, 19) comprises an end vertebra (18) connected with a first end to a further end of the backrest (17) and a head support (19) connected to a further end of the end vertebra (18), and
    that the head support (19) is displaceable along a vertical or inclined vertical guide of the end vertebra (18) and is pivotable and lockable about a horizontal or inclined horizontal axis perpendicular to the guide.
  9. Receptacle for a backrest of a chair, in particular according to one of claims 1 to 8,
    characterised in that
    it comprises a plurality of superimposed vertebral bodies or vertebral elements (16) which are articulatedly connected to one another.
  10. Receptacle according to claim 9
    characterised in that
    the articulated connection between the vertebral elements has a ball-and-socket joint (16a, 16h).
  11. Receptacle according to one of claims 9 or 10,
    characterised in that
    each vertebral element (16) has at least one ball (16a) and at least one cup (16h).
  12. Receptacle according to one of claims 10 or 11,
    characterised in that
    that the ball (16a) and the socket (16h) of a vertebral element (16) are provided on different sides of the vertebral element (16), preferably opposite sides, as individual connecting means of the vertebral element (16) to a respective adjacent vertebral element.
  13. Receptacle according to any of claims 9 to 12,
    characterised in that
    the vertebral elements (16) are connected by means of elastic clamping elements (16e) which directionally stabilise the articulated connections between the vertebral elements (16) to a predefinable alignment of the vertebral elements to each other, preferably to a vertical overall alignment of the receptacle.
  14. Receptacle according to any one of claims 9 to 13,
    characterised in that
    the clamping elements (16e) respectively connect adjacent vertebral elements (16) to one another and/or stabilise them in relation to one another.
  15. Receptacle according to any of claims 9 to 12,
    characterised in that
    in addition to the articulated connection, the vertebral elements (16) have latching elements (16b) and latching receptacles (16i) by means of which adjacent swivel elements can be movably guided and/or latched to one another.
