Definitions
- the invention relates to outdoor furniture, in particular with a sun and/or wind protection function for the garden or beach, such as beach chairs.
- Beach chairs are usually used in the spring and summer months in the garden or on the beach so that you can sit or lie in them protected from the sun and/or wind. Beach chairs usually offer two seats arranged next to each other on a two-seater bench, the shared backrest of which can be tilted together with the basket that protects against sun and/or wind. There is often a pull-out calf rest under the seats for a reclining function.
- the basic idea of the present disclosure is to design an outdoor piece of furniture, such as a beach chair, to be repurposed as a sauna room, changing room, garden shed and/or as storage space.
- the first configuration can therefore be equated with a beach chair configuration in which a user can use the seat and/or lounger unit in spring or summer, with the at least partially nested shell elements forming wind and/or sun protection on the user's back.
- the second configuration can be equated with a room configuration in which the shell elements form a closed interior space that can be used as a sauna room, changing room, garden shed and/or as storage space. The closed interior, in where the sitting and/or lying unit is located is protected against rain and weathering by the shell elements.
- the interior space in the second configuration is thermally effectively closed to a minimum, ie with a heat transfer coefficient (U-value) of at most 10 W/(m 2 ⁇ K), preferably less than 5 W/(m 2 ⁇ K) on both sides , forward, backward and up.
- U-value heat transfer coefficient
- the heat transfer coefficient may be higher towards the bottom.
- Intentional ventilation openings and/or holes or slots that result from manufacturing tolerances or material distortions do not stand in the way of the "essentially closed" interior space, provided the resulting heat loss is small enough to be compensated for, for example, by a sauna heater.
- one or both of the shell elements can be movable relative to the other shell element. Depending on the embodiment, it is advisable that preferably only the lighter shell element is moved while the heavier shell element remains in place. However, both shell elements can also be moved both in relation to each other and in relation to the overall position and orientation of the outdoor furniture. Preferably, one or both of the shell elements can be carried or rolled, rotated and moved manually by one or two people using handles. One of the shell elements or Both can be designed in one piece or in several parts. A one-piece design is preferred in order to increase stability and reduce the variety of parts. A multi-part design can be advantageous if a one-piece design is too difficult to implement.
- the shell elements are preferably designed to be rigid and as resistant to bending as possible.
- the at least one seat and/or lying unit can be located in the first shell element in the first configuration and be aligned towards an open front side of the first shell element.
- the sitting and/or lying unit can then stand on a floor of the first shell element.
- Such a base can be an integral part of the first shell element.
- the first shell element can therefore be defined as an inner shell element, which in the first configuration is at least partially inserted into the second shell element as a beach chair or the second shell element is placed on a back of the first shell element.
- the first shell element defines a first half-space that is open towards a front side of the first shell element and the second shell element defines a second half-space that is open towards a front side of the second shell element.
- the first shell element and the second shell element correspond in shape and size such that the first shell element essentially fills the second half-space in the first configuration.
- the shape of the shell elements can essentially correspond to non-closed polyhedra or prisms, whereby the shell elements can complement each other in the second configuration to form a closed polyhedron or prism.
- the surfaces of the back, side walls and roof of the second shell element each preferably extend substantially in the first configuration parallel to the corresponding back, the side walls and the roof of the first shell element.
- the first half-space and the second half-space in the second configuration can together form the essentially closed interior, with the front of the first shell element and the front of the second shell element lying facing one another.
- the shell elements When placed together in the second configuration, the shell elements preferably essentially form the shape of a geometric prism with a preferably substantially mirror-symmetrical pentagon as a base area, which is formed by the side walls of the shell elements.
- the second half-space is preferably wider and/or higher than the first half-space.
- a difference in size can be compensated for by a panel running across the front in order to close the interior space at the transition between the shell elements in the second configuration.
- the panel can preferably form the front of the first shell element and, in the second configuration, serve as a stop for the front of the first shell element.
- the at least one seat and/or lying unit can be movable with respect to the first shell element and/or the second shell element, preferably insertable and relocatable as a separate unit in the first shell element and/or the second shell element.
- the second shell element which is on the outside in the first configuration, is designed to be as light and stable as possible.
- a door can be provided in the heavier first shell element, since in the second configuration the seat and/or lying unit can be pushed into the second shell element.
- the sitting and/or lying unit can If necessary, the orientation can be rotated by 180 ° beforehand, so that in the second configuration the line of sight of a person positioned on the seat and / or lying unit is directed from the inside towards a window in the back of the first shell element. There is therefore no need for a window or a door in the lightest and most stable second shell element, which would make the second shell element unnecessarily heavier and more unstable.
- the second shell element can have a convertible or foldable base, which in the first configuration lies flat against a back and/or side wall of the second shell element and in the second configuration forms a base part of the essentially closed interior. This makes it particularly easy to place the second shell element for the first configuration onto the first shell element from behind.
- the first shell element and/or the second shell element can have a door in a side wall.
- the door can be a swing door or a sliding door.
- the door can open inwards and/or outwards, with it being preferred that the door opens outwards.
- the door is provided in the heavier of the two shell elements, which is not moved to convert the outdoor furniture between the two configurations. If the seat and/or lying unit is permanently installed in the first shell element and cannot be moved or moved, the door is preferably arranged in the second shell element, even if the movement of the second shell element can be provided for converting the outdoor furniture between the two configurations should.
- the outdoor furniture can have a sauna heater in the first or second shell element.
- the second configuration can therefore be referred to as a sauna configuration, in which the interior space formed by the shell elements in the second configuration can be heated using the sauna heater and can serve as a sauna room.
- the at least one seat and/or lying unit can cover the sauna heater in the first configuration and, in the second configuration, can be arranged in the second shell element away from the sauna heater and aligned towards the sauna heater.
- the sitting and/or lying unit is preferably movable or can be moved and the sauna heater is permanently installed in the first shell element.
- the seating and/or lying unit can, if necessary, be rotated in orientation by 180° and, in the second configuration, be pushed away from the sauna heater from the first shell element into the second shell element.
- the sauna heater that is not required is hidden and safely stored under or behind the seating and/or lying unit to save space.
- the sauna heater can be arranged in a corner region formed by a side wall of the first shell element with a rear side of the first shell element, the side wall of the first shell element opposite this side wall having a door which preferably opens outwards. This means that the sauna heater does not block the entrance area of the door and is as far away as possible from the door and the seating and/or lying unit pushed to the back of the second shell element.
- the sauna heater can be operated electrically, preferably with 230 ⁇ 23 V mains voltage, or with gas, preferably via a propane gas bottle or a gas tank.
- the sauna heater is preferably designed with a heating output of less than 3680 W.
- Experimental tests have shown that with an interior volume of around 4 m 3 and a certain wall structure of the shell elements such a heating output is sufficient to achieve and maintain a temperature difference of 100°C and more between the interior and the outside temperature. This means that the interior can be used as a sauna in the second configuration.
- higher heating outputs may be possible. Operation with gas is advantageous, for example, if there is no power connection nearby and/or high heating outputs are required that cannot be served via a normal power connection.
- the first shell element and/or the first shell element can have a window made of glass and/or transparent plastic on a respective rear side.
- the window is arranged in the shell element in which the seat and/or lying unit is not positioned in the second configuration.
- the window is preferably arranged in the back of the second shell element.
- the window is preferably in the back of the first shell element.
- both back sides and/or the roof and/or the side walls can also have windows made of glass and/or transparent plastic.
- the first shell element and/or the second shell element can have walls with at least two, preferably three solid layers and at least one metal foil lying between the solid layers that reflects radiation heat and preferably also serves as a vapor barrier.
- This will make it Loss of radiant heat is reduced and the heating process is greatly shortened, so that energy consumption is reduced. It is also possible to avoid fiber insulation materials, which are heavier and can become damp and therefore lose their insulating effect and tend to form mold. Condensation can run down the metal foil, which preferably also serves as a vapor barrier, and be guided outwards in a controlled manner on the underside to evaporate or drip off.
- the outdoor furniture can have one (or more) air gap between the solid layers.
- the at least one metal foil can preferably be arranged on a side of one or more of the solid body layers facing the respective air gap.
- a hollow chamber structure as a wall structure of the shell elements has at least one heat-insulating standing air layer, which reduces heat loss and lowers the required heating output of the sauna heater to such an extent that it can be operated electrically with a mains voltage of 230 ⁇ 23 V via a line protected up to 16A.
- One or more of the solid layers are preferably made of wood, in particular the layer adjacent to the interior. However, one or more of the solid layers, in particular the outer layer, can have other material such as plastic and/or fiber composites.
- One or more of the solid body layers can, for example, themselves have particularly good thermally insulating material such as artificial cork and/or natural cork. If there is sufficient thermal insulation through the solid layers, a hollow chamber structure with an air gap can be dispensed with.
- the first shell element and/or the second shell element can have substantially vertically extending side walls, a rear side that is inclined backwards by an angle ⁇ in the range of 3° to 15° and a rear side that is inclined backwards by a roof inclination ⁇ in the range of 5° to 20° have a sloping roof.
- this creates a visual impression of a beach chair Pitched roof in the first configuration and of a garden shed with a gable roof in the second configuration.
- the backs, if necessary with a window, are also protected against rain directly from above.
- a backrest of the seat and/or lying unit allows you to place it in a deeper lying position without increasing the distance between the seat and the back.
- the sloping roof ensures that rainwater drains towards the back.
- the roof inclination ⁇ is greater than the angle ⁇ at which the rear sides are inclined backwards.
- this offers a harmonious, aesthetically pleasing shape as well as high stability of the outdoor furniture in both the first and second configuration.
- a front side of the first shell element can be stepped in such a way that a lower section of the front side of the first shell element protrudes from an upper section of the front side of the first shell element. This reinforces the visual impression of a beach chair in the first configuration and provides a storage area in the first configuration.
- a front side of the second shell element can be offset in steps corresponding to the front side of the first shell element in such a way that a lower section of the front side of the second shell element is set back from an upper section of the front side of the second shell element. This means that the two shell elements complement each other perfectly to form a closed space in the second configuration.
- the correspondingly stepped front sides of the shell elements can form a horizontal section in the first front side, on which the second shell element rests in the second configuration. This improves the stability and statics of the outdoor furniture in the second configuration.
- the horizontal section supports contributes to the beach chair-like appearance and can serve as a shelf, for example for drinks or dishes.
- FIG. 1 is an outdoor furniture 1 shown in a first configuration, in which the outdoor furniture 1 visually and functionally resembles a beach chair.
- a right-handed Cartesian coordinate system is shown in the figures, in which the x-axis runs in the depth direction, the y-axis in the width direction and the z-axis in the height direction.
- the x-axis is arbitrarily chosen here so that it corresponds to a viewing direction of a front of the outdoor furniture 1 in the first configuration.
- the y-axis is arbitrarily chosen here so that it runs from right to left when looking at a front of the outdoor furniture 1 in the first configuration. This means that the z-axis runs vertically from bottom to top.
- front or “front” is chosen here for all parts of the outdoor furniture 1 so that it means the side or direction pointing in the negative x-direction in the first configuration.
- a “front” of a movable part can point in the positive x direction.
- the term “back” or “back” is chosen here for all parts of the outdoor furniture 1 so that it means the side or direction pointing in the positive x direction in the first configuration.
- a “back” of a movable part can point in the negative x direction.
- the outdoor furniture 1 has a seating and/or lying unit in the form of a two-seater bench 3, a first shell element 5 and a second shell element 7.
- the first shell element 5 forms a first half-space 9 that is open to the front, in which the two-seater bench 3 is arranged and aligned forward towards the opening in the negative x direction.
- the second shell element 7 is movable relative to the first shell element 5 and is placed on the first shell element 5 from behind like a hood.
- the first shell element 5 and the second shell element 7 are therefore nested one inside the other, with the first shell element 5 having a second half-space 11 formed by the second shell element 7 (see Figure 4 ) fills almost completely.
- the second shell element 7 is designed to be as light and rigid as possible so that it can be removed by hand using handles 13 with one or two people and moved relative to the first shell element 5.
- the in Figure 2 The longitudinal section shown in the xz plane shows the nesting of the shell elements 5, 7 in the first configuration more clearly.
- the inner first shell element 5 essentially forms a five-faced polyhedron open to a first front side 14 with a first roof slope 15, a first back side 17, a first bottom 19 and two first side walls 21, 23 (not visible in Fig. 2 , but in Fig. 1 or 5).
- the external second shell element 7 essentially forms a quadrilateral polyhedron that is open to a second front side 24 and at the bottom with a second roof slope 25, a second back side 27 and two second side walls 29, 31 (not visible in Fig. 2 , but in Fig. 1 or 5).
- a second base 33 of the second shell element 7 is on the inside of the second in the first configuration Back 27 folded up or raised so that in the first configuration it lies essentially parallel to the first back 17 and the second back 27.
- the roof slopes 15, 25, the back sides 17, 27 and the side walls 21, 23, 29, 31 are each parallel to one another in the first configuration.
- the side walls 21, 23, 29, 31 run essentially vertically.
- the back sides 17, 27 are inclined backwards by an angle ⁇ in the range of 3° to 15°, preferably by 6°, so that the visual impression of a beach chair is achieved and the back sides 17, 27 are less exposed to the rain.
- the roof slopes 15, 25 are inclined backwards by a roof inclination ⁇ in the range of 5 ° to 20 °, preferably by 13 °, and in the first configuration form a pent roof on which rainwater runs off to the rear.
- the first front side 14 is stepped in such a way that a lower section 41 of the first front side 14 protrudes from an upper section 43 of the first front side 14.
- the second front side 24 is correspondingly stepped in such a way that a lower section 45 of the second front side 24 is correspondingly set back from an upper section 47 of the second front side 24.
- the first front side 14 is formed here by a frame-forming panel 34 which extends perpendicular to the xz plane and which partially obscures the view of the second front side 24 towards the rear. In the second configuration, the panel 34 serves as a stop for the front 24 of the first shell element 7 (see Fig. 3 and 4 ).
- the cover 34 Due to the correspondingly stepped front sides 14, 24 of the shell elements 5, 7, the cover 34 here forms a horizontal section on which the second shell element 7 rests in the second configuration. This improves the stability and statics of the outdoor furniture 1 in the second configuration.
- the horizontal section of the panel 34 contributes to the beach chair-like structure Appearance and can serve as a shelf, for example for drinks or dishes.
- the first back 17 has a window 35, which preferably has heat-insulating double or triple glazing.
- the window 35 may have one or more panes comprising glass and/or transparent plastic.
- the window 35 can have a discretion layer to darken the view, particularly from the outside to the inside.
- the two-seater bench 3 is in the embodiment according to Fig. 1 to 10 on the first floor 19 and can be moved in the first shell element 5 and can even be removed (see Fig. 5 ).
- a backrest 37 of the two-seater bench 3 is, as in Fig. 2 shown, its backward inclination can be adjusted gradually or continuously.
- a seat 39 of the two-seater bench 3 can be moved horizontally forward (in the negative x direction) or the entire two-seater bench 3 can be positioned further forward in the first shell element 5 in order to have more space at the back for putting the backrest 37 back have.
- a calf support can be pushed out or folded up at the front of the seat 39 of the two-seater bench 3, which may protrude from the first front side 14.
- a sauna heater 49 Hidden beneath or behind the seat 39 of the two-seater bench 3 is a sauna heater 49, which can be operated electrically via a conventional 230V power supply connection.
- the sauna heater 49 is not designed to operate in the first configuration Fig. 1 and 2 intended, but only stowed away for use in the second configuration Fig. 3 and 4 .
- the sauna heater is arranged in a corner area formed by the right first side wall 21 with the first back 17. That of the right first side wall 21
- the opposite left first side wall 23 has a door 51 that preferably opens outwards (see Fig. 3 ).
- the hollow chamber structure of the second shell element 7 is shown in a detailed section.

- the second shell element 7 on the second front side 24 has female parts of the holders 66 in the form of receptacles tapering downwards.
- the holders 66 can be shaped in such a way that wedging takes place through corresponding obliquely tapering surfaces and/or the second shell element 7 is pressed against the first shell element 5 in the x direction by its own weight.
- a sealing lip (not shown) can run along the second front side 24, which in the first configuration is at least partially covered by the cover 34 and protected from sunlight and in the second configuration lies sealingly on the front side of the cover 34 in order to protect it from the shell elements 5, 7 to thermally close the interior formed better.
- Such a sealing lip can also serve as an elastic protective cushion to prevent the panel 34 from being scratched by the second front side 24.
- the slightly different size of the shell elements 5, 7 is compensated for by the frame-forming panel 34. So the second Shell element 7 can be placed on the first shell element 5 in the first configuration, the second side walls 29, 31 are at a greater distance from one another than the first side walls 21, 23. The second half-space 11 is therefore wider in the y-direction than the first half-space , so that the closed interior space formed has an offset. This offset is closed in the second configuration by the frame-forming aperture 34 which extends perpendicular to the xz plane. The second floor 33 is folded down or put down in the second configuration and, in a horizontal position, complements the first floor 29 to form a substantially closed overall floor of the interior.
- the movable two-seater bench 3 is now pushed into the second shell element 7 and aligned towards the window 35 in the first shell element 5 towards the rear (in the x direction).
- the orientation of the two-seater bench 3 can be changed, for example, by a 180 ° rotation about a vertical axis (z-axis) after the two-seater bench 3 has been removed from the shell elements 5, 7 (see Figure 6 ).
- the seat and/or lying unit can have a convertible or foldable backrest so that you can sit on the seat the other way around. The seat and/or lying unit then only has to be displaceable between the shell elements and does not have to be completely removed from the shell elements.
- the sauna heater 49 stands at a maximum distance from the two-seater bench 3 and the door in a corner area of the first shell element 5. In the second configuration, the sauna heater can be operated for sauna use. An electrical connection 67 for electrical operation of the sauna heater 49 is therefore arranged on the outside of the first back 17. Additionally or alternatively, there can be a gas connection for connecting a propane gas bottle or another Gas tanks can be arranged if the sauna heater 49 is to be operated with gas.
- FIG. 3 and 4 The polyhedral shape contour of the outdoor furniture 1 becomes clear in a second configuration, which essentially corresponds to the shape of a geometric prism with a substantially (with the exception of the offset closed by the aperture 34) mirror-symmetrical pentagon as a base area, which extends from the right side walls 21, 29 and the left side walls 23, 31 of the shell elements 5, 7 is formed.
- the beach chair with a lean-to roof is transformed into a garden house with a gable roof.
- the hollow chamber structure of the first shell element 5 is shown in a detailed section.
- the second shell element 7 can have the same hollow chamber structure and/or as in Fig. 2 have hollow chamber structure shown.
- the roof slopes 15, 25, the back sides 17, 27 and the side walls 21, 23, 29, 31 all have a hollow chamber structure Fig. 2 and or Fig. 4 on.
- the hollow chamber structure according to Fig. 4 has three wooden layers 53, 55, 69, each with air gaps 57, 71 in between.
- Fig. 2 has the hollow chamber structure according to Fig.
- this hollow chamber structure is suitable for the more stationary shell element 5, 7 (here the first shell element 5).
- Fig. 5 to 10 show the step-by-step conversion of the outdoor furniture 1 from the first configuration to the second configuration.
- the two-seater bench 3 is pulled out of the first shell element 5, in Fig. 6 outside the first shell element 5 rotated by 180 ° around the vertical z-axis and so in Fig. 7 inserted again into the first shell element 5.
- the two-seater bench 3 is not pushed in as far as the first back 17, but only so deep that the entrance area at the door 51 is not blocked from the inside by the two-seater bench 3.
- the second shell element 7 is then removed from the first shell element 5 using the handles 13 and according to Figure 9 rotated by 180 ° about the vertical z-axis and attached from the front with the second front side 24 to the first front side 14, which is formed by the aperture 34.
- the second floor 33 is folded or placed downwards so that it horizontally delimits the second half-space 11 downwards.
- the outdoor furniture 1 is in the second configuration. If the steps are carried out in the opposite direction, this can happen Outdoor furniture 1 can be brought back into the first configuration as a beach chair.
- a second embodiment of the outdoor furniture 1 in which the seat and/or lounger unit 3 can be arranged firmly in the first shell element 5. Both the door 51 and the window 35 are arranged here in the second shell element 7.
- the sauna heater 49 is also located in the second shell element 7 in this second embodiment. So that the sauna heater 49 can be accommodated in the second shell element 7 in the nested first configuration, the second shell element 7 has a rear bulge 77 on the second back 27, in which the sauna heater 49 is stowed in the first configuration. In the second configuration (see Fig. 12 ), the sauna heater 49 can be pulled out of the bulge 77 into the interior in order to use it for sauna use.
- the structure of the outdoor furniture 1 in the second embodiment is very similar to the first embodiment Fig. 1-10 .
- the second floor 33 in the second shell element 7 can, however, in the second exemplary embodiment according to Figures 11-13 be permanently installed and horizontally limit the second half space 11 downwards. This increases the stability of the second shell element 7, since this can in principle be impaired by the door 51 and the window 35.
- it is advantageous for stability that the second roof slope 25, the second back 27 and the second side walls 29, 31 are more stable than in the first exemplary embodiment Fig. 1-10 to design.
- this also makes the second shell element 7 heavier, so that in the second exemplary embodiment Figures 11-13 the weight difference between the first shell element 5 and the second shell element 7 can be smaller.
- the first shell element 5 For the conversion from the first configuration (see Fig. 11 ) to the second configuration (see Fig. 12 ) can therefore be the first shell element 5 together with the permanently installed seat and/or lying unit 3 from the second shell element 7 pulled out, rotated 180 ° about a vertical z-axis and placed with the first front side 14 on the second front side 24 of the second shell element 7.
- the second shell element 7 remains in place.
- the second shell element 7 including the sauna heater 49 can be pulled from the first shell element 5, rotated 180 ° about a vertical z-axis and placed with the second front side 24 on the first front side 14 of the first shell element 5.
- the first shell element 5 remains in place.
- Fig. 13a-f show schematic sectional views of the step-by-step conversion from the first summer configuration (see Fig. 13a,b ) to the second winter configuration (see Fig. 13e,f ).
- the coordinate system arbitrarily connected to the first shell element 5 rotates here 13b and 13c , since the first shell element 5 is off Fig. 13c is rotated 180° about a vertical z-axis.
- the sauna heater 49 is pulled out of the bulge 77 into the interior now formed by the half-spaces 9, 11 of the shell elements 5, 7 in order to move it in Fig. 13e for sauna use.

Description
The invention relates to outdoor furniture, in particular with a sun and/or wind protection function for the garden or beach, such as beach chairs.
Beach chairs are usually used in the spring and summer months in the garden or on the beach so that you can sit or lie in them protected from the sun and/or wind. Beach chairs usually offer two seats arranged next to each other on a two-seater bench, the shared backrest of which can be tilted together with the basket that protects against sun and/or wind. There is often a pull-out calf rest under the seats for a reclining function.
It is therefore the task of the present disclosure to include outdoor furniture, such as a beach chair, in the To be sensibly usable and protected against weathering in the autumn and winter months.
The basic idea of the present disclosure is to design an outdoor piece of furniture, such as a beach chair, to be repurposed as a sauna room, changing room, garden shed and/or as storage space.
- at least one sitting and/or lying unit,
- a first shell element,
- and a second shell element,
"umsetzen" gemeint. The first configuration can therefore be equated with a beach chair configuration in which a user can use the seat and/or lounger unit in spring or summer, with the at least partially nested shell elements forming wind and/or sun protection on the user's back. The second configuration can be equated with a room configuration in which the shell elements form a closed interior space that can be used as a sauna room, changing room, garden shed and/or as storage space. The closed interior, in where the sitting and/or lying unit is located is protected against rain and weathering by the shell elements. Preferably, the interior space in the second configuration is thermally effectively closed to a minimum, ie with a heat transfer coefficient (U-value) of at most 10 W/(m 2 ·K), preferably less than 5 W/(m 2 ·K) on both sides , forward, backward and up. The heat transfer coefficient may be higher towards the bottom. Intentional ventilation openings and/or holes or slots that result from manufacturing tolerances or material distortions do not stand in the way of the "essentially closed" interior space, provided the resulting heat loss is small enough to be compensated for, for example, by a sauna heater. What is meant here by “implementable” or “implementation” is repositionability or repositioning, whereby the shell elements that are detachably arranged from one another are separated from one another and are repositioned together again with a changed orientation to one another. A pivotability or a pivoting of the shell elements relative to one another, in which the shell elements remain connected to one another, is not meant here by “implementable” or “implementation”.
To convert the outdoor furniture between the two configurations, one or both of the shell elements can be movable relative to the other shell element. The shell elements are preferably designed to be rigid and as resistant to bending as possible.
Optionally, the at least one seat and/or lying unit can be located in the first shell element in the first configuration and be aligned towards an open front side of the first shell element. The sitting and/or lying unit can then stand on a floor of the first shell element. Such a base can be an integral part of the first shell element.
The first shell element can therefore be defined as an inner shell element, which in the first configuration is at least partially inserted into the second shell element as a beach chair or the second shell element is placed on a back of the first shell element.
According to the invention, the first shell element defines a first half-space that is open towards a front side of the first shell element and the second shell element defines a second half-space that is open towards a front side of the second shell element. The first shell element and the second shell element correspond in shape and size such that the first shell element essentially fills the second half-space in the first configuration. The shape of the shell elements can essentially correspond to non-closed polyhedra or prisms, whereby the shell elements can complement each other in the second configuration to form a closed polyhedron or prism. The surfaces of the back, side walls and roof of the second shell element each preferably extend substantially in the first configuration parallel to the corresponding back, the side walls and the roof of the first shell element.
Optionally, the first half-space and the second half-space in the second configuration can together form the essentially closed interior, with the front of the first shell element and the front of the second shell element lying facing one another. When placed together in the second configuration, the shell elements preferably essentially form the shape of a geometric prism with a preferably substantially mirror-symmetrical pentagon as a base area, which is formed by the side walls of the shell elements.
The second half-space is preferably wider and/or higher than the first half-space. In the second configuration, such a difference in size can be compensated for by a panel running across the front in order to close the interior space at the transition between the shell elements in the second configuration. The panel can preferably form the front of the first shell element and, in the second configuration, serve as a stop for the front of the first shell element.
Optionally, the at least one seat and/or lying unit can be movable with respect to the first shell element and/or the second shell element, preferably insertable and relocatable as a separate unit in the first shell element and/or the second shell element. This is particularly useful in an embodiment in which the second shell element, which is on the outside in the first configuration, is designed to be as light and stable as possible. In the case of a movable or insertable and convertible seat and/or lying unit, a door can be provided in the heavier first shell element, since in the second configuration the seat and/or lying unit can be pushed into the second shell element. The sitting and/or lying unit can If necessary, the orientation can be rotated by 180 ° beforehand, so that in the second configuration the line of sight of a person positioned on the seat and / or lying unit is directed from the inside towards a window in the back of the first shell element. There is therefore no need for a window or a door in the lightest and most stable second shell element, which would make the second shell element unnecessarily heavier and more unstable.
Optionally, the second shell element can have a convertible or foldable base, which in the first configuration lies flat against a back and/or side wall of the second shell element and in the second configuration forms a base part of the essentially closed interior. This makes it particularly easy to place the second shell element for the first configuration onto the first shell element from behind.
Optionally, the first shell element and/or the second shell element can have a door in a side wall. The door can be a swing door or a sliding door. The door can open inwards and/or outwards, with it being preferred that the door opens outwards. Preferably, the door is provided in the heavier of the two shell elements, which is not moved to convert the outdoor furniture between the two configurations. If the seat and/or lying unit is permanently installed in the first shell element and cannot be moved or moved, the door is preferably arranged in the second shell element, even if the movement of the second shell element can be provided for converting the outdoor furniture between the two configurations should.
Optionally, the outdoor furniture can have a sauna heater in the first or second shell element. The second configuration can therefore be referred to as a sauna configuration, in which the interior space formed by the shell elements in the second configuration can be heated using the sauna heater and can serve as a sauna room.
Optionally, the at least one seat and/or lying unit can cover the sauna heater in the first configuration and, in the second configuration, can be arranged in the second shell element away from the sauna heater and aligned towards the sauna heater. In this embodiment, the sitting and/or lying unit is preferably movable or can be moved and the sauna heater is permanently installed in the first shell element. When converting from the first configuration to the second configuration, the seating and/or lying unit can, if necessary, be rotated in orientation by 180° and, in the second configuration, be pushed away from the sauna heater from the first shell element into the second shell element. In the first configuration, the sauna heater that is not required is hidden and safely stored under or behind the seating and/or lying unit to save space.
Optionally, the sauna heater can be arranged in a corner region formed by a side wall of the first shell element with a rear side of the first shell element, the side wall of the first shell element opposite this side wall having a door which preferably opens outwards. This means that the sauna heater does not block the entrance area of the door and is as far away as possible from the door and the seating and/or lying unit pushed to the back of the second shell element.
Optionally, the sauna heater can be operated electrically, preferably with 230 ± 23 V mains voltage, or with gas, preferably via a propane gas bottle or a gas tank. For electrical operation via a line protected up to 16A with a mains voltage of 230±23 V, the sauna heater is preferably designed with a heating output of less than 3680 W. Experimental tests have shown that with an interior volume of around 4 m 3 and a certain wall structure of the shell elements such a heating output is sufficient to achieve and maintain a temperature difference of 100°C and more between the interior and the outside temperature. This means that the interior can be used as a sauna in the second configuration. When operating with gas or via a power connection specially designed for higher outputs, higher heating outputs may be possible. Operation with gas is advantageous, for example, if there is no power connection nearby and/or high heating outputs are required that cannot be served via a normal power connection.
Optionally, the first shell element and/or the first shell element can have a window made of glass and/or transparent plastic on a respective rear side. On the one hand, this allows natural light to enter in the second configuration with the door closed and, on the other hand, a view when taking a sauna. Preferably, the window is arranged in the shell element in which the seat and/or lying unit is not positioned in the second configuration. When the seat and/or lying unit is firmly attached to the first shell element, the window is preferably arranged in the back of the second shell element. In the case of a convertible seat and/or lying unit, which is pushed into the second shell element in the second configuration, the window is preferably in the back of the first shell element. In order to increase the incidence of light and the possibilities for positioning the seating and/or lying unit, both back sides and/or the roof and/or the side walls can also have windows made of glass and/or transparent plastic.
Optionally, the first shell element and/or the second shell element can have walls with at least two, preferably three solid layers and at least one metal foil lying between the solid layers that reflects radiation heat and preferably also serves as a vapor barrier. This will make it Loss of radiant heat is reduced and the heating process is greatly shortened, so that energy consumption is reduced. Optionally, the outdoor furniture can have one (or more) air gap between the solid layers. The at least one metal foil can preferably be arranged on a side of one or more of the solid body layers facing the respective air gap. Such a hollow chamber structure as a wall structure of the shell elements has at least one heat-insulating standing air layer, which reduces heat loss and lowers the required heating output of the sauna heater to such an extent that it can be operated electrically with a mains voltage of 230 ± 23 V via a line protected up to 16A. One or more of the solid layers are preferably made of wood, in particular the layer adjacent to the interior. However, one or more of the solid layers, in particular the outer layer, can have other material such as plastic and/or fiber composites. One or more of the solid body layers can, for example, themselves have particularly good thermally insulating material such as artificial cork and/or natural cork. If there is sufficient thermal insulation through the solid layers, a hollow chamber structure with an air gap can be dispensed with.
Optionally, the first shell element and/or the second shell element can have substantially vertically extending side walls, a rear side that is inclined backwards by an angle β in the range of 3° to 15° and a rear side that is inclined backwards by a roof inclination γ in the range of 5° to 20° have a sloping roof. Among other things, this creates a visual impression of a beach chair Pitched roof in the first configuration and of a garden shed with a gable roof in the second configuration. The backs, if necessary with a window, are also protected against rain directly from above. In addition, a backrest of the seat and/or lying unit allows you to place it in a deeper lying position without increasing the distance between the seat and the back. The sloping roof ensures that rainwater drains towards the back.
Optionally, the roof inclination γ is greater than the angle β at which the rear sides are inclined backwards. On the one hand, this offers a harmonious, aesthetically pleasing shape as well as high stability of the outdoor furniture in both the first and second configuration.
Optionally, a front side of the first shell element can be stepped in such a way that a lower section of the front side of the first shell element protrudes from an upper section of the front side of the first shell element. This reinforces the visual impression of a beach chair in the first configuration and provides a storage area in the first configuration. Optionally, a front side of the second shell element can be offset in steps corresponding to the front side of the first shell element in such a way that a lower section of the front side of the second shell element is set back from an upper section of the front side of the second shell element. This means that the two shell elements complement each other perfectly to form a closed space in the second configuration. The correspondingly stepped front sides of the shell elements can form a horizontal section in the first front side, on which the second shell element rests in the second configuration. This improves the stability and statics of the outdoor furniture in the second configuration. In the first configuration, the horizontal section supports contributes to the beach chair-like appearance and can serve as a shelf, for example for drinks or dishes.
