Definitions
- the invention relates to an odor trap.
- the invention also relates to a drain system.
- an odor trap Due to its structure, an odor trap forms a barrier fluid layer that prevents the passage of gases, for example from the sewage system.
- an odor trap is off EP 3 117 047 B1 known.
- EP 3 117 047 B1 describes a drain fitting that includes a floor drain channel with a housing arranged at a drain opening.
- the housing has a housing cover and a housing pot.
- An odor trap is arranged in the housing.
- the odor trap includes a dip tube and a cup-shaped container.
- the dip tube comprises a flange which is arranged on webs in the housing cover which protrude radially inwards.
- the one from EP 3 117 047 B1 well-known odor trap has the disadvantage that the dip tube is not well attached, since the dip tube with the flange only rests loosely on the webs. It is possible for the slider tube to change position, for example to slip. This allows the function of the odor trap be impaired or even lost entirely. It is also necessary for the odor trap to be removed from time to time for maintenance or cleaning.
- the known odor trap has the disadvantage that the removal of the odor trap from the housing of the drain fitting is associated with effort, since the immersion tube and the container can only be removed individually from the housing.
- EP 2 824 248 A1 describes an odor trap for connection to a drain body.
- the odor trap consists of an overflow cup and a dip tube, which protrudes into the overflow cup. Pins are arranged on an outer surface of the dip tube. The pegs cooperate with slots located on an inner surface of the spill cup.
- GB 2 402 946 A reveals an odor trap.
- the odor trap includes an insert placed in a tray.
- the insert has protrusions and the shell has indentations.
- the projections and the depressions can be connected to one another.
- EP 0 436 093 A1 shows another odor trap that can be attached by locking elements.
- EP 2 746 471 A1 discloses a drain pan with partly outwardly curved walls, in which an odor trap is arranged.
- EP 1 287 213 A1 relates to a floor drain.
- the floor drain includes an odor trap.
- the odor trap consists of two parts, an upper part and a lower part, the upper part being mainly tunnel-shaped with a straight part and the lower part being mainly bowl-shaped with a straight part.
- U1 also shows a floor drain having convex walls and a section to be connected to a pipe.
- the present invention is based on the object of specifying an odor trap in which the attachment of the dip tube to the container is improved. Furthermore, it is the object of the invention to specify a drainage system with such an odor trap.
- this object is achieved by the subject matter of claim 1 with regard to the odor trap and by the subject matter of claim 8 with regard to the drainage system.
- the object is achieved by an odor trap with the features in claim 1, wherein the immersion pipe protrudes into the container in the assembled state, and the upper part has at least one locking element on an outer surface of the immersion pipe and the lower part has at least one locking receptacle on an inner surface of the container has, the upper part and the lower part being releasably connected to one another in a positive and/or non-positive manner by the latching element and the latching receptacle.
- the advantage of the invention lies in the fact that the dip tube and the container, which is open at the top, are releasably connected to one another in a non-positive and/or positive manner by the latching element and the latching receptacle.
- the connection is strong enough to withstand external forces, while still being manually detachable.
- Open at the top means that the opening of the container in the assembled state is arranged at the top in the direction of gravity, i.e. that a fluid can flow into the container in the direction of gravity.
- the snap-in connection between the immersion tube and the container enables the odor trap to be set up and assembled easily. This means that the installation of the odor trap is quick and easy. Furthermore, the odor trap can be removed or installed as a unit. This makes the odor trap easy to maintain and clean.
- the latching element has a latching geometry, in particular a cylindrical latching geometry, which is arranged on the outer surface of the immersion tube.
- the latching geometry is advantageous because it enables the latching connection to be held particularly well.
- the locking geometry can be adapted to the locking mount. Different shapes are possible as the latching geometry. Cylindrical, rectangular or polygonal shapes are possible.
- the latching element has a spring element, in particular a slot, which extends parallel to a longitudinal axis of the immersion tube and is arranged centrally on the latching element.
- the spring element has the advantage that it facilitates the insertion of the locking element into the locking receptacle.
- the spring element for example through the slot, allows the locking element to be compressed or pressed together so that it can be pushed past a constriction into the locking receptacle and then expand again when the locking element is arranged in the locking receptacle.
- the locking geometry returns to its non-compressed initial state.
- the latching element is arranged in the latching receptacle in a positive and/or non-positive manner.
- the latching receptacle comprises two webs, the webs each having an inner contour for receiving the latching geometry of the latching element, in particular the cylindrical latching geometry.
- the locking geometry preferably has an outer contour, the inner contour of the webs corresponding at least in sections to the outer contour of the locking geometry.
- the locking geometry When installed, the locking geometry is arranged between the inner contours of the webs.
- the locking geometry is cylindrical, for example as a pin.
- the diameter or the width of the locking geometry preferably essentially corresponds to the distance between the webs in the area of the bulges.
- the snap-in geometry is arranged in the inner contour when snapped in.
- the latching geometry on the outer contour rests at least in sections on the inner contours of the webs. Starting from the opening of the container, the constriction is arranged in front of the inner contour of the webs.
- the dip tube comprises two longitudinal sides and two transverse sides, with the dip tube merging in a funnel shape into a collar at one axial end. This is advantageous because the flow behavior of the fluid to be drained is improved by the funnel-shaped collar. That is, larger amounts of fluid, such as waste water, can be discharged.
- Holding means in particular handles or tabs, are preferably arranged on two opposite sides of the collar, each of which extends in the direction of the opposite side.
- the handles come in handy when the odor trap needs to be removed from the drain pan for maintenance or cleaning. This allows the dip tube and reservoir to be removed and serviced as a unit or separately one at a time.
- the upper part has at least one support element, in particular a rib or a wing, with a circumferential gap being formed by the support element in the assembled state between an upper edge of the container and an underside of the collar of the dip tube, the height of the gap is between 2 mm and 35 mm, in particular between 5 mm and 30 mm, in particular between 10 mm and 25 mm, in particular between 15 mm and 20 mm.
- the gap allows the fluid to drain into the drain pan. Depending on the size and volume flow of the fluid, it is advantageous to vary the width of the gap.
- the height of the gap is preferably 8 mm.
- the fluid-conducting sections of the container and the dip tube are rounded. This improves the fluid-conducting properties of the odor trap. Furthermore, the odor trap remains largely free of dirt in this way. Since there are no surfaces on which residual fluid can remain, the dirt is continuously removed or washed away with the fluid to be removed.
- a drain system comprising an odor trap according to one of claims 1 to 7 and a drain pot for draining a fluid, in particular waste water, is disclosed and claimed, the drain pot being connected, in particular welded, to a drain channel and the odor trap being in the drain pot is arranged.
- the drain pan has side walls that are convexly curved outwards. Furthermore, the drain pan has at least one connection area, in particular at least two connection areas, which can be connected to a connecting piece.
- the side walls are preferably convexly arched or curved outwards in the circumferential direction and/or along the central longitudinal axis of the drain pan.
- the central longitudinal axis runs orthogonally to the bottom of the drain pan.
- the bulge or curvature preferably extends from the opening in the direction of the closed bottom of the drain pan.
- the side walls are, in particular, designed to be spherical, ball-shaped or bulbous. In particular, the side walls are essentially in the shape of a circular arc in a cross section of the drain pan.
- the side walls are curved along their entire length in the circumferential direction and/or in the direction of the central longitudinal axis.
- the side walls are only partly or in sections convexly curved outwards.
- a non-arched section is provided in the area of the opening. This allows the drain pan to be butt welded.
- the advantage of the drain pot is that due to the convex curvature of the side walls and the associated larger volume of the drain pot, good drainage values are possible with small sizes. It is also possible to connect the drain pan to several connecting pieces or to freely select the side on which the connecting piece is connected to the drain pan.
- the connecting piece is flush with the bottom of the drain pan when installed.
- the drain pot can run completely empty, so that no fluid remains in the drain pot. This reduces dirt residues.
- connection area has a funnel-shaped contour.
- connection area has a conical area.
- the drain pan has at least one anchor element, in particular beads, on an outer surface.
- the anchor member is further beneficial to stiffen and strengthen the sidewalls. This is necessary because the side walls are made of a relatively thin material.
- the drain channel and the drain pot are preferably made of metal, in particular stainless steel.
- the upper part and the lower part are preferably each formed in one piece or monolithically from a plastic, for example by injection molding. As a result, the production costs can be reduced.
- the drainage channel has an end plate, the end plate having at least one slot and/or at least one bore.
- the at least one elongated hole makes it possible to set the installation height of the drainage system in the floor material and to anchor the drainage system.
- the hole is useful for grounding the drainage system.
- the Figures 1 to 6 refer to an odor trap.
- the upper part 11 comprises a dip tube 12.
- the dip tube 12 has two straight longitudinal sides and two arcuate transverse sides.
- the immersion tube 12 has a funnel-shaped transition to a collar 23 at one axial end.
- the funnel-shaped transition is advantageous for the drainage property, since the fluid to be drained can be drained off quickly.
- the collar 23, in particular the outer edge of the collar 23, comprises a sealing lip which seals the odor trap in the installed state from the outside, for example against a drainage body.
- a locking element 15 is arranged in each case on an outer surface A' of the transverse sides.
- the latching element 15 comprises a latching geometry 17, a reinforcement structure 40, a guide element 41 and a spring element 18.
- the Locking elements 15 are each arranged centrally on the transverse sides.
- the latching elements 15 are preferably formed in one piece or monolithically with the immersion tube 12 .
- the reinforcement structure 40 is plate-shaped. Other shapes for the reinforcement structure 40, such as struts or ribs, are possible.
- the reinforcement structure 40 is arranged between the collar 23 and the locking geometry 17 .
- the reinforcement structure 40 is connected to the outer surface A′ and the latching geometry 17 . More precisely, the reinforcement structure 40 is clamped between the collar 23 and the latching geometry 17 .
- the reinforcement structure 40 has an incline that increases in the direction of the latching geometry 17 .
- the reinforcement structure 40 absorbs forces which are applied to the latching element 15 during assembly or in the installed state.
- the locking geometry 17 is relieved by the reinforcement structure 40 and the risk of the locking geometry 17 breaking is reduced.
- the locking geometry 17 includes a cylindrical shape. Alternatively, other shapes, such as polygonal shapes, are possible.
- the cylindrical locking geometry 17 extends perpendicularly away from the outer surface A'.
- the locking geometry 17 does not extend further than the collar 23. More precisely, the locking geometry 17 does not project beyond the collar 23.
- a guide element 41 is arranged on the side of the locking geometry 17 facing away from the collar 23 .
- the guide element 41 is an extension which extends in the direction of the central longitudinal axis of the dip tube 12 and away from the collar 23 .
- the width of the guide element 41 is smaller than the width of the latching geometry 17. The width here means the extent of the guide element 41 in a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal sides.
- the spring element 18 of the locking element 15 includes a slot 19 or a gap.
- the spring element 18 is formed by the slot 19 .
- the Slot 19 extends essentially along the entire latching element 15. More precisely, the slot 19 extends through the reinforcement structure 40, through the latching geometry 17 and through the guide element 41. The depth of the slot 19 increases linearly in the direction of the reinforcement structure 40. More precisely, the slot 19 starts in the reinforcement structure 40 and deepens towards the guide element 41.
- the locking element 15 can be pressed together.
- the latching element 15 can, for example, be compressed to such an extent that the latching geometry 17 can be guided past a constriction or a projection.
- the latching element 15 can then at least partially return to its original shape.
- the locking geometry 17 is arranged in a non-positive and/or positive manner behind the projection.
- the slot 19 has a smaller depth in the area of the reinforcement structure 40 in order not to impair the reinforcing function of the reinforcement structure 40 .
- the slot 19 is more pronounced in the area of the locking geometry 17 and the guide element 41, since these areas require a certain elasticity in order to be able to be pressed together during assembly.
- Supporting elements 25 are arranged centrally on the outer surface A′ of the longitudinal sides of the immersion tube 12 .
- the support elements 25 are designed as wings. Alternatively, other shapes such as ribs or webs can be realized.
- the support elements 25 are connected to the underside of the collar 23 and the outer surface A′ of the dip tube 12 .
- the support elements 25 each have a recess on an edge facing away from the collar 23 . On the function of the support members 25 is below with a view to 6 received in more detail.
- the fluid-conducting areas of the upper part 11 are rounded. This ensures that residual fluid cannot remain on any surface and dirt can thus be deposited. The fluid is always discharged essentially completely.
- the upper part 11 has two holding means 24 .
- the holding means 24 are each arranged opposite one another on an inner surface of the transverse sides in the funnel-shaped area.
- the holding means 24 have rounded surfaces and each extend in the direction of the opposite holding means 24 and are inclined away from the dip tube 12 upwards.
- the rounded surfaces and the inclination of the holding means 24 are advantageous for the drainage of the fluid and prevent residual fluid from remaining on the surfaces. Furthermore, it is possible to easily remove the odor trap for maintenance using the holding means 24 .
- the figures 4 and 5 show a lower part 13 of the odor trap.
- the lower part 13 comprises a container 14 which is open at the top. Open at the top means that the container 14 is open at the top in the assembled state.
- the container 14 is elongate in cross-section with longitudinal and transverse sides, the longitudinal sides of the container 14 being straight and the transverse sides being in the shape of a circular arc.
- the top edge 26 of the container 14 is rounded.
- the rounded top edge 26 forms a circumferential overflow edge.
- the all-round overflow edge is advantageous because it prevents or reduces turbulence in the fluid to be discharged.
- the curves prevent residues of the fluid to be discharged from sticking.
- the container 14 has an inner surface I'.
- a locking receptacle is arranged on the inner surface I' of the transverse sides.
- the latching receptacle comprises two webs 20 which are arranged symmetrically to a plane of symmetry parallel to the longitudinal sides.
- the webs 20 extend from the top edge 26 in the direction of the bottom of the container 14.
- the axial ends of the webs 20 in the area of the top edge 26 are at a greater distance than the opposite axial ends of the webs 20.
- the greater spacing of the webs 20 from one another in the region of the upper edge 26 allows the locking element 15 to be inserted into the locking receptacle.
- the smaller distance between the opposite axial ends of the webs 20 prevents the upper part 11 from being pushed too far into the lower part 13 .
- An inner contour 21 is formed between the axial ends of the webs 20 .
- the inner contour 21 corresponds at least in sections to an outer contour 22 of the locking geometry 17 of the locking element 15.
- the webs 20 are each curved away from one another, so that an inner contour 21 that is essentially circular in sections is formed.
- the circular inner contour 21 corresponds to the cylindrical shape of the locking geometry 17 or with the im Cross-section circular locking geometry 17.
- a constriction is arranged in front of the respective curvature or in front of the inner contour 21. The distance between the webs 20 in the area of the constriction is smaller than the width of the locking geometry 17.
- the locking element 15 is compressed.
- the narrowing of the webs 20 is advantageous since the latching geometry 17 is arranged in the latching receptacle in a releasably positive and/or non-positive manner.
- a first elevation 42 is arranged centrally on the bottom of the container.
- the first elevation 42 is used during assembly to center the odor trap in a component provided for this purpose.
- FIG. 6 shows the installed odor trap.
- the upper part 11 is pushed into the lower part 13 to such an extent that the support elements 25 rest with the recesses on the upper edge 26 and the locking elements 15 are arranged in the locking receptacle.
- the height of the container 14 corresponds to the height of the barrier fluid column.
- the column of barrier fluid penetrates both the dip tube 12 and the tank 14.
- the barrier fluid is the fluid that remains in the tank 14 and the dip tube 12 and prevents gases from exiting the sewer system through the drain.
- a circumferential gap is formed between the underside of the collar 23 and the upper edge 26 of the container 14 by the supporting elements 25 .
- the gap has a height of 8 mm. Depending on the requirements, the gap can be dimensioned differently.
- the locking element 15 is arranged in the locking receptacle as described above. More precisely, the locking geometry 17 is arranged in the area between the webs 20 whose inner contour corresponds essentially and/or at least in sections to the outer contour of the locking geometry 17 . The constriction prevents the latching element 17 from being removed from the latching receptacle without external force being applied and thus preventing the upper part 11 from being displaced.
- the Figures 7, 8 and 9 show a drain pan 30, in which the odor trap described above can be arranged.
- the drain pot is open at the top.
- the side walls 31 of the drain pan 30 are convexly curved outwards along the circumference. In 9 it can be seen that the side walls 31 are arc-shaped in cross section. Alternatively, spherical or ball-shaped side walls 31 are possible.
- the volume of the drain pot 30 is increased by the convex curvature.
- the curvature also improves the flow behavior of the fluid to be discharged. As a result, a backwater or overflow of the drain pan 30 can be avoided.
- the drain pan 30 In the area of the opening, the drain pan 30 has a non-curved section along the circumference. The function of this section is that the drain pot can be butt welded.
- Anchor elements 35 are arranged on the outside.
- the anchor elements 35 extend between the opening of the drain pan 30 and its bottom.
- the anchor elements 35 are designed as beads.
- Other variants for anchor elements 35, such as ribs or extensions, are conceivable.
- the drain pan 30 has two connection areas 32 .
- a connection piece 33 is arranged on a connection area 32 .
- the connection areas 32 have rounded surfaces. In other words, the connection areas have funnel-shaped or conical areas. It is conceivable that the drain pot 30 has up to four connection areas 32 or connection pieces 33 .
- the funnel-shaped or conical connection areas 32 are advantageous for the flow behavior of the fluid to be discharged.
- the funnel-shaped connection areas 32 result in fewer turbulences and the fluid can be discharged more quickly through the connection piece 33 .
- a second elevation 43 is arranged on the bottom of the drain pot 30 .
- the second elevation 43 corresponds to the first elevation 42 of the odor trap.
- the odor trap is installed with the first Collection 42 on the second survey 43 arranged. So the odor trap in the drain pot 30 is centered.
- FIG. 10 shows an embodiment of a drain pot 30 with lower side walls 31.
- the drain pot 30 essentially corresponds to the exemplary embodiment described above.
- the convex curvature is particularly advantageous in the case of the embodiment with lower side walls 31, since good drainage behavior is even more important due to the smaller volume.
- the Figures 11a and 11b show a gutter 36 to which the in the Figures 7, 8 and 9 illustrated drain pot 30 is arranged.
- the drain pot 30 is welded to the drain channel 36 .
- End plates 37 are arranged at the axial ends of the drainage channel 36 .
- the end plates 37 are arranged on the side of the drain channel 36 on which the drain pan 30 is located.
- the end plate 37 has an elongated hole 38 .
- the elongated hole 38 extends centrally on the end plate 37 and perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the drainage channel 36.
- the slot 38 has the function that the end plate 37 can claw into the floor material, for example screed. Furthermore, a stepless height adjustment of the drainage channel 36 is possible through the elongated hole 38 . As a result, the drainage channel 36 can be adjusted to the ground level. Alternatively, it is possible that the end plate 37 is bent in order to improve the anchor property.
- the Figures 12a and 12b essentially correspond to the Figures 11a and 11b .
- the end plate 37 has two elongated holes 38 and a bore 39 .
- the elongated holes 38 are arranged parallel to one another.
- the bore 39 is arranged on the central longitudinal axis of the end plate 37 below the elongated holes.
- the bore 39 is advantageous because an electrical grounding can be implemented in a simple manner through the bore 39 .
- the Figures 13a and 13b correspond to the Figures 12a and 12b . and show the embodiment from the Figures 12a and 12b with the drain pot 30 according to the figure 10 .
