Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a sealing unit for a door or a window.
  • Lowerable door seals usually consist of a housing rail in the form of a U-shaped profile rail open at the bottom, a sealing strip held in this housing rail and movable relative thereto with a sealing element, and a lowering mechanism for lowering and raising the sealing strip.
  • the sealing strip usually lowers automatically when the door is closed, in that a force acts in the longitudinal direction on an actuating rod and activates the mechanical lowering mechanism against a spring force.
  • sliding seals are known which also seal a door gap between a movable door leaf and a frame or building part.
  • WO 2016/066576 A1 and WO 2016/066577 A2 disclose a door seal which is suitable for use in exterior doors and which offers optimal protection against driving rain.
  • This seal discloses a lowerable sealing strip with a support rail and a sealing profile, the sealing profile sealing at least on one end face, preferably on both end faces, relative to the door frame.
  • the sealing profile is held in the carrier rail so that it can be displaced in the longitudinal direction.
  • Their projection in relation to the carrier rail and thus also in relation to the housing rail can be adjusted by means of an adjustable pressure plate which is connected to the sealing profile.
  • EP 3 203 006 A1 proposes to allow the sealing profile to protrude in the raised state on one or both end faces of the sealing device, it also being proposed that the sealing profile protrudes beyond the carrier rail.
  • the sealing device according to the invention for a door or a window has a housing rail and a sealing strip with a carrier rail and a sealing profile.
  • the sealing strip can be lowered and raised relative to the housing rail by means of a lowering mechanism, with the sealing strip moving without changing its own length when lowered.
  • the sealing profile has a first front end and a second front end opposite the first front end. This first and the second front end are arranged relative to the housing rail in such a way that both of the two front ends protrude beyond the front side of the housing rail and seal the front side when the sealing strip is in the lowered state.
  • the sealing profile protrudes on both sides of the housing rail when lowered, it can be used not only for sealing against the floor, but also for sealing on both sides at the front.
  • the sealing strip only moves in the vertical direction when lowering and raising.
  • the sealing strip moves by a first length relative to the housing rail without changing its own length when lowered in the longitudinal direction of the sealing device. This movement is usually due to the lowering mechanism, specifically the flexing the at least one leaf spring of the lowering mechanism, one end of the leaf spring being displaced in the longitudinal direction of the housing rail by means of a slide, a middle end being fixed to the sealing strip and another end of the leaf spring being fixed in position on the housing rail.
  • Other types of lowering mechanisms also produce longitudinal displacement.
  • the first front end can be pushed towards the housing rail in the longitudinal direction of the sealing device when the sealing strip is lowered and the second front end is pushed away from the housing rail in the longitudinal direction of the sealing device when the sealing strip is lowered, with both ends being displaced by the first length mentioned above , i.e. by the lateral displacement of the sealing strip caused by the lowering mechanism.
  • the first front end When the sealing strip is in the raised state, the first front end preferably protrudes in the longitudinal direction of the sealing device by a second length of the housing rail, this second length being greater than the lateral displacement of the sealing strip. Thus, when the seal is lowered, this first end still protrudes from the housing rail.
  • the second front end When the sealing strip is in the raised state, the second front end preferably protrudes in the longitudinal direction of the sealing device by a third length from the housing rail or is set back by this length in the housing rail.
  • This third length is preferably less than the first length.
  • the lowering mechanism comprises at least one leaf spring, which is attached to a slide at one end, is held pivotably to the housing at a second end and is connected to the sealing strip in the middle region.
  • the slide is preferably connected to an actuating button which is activated automatically when the door leaf is closed is actuated and thus activates the lowering mechanism.
  • actuating button is preferably located on an end face of the housing rail and is pressed in the direction of the housing rail when it is closed. It is used for one-sided release of the seal. In other embodiments, however, it can also be pulled and/or it is arranged laterally on the housing rail.
  • the lowering mechanism can thus be activated by means of an actuating button protruding on one side of the housing rail in order to lower the sealing strip.
  • the first front end of the sealing profile is preferably arranged on the same side as the actuating knob, protruding in the raised state by a greater length than the second front end. This ensures that the first end still protrudes from the housing rail even after the sealing strip has been lowered, but the second end does not protrude too far in the lowered state.
  • the sealing profile is preferably held in the carrier rail, being displaceable at both front ends in the longitudinal direction of the sealing device relative to the carrier rail and being held fixed in these displacement positions even when the sealing strip is in the raised state. This enables the sealing profile to be easily extended, for example by pulling it outwards on both sides.
  • a displacement module is preferably provided on at least one end face, preferably on each end face of the housing rail, by means of which the sealing profile can be brought into the displacement position and fixed in this position.
  • the at least one displacement module facilitates the lengthening of the sealing profile, in particular the stretching. At the same time, it serves to hold the sealing profile in the desired position.
  • the sealing device minimises the use of at least one displacement module, known Use sealing strips with known carrier rails and sealing profiles in a simple manner in the sealing device according to the invention.
  • the carrier rail or the sealing profile is to be modified in such a way that the sealing profile is slidably held in the carrier rail and the carrier rail is to be modified in such a way that a displacement module can be mounted on it on one side or on both sides.
  • the at least one displacement module can be displaced with respect to the carrier rail in the longitudinal direction of the sealing device and can be fixed in the displacement position.
  • the at least one displacement module preferably forms an extension of the carrier rail. If there are two sliding modules, they form an extension of the carrier rail on both sides.
  • the at least one displacement module is preferably screwed to the carrier rail. The screw connection preferably serves to adjust the position of the at least one displacement module relative to the carrier rail in the longitudinal direction of the seal and thus the length of the sealing profile.
  • the sealing profile is preferably connected to the at least one displacement module. As a result, the sealing profile is pulled along by moving the displacement module. A lateral connection of the sealing profile to at least one displacement module is thus possible.
  • the sealing profile can, if desired, be designed to be open on both sides at the front.
  • the lateral, upper, lower and/or end connection can be made in different ways. It is easy to produce if the sealing profile is glued to the at least one displacement module.
  • the carrier rail is preferably made in one piece from a rigid extruded profile, in particular from aluminium.
  • the sealing profile is made in one piece from an elastic material. It is preferably made of silicone or rubber and is preferably sufficiently elastic to be stretched to desired lengths.
  • the sealing profile can be provided with material reserves in order to enable a change in length.
  • the method according to the invention enables the sealing device to be installed quickly and easily, with the same method also being possible without the fastening step can be used when servicing the sealing device.
  • the sealing device is attached in a first step in or on a door leaf of the door or a window leaf of the window.
  • the sealing profile is then stretched as required at one front end using the associated displacement module. If there are two displacement modules, the sealing profile is then preferably lengthened as required at the other front end by means of the associated displacement module.
  • the door or window sash is closed and the weatherstrip is lowered to check the protrusion of the two ends of the weatherstrip when lowered relative to a frame of the door or window.
  • the protruding length of the two ends is corrected once or several times when the sealing strip is in the raised state.
  • a length of the sealing profile that is optimal for the lateral seal can be set without subsequently cutting the sealing profile to size and without using sealing cushions arranged in the door frame.
  • a sealing device according to the invention is shown in the raised state, ie usually with the door leaf open. It has a housing rail 1 with a substantially U-shaped cross section which is open towards the bottom. Two legs 10 running parallel to one another are connected to one another via an upper web 11 .
  • a sealing strip can be lowered and raised in the housing rail 1 .
  • the sealing strip has a carrier rail 2 and a sealing profile 3 arranged thereon.
  • the housing rail 1 and the carrier rail 2 are preferably made of a metal, in particular aluminum.
  • the sealing profile 3 is preferably made of one elastic material, preferably made of an elastomeric material and more preferably made of silicone or rubber.
  • the housing rail 1, the carrier rail 2 and the sealing profile 3 are each formed in one piece.
  • the sealing profile 3 preferably has an essentially U-shaped cross section with two legs 30 and a lower web 31 connecting these two legs 30 to one another. Inwardly projecting ribs 32 are present on the legs 30 over the entire length of the sealing profile 3 and are held in corresponding grooves 20 of the support rail 2 .
  • the grooves 20 are in figure 8 recognizable.
  • the grooves 20 preferably have a slightly larger cross section than the webs 32, so that the sealing profile 3 can be displaced along the grooves 20 in a simple manner.
  • the sealing strip is lowered by means of a lowering mechanism, which is not shown here but is known.
  • the lowering mechanism with leaf springs and slides used in the applicant's products is used.
  • the lowering mechanism is preferably triggered on one side at the front by an actuating button 4 .
  • the operating button 4 is on the door frame and is pressed in.
  • the sealing strip is thereby lowered on the one hand, but also shifted in the longitudinal direction relative to the housing rail 1. In this example, it is shifted to the right in the direction of movement of the actuating button 4 and thus of the slide along the longitudinal extension L of the device. This is by comparing the figures 1 and 3 good to see.
  • the length of the shift results from the difference between the lengths X 1 minus Y 1 and Y 2 minus X 2 .
  • the two differences mentioned are the same, since the length of the entire sealing strip, in particular of the sealing profile 3, does not change during the lateral displacement.
  • the sealing profile 3 protrudes at least at one end of the housing rail 1 when the sealing strip is raised.
  • a first end 33 of the sealing profile 3 protrudes beyond the end face of the housing rail 1 on the actuating knob side 4 by the length X 1 , called the second length here.
  • a second end 34 of the sealing profile 3 protrudes on the opposite end face by the length X 2 , referred to here as the third length.
  • the sealing profile 3 is arranged on both sides of the housing rail 1 in such a way that, when lowered, it bridges a gap to the door frame or to another door leaf or to another component and thus seals it on both end faces of the sealing device.
  • the protruding length of the sealing profile 3 is preferably adjusted in a targeted manner on both end faces.
  • a displacement module 5 is preferably used for this purpose on both sides, which not only adjusts the length of the sealing profile 3 but also keeps it fixed in relation to the carrier profile 2 in this selected length. This fixation is present not only in the lowered state, but also in the raised state.
  • the displacement module 5 is based on the Figures 5 to 10 described. It has an essentially cuboid base body 50 with upward-pointing lateral legs and a fork 55 arranged on the back of the base body 50 .
  • the fork 55 engages in a cavity 22 in the carrier rail 2 .
  • a through opening 53 in the base body 50 is aligned with a round channel 21 of the carrier rail 2 arranged under the cavity 22.
  • Two lateral receiving grooves 56 in the base body 50 of the receiving module 5 serve to receive the ribs 32 of the sealing profile 3.
  • the two Connecting surfaces 54 roughened.
  • the ribs 32 are preferably also glued to the receiving grooves 56 .
  • the displacement module 5 is inserted into the carrier rail 2, with their distance to Face of the carrier rail 2 is adjustable.
  • the base body 50 of the displacement module 5 bears against the end face of the carrier rail 2 at the smallest distance.
  • the displacement module 5 can be fixed to the carrier rail 2 at the selected distance from the carrier rail 2 by means of a screw 6 which is guided through the opening 53 .
  • the position of the displacement module 5 relative to the carrier rail 2 can be adjusted along the longitudinal extent L of the sealing device by screwing the screw 6 more or less into the round channel 21 of the carrier rail 2 .
  • the displacement module 5 is held in a fixed position relative to the carrier rail 2 .
  • the screw 6 is secured in its position in the longitudinal extension L of the sealing device by being held captive in the displacement module 5, for example, as is shown in FIGS Figures 9 and 10 is recognizable.
  • the displacement module 5 has a lower opening 57 for this purpose, for example. This fixes the stretched or elongated sealing profile 3 in the desired and set length.
  • the sealing device has such a displacement module 5 at at least one end, preferably at both ends of the carrier rail 2 .
  • the two displacement modules 5 are preferably of identical design and both are secured in their position in the longitudinal extension L of the sealing device with a screw 6 each.
  • the sealing device enables an adjustable seal on at least one, preferably on both, end faces of the door or window sash in a simple manner, with the sealing device being relatively easy to mount, adjust and readjust.
