Definitions

  • This invention relates to an electric connector.
  • the connectors of known type generally comprise a tail member adapted to house the electric cable and a head member that can be coupled to the tail member and provided with at least one connector element to which the electric cable must be connected in order to connect the latter to a connecting element.
  • the connecting element is generally another electric connector of the type complementary to the first one, so as to achieve a coupling of the male-female type between the two connectors, for example of the plug and socket type.
  • the tail member generally comprises a cable gland assembly adapted to prevent the cable from being pulled out of the connector and the head member comprises blocking means adapted to electrically connect the cable to the connector element.
  • the electric connectors of this type comprise an elastically deformable element to open and close a cable blocking point defined between the connector element and the elastically deformable element itself.
  • this type of connector provides for an opening/closing procedure of the blocking point which is carried out by a specialized operator, who acts on the elastically deformable element by means of a special tool, such as e.g. a screwdriver, or by means of the pressure of the elastically deformable element by means of the cable itself, which is forced inside the blocking point.
  • a specialized operator who acts on the elastically deformable element by means of a special tool, such as e.g. a screwdriver, or by means of the pressure of the elastically deformable element by means of the cable itself, which is forced inside the blocking point.
