Definitions
- the present invention relates to a bar for a grate roller for an incinerator furnace hearth, with improved air circulation.
- the invention also relates to a roller provided with such a bar, and a grid provided with such a roller.
- the invention finds application in particular to the incineration of standard waste, but also special waste such as solid recovered fuels (SRF).
- SRF solid recovered fuels
- the elements on which the combustible materials rest such as the bars of the rollers of an incinerator furnace hearth grate, are subjected to very severe thermal stresses, between heating due to thermal radiation and contact with burning materials, and cooling from the blowing of combustion air.
- the bars of the rollers therefore constitute a lining formed from refractory castings mounted with play on a supporting framework.
- the design of these bars, as a lining for rotating grate rollers, thus poses particular problems, insofar as this lining is subjected to thermal cycles with heating in the hearth, for nearly half a turn of the roller. , and cooling below the hearth for the remainder of the roller rotation.
- the bars as packing elements, perform a rotation on themselves relative to the vertical, in the direction of gravity, at the same time as they are rotated by the roller. Also, their attachment to the frame of the roller must make it possible to maintain them in the three directions perpendicular, peripheral radial or tangential, and axial.
- the frame of a roller has a cylindrical cage structure, with T-section steel side members arranged along generatrices of the roller at regular angular spacing, between two end plates.
- the longitudinal web of these cross-sectional beams T is oriented in a plane passing through the axis of the roller, and directed towards this axis.
- the packing elements are therefore bars in the form of ring segments, which each extend between two neighboring spars, and follow one another end to end on the periphery of the roller to form a ring in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the roller. roller. Furthermore, these rings follow one another juxtaposed from one flange to the other, and a gap is made between two adjacent rings for the blowing of combustion air, for example by means of bearing keys formed entirely in the bar and obtained during the manufacture by molding of this bar. On contact, the range keys of two axially adjacent bars therefore determine the minimum width of the gap.
- the bars have a T-section, perpendicular to the periphery of the ring, with a longitudinal web forming a central rib directed towards the axis of the roller, in a plane perpendicular to this axis.
- the wings or plate form the support surface for the fuel mass. Attachment of the bars is obtained by leaving notches at the two ends of the longitudinal web which engage around the wings or plate of the T-section side members as well.
- these bars are inserted into the notch or notches provided for the manufacture on the side members, one after the other, parallel to the axis of the roller.
- the first bars can be presented by forming an angle with respect to a plane perpendicular to the axis of the roller, between the side members, so that the longitudinal web of the corresponding bar, below the notches, passes between the wings. or plate of the side members, then this bar is brought back to its normal orientation.
- a bar for a grid which is not intended for a roller grid, and which has fins arranged under the plate on each side of the longitudinal web, each fin extending on the one hand from the longitudinal web and on the other hand from the lower surface of the plate, promoting cooling by channeling the combustion air in the longitudinal direction of the bar, by means of notches formed in the fins which cooperate with the notches formed in the fins of the adjacent bar.
- this type of bar apart from the fact that it is not suitable for mounting on the periphery of the frame of a roller due to its rectilinear shape, does not have sufficient cooling capacity for all types of waste. This is also the case for the known bars having an arcuate shape suitable for mounting on the frame of a roller.
- these bars are well suited for mounting in grids intended for the incineration of solid waste, household waste or industrial residues which have an erratic structure, a high moisture content and a relatively low calorific value, because such grids cause a displacement, a deflection and an inversion of the combustible layers which descend the cascade of rollers, and lend themselves to a distributed blowing of combustion air at high flow rate, favorable to the drying of the waste upon entry into the incinerator and upon acceleration of combustion.
- the object of the invention is in particular to provide a roller bar for an incinerator hearth grid, a corresponding roller and a grid, which is suitable for the treatment of special waste without premature wear of the bars or necessity.
- Each fin extends from the longitudinal core so as to present a portion which protrudes from the plate, and each fin of the first group has an overall shape that is substantially identical and parallel to the overall shape of a determined fin of the second. group and is arranged offset with respect to this determined fin of the second group according to a given offset, so that, when the bar is arranged on a grate roller for an incinerator furnace hearth juxtaposed with a neighboring bar, the portion of each fin of the first group of the bar projecting from the plate defines, with the determined portion of the fin of the second group of the neighboring bar projecting from the plate of this neighboring bar, a calibrated air circulation channel.
- a grid roller for an incinerator furnace hearth comprising at least two longitudinal members extending parallel to the axis of the roller according to two respective generatrices of the roller, and comprising at least a bar as presented above and the front and rear ends of which are placed respectively on the two side members.
- the pipe system via the fins under the tray of the bar of the invention is formed of calibrated channels which increase the combustion air flow over the surface of the bar, therefore of the roller and the grid, and therefore promotes combustion, in particular of special waste, while amplifying the cooling of the bar.
- the phenomenon of precipitated air obtained with the bar of the invention makes it possible to naturally clean the blowing intervals between the bars, and to create a sweeping effect, by lifting the fuel to the surface of the grate, thus maintain optimal and stable combustion over time.
- the hearth grate for an incineration furnace of the invention comprises a series or cascade of rollers driven in rotation around their respective parallel horizontal axes, including at least one roller 2 according to the invention.
- the roller 2 comprises a framework in the form of a cylindrical cage.
- This frame comprises side members 12 mounted between two flanges, and oriented along generatrices of the roller 2, therefore parallel to the axis of the roller 2. These side members 12 are distributed over the periphery of the frame.
- the roller 2 comprises at least two side members 12, and a plurality of bars, including at least one bar 1, 10, 11 according to the invention, the front and rear ends 4, 5 of the bar 1, 10, 11 being respectively placed on the two side members 12.
- the bars are arranged perpendicular to the generatrices of the roller 2.
- the roller 2 comprises several bars according to the invention, arranged end to end so as to form a ring on the surface of the roller 2.
- the roller 2 comprises several bars 1, 10, 11 according to the invention, arranged two by two adjacent and extending perpendicularly to the generatrices of the roller 2.
- intermediate rings 9 formed of ring segments, so that two segments of two respective intermediate rings 9 frame groups of at least two bars 1, 10, 11 arranged adjacent.
- the bar 1 comprises a plate 3, a longitudinal web 6 and fins 7, 8.
- the plate 3 has an arcuate shape in the longitudinal direction of the bar 1.
- the upper surface of the plate 3 is intended to receive waste to be incinerated.
- the plate 3 is extended and extends between two ends, respectively rear and front 4, 5.
- the longitudinal core 6 is formed integrally with the plate 3. It is located under the latter, and extends on the one hand perpendicularly from the lower surface of the plate 3 to a lower edge, and on the other hand at least partially between the rear and front ends 4, 5 of the plate 3.
- the fins 7, 8 are grouped together in a first group of fins 7 and a second group of fins 8. They are arranged under the plate 3 on either side of the longitudinal web 6. More precisely, the fins 7 of the first group of fins are arranged on a first side of the longitudinal web 6, and the fins 8 of the second group of fins (shown in dotted lines on the figure 3 ) are arranged on the other side of the longitudinal web 6.
- These fins 7, 8 extend on the one hand from the longitudinal core 6, and on the other hand from the lower surface of the plate 3. They are formed integrally with the longitudinal core 6 and the plate 3.
- the fins 7, 8 extend from the longitudinal core 6 perpendicularly thereto.
- each fin 7, 8 extends from the longitudinal core 6 so as to present a portion which protrudes from the plate 3.
- each fin 7 of the first group has an overall shape that is substantially identical and parallel to the overall shape of a determined fin 8 of the second group and is arranged in an offset manner with respect to this determined fin 8 of the second group.
- This offset given between a fin 7 of the first group, and the corresponding offset fin 8 of the second group is calibrated and determines, once the bar 1 is mounted on a roller 2, the width of an air circulation channel 14. More precisely, when the bar 1 is arranged on a roller 2 of a grate for an incinerator furnace juxtaposed to a neighboring bar 10, 11, the portion of each fin 7 of the first group of the bar 1 protruding from the plate 3 defines, with the portion of the corresponding fin 8 of the second group from the neighboring bar 11 projecting from the plate of this neighboring bar 11, a channel 14 for the circulation of calibrated air.
- each fin 8 of the second group of the bar 1 projecting from the plate 3 defines, with the portion of the corresponding fin 7 of the first group of the neighboring bar 10 projecting from the plate of this neighboring bar 11, a channel 14 calibrated air circulation.
- the fins 7, 8 extend from the lower surface of the plate 3 to the lower end, or lower edge, of the longitudinal core 6.
- the through hole 15 is formed in the longitudinal core 6. It is intended to receive a connecting rod making it possible to link several bars 1, 10, 11 together, as explained above.
- two fins 7, on one side of the longitudinal core 6, and two fins 8 on the other side of the longitudinal core 6, extend from the lower surface of the plate 3 and stopping before the lower edge of the longitudinal core 6 and are distributed on either side of the through hole 15.
- These fins 7, 8 extend from the lower surface of the plate 3 in a substantially direction perpendicular to the tangent to the arched upper surface of the plate 3 in the projection, on this upper surface of the plate 3, of the junction point of the corresponding fin 7, 8 with the lower surface of the plate 3.
- the other fins 7, 8 extend from the lower surface of the plate 3 in a direction substantially inclined with respect to the tangent to the surface. arched upper of the plate 3 in the projection, on this upper surface of the plate 3, of the junction point of the corresponding fin with the lower surface of the plate 3.
- each fin 7, 8 extends from the lower surface of the plate 3 in a main direction, and has an overall S shape centered on said main direction.
- the fins 7, 8 of determined shape and position allow an optimization of the combustion. Thanks to the parallel offset between fins 7, 8 on either side of the longitudinal core 6, calibrated channels 14 are created. This makes it possible to increase the flow of combustion air over the surface of the bar 1, therefore of the roller 2, and therefore of the grid, and to amplify the cooling of the bar 1, therefore to increase its life.
- the configuration with the fins 7, 8, positioned perpendicular to the side faces of the longitudinal web 6 of the bar 1, makes it possible to limit the penetration of fines and metal castings (aluminum), into the structure of the roller 1, avoiding thus the jams inside the roller 2, which could cause its deformation.
- the invention is not limited to the example illustrated in the figures in which the fins have an S-shape, nor to a determined number of fins per bar.

Description
The present invention relates to a bar for a grate roller for an incinerator furnace hearth, with improved air circulation. The invention also relates to a roller provided with such a bar, and a grid provided with such a roller. The invention finds application in particular to the incineration of standard waste, but also special waste such as solid recovered fuels (SRF).
In the hearth of an incinerator furnace, the elements on which the combustible materials rest, such as the bars of the rollers of an incinerator furnace hearth grate, are subjected to very severe thermal stresses, between heating due to thermal radiation and contact with burning materials, and cooling from the blowing of combustion air.
The bars of the rollers therefore constitute a lining formed from refractory castings mounted with play on a supporting framework. The design of these bars, as a lining for rotating grate rollers, thus poses particular problems, insofar as this lining is subjected to thermal cycles with heating in the hearth, for nearly half a turn of the roller. , and cooling below the hearth for the remainder of the roller rotation.
Furthermore, the bars, as packing elements, perform a rotation on themselves relative to the vertical, in the direction of gravity, at the same time as they are rotated by the roller. Also, their attachment to the frame of the roller must make it possible to maintain them in the three directions perpendicular, peripheral radial or tangential, and axial.
Conventionally, the frame of a roller has a cylindrical cage structure, with T-section steel side members arranged along generatrices of the roller at regular angular spacing, between two end plates. The longitudinal web of these cross-sectional beams T is oriented in a plane passing through the axis of the roller, and directed towards this axis.
The packing elements are therefore bars in the form of ring segments, which each extend between two neighboring spars, and follow one another end to end on the periphery of the roller to form a ring in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the roller.
The bars have a T-section, perpendicular to the periphery of the ring, with a longitudinal web forming a central rib directed towards the axis of the roller, in a plane perpendicular to this axis. The wings or plate form the support surface for the fuel mass. Attachment of the bars is obtained by leaving notches at the two ends of the longitudinal web which engage around the wings or plate of the T-section side members as well.
For the installation of these bars, they are inserted into the notch or notches provided for the manufacture on the side members, one after the other, parallel to the axis of the roller. Note, however, that the first bars can be presented by forming an angle with respect to a plane perpendicular to the axis of the roller, between the side members, so that the longitudinal web of the corresponding bar, below the notches, passes between the wings. or plate of the side members, then this bar is brought back to its normal orientation.
The need to provide differential expansion clearances between a bar and the framework, the possible wear of the span keys, and the jamming of debris from the combustible mass between the bars, can cause substantial variations in the actual width of the intervals. between bars, over the axial extent of the roller. this is all the more true if this extent is important. This leads to a disturbance in the combustible mass.
This drawback can be mitigated, while facilitating the dismantling of the roller, by dividing the rings into a plurality of groups, separated by intermediate rings formed of ring segment pieces, with a first end fixed, for example by bolting, on a spar, and a second end resting on the spar immediately aft. This second end is linked with the first end of the adjoining intermediate piece at the rear, by a connection, for example of the tenon type (in the second end of one) - mortise (in the first end of the other).
It will thus be understood that, in place, these spacers limit the axial play of the group of rings with which they are associated by proximity, and that, removed, they allow a biasing of the bars, sufficient to allow disassembly without requiring sliding. the bars up to the notch provided on the side members and normally intended for assembly.
However, this type of bar, apart from the fact that it is not suitable for mounting on the periphery of the frame of a roller due to its rectilinear shape, does not have sufficient cooling capacity for all types of waste. This is also the case for the known bars having an arcuate shape suitable for mounting on the frame of a roller.
In particular, these bars are well suited for mounting in grids intended for the incineration of solid waste, household waste or industrial residues which have an erratic structure, a high moisture content and a relatively low calorific value, because such grids cause a displacement, a deflection and an inversion of the combustible layers which descend the cascade of rollers, and lend themselves to a distributed blowing of combustion air at high flow rate, favorable to the drying of the waste upon entry into the incinerator and upon acceleration of combustion.
However, when it comes to the treatment of special waste, with a homogeneous structure, low moisture content, and high calorific value, such as solid recovered fuels or SRF, the bars of known type are not satisfactory in terms of cooling and combustion air circulation, resulting in a reduced service life for these bars subjected to high thermal stresses. This causes rapid wear of the bars, and an increased number and time of maintenance interventions, which has significant financial consequences for the operator of the incinerator.
One of the aims of the invention is therefore to solve in particular the aforementioned problems. Thus, the object of the invention is in particular to provide a roller bar for an incinerator hearth grid, a corresponding roller and a grid, which is suitable for the treatment of special waste without premature wear of the bars or necessity.

Another subject of the invention, according to a second aspect, is a grid roller for an incinerator furnace hearth comprising at least two longitudinal members extending parallel to the axis of the roller according to two respective generatrices of the roller, and comprising at least a bar as presented above and the front and rear ends of which are placed respectively on the two side members.

Thus, the pipe system via the fins under the tray of the bar of the invention, is formed of calibrated channels which increase the combustion air flow over the surface of the bar, therefore of the roller and the grid, and therefore promotes combustion, in particular of special waste, while amplifying the cooling of the bar.
This makes it possible to increase the life of the bar, and therefore to reduce maintenance interventions, and the corresponding cost.
In addition, the phenomenon of precipitated air obtained with the bar of the invention makes it possible to naturally clean the blowing intervals between the bars, and to create a sweeping effect, by lifting the fuel to the surface of the grate, thus maintain optimal and stable combustion over time.
