Definitions

  • the technical field of the invention is that of water pipes, in particular portable water pipes.
  • Water pipes also called hookahs, or shisha pipes, are special pipes in which the smoke produced by the combustion of tobacco is brought into a water tank through a tube that plunges into the water contained in it. reservoir (tube which is hereinafter called the dip tube). The smoke then passes into the water contained in this tank, in the form of bubbles which hatch on the surface of the water. After having been thus filtered by its passage through water, the smoke is inhaled by the user, via a flexible suction pipe.
  • a water pipe is generally quite large and heavy, and is therefore intended to remain stationary, for example placed on a table, during its use.
  • the suction pipe has a length which is generally of the order of a meter.
  • the diameter of the pipe it is generally between 1 and 3 centimeters, to allow easy aspiration of the smoke.
  • a traditional water pipe is generally bulky.
  • it has a generally complex overall shape, with several members projecting out of the tank (hearth, cup, smoke supply tube, suction pipe), liable to catch on obstacles or detach from the assembly during transport.
  • the suction pipe in particular makes this transport inconvenient, because of its length and its rather large diameter.
  • US 8,905,038 B2 discloses a propeller-shaped suction hose reel placed on the exterior of a portable water pipe.
  • DE 196 48 320 A1 proposes to roll up the suction pipe and place it directly, without using a reel, inside the water pipe for transport.
  • the suction pipe which is bulky, can be easily stored inside the water pipe for the storage or transport of the water pipe.
  • the reel also prevents crushing of the pipe and allows it to be given a moderate and constant radius of curvature.
  • the reel constitutes a removable part, which is not linked to the other elements of the water pipe, and which can be freely withdrawn from the water pipe.
  • the particular configuration defined in the above paragraph makes it possible to divide the internal volume of the pipe into two distinct parts, hermetically separated from each other, one intended to accommodate the reel (with or without the pipe), and the other, in the vase, intended to receive the filtering water. This avoids contacting the hose or the reel with the filtering water.
  • This configuration allows in particular, when using the pipe, so when water is present in the vase, to store the reel in the main body of the pipe (which avoids losing it or making it dirty. ), without putting the reel in contact with the water contained in the vessel.
  • This arrangement also makes it possible, when the pipe is in the transport configuration (with the pipe wound on the reel and housed in the annular receptacle in question) to prevent soiling or wetting of the pipe. This is interesting because the pipe should be kept clean and free from mold as much as possible.
  • This configuration also makes it possible to limit the volume of the vessel (since the pipe is housed outside the vessel itself), which simplifies any cleaning of the vessel and avoids overfilling with water.
  • the suction opening can be made in the cap (rather than in a side wall of the main body, for example), which then allows great freedom of arrangement of the internal volume of the water pipe.
  • the cap can be shaped so as to be able to be engaged in the upper opening of the annular housing defined by the annular receptacle mentioned above, so as to hermetically close this housing, as well as the internal volume of the pipe, when the hat is in place on the main body of the pipe.
  • the reel can be provided, at a lower end of the helix formed by said rib, with a first fixing member in which or on which a neck of the suction pipe can be engaged in force. This secures one end of the hose to the reel, before rewinding the hose.
  • This fixing member can for example be produced in the form of a cylindrical stud having a diameter slightly greater than the internal diameter of the pipe, the axis of the stud being ortho-radial with respect to the axis of the reel (c ' i.e. relative to the axis of the cylindrical tube of the reel).
  • the reel can also be provided, at an upper end of the helix formed by said rib, with a second fixing member in which or on which the suction pipe can be engaged in force.
  • This second fixing member can for example be produced in the form of a pair of platforms, parallel to one another and located opposite each other, each platform extending a portion of the rib in a helix, outwardly, radially relative to the cylindrical tube of the reel.
  • the two platforms in question can be separated by a distance equal to or slightly less than the external diameter of the pipe.
  • the purge duct and the non-return valve can for example be arranged in the bonnet.
  • the cover 7 is useful in particular when the pipe is in use.
  • the grid allows the passage of the air, necessary for the functioning of the pipe, while protecting the hearth, thus preventing the user from being able to burn himself on the charcoal placed on the hearth to allow the combustion of the tobacco.
  • the pipe measures for example between 15 and 30 centimeters high.
  • the figure 2 represents the water pipe 10, in the same configuration as on the figure 1 , but without the cover 7.
  • FIG. 3 is a schematic sectional view of the pipe, in the configuration for use.
  • the vessel 3 is cylindrical. It comprises a bottom 30, and a cylindrical side wall 31 which connects to the bottom 30 and which extends to an opening 32 of the vessel, which is circular. It contains water, identified by the reference 33, in the figures.
  • the vase could however have a shape different from a cylinder; for example, it could be in the form of a flat-bottomed balloon having a circular top opening.
  • the annular receptacle 4 is cylindrical, of the same external diameter as the vessel 3.
  • the cover 7 is moreover also cylindrical, of the same external diameter as the vessel 3, and as the cap 2.
  • the annular receptacle 4 which forms the upper part of the main body of the pipe, comprises an external cylindrical wall 41 and an internal cylindrical wall 44 connected to each other, at their lower end, by a return wall 43, so as to define between them an annular housing L open at its upper end.
  • the annular housing L thus forms a sort of annular groove, with a U-shaped section, open on the upper side, and the bottom of which is formed by the return wall 43.
  • the annular receptacle 4 extends around the axis of the pipe. water (that is to say around the axis on which is centered the main body of the pipe, axis which corresponds here to the axis of the cylindrical walls 41 and 44).
  • the annular receptacle 4 therefore leaves free a central volume, here substantially cylindrical, located at the level of the axis of the pipe (centered on this axis), and which forms a free passage passing through the annular receptacle 4 right through, from the top. down.
  • the return wall 43 is extended orthogonally with respect to the axis of the pipe.
  • the annular receptacle 4 is fixed on the vessel 3 so that the opening 32 of the vessel matches the circular ridge located at the border between the outer cylindrical wall 41 and the return wall 43.
  • the junction between the annular receptacle 4 and the vessel 3 is produced for example by screwing, by means of complementary threads present respectively on the vessel, and at the lower end of the external cylindrical wall 41.
  • the external cylindrical wall 41 can be extended slightly beyond the return wall 43 (which is flat, here), to form a circular rim inside which a screw thread is made.
  • the annular receptacle 4 comprises, in the lower part, a part with a female thread complementary to a male thread present on the vessel 3.
  • the bottom 30 of the vessel 3, its side wall 31, and the external cylindrical wall 41 of the annular receptacle together delimit the internal volume V of the pipe (volume which is therefore cylindrical, here, and which extends from the bottom 30, up to at the open upper end of the annular receptacle
  • the opening (here circular) of the main body 1 is formed here by the free upper end 42 of the external cylindrical wall 41.
  • the cap 2 has the general shape of a thick disc, made of rubber or silicone, closing off the main body 1 of the pipe.
  • the hearth 6 for the combustion of tobacco is located on the top of the cap 2.
  • the cap is further provided with the plunger tube 51 which extends into the internal volume V of the water pipe, in the direction of the bottom 30.
  • the tube plunger passes through the cap 2 to be connected to the hearth 6, so as to place the hearth 6 and the internal volume V of the water pipe in communication.
  • the dip tube 51 extends, from the cap 2 into the vessel 3, through the free passage which passes through the annular receptacle 4 from top to bottom, along the axis of the pipe, to finally dive into the filter water 33.
  • the cap 2 also comprises, on the lower side, a thick annular lip 54, engaged in the (upper) opening of the annular receptacle 4, which makes it possible to hermetically close the annular housing L, as well as the whole of the internal volume V the water pipe (except for the inlet formed by the plunger tube, the outlet formed by the suction opening 52, and a drain opening 23 - see figure 3 ).
  • annular chamber 53 is formed in the cap 2, around the plunger tube 51.
  • the chamber opens out axially, opposite the hearth 6, on the side of the internal volume V of the water pipe.
  • the annular chamber 53 forms a sort of cavity or annular groove open on the lower side, on the side of the internal volume V of the pipe.
  • the annular chamber 53 opens more precisely into the internal volume V, into the space left free between the plunger tube 51 and the annular receptacle 4. Its opening is therefore located between the annular lip 54 and the plunger tube 51.
  • This chamber opens out through elsewhere laterally, outside Ext of the water pipe, via said suction opening 52, formed laterally on the cap 2, thus placing the internal volume (V) of the water pipe and the outside Ext of the water pipe in communication.
  • the annular chamber 53 is connected to the suction opening 52 by a duct 21, which extends, through the cap 2, in a radial direction with respect to the axis of the water pipe. .
  • the internal volume of the pipe could however be placed in communication with the outside, via the suction opening made laterally in the cap, by making a passage in the cap having a different geometry from the annular chamber presented below. above.
  • the water pipe 10 also comprises a purge duct 26, which connects the internal volume V of the water pipe to the outside Ext of the water pipe, and which opens out to the outside of the water pipe via a drain opening 23 separate from suction opening 52 ( figure 3 ).
  • the purge duct 26 and the non-return valve 27 are arranged in the cap 2.
  • the purge duct 26 and the valve 27 allow a user to easily purge the smoke contained in the internal volume V of the pipe. For this, the user blows into the suction pipe 8 (instead of sucking in), which has the effect of increasing the pressure inside this volume and therefore opening the valve 27, then to expel the smoke from the outside of the pipe.
  • the valve 27 closes, thus closing the purge duct 26.
  • the air enters the pipe. only by the hearth 6 (then by the dip tube), accompanied by tobacco smoke, in an operating mode which corresponds to the usual operating mode of a water pipe (as presented in the preamble).
  • the purge opening 23 is formed laterally on the cap 2.
  • the purge duct 26 connects the annular chamber 53 mentioned above to this purge opening. This duct here extends radially relative to the axis of the pipe.
  • valve 27 when the pressure in the pipe is the same as outside it, the valve 27 is closed because, under the effect of its weight, the ball 22 then rests on the seat 24.
  • the valve allows the passage of air and smoke through the purge duct 26 not only on condition that the pressure in the internal volume is greater than the pressure outside the water pipe, but to condition moreover that the pressure in the internal volume exceeds, by a given quantity (which depends on the stiffness of the spring) the pressure outside the pipe.
  • the purge duct could be arranged differently from what has been described above, and the non-return valve could be made in another way (for example by means of a cone instead of of a marble).
  • the removable cap 2 which is separate from the cover 7, has several functions. It serves as a receptacle for the ceramic hearth 6 which is housed therein in an airtight manner.
  • the hearth 6 is the part which receives the smoking tobacco, in the form of molasses in the water pipe. Thanks to its purge duct 26 and to the non-return valve 27, the cap 2 also makes it possible to purge the smoke contained in the internal volume V of the pipe, when the latter is deemed too dense by the user.
  • the cap 2 also makes it possible to diffuse the smoke towards the suction pipe 8, or, in other words, to bring the smoke to the opening of the suction pipe. Finally, it allows the cover 7 to be fitted onto the rest of the pipe.
  • the cap 2 which is connected to many elements of the pipe between them, therefore plays a central role in its structure, and during the assembly and disassembly of the pipe (that is to say when it comes to switch from a transport configuration to a user configuration).
  • making this cap 2 in rubber or silicone allows easy assembly of these different elements, during assembly / disassembly of the pipe, while providing, at the same part, the various waterproof junctions necessary for its operation ( junction hearth - dip tube, closing of the internal volume, and junction with the suction pipe).
  • the suction pipe 8 is connected to the rest of the pipe by the suction opening 52, for example by being inserted therein.
  • the flexible suction pipe 8 has for example a length of between 0.5 and 1.5 meters, and an external diameter of between 1 and 3 centimeters. It can for example be made of food grade silicone.
  • a first end of the pipe 8 may be provided with a handle 11, hollow, placed in the mouth to draw in the smoke. To use the pipe, the handle 11 is forcibly engaged in a first neck 81 of the pipe, that is to say in a first end opening of the pipe. When the pipe is in the transport configuration, the handle is stored in the pipe.
  • the handle 11 which has an internal diameter slightly greater than the external diameter of the plunger tube 51, is engaged on the plunger tube (it is in a way threaded on the plunger tube).
  • the second end of the pipe, 82 is provided here with a connector 12, for example in rigid plastic.
  • the connector 12, which is hollow, is forced into the suction pipe 8 until a flange of the connector rests on the end of the pipe.
  • Part of the connector 12, in the form of a tube then comes out of the pipe.
  • This tube-shaped part is engaged in the suction opening 52 to connect the pipe 8.
  • This rigid connector 12 makes it possible to connect the pipe and the cap, which are all made of flexible material, in a convenient and hermetic manner.
  • This connector 12, much shorter than the handle 11, can be left in place, on the pipe, when the pipe is wound on the reel 9 to be stored in the pipe.
  • the water pipe 10 further comprises a reel 9, of generally cylindrical shape (shown in more detail on the figures 6 to 11 ), around which the flexible pipe 8 can be wound.
  • the suction pipe 8 is wound around the reel 9, and the reel 9 (provided with the hose) is housed in the annular housing L mentioned above.
  • the suction pipe 8 is no longer wound on the reel 9.
  • the reel 9 (which is then no longer fitted with the hose) can again be housed in the annular housing L (which avoids losing it or making it dirty).
  • the reel 9 produced for example by molding a plastic material, comprises a cylindrical tube 91 provided on the outside with a rib 92 which surrounds the cylindrical tube 91 several times, forming a helix, so as to be able to guide the pipe. suction 8 flexible when winding the suction pipe 8 on the cylindrical tube 91. The pitch of the propeller in question is therefore close to the external diameter of the pipe 8.
  • the reel 9 is dimensioned so as to be able to be housed in the internal volume V of the water pipe, and even, more precisely, in the annular housing L of the annular receptacle 4, including when the suction pipe 8 is wound up. on the reel 9.
  • the sum of the external diameter D9 of the cylindrical tube 91 of the reel and twice the external diameter of the suction pipe D8 is therefore less than the internal diameter of the main body 1 of the pipe.
  • this sum is more precisely less than the internal diameter D41 of the external cylindrical wall 41: D9 + 2.D8 ⁇ D41.
  • the internal diameter D9 'of the cylindrical tube 91 is greater than the external diameter D51 of the dip tube.
  • the internal diameter D9 'of the cylindrical tube 91 is more precisely greater than the external diameter D44 of the internal cylindrical wall 44 of the annular receptacle: D9'>D44> D51.
  • the reel 9 is provided, at a lower end 92 'of the helix formed by the rib 92 in question, with a first fixing member in which or on which the neck 81 of the suction pipe can be engaged in force.
  • This first fixing member is produced here in the form of a cylindrical stud 93 having a diameter slightly greater than the internal diameter of the suction pipe 8.
  • the axis of the stud 93 is ortho-radial with respect to the axis of the suction pipe. 'winder (that is to say relative to the axis of the cylindrical tube 91).
  • the stud 93 is positioned lower than the lower end 92 'of the propeller. It is supported by a platform which extends perpendicularly relative to the external surface of the tube 91.
  • the stud 93 makes it possible to fix the first end 81 of the suction pipe 8, on the reel 9, before winding the pipe. .
  • the reel 9 is also provided, at an upper end 92 "of the helix formed by the rib 92, with a second fixing member in which or on which the suction pipe 8 can be engaged by force. finally to secure the pipe 8 and the reel 9, once the pipe has been wound up thereon. , once the pipe has been rolled up.
  • the two platforms 94, 95 are parallel to each other and located opposite each other. Each platform rests in a way on a portion of the helical rib 92 extending this rib radially outwardly. The two platforms 94, 95 are separated by a distance equal to or slightly less than the external diameter D8 of the suction pipe 8.
  • Each platform 94, 95 s' extends, from the outer cylindrical surface of tube 91, a distance which e st here greater than or equal to half of the external diameter D8 of the suction pipe 8, to effectively maintain the pipe 8 between the platforms (this distance, which corresponds to the width of the platform, is equal to the extension of the platform in a radial direction with respect to the axis of the tube 91).
  • the width of the rib 92 (that is to say its extension in a radial direction relative to the axis of the tube 91) is markedly less than the width of one or the other of the platforms 94, 95: the rib serves as a guide for winding the pipe, but it is not this which makes it possible to secure the pipe 8 and the reel 9.
  • a clearance 96 is also made in the cylindrical tube 91 of the reel, between the two platforms 94, 95.
  • This clearance 96 forms a sort of oblong hole which extends along a part of the helical path delimited by the rib 92 (path followed by the hose when it is wound on the reel).
  • This hole extends, on the surface of the tube 91, over a length substantially equal (here equal) to that of the platforms 94, 95, a length equal here to approximately half a circumference of the tube.
  • the pipe 8 can be fixed to the reel, between these two platforms, while remaining fitted with the connector 12.
  • the particular configuration of the second fixing member which has just been described makes it possible to fix the pipe 8 to the reel even if the pipe has a length which varies slightly. In fact, when the pipe is rolled up, it extends starting from stud 93, but it can stop, along the helical path mentioned above, at different levels, depending on its exact length (provided however that the second end finally ends between the two platforms 94 and 95, once the pipe has been rolled up).
  • This configuration of the second fixing member in which the second end 82 is pressed between the platforms once the hose has been wound up on the tube 91, further allows the second end of the hose to be fixed on the reel while maintaining a slight tension in the reel. the pipe to hold it securely, all the way, against the tube 91.
  • the assembly of the pipe which makes it possible to switch from its transport (and storage) configuration to its use configuration, can be carried out as explained below.
  • the cover 7 is removed from the cap 2 and the cap is removed from the main body 1 of the pipe.
  • the reel 9 is taken out of the annular chamber L and the suction pipe 8 is unwound.
  • the handle 11, initially engaged on the dip tube 51, is withdrawn therefrom, then it is fixed to the first end 81 of the pipe.
  • the vase 3 is then filled with water (possibly unscrewing the vase for this, then screwing it back on).
  • the reel (without the pipe 8) is preferably replaced in the annular chamber L.
  • the cap 2 is then replaced on the main body 1 of the pipe to close it.
  • the second end 82 of pipe 8 is then connected to the suction opening 52, thanks to the connection 12.
  • the tobacco preparation, then the glowing charcoal, are then placed in the hearth 6.
