Abstract

The invention concerns a pot for a cosmetic product, comprising a base (2) topped by a substantially cylindrical neck defining an opening, and a lid equipped with a seal (6) having a top surface and a bottom surface. The neck of the pot has a rim (203) with an inner periphery comprising a shoulder (204) that forms a concave surface. The seal (6) comprises, on the bottom surface of same, a flexible annular lip (603) that has, on an outer peripheral wall, a convex shape which, when the lid is tightened on the base (2), matches said concave surface over at least a portion of the height of the shoulder (204) and presses sealingly against said rim (203) around the entire inner periphery of same, so as to sealingly close the pot. The flexibility of the seal (6) and the shape of the lip (603) thereof, which complements that of the rim (203), allow it to be deformed in such a way as to be able to compensate for dimensional irregularities occurring at manufacture and ensure tight sealing.

Description

Jar for cosmetic product

The present invention relates to the field of pots, in particular that of pots for cosmetic product. By cosmetic product is meant in particular all the products for the make-up of the skin and all the compositions intended for a bodily application.

The pots for a cosmetic product generally comprise a base intended to contain a cosmetic product, surmounted by a neck having an opening diameter close to that of the section of the base. The base is closed by a cover, for example screwed on the neck. In order to seal the closure, a seal is usually interposed between the lid and the base.

Various configurations are known in the state of the art to obtain a sufficient level of sealing. According to a first known configuration, fasteners may be present on the underside of the cover and on the upper face of the seal to allow the seal to fit the underside of the cover. These fasteners may be for example pads that come to screw on each other. The seal is then compressed against the neck when screwing or tightening the cover on the base. This type of solution is in particular proposed in the document FR2776625.

Another known configuration consists of a pot comprising an annular ring surrounding the opening and the neck of the base and on which is hinged the lid. A seal, having a sealing lip, can then be disposed between the ring and the cover. This type of solution is in particular proposed in the document FR2701366.

The pots for cosmetic product implementing the aforementioned solutions are most often made of plastic. For example, aesthetic, environmental or functional considerations may lead to the use of another material, such as glass for example. However, some materials such as glass and porcelain (or other ceramics) are subject, during their manufacture, to large variations in size from one room to another. Also, during the manufacture of the glass or ceramic pot, a significant dispersion regarding the diameter or the height of the neck can take place. Indeed, the variation in size can be up to three times greater for glass jars than for plastic jars.

Thus, a closure system equipped with a seal as known in the prior art can not ensure closure or opening easy to operate and a satisfactory seal for a pot glass or other material resulting dimensional dispersions of manufacture. Moreover, given this dimensional dispersion, the force to be applied to the seal (generally disposed between the lid and the base of the pot) during the first use to conform to the base of the glass pot is stronger than for a plastic pot. In addition, this force induces mechanical stresses on the tightening system or screwing higher, resulting in greater wear of the pot over time. Finally, the user is then forced to apply a greater tightening torque, as the system is degraded and the seal is released.

A solution to solve the aforementioned problems related to the dimensional dispersions of pots manufacture is therefore desirable.

The invention aims to provide a pot for cosmetic products for easy opening and closing, while ensuring a sufficient level of tightness and obtained reliably despite dimensional dispersions during the manufacture of pots. Thus, the invention relates to a pot for a cosmetic product having a base surmounted by a substantially cylindrical neck defining an opening and a lid equipped with a seal having an upper surface and a lower surface. Said neck of the pot has a rim having an inner periphery having a shoulder which forms a concave surface. Said seal has on its lower surface an annular flexible lip having on an outer peripheral wall a convex shape which comes, when the lid is tightened on the base, to marry said concave surface on to least a portion of the height of the shoulder and press tightly against said rim over its entire inner periphery so as to ensure a sealed closure of the pot.

The pot for cosmetic product thus developed ensures a good seal and a great ease of opening or closing the lid on the base of the pot. Indeed, the flexibility of the seal and the shape of its lip, complementary to that of the rim, allow it to be deformed so as to compensate for dimensional dispersions manufacturing. They also allow to have a tightening torque of a low level, which reduces the risk of degradation of the pot over time.

According to embodiments, the base of the pot may be made of glass or ceramic.

The opening may have a diameter greater than or equal to 25 millimeters.

The lid may have a clamping system on the base by clipping.

The cover may comprise a latching plate and a cover, the gripping plate having claws, at least one slide and a control pad having at least two positions, namely an open position when the pot is open and a rest position when the pot is closed, the latching plate and the hood being rotatably mounted relative to each other.

The lid can be of a type adapted to close on the base by applying a vertical pressure.

The neck may comprise on its outer periphery a notch or groove defined under a peripheral rim and in which are provided two guide ramps for guiding the closure or opening of the lid on the base.

The seal may have the general shape of a disc having an upper face attached to the underside of the lid.

The seal may in particular have the general shape of a disc having on its underside the annular flexible lip. The lip may be configured to conform to the concave shoulder of the rim over at least a portion of the height of said shoulder.

The seal may be made of elastic material. In this case, the seal may be made of polypropylene, polyethylene, elastomer or styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene (SEBS).

In such a pot, a dimension of the lip corresponding to the length of the arc formed, in section, by its outer peripheral wall, is substantially the same as the developed length of the concavity of the shoulder on the rim.

The pot may include a tank inside the base for receiving the cosmetic product.

FIG. 1 shows an exemplary embodiment of a pot 1 for a square contour cosmetic product comprising a base 2 and a lid 3. A "square contour" pot is a pot having a base having a substantially parallelepipedal shape with a square bottom , which does not exclude pots with bulging outlines or any other slight alteration of its general shape. In addition, the present description is made for a pot 1 with a square outline, but is valid mutatis mutandis for any pot whatever the general external shape of its base.

The base 2 may be made of any suitable material, but the invention is of particular interest for pots for a cosmetic product comprising a base 2 made of glass, porcelain or the like, such as certain ceramics which may pose a problem of dimensional dispersions such as previously explained.

As can be seen in FIG. 2, the base 2 comprises a container 200 and a neck 201 which surmounts the container 200.

The neck 201 of cylindrical shape defines an opening 202 which allows access to a product contained in the container 200. In the example shown here, the dimensions of the neck 201 and the opening 202 are close to the dimensions in section of the base 2. The opening 202 of the pot 1 is wide enough to allow the passage of at least one finger of a hand, that is to say that it has for example a diameter greater than or equal to 25 millimeters.

The neck 201 has on its outer periphery a notch or groove 206, and a peripheral rim 207 under which is defined the notch or groove 206. These extend around the neck 201.

The neck 201 also has a rim 203 on the inner periphery of which is formed a shoulder 204 for creating a concave surface. By means of 203 is meant the part of the neck 201 situated above the notch or groove 206. A partial view of the rim 203 of the pot 1 is shown in FIG.

According to the embodiment illustrated in FIG. 2, two guide ramps 208, diametrically opposite one another, create a projection in the notch or groove 206. They comprise a sloping portion at the end which is a landing. These guide ramps 208 serve as guides when the lid 3 is screwed onto the pot 1.

The opening or closing of the pot 1 is performed through the lid 3. When opening the pot 1, the user turns the lid 3, for example in the counterclockwise direction. The guide ramps 208 allow, thanks to their sloping portion an easy opening of the pot 1. When the pot 1 is closed, the user rotates the lid 3, for example in a clockwise direction. The bearings of the guide ramps 208 then come to block the screwing operation, indicating to the user that the closed position of the pot 1 has been reached. The opening or closing of the pot 1 is not performed by a complete screwing but only by slightly turning the cover 3. The screwing angle or unscrewing of the cover 3 can be defined by the dimensions of the guide rails 208 The guide ramps 208 cooperate with the lid 3 and serve to indicate to the user that the pot 1 is in the open or closed position.

As illustrated in FIG. 3, the lid 3 comprises a lower face 301 comprising a closure system 302 and an external part, called a cover 4. This closure system 302 may be a screw system or a clamping system of the neck 201. This clamping can be achieved by clipping, by hooking elements or any other equivalent system.

Figure 3 shows an exploded view of the pot 1 of Figure 1 having a lid 3 having a closure system 302 made by hooking elements that can be used in a pot according to the invention. The cover 3 has an internal part called a hooking plate 5 mounted to rotate relative to the cover 4.

Generally, for this type of closure system, the attachment plate 5 comprises claws 501 having at least two positions: a first open position called open position of the cover 3 and a second position called rest position when the 3. When the lid 3 is in the rest position and the pot 1 is closed, the claws 501 are engaged in the notch or the groove 206 of the neck 201 of the base 2. When the lid 3 is in the open position, the claws 501 are discarded of the neck 201 relative to the first position and are disengaged from the notch or groove 206.

According to the embodiment shown in FIG. 3, the lid 3 also comprises three slideways 502 and three pilot pads 503 configured to slide relative to the slideways 502 between said first position and said second position. The attachment plate 5 takes said first position when the pilot pads 503 are in the first position relative to the slides 502 and the catch plate 5 takes said second position when the pilot pads 503 are in the second position relative to at slides 502.

The cover 4 and the attachment plate 5 thus cooperate to allow easy opening and reliable closure of the pot 1. The cover 3, as shown in Figure 3, is described in more detail in the document FR3032335.

In order to guarantee the sealing of the pot 1, a seal 6 is interposed between the base 2 and the lid 3.

Figure 4 shows the interaction between the lip 603 and the drink 203. This interaction will be described in more detail later.

As shown in FIGS. 5a and 5b, the seal 6 is a disc which has an upper surface 601 facing the cover 3 and a lower surface 602 facing the container 200.

The upper surface 601 is fixed to the lower face 301 of the cover 3. The upper surface 601 may for example be glued to the lower surface 301 of the cover 3. However, the seal 6 may be fixed to the cover 3 by any other appropriate known means.

The lower surface 602 has a flexible lip 603 as shown in Figure 5b. The lip 603 has on its outer peripheral wall 604 a convex shape. The latter allows a tight closure of the pot 1.

Indeed, when the lid 3 is tightened on the base 2, the convex shape of the lip 603 is wedge the concave surface 205 of the shoulder 204 over at least a portion of its height and press tightly against the rim 203 on all its inner periphery. The tightening of the cover 3 on the base 2 is for example by a support bearing on the neck 201 or by the application of a pressing force in vertical pressure of the cover 3 on the base 2.

When the lid 3 is tightened on the base 2, the lip 603 slides in order to move from the rest state to the support state, thereby allowing the outer wall 604 having a convex shape to rest against the rim 203. .

FIG. 7 shows an enlarged section of the lip 603 in the rest state (shown in dotted lines) and when it is pressed against the rim 203 (shown in solid lines) when the lid 3 is closed on the base 2.

When the cover 3 is in the rest position, the seal 6 is compressed and the lip 603 is pressed against the rim 203. FIG. 7 shows the complementary shape between the lip 603 and the rim 203 when the rim is closed. pot 1. When the lid 3 is in the open position, the lip 603 is relaxed. The lip 603 adopts, by elastic return, then the configuration shown in dashed lines.

As shown in FIG. 7, the rim 203 has a height h and the lip 603 has a dimension I corresponding to the length of the arc formed, in section, by its outer peripheral wall 604. When the lid 3 is tightened on the base 2, the contact between the lip 603 and the rim 203 is obtained on at least a portion of the height h. This contact is obtained by the clamping force of the cover 3 on the base 2, combined with the tendency of the lip 603 to resume, by elasticity, the rest position shown in dashed lines in FIG. 7.

Preferably, the dimension I of the lip 603 is substantially the same as the developed length of the concavity of the shoulder 204 on the rim 203. This optimizes the sealing of the pot 1.

The seal 6 may be made of any suitable elastic material, polypropylene, polyethylene, but also of elastomer including styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene (SEBS, thermoplastic elastomer), or any other material having equivalent physical properties . The elasticity of the lip 603 of the seal 6 allows it to deform to compensate from one room to another the dimensional variations of fabrications pot 1. It also allows him to find his rest state (shown in dashed lines in Figure 7) in the absence of mechanical stress exerted on it.

Moreover, in the case of a depression of the surrounding environment with respect to the inside of the closed pot 1, for example by plane, the depression creates a force that presses the lip 603 of the seal 6 against the shoulder 204 of the drinking 203 and further guarantees the seal.

The seal 6 thus guarantees a good seal in all circumstances.

Cosmetic jars may also be subject to degradation. Indeed, the pots for cosmetic product are generally subject to frequent handling (closing and opening). Thus, it is desirable that the pot 1 does not degrade following these manipulations and that closing or opening is easy and the rest over time.

This is why the closure of the pot 1 is preferably performed by applying a vertical pressure without rotation with respect to the base 2. In addition, the shape and the material of the seal 6 and the lip 603 reduce the force required to apply for the closure of the pot 1. Indeed, there is no need to apply a large force to conform the seal 6 to the pot and in particular to the shoulder of its rim. The small force applied prevents the degradation of the pot 1, in particular the lid 3 and its closure system 302, and the seal 6.

Thus, the seal 6 can largely absorb dimensional tolerances (axial or thickness of the glass for example) while maintaining the force required to close the pot at a low level.

The seal 6 may have additional advantages if it is used with the closure system 302 comprising a hooking plate 5, as described above.

Indeed, in the case of the use of the lid 3 of the document

FR3032335 in combination with a gasket 6 and a base 2 as previously described, there is no, or very little, relative rotation between the plate hanging 5 and the neck 201. The seal 6 is not, or very little, stressed in shear, and it is possible to choose a relatively adherent material which has a high coefficient of friction, which improves the seal.

Of course, the invention is not limited to the detailed embodiment previously described. Many variants are conceivable without departing from the scope of the invention.

For example, the base 2 may have a cylindrical shape as is often the case for cosmetic jars.

The cosmetic product may be contained in a refillable cell placed inside the base 2 instead of being directly contained in the base 2 as shown in the embodiment described above.

The opening 202 of the pot 1 may also have other shapes, which has the consequence of modifying in correspondence the shape of the seal 6 shown in the embodiment described above as being a disk.

The seal 6 may for example have a generally annular shape, or more generally have an open surface.

Claims

1. Pot (1) for a cosmetic product comprising a base (2) surmounted by a substantially cylindrical collar (201) defining an opening (202) and a lid (3) equipped with a seal (6) having a top surface (601) and a lower surface (602),

characterized in that said neck (201) of the pot (1) has a rim (203) having an inner periphery having a shoulder (204) which forms a concave surface (205) and that said seal (6) has on its lower surface (602) an annular flexible lip (603) having on an outer peripheral wall (604) a convex shape which comes, when the lid (3) is clamped on the base (2), to conform to said concave surface ( 205) over at least a portion of the height of the shoulder (204) and press tightly against said rim (203) over its entire inner periphery so as to ensure a tight closure of the pot (1).

14. Pot (1) according to one of claims 1 to 13, characterized in that it comprises a tank inside the base (2) for receiving the cosmetic product.
