- Terminal for connecting an electrical conductor (2) to a connection pad (1) belonging to an electrical device, such a terminal having a cage C that is able to be fixed inside the housing of the device and having an orifice (8) of substantially parallelepipedal shape delimited by four walls, this orifice (8) being able to receive the abovementioned pad (1), one of the abovementioned walls of the cage C, called the upper wall (4), having an orifice (9) that is able to allow the passage of a screw (10), said screw having, at one of its ends situated outside the cage C, means for actuating said screw (10), and, at its opposite end, a clamping shoe (11) that is able to allow the conductor (2) to be clamped between the abovementioned pad (1) and said shoe (11) upon actuation of the screw (10) in the tightening direction driving the relative movement in translation between the screw and the cage,
characterized in that it has an intermediate stage created inside the cage C housing a nut (22) with elastic branches (25, 26) belonging to the terminal, said nut having a tapped orifice (24) through which the clamping screw (10) is intended to be mounted in a screwed manner, said elastic branches (25, 26) cooperating with forms (29 to 32) provided on the side walls (6, 7) of the cage C such that the nut (22) rotationally disengages from the screwing as soon as the correct clamping torque is reached, and engages from the start to the end of the unscrewing. - Connecting terminal according to Claim 1, characterized in that the abovementioned two elastic branches (25, 26) are able to be compressed radially upon screwing onto slopes (29c, 31c) belonging to the cage C, the torque resulting from the compression of the branches (25, 26) opposing the torque tightening the screw (10) until these branches (25, 26) escape from the slopes (29c, 31c) as soon as the required clamping torque has been reached.
- Connecting terminal according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that it has means for producing a clicking sound at the moment of the abovementioned escape of the branches (25, 26) from the slopes (29c, 31c).
- Connecting terminal according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the abovementioned nut (22) has an annular part (23) having the orifice (24) through which the abovementioned screw (10) passes and from which two elastic branches (25, 26) that extend circumferentially around this annular part (23) in respective opposite directions start.

- Connecting terminal according to Claim 5 or 6, characterized in that, in each side wall (6, 7), the two recessed forms (29, 30 and 31, 32) extend in a direction substantially perpendicular to the axis X of the cage C, the two recessed forms (29, 30) of one (6) of the side walls (6, 7) being disposed in an opposite manner to the two recessed forms (31, 32) of the other side wall (7).
- Connecting terminal according to any one of Claims 5 to 7, characterized in that each recessed form referred to as the first recessed form (29, 31) has a surface portion (29c, 31c) that forms an attachment slope situated facing the recessed form referred to as the second recessed form (30, 32) of the same wall, the passage via this attachment slope (29c, 31c) for the attachment element (27, 28) to meet the second recessed form (30, 32) causing the abovementioned disengagement of the screw (10).

- Connecting terminal according to any one of Claims 1 to 9, characterized in that the abovementioned intermediate stage is formed by way of a plate (16) mounted on and crimped to the inside of the cage C.
- Connecting terminal according to Claim 10, characterized in that this plate (16) has two lugs referred to as first lugs (17, 18) that are able to be introduced respectively into two orifices (12, 13) belonging respectively to two edges that belong respectively to the abovementioned two side walls (6,7) at the end of insertion of the plate (16) into the cage C, and two lugs referred to as second lugs (19, 20) that are able to be introduced by crimping the sheet metal of the plate (16) into two orifices (14, 15) belonging respectively to the two edges of the side walls (6, 7), these edges being opposite the previous edges.
- Electrical protection device having at least one upstream terminal and/or at least one downstream terminal according to any one of the preceding claims.
