Description

Domaine de l'inventionField of the invention

The invention relates to a method for switching the time display mode of an electronic watch with analog display, and to the associated watch.

Arrière-plan de l'inventionBackground of the invention

We know the document EP 2021880 B1 , describing a watch making it possible to temporarily display the time of another time zone and to automatically return to the initial time zone. The seconds hand is then used to point to a city associated with the time zone whose time is displayed. One drawback is that it is necessary to adjust the watch if the user wishes the time according to the other time zone to remain displayed.

We also know the documents EP 2362277 A1 and EP 2008 159 B1 , describing watches making it possible to selectively display the time in one or the other of two time zones. The time zone for which the time is displayed is indicated in a window in the case of the document EP 2362277 A1 , and by means of a dedicated needle in the case of the document EP 2008 159 B1 . One drawback is that it is not possible to display the time of both time zones simultaneously. US 3,503,203 A relates to an electronic watch with an analog display, capable of displaying the time in two zones. WO 2009/121699 A1 relates to a mechanical watch comprising two separate time displays for a first and a second time zone, and a time zone indicator comprising a location ring associated with two apertures angularly offset by 1/24 of a revolution, one of which is used in combination with winter time and the other with summer time. A first manual time-setting device enables the first and second time display to be set simultaneously. A second manual time-setting device enables the second time display and the time zone indicator to be rotated together step by step without modifying the state of the first time display.

Résumé de l'inventionSummary of the invention

The aim of the present invention is to at least partially overcome the drawbacks mentioned above.

To this end, according to a first aspect, the invention relates to a method of permutation of a time display mode of an electronic watch with analog display, comprising, following manipulation of a control member of the shows, a permutation of:
  • the position of the main time indication means of the watch, so that they change from indicating a first hour to indicating a second hour,
  • the position of the secondary time indication means of the watch, so that they pass from the indication of the second hour to the indication of the first hour
  • the position of an analog indicator of the time display mode of the watch, so that it passes from a first position characteristic of the first mode to a second position characteristic of the second mode.

According to the invention, it is possible to simultaneously display a first hour (advantageously, the time according to a first time zone) and a second hour (advantageously, the time according to a second time zone), and this as long as the means actuation is not manipulated. The first hour is displayed by the main time indication means, while the second hour is displayed by the secondary time indication means. When the actuation means is manipulated, the two hours remain simultaneously displayed, but by the time indication means which are reversed: the first hour is then displayed by the secondary time indication means, while the second hour is displayed by the main means of time indication. The analog indicator is used to indicate which time is displayed on which time indication means. If the indicator is in the characteristic position of the first mode, this means that the main time indication means display the first hour. On the contrary, if the indicator is in the position characteristic of the second mode, this means that the main time indication means display the second time. The indicator is preferably a needle, pointing in a first direction to indicate the first mode, and pointing in a second direction to indicate the second mode.

In a non-limiting embodiment, following an initial actuation of the control member carried out in a temporary interval preceding the manipulation, the method comprises placing the indicator in the first position characteristic of the first mode, from a first position working indicator.

According to this embodiment, the indicator is not dedicated to the indication of the time displayed by the main means. It only has this role following an initial actuation of the control member. Thus, before the initial actuation, it is in a first working position. The indicator is for example the seconds hand, and the first working position is the position of the seconds hand at the time of the initial actuation of the control member.

In addition, advantageously, following the permutation of the position of the analog indicator, the method comprises placing the indicator in a second working position, from the second position characteristic of the second mode.

Following the indication of the second mode by the indicator, the indicator is returned to a second working position, which advantageously corresponds to the current second if the indicator is the second hand.

In a non-limiting embodiment, the first hour and the second hour correspond to times according to two different time zones.

According to a second aspect, the invention relates to an electronic watch with analog display, allowing a permutation of a time display mode, comprising:
  • Main means of time indication
  • Secondary means of time indication
  • An indicator of a time display mode
  • A control unit configured so that a manipulation of the control unit changes:
    • ∘ the position of the main time indication means so that they change from indicating a first hour to indicating a second hour,
    • ∘ the position of the secondary time indication means so that they switch from the second hour indication to the first hour indication
    • ∘ the position of the indicator so that it passes from a first position characteristic of the first mode to a second position characteristic of the second mode.

In a non-limiting embodiment, the control member is configured so that an initial actuation of the control member, carried out in a temporary interval preceding the manipulation, places the indicator in the first position characteristic of the first mode, from a first working position of the indicator.

In a non-limiting embodiment, the control member is configured to, following the permutation of the position of the indicator, placing the indicator in a second working position, from the second position characteristic of the second mode.

In a non-limiting embodiment, the indicator is the seconds hand, temporarily assigned to the indication of the time display mode following the initial actuation of the control member.

In a non-limiting embodiment, the indicator is dedicated to indicating the time display mode.

In this case, the indicator takes only two positions: the first position indicating the first mode, or the second position indicating the second mode. The indicator has no other functions.

In addition, advantageously, the indicator is a needle.

In this case, the needle points in a first direction to indicate the first mode, and points in a second direction to indicate the second mode.

Alternatively, the indicator is a disc, a portion of which is visible under an aperture of the watch.

In this case, the disc comprises two portions, one or the other possibly being visible through the window, each portion comprising a symbol representative of one of the modes.

In a non-limiting embodiment, the main time indication means are an hour hand and a minute hand, and the secondary time indication means are a GMT hand.

Dans un mode de réalisation non limitatif, la première heure et la deuxième heure correspondent à des heures selon deux fuseaux horaires différentsIn a non-limiting embodiment, the first hour and the second hour correspond to times according to two different time zones.

In a non-limiting embodiment, the watch includes a date display configured to display the date according to the time zone, the time of which is displayed by the main time display means.

Indeed, the change of time zone can lead to the change of the date. It is therefore important that the date display be synchronized with the date of the time zone whose time is displayed by the main time display means.

In a non-limiting embodiment, the control member is a crown with at least two axial positions.

A manipulation of the control member can then be a short pressure on the crown.

Description détaillée des modes de réalisation préférésDetailed description of the preferred embodiments

The invention relates to an electronic MT watch with analog display, as shown in figure 1 . The MT watch includes:
  • Main time indication means PR, comprising an hour hand and a minute hand. These main time indication means PR initially indicate the time according to a first time zone.
  • Secondary time indication means SE, comprising a GMT (“Greenwich Mean Time”) hand. It should be noted that in watchmaking, the acronym GMT is used to designate watches which indicate on the dial, thanks to an additional hour hand, a second time zone, that is to say the exact time of a city located in another time zone, without necessarily that of Greenwich. The secondary time indication means SE initially indicate the time according to a second time zone.
  • An IN indicator of a time display mode. A first time display mode corresponds to the following situation: the main time indication means PR indicate the time according to the first time zone, and the secondary time indication means SE indicate the time according to the second time zone. Conversely, a second time display mode corresponds to the following situation: the main time indication means PR indicate the time according to the second time zone, and the secondary time indication means SE indicate the time according to the time. the first time zone. In a first embodiment represented at the figure 1 , the IN indicator not only performs the time mode indication function, but also performs another function. In this case, the indicator IN is advantageously the seconds hand, and from time to time said seconds hand is assigned to the indication of the time display mode, as will be explained below. In a second embodiment not shown, the indicator is dedicated to indicating the time display mode, and performs only this function. In this case, the indicator is for example a dedicated needle or a disc, a portion of which is visible under a window.
  • A control member AND whose manipulation causes the movement of the main time indication means PR, the secondary time indication means SE, and the indicator IN of the time display mode. The ET control member is advantageously a crown with at least two axial positions, in this case manipulating the control member is equivalent to exerting a short pressure on the crown.

The invention also relates to a method PO for permutation of the time display mode of the watch MT previously described, of which the first embodiment (the indicator IN of the time display mode is the seconds hand) is described below with reference to figures 2 and following.

As explained previously, the watch MT is initially in the first display mode: the main time indication means PR indicate the time according to the first time zone, and the secondary time indication means SE indicate the time according to the time zone. second time zone. In the example shown in figure 1 showing the initial state of the MT watch, the time according to the first time zone is 10:05, the time in the second time zone is 8:05 a.m. The IN indicator of the time display mode being the seconds hand, it initially displays the current second, it will be said that it is in a first working position.

With reference to the figure 3 , in a step E1, the control member ET undergoes an initial actuation (in the example described, this is understood to mean that the crown undergoes a first short pressure). The IN indicator then moves temporarily to a first position (here, it moves to 10 o'clock), to indicate that the MT watch is initially in the first display mode.

With reference to the figure 4 , in a step E2, if the control unit ET does not undergo any subsequent manipulation (here, a second short press) within a certain time, for example 5 seconds, then the indicator IN resumes its function of indicating the seconds and takes a second working position in which it advantageously indicates the current second.

With reference to the figure 5 , in a step E3, if on the contrary the control member ET undergoes a subsequent manipulation (here, a second short press) within the certain time limit, then permutations of:
  • the position of the main time indication means PR of the watch MT, so that they pass from the time indication according to the first time zone to the time indication according to the second time zone. In the example shown, the main time indication means PR now display 8:05 am.
  • the position of the secondary time indication means SE of the watch MT, so that they pass from the time indication according to the second time zone to the time indication according to the first time zone. In the example shown, the secondary time indication means SE now display 10:05 am.
  • the position of the indicator IN of the time display mode of the watch MT, so that it changes from the first characteristic position of the first mode to the second characteristic position of the second mode. In the example shown, the seconds hand moves to 2 o'clock.

Avantageusement, les permutations peuvent être immédiatement annulées par une nouvelle manipulation de l'organe de commande ET (ici, par une troisième pression courte sur la couronne).Advantageously, the permutations can be immediately canceled by a new manipulation of the control member ET (here, by a third short pressure on the crown).

It is noted that it is possible for the watch MT to include a date display QU and for the date associated with the main time indication means PR to change after the permutations. It is therefore important that the date display QU always follow the time zone displayed by the main time indication means PR.

With reference to the figure 6 , in a step E4 occurring within a certain time after step E3 (for example 5 seconds), the indicator IN of the display mode resumes its function of indicating the seconds and is therefore repositioned in a second working position where it indicates the current second.

In the second embodiment of the method, the indicator is dedicated to indicating the time display mode. In this case, only step E3 occurs when the control member ET is manipulated.

Of course, the present invention is not limited to the example illustrated but is susceptible of various variants and modifications which will appear to those skilled in the art.
