Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a padlock, which can also be referred to as a padlock or padlock, with a lock body and a shackle which can be transferred between a closed position and an open position and has a first shackle end and a second shackle end, with a first shackle receptacle for the in the lock body first bracket end and a second bracket receptacle are formed for the second bracket end, wherein a locking mechanism is provided which by means of a cylinder core rotatable about a cylinder axis between a locking position in which the locking mechanism fixes the bracket in the closed position, and a release position in which the locking mechanism releases the bracket for transferring it into the open position, is adjustable.
  • the shackle of a padlock is usually rigid and U-shaped with two shackle legs that form the two shackle ends, and in particular made of steel. Such a shackle can be moved between the closed position in which both shackle ends are inserted into the lock body and the open position in which one of the two shackle ends is still held in the lock body, while the other emerges from the lock body.
  • the locking mechanism is provided to lock the bracket in the closed position on the lock body, that is to say to block it from being transferred, in particular from being moved, into the open position.
  • the cylinder core which is operatively coupled to the locking mechanism, can be actuated by means of an associated key in order to move the locking mechanism from the locking position into the release position, whereby the padlock can be opened.
  • a padlock is for example from the document US 2014/0360234 A1 known.
  • padlocks mentioned at the beginning are also known, for example from the document DE 10 2015 117 253 A1 , in which the bracket is designed to be flexible, in particular as a cable or rope bracket. Because of the flexibility of their shackle, such padlocks are particularly suitable for applications in the lockout-tagout area (LOTO), ie as maintenance safeguards to fix switches and the like in a certain position. This ensures effective protection against unauthorized access or, for example, unintentional switching on during an ongoing maintenance process.
  • LOTO lockout-tagout area
  • one of the two bracket ends of the flexible bracket is released for moving out of the corresponding bracket receptacle - and thus the bracket for transferring to the open position - the other bracket end being secured against removal from its bracket receptacle, in particular firmly in its Bracket mount is fixed.
  • a padlock according to the preamble of claim 1, wherein both a rigid bracket and a flexible bracket can be used, can be found in the document US2016 / 0312497 A1 being found.
  • the invention is therefore based in particular on the object of creating an alternative padlock of the type mentioned at the beginning, which can be manufactured inexpensively and allows a manufacturer to be flexible in production and sales.
  • a padlock with the features of claim 1, and in particular that in the lock body both a first retaining pin channel for a rigid bracket and a second retaining pin channel for a flexible bracket are formed, the first retaining pin channel opening into the first bracket receptacle and the second retaining pin channel into the second bracket receiving, wherein a retaining pin is provided which is inserted into the first retaining pin channel with a rigid bracket and into the second retaining pin channel when the bracket is flexible, with the retaining pin in the open position of the bracket dips into the first retaining pin channel when the bracket is rigid and secures the first bracket end against being removed from the first bracket receptacle and when the bracket is flexible it dips into the second retaining pin channel and secures the second bracket end against being removed from the second bracket receptacle.
  • the same lock body and the same bolt mechanism can also be used for both types of padlock.
  • the padlock is to be equipped with a rigid shackle or with a flexible shackle, in addition to selecting the appropriate shackle, only one retaining pin needs to be inserted into either the first retaining pin channel or the second retaining pin channel during assembly.
  • the use of structurally identical parts enables the individual parts to be manufactured at low cost per piece.
  • one or the other type of padlock can be assembled or manufactured.
  • first and second retaining pin channels extend from a front to a rear of the lock body. It is preferred if the first retaining pin channel opens into the first bracket receptacle in a radial edge region of the first bracket receiver and / or the second retaining pin channel opens into the second bracket receiver in a radial edge area of the second bracket receiver.
  • the first and the second retaining pin channel are preferably each designed as a particularly cylindrical bore. In particular, the two retaining pin channels can each completely penetrate the lock body. In a position of use of the padlock, the bracket is arranged above the lock body.
  • a flexible bracket can be a steel cable coated in particular with a plastic.
  • the two retaining pin channels preferably have the same cross section, in particular the same diameter, since the same retaining pin can then be used for both types of padlock. So only one retaining pin has to be manufactured that fits both types of padlocks. In principle, however, it is also possible that the cross-sections of the two retaining pin channels differ from one another, so that a separate retaining pin must be manufactured for each type of padlock.
  • the second retaining pin channel is arranged above the first retaining pin channel and / or below the locking mechanism.
  • a common padlock comprises several tumblers arranged one above the other.
  • the second retaining pin channel can then be arranged above the plurality of tumblers and / or the first retaining pin channel can then be arranged next to and / or below the topmost of the plurality of tumblers.
  • the first bracket end has a longitudinal groove into which the retaining pin engages in order to secure the first bracket end displaceably in the first bracket receptacle, especially in the release position of the locking mechanism.
  • the retaining pin can then strike a blocking projection of the first bracket end that delimits the longitudinal groove. This is a suitable way of preventing the rigid shackle from becoming detached from the lock body when the rigid shackle is in the open position.
  • the second bracket end has a recess into which the retaining pin engages in order to secure the second bracket end firmly in the second bracket receptacle, in particular also in the release position of the locking mechanism. to fix.
  • This is a suitable possibility of preventing the flexible bracket or the second bracket end of the flexible bracket from becoming detached from the lock body in the open position of the flexible bracket.
  • a compression spring is received in the first bracket receptacle, which presses the first bracket end, in the case of a flexible bracket, in particular with the interposition of an extension pin, in the direction of the open position of the bracket.
  • an extension piece is received in the first bracket receptacle.
  • the extension piece transfers the compressive force of the compression spring to the first bracket end of the flexible bracket.
  • the compression spring can be kept short and compact and / or the depth of immersion of the first bracket end of the flexible bracket in the lock body or in the first bracket receptacle can be kept small.
  • the extension piece - analogously to the first bracket end of a rigid bracket - has a longitudinal groove and a further retaining pin is inserted into the first retaining pin channel, which engages in the longitudinal groove of the extension piece so that it can be moved around the extension piece and cannot be lost in the first bracket receptacle to keep.
  • the cylinder core interacts with the locking mechanism via a front-side driver device.
  • the locking mechanism comprises two opposing and each radially outwardly biased into the locking position, in which the locks in the closed position of the bracket engage in respective locking sections formed in the first and second bracket ends to fix the bracket in the closed position.
  • the two latches be briefly pushed back radially inwards to then snap into the two locking sections, so that the Bracket is secured in its closed position on the lock body.
  • the latches each have a bevel at their radially outwardly directed latch ends. This enables one-hand operation of the padlock when closing.
  • the locking sections are each designed as a groove, in particular a fully circumferential annular groove, at least partially around the longitudinal axis of the respective bracket end, the bolts each having a concave, in particular partially cylindrical, bolt end at their radially outwardly directed bolt ends.
  • the counter-shaped recess enables the bolt ends to encircle the sides and thus ultimately more deeply into the at least partially circumferential groove, so that an attempt to break open can be counteracted to a greater extent by forcibly pulling the bracket out of the two bracket receptacles.
  • the cylinder core can be received directly in a cylinder core receptacle formed in the lock body, and / or housing pins and pin springs can be received directly in housing pin bores formed in the lock body.
  • a separate cylinder housing there is no need for a separate cylinder housing. Because the functions of a cylinder housing, namely to mount the cylinder core rotatably and to accommodate the housing pins and pin springs, are implemented directly in the lock body, the padlock can be manufactured particularly inexpensively.
  • Associated core pins are also received in the aforementioned case in corresponding core pin bores formed in the cylinder core.
  • a plastic jacket can be pushed onto the lock body from the bracket side, onto which a plastic cap on the opposite side or on the bottom side is clipped in order to form an outer housing for the lock body. This allows access to the lock body, in particular to the retaining pin or pins, to be secured.
  • the padlock is offered and / or sold as a kit, it can be provided that both a rigid bracket and a flexible bracket are provided, which can be optionally mounted on the lock body, so that the user can decide for himself during assembly which type, ie whether with a rigid bracket or a flexible bracket, the padlock should be.
  • the padlock 11 shown comprises a lock body 13 and a rigid or solid, U-shaped bracket 15, in particular made of steel, for example stainless steel, and / or with a plastic coating 77, or made of plastic, which in the illustrated closed position with its first bracket end 17 and its second bracket end 19 engages in a first bracket receptacle 21 or a second bracket receptacle 23 of the lock body 13.
  • the first end of the temple 17 has a greater length than the second temple end 19.
  • the first bracket receptacle 21 has a greater depth than the second bracket receptacle 23.
  • the lock body 13 is made of aluminum.
  • a key 25 assigned to the padlock 11 is shown, with which the rigid bracket 15 can be released for moving into the open position, in which it only engages with the first bracket end 17 in the first bracket receptacle 21.
  • the key 25 is inserted into a key channel of a cylinder core 27.
  • the cylinder core 27 is essentially cylindrical in relation to a cylinder axis Z, is received directly in a cylinder core receptacle 49 formed in the lock body 13 and is part of a cylinder arrangement which, in addition to the cylinder core 27, includes eight tumblers 33.
  • the tumblers 33 each include a core pin 41, a housing pin 43 and a pin spring 45.
  • Each tumbler 33 is received in a respective tumbler receptacle, which is formed by two bores, one of which is formed directly in the lock body 13 and the other in the cylinder core 27 and which are aligned radially to the cylinder axis Z.
  • the bores in the lock body 13 are at their radially outwardly directed ends by a common tumbler cover 47 (cf. Figure 2A ) locked.
  • the cylinder arrangement is coded for a specific key 25 by a respective combination of core pins 41 of different lengths. If the key 25 inserted into the cylinder core 27 has a suitably coded toothing, the core and housing pins 41, 43 are offset against the bias of the pin springs 45 so that for all tumblers 33 the interface between the core pin 41 and the housing pin 43 with the The interface between the cylinder core 27 and the cylinder core receptacle 49 coincides. Only in this state can the cylinder core 27 be rotated about its cylinder axis Z relative to the lock body 13 and thus moved from the locking position shown into the unlocking position for releasing the bracket 15.
  • a retaining pin 35 is received in the lock body 13, which engages radially inward into a recess on the cylinder core 27, which cannot be seen in the selected view.
  • This recess is designed as a partial annular groove which extends over an angular range of effectively approximately 90 ° in the circumferential direction around the cylinder axis Z along a lateral surface 55 (cf. Figure 2A ) of the cylinder core 27 extends. The length of the extension restricts the rotational mobility of the cylinder core 27 to a corresponding angular range.
  • the engagement of the retaining pin 35 also blocks an axial displacement of the cylinder core 27 relative to the lock body 13 in the direction out of the cylinder core receptacle 49. In this way, the cylinder core 27 is held axially in the cylinder core receptacle 49 of the lock body 13.
  • the cylinder core 27 interacts with a locking mechanism 63 via an end-side driver device 61 (see also FIG Figures 2A and 2B ), which comprises two oppositely and radially outwardly biased bolts 65.
  • the latches 65 are preloaded by means of two compression springs 75 into the position shown corresponding to the locking position of the cylinder core 27, in which position they engage in respective annular locking sections 67 of the bracket 15 when the bracket 15 is fully inserted.
  • the latches 65 are bevelled in such a way (cf. the bevel 81) that the latches 65 are pushed back against their bias when the bracket 15 is inserted into the lock body 13 until they finally snap into the locking sections 67 again.
  • the bracket 15 is then positively locked in the opposite direction of movement by the bolt 65.
  • the bracket 15 can then only be released by rotating the cylinder core 27 from the illustrated locking position about the cylinder axis Z into the unlocking position, in which the driver device 61 moves the bolt 65 out of the locking sections 67 against their bias. As soon as the bracket 15 is released, it is only in Figure 2A shown Compression spring 69, which is inserted into the first bracket receptacle 21 and acts on the first bracket end 17 of the bracket 15 on the front side, is automatically moved into its open position.
  • the locking sections 67 are each designed as a completely encircling annular groove which each extends around the longitudinal axis of the respective bracket end 17, 19.
  • the bolts 65 each have a concave, partially cylindrical recess 79 at their radially outwardly directed bolt ends, which is designed in an opposite manner to the part of the respective groove 67 facing the respective bolt end (cf. Fig. 3 ).
  • a longitudinal groove 29 is formed in the first bracket end 17, into which a retaining pin 31 engages.
  • the longitudinal groove 29 is delimited by a blocking projection 37 of the first bracket end 17, which protrudes against the retaining pin 31 in the open position.
  • the rigid bracket 15, in particular the first bracket end 17, is thus on the one hand mounted displaceably in the lock body 13 and on the other hand is secured against being removed from the lock body 13.
