  • Gas receptacles typically gas cylinders or canisters, equipped with a valve block, with or without an integrated regulator, namely a single open / closed type valve or a pressure regulator valve. integrated, also called RDI, to control the flow and pressure of the gas delivered.
  • valve In order to protect this valve block, more simply called a "valve", it is common practice to arrange, at the level of the neck of the gas cylinder and around the valve block, a protective cover forming a protective shell around the valve block. Such a cowling is commonly called a “cap”.
  • a hanging system on the cap.
  • hoods with a pivoting attachment system have a specific housing into which a pivoting arm is inserted or have an exterior surface shaped to accommodate the pivoting arm when it is completely folded, that is to say in its position of storage along and in contact with the outer surface of the cowling.
  • a pivoting arm is inserted or have an exterior surface shaped to accommodate the pivoting arm when it is completely folded, that is to say in its position of storage along and in contact with the outer surface of the cowling.
  • hoods with a pivoting attachment system often have a major drawback, namely that the attachment device is not maintained in its rest position and / or in its unfolded position, that is to say active. used to attach the assembly to a bed bar or the like, except to provide a specific mechanism ensuring the blocking of the attachment device, which specific mechanism complicates the architecture of the cowling.
  • the attachment device can be a source of injury for the user because it can unfold or, conversely, fold up inadvertently and cause pinching of the hands or fingers, or other injuries.
  • the problem which arises is to provide a protective cowling or cap for a gas container, typically for a gas cylinder, comprising an improved pivoting attachment device which does not have the aforementioned drawback (s), in particular which makes it possible to maintain the attachment device in a stable position when it is unfolded or folded, and easy passage from one position to another, without causing significant complexity of the cowling and reducing the risk of injury to the user.
  • the invention also relates to a gas container equipped with a valve unit, whether it is with or without an integrated regulator, characterized in that it comprises a protective cowling according to the invention arranged around at least part of said valve block.

  • the two half-shells sandwich the tap 3 and the neck of the receptacle 10 so as to contain the tap block 3 in their space or internal volume, while the two half-shells forming the body 2 are themselves surrounded by, that is to say sandwiched between, the two wall elements 19 carrying the support uprights 5 surmounted by the carrying handle 4.
  • the attachment device 6 On the Figures 1 and 4 , the attachment device 6 is in the rest position, while on the Figures 2 , 3 and 5 , it is in the hooking position, that is to say completely unfolded. These two positions therefore constitute the extreme angular positions that the attachment device 6 can adopt when it is pivoted about the axis AA.
  • the pivot angle ⁇ between these two extreme angular positions is less than or equal to 170 ° and greater than 0 °, preferably greater than 90 °, for example an angle of the order of 150 °.
  • one (or more) stop 13 is arranged between the outer surface of the cowling 1, namely its rear face 2a, and the hooking device 6 so that the latter comes to rest against the stop 13, when the device hooking 6 is in the "rest” position, and therefore does not become embedded in an imprint or a housing of the cowling 1.
  • the stop (or) stop (s) 13 will therefore stop the angular pivoting travel of the device hooking 6 when the latter is folded up by the user to move it from its hooking position to its rest position, since the hooking device 6 will meet the stop 13, that is to say come up against it.
  • the attachment device 6 is therefore kept intentionally at a minimum distance or spacing from the outer surface of the cowling 1.
  • the stop 13 constitutes a sort of protrusion of height H, for example a height H of 1 mm to 15 mm, carried through example by the outer surface of the cowling 1 and projecting towards the outside of the cowling 1.
  • the stop 13 is located opposite the attachment device 6, that is to say opposite the attachment device 6. Said otherwise the stop (or them) 13 is sandwiched between the fastening device 6 and the cowling.

Description

The present invention relates to a protective cover for gas containers, in particular medical gas cylinders, equipped with a pivoting attachment device, making it possible to hang the cover on a bed, a stretcher, an armchair or the like, as well as 'a gas container, such as a gas cylinder, equipped with such a protective cover arranged around a valve block, with or without an integrated regulator.

Industrial and medical gases are commonly packaged in gas receptacles, typically gas cylinders or canisters, equipped with a valve block, with or without an integrated regulator, namely a single open / closed type valve or a pressure regulator valve. integrated, also called RDI, to control the flow and pressure of the gas delivered.

Un tel capotage est couramment appelé « chapeau ».In order to protect this valve block, more simply called a "valve", it is common practice to arrange, at the level of the neck of the gas cylinder and around the valve block, a protective cover forming a protective shell around the valve block. Such a cowling is commonly called a “cap”.

Furthermore, to allow the bottle / cap / valve assembly to be hung on a support, such as a hospital bed bar, a stretcher, a rod or hanging support for an emergency vehicle, for example a SAMU unit or the like, it is usual to arrange a hanging system on the cap.

Il existe des systèmes d'accrochage fixes et d'autres mobiles, en particulier translatants ou pivotants, par exemple ceux décrits par les documents EP-A-629812 , DE-A-10057469 , US-A-2004/020793 , EP-A-2586481 , et FR 3 052 848 A1 .There are fixed hooking systems and other movable ones, in particular translating or pivoting, for example those described by the documents EP-A-629812 , DE-A-10057469 , US-A-2004/020793 , EP-A-2586481 , and FR 3 052 848 A1 .

On peut citer par exemple EP-A-2918893 et WO-A-2015/132092 .Certain hoods with a pivoting attachment system have a specific housing into which a pivoting arm is inserted or have an exterior surface shaped to accommodate the pivoting arm when it is completely folded, that is to say in its position of storage along and in contact with the outer surface of the cowling. We can cite for example EP-A-2918893 and WO-A-2015/132092 .

However, hoods with a pivoting attachment system often have a major drawback, namely that the attachment device is not maintained in its rest position and / or in its unfolded position, that is to say active. used to attach the assembly to a bed bar or the like, except to provide a specific mechanism ensuring the blocking of the attachment device, which specific mechanism complicates the architecture of the cowling.

However, if the attachment device is not maintained, it can be a source of injury for the user because it can unfold or, conversely, fold up inadvertently and cause pinching of the hands or fingers, or other injuries.

From there, when we deploy the attachment device of a cowling equipping a gas cylinder, we must at the same time hold the bottle via its transport handle and hold the deployed attachment device with another hand.

In addition to being not very ergonomic, this way of operating generates, as already said, a risk for the user of pinching his fingers or hand between the attachment device and the support when it is attached.

In view of this, the problem which arises is to provide a protective cowling or cap for a gas container, typically for a gas cylinder, comprising an improved pivoting attachment device which does not have the aforementioned drawback (s), in particular which makes it possible to maintain the attachment device in a stable position when it is unfolded or folded, and easy passage from one position to another, without causing significant complexity of the cowling and reducing the risk of injury to the user.

The Figures 1 to 7 present an embodiment of a rigid protective cowling 1, commonly called a "cap", arranged around a valve block 3, itself fixed to the neck of a gas cylinder 10. The gas cylinder 10 has typically a size between 10 and 150 cm, and a capacity of 0.5 to 20 liters (in water equivalent). The protective cover 1 serves to protect the valve unit 3 against impacts, whether said valve unit 3 is of the type with integrated gas pressure regulator or RDI, or of the type without integrated pressure reducer.

The protective casing 1 comprises a casing body 2 with support uprights 5, forming a rigid protective shell around an internal volume dimensioned to receive the valve block 3. The support uprights 5 are arranged face to face and project. up, as shown in Figure 1 .

It also comprises a carrying handle 4 designed to be taken in the hand by an operator, said carrying handle 4 being formed of a rigid material and carried by two support uprights 5 mechanically connecting the body 2 of the cover to the handle. portage 4, that is to say that the support uprights 5 are secured to the carrying handle 4 so as to allow a user to easily transport the hat / valve / bottle assembly.

The carrying handle 4 is fixed at the distal ends, that is to say the free ends, of the support uprights 5, while the support uprights 5 are, for their part, fixed by or integral with the cover 1 , via their proximal end.

It should be noted that the two support uprights 5 can be formed integrally with the rest of the cowling body 2 or, according to another embodiment, constitute independent elements which are made integral with the cowling body 2. Thus, in the embodiment shown in the figures, the support posts 5 form part of two wall elements 19 fixed to the body 2 of the cowling 1, as can be seen in FIG. Figure 2 . More precisely, the two wall elements 19 cover at least part of the outer surface of the cowling body 2, that is to say they conform to its outer profile, and are secured thereto by screws 15 or the like.

The body 2 of the cowling 1 is typically made of a material of polymer and / or metal type, preferably of plastic material, such as PVC, PE, PET, PP, PMMA, PU, PA, etc. Likewise, the support uprights 5 and the two wall elements 19 carrying the support uprights 5 can be formed of a plastic material, such as the body of the cowling 1, but also of aluminum alloy or any other metallic material.

The protective cover 1 also has openings giving access to the valve unit 3 located in the internal volume of the cover body 2 1, in particular to the outlet connection 8, to the filling connection 11, to the outlet connection under pressure 12, on the rotary handwheel 7 ...

More precisely, the valve unit 3, typically of the RDI type, comprises a rotary handwheel 7, located on the front face 2a, which can be manipulated by a user to control the gas flow, a gas outlet connector 8 to withdraw the gas stored in the gas flow. bottle 10, a manometer 9 to control the gas pressure, a filling connection 11, located on the rear face 2b, used to introduce gas into the bottle 10 when the latter is empty, and a pressurized gas outlet connection 12 located laterally and used to distribute gas at operating pressure compatible with the downstream application.

The assembly of the protective cover 1 and its fixing around the valve block carried by the gas cylinder 10, is carried out by screwing by means of fixing elements, namely screws, bolts or the like.

In done, the two half-shells sandwich the tap 3 and the neck of the receptacle 10 so as to contain the tap block 3 in their space or internal volume, while the two half-shells forming the body 2 are themselves surrounded by, that is to say sandwiched between, the two wall elements 19 carrying the support uprights 5 surmounted by the carrying handle 4.

In order to allow the bottle 10 / valve unit 3 / cover 1 assembly to be attached or secured to a support, such as a hospital bed bar, stretcher or the like, the protective cover 1 comprises, on the side on its rear face 2b, a hooking device 6 pivoting about an axis AA, called “axis of rotation”, between:
  • a fully folded position, called the "rest" position, that is to say the position adopted by the attachment device 6 when it is stored and positioned in contact or quasi-contact with the cowling 1, and
  • a fully unfolded position known as the "hooking" position, that is to say the position adopted by the hooking device 6 when it is fully extended and can be hooked to a support, such as a bed bar or the like .

On the Figures 1 and 4 , the attachment device 6 is in the rest position, while on the Figures 2 , 3 and 5 , it is in the hooking position, that is to say completely unfolded. These two positions therefore constitute the extreme angular positions that the attachment device 6 can adopt when it is pivoted about the axis AA. Typically, the pivot angle α between these two extreme angular positions is less than or equal to 170 ° and greater than 0 °, preferably greater than 90 °, for example an angle of the order of 150 °.

It is possible to provide a non-zero spacing between the attachment device 6 and the cowling 1, when the attachment device 6 is in the fully folded position, that is to say “at rest”. To do this, one (or more) stop 13 is arranged between the outer surface of the cowling 1, namely its rear face 2a, and the hooking device 6 so that the latter comes to rest against the stop 13, when the device hooking 6 is in the "rest" position, and therefore does not become embedded in an imprint or a housing of the cowling 1. The stop (or) stop (s) 13 will therefore stop the angular pivoting travel of the device hooking 6 when the latter is folded up by the user to move it from its hooking position to its rest position, since the hooking device 6 will meet the stop 13, that is to say come up against it. Thus, there will always remain a minimum spacing between the attachment device 6 and the cowling 1 which will then allow the user to easily grasp the attachment device 6 and to make it pivot towards its attachment position. The attachment device 6 is therefore kept intentionally at a minimum distance or spacing from the outer surface of the cowling 1. The stop 13 constitutes a sort of protrusion of height H, for example a height H of 1 mm to 15 mm, carried through example by the outer surface of the cowling 1 and projecting towards the outside of the cowling 1. The stop 13 is located opposite the attachment device 6, that is to say opposite the attachment device 6. Said otherwise the stop (or them) 13 is sandwiched between the fastening device 6 and the cowling.

In the embodiment of the Figure 3 , a single stop 13 is arranged at the level of the base 14 of the cowling 1, namely here on a flange 18 located at the level of the base 14 of the cowling 1. However, according to another embodiment, several stops 13 can be arranged. , for example two or more stops, between the pivoting attachment device 6 and the body 2 of the cowling 1. Similarly, in the Figures, the stop 13 is provided on the cowling 1 but according to another embodiment, it is can also arrange the stop 13 on the hooking device 6 itself or, according to yet another embodiment, stops 13 can be arranged both on the hooking device 6 and on the body 2 of the cowling 1 .

Generally, as illustrated in the Figures, the fastening device 3 forms a curved three-dimensional structure coming to surround the cowling body 2, when the fastening device 6 is in the rest position.

More specifically, the curved three-dimensional structure forming the attachment device 6 comprises two arms, namely a right arm 6a and a left arm 6b, taking the cowling body 2 substantially “sandwiched”, when the attachment device 6 is in the rest position. Each of the arms 6a, 6b carries a fixing notch 16 serving to attach the assembly to a support, such as a hospital bed bar or the like. Each fixing notch 16 has an arcuate shape, for example shaped like an arc of a circle, as illustrated in Figure 2 , so as to best match the shape of a tubular bed bar, stretcher, wheelchair or other.

Le dispositif d'accrochage 6 vient alors au contact ou quasi contact de la butée 13 en recouvrant la butée 13.In the storage position, the attachment device 6 is positioned around the cowling body 2 so as to minimize the general bulk of the cowling 1, when the attachment device 3 is folded up as on the figure 2 . When the three-dimensional structure forming the fastening device 6 is folded back, it protrudes outwardly but without increasing the overall size of the cowling 1. The fastening device 6 then comes into contact or quasi contact with the stop 13 by covering the stop 13.

The hooking device 6 therefore comprises a free downstream end carrying the arms 6a, 6b, and an upstream end which is pivotally fixed (axis of rotation AA) to the cowling 1, preferably to the support posts 5 of the cowling 1. A opening can be planned in the wall of the body 2 of the cowling 1 to allow and / or facilitate the pivoting of the attachment device 6 from its rest position to that of attachment, or vice versa.

The hooking device 6 can be formed of plastic, metal or a combination of the two.

Furthermore, in an alternative embodiment, the three-dimensional structure constituting the attachment device 6 comprises a central opening 17, revealing the filling connection 11, when the attachment device 6 is in the rest position, that is to say. that is to say folded up and in contact with the stop 13. This allows the user to fill the cylinder 10 with fresh gas, without having to unfold the hooking device 6, that is to say leaving the device 'hooking 6 in its rest position.

According to the present invention, in order to ensure that the attachment device 6 is held in a stable position, when it is unfolded or folded, and easy passage from one position to another, without causing significant complexity of the cowling, two fingers D are provided, that is to say two protruding expansions, carried by said hooking device 6 cooperating with two housings L carried by the cowling 1, preferably by the support uprights 5 of the cowling 1. By example, the housings L can be arranged in the cowling body itself, in wall expansions integral with said cowling body 2, in the support posts 5, or in elements fixed to or integral with said support uprights 5 or of the cover body 2.

The L housings have a particular shape, as explained below.

As shown on Figures 4 , 5 and 7 , the pivoting, that is to say the angular indexing, of the hooking device 6 relative to the cowling 1 is ensured by two fingers D carried by the hooking device 6. These two fingers D projecting away relative to the hooking device 6 and are oriented in opposite directions relative to each other. They are arranged on an axis BB parallel to the axis of rotation AA, said axis BB, also called 'movable axis', is movable in pivoting, that is to say in rotation with respect to the axis AA is itself is fixed, ie immobile.

As detailed on the Figure 6 , the two fingers D each cooperating with one of the two housings L carried for example by the support uprights 5 of the cowling 1, or for example arranged in the body 2 of the cowling, each finger D being inserted into one of said housings L, each finger D being movable within one of said housings L.

Each housing L is configured to have at least 3 successive sections S1, S2, S3 comprising a first end section S1 and a second end section S2 connected to each other by an intermediate section S3 which forms a sort of guide passage for each finger D, when it moves in this intermediate section S3.

The first and second end sections S1, S2 have an internal profile of generally semi-circular shape, while the intermediate section S3 has a generally oblong, that is to say elongated, shape.

Each finger D is positioned in the first end section S1 of the housing L in which it is inserted, when the hooking device 6 is in the hooking position and, conversely, in the second end section S2 of this housing, when the hooking device 6 is in the rest position.

We see on the Figures 4 , 5 and 6 that the oblong intermediate section S3 comprises two internal walls P1, P2 arranged face to face which form guides for the two fingers D during their movement in the intermediate section S3, during their passage from the first to the second end section S1 , S2 of the L housings, or vice versa. The two internal walls P1, P2 arranged face to face, are curved.

In order to ensure a maintenance in a stable position, the first and the second end section S1, S2 are separated from the intermediate section S3 by wall restrictions R1, R2 projecting radially inwards from the intermediate section S3, as visible on Figures 4 and 5 . These wall restrictions R1, R2 form a kind of stops serving to create a hard point and to properly retain the fingers D, when they are positioned in the first and second end sections S1, S2, that is to say - say in the rest or hooked position.

The passage of the wall restrictions R1, R2 by the fingers D is facilitated thanks to an axial slot F provided at the free end EL of the fingers D, as illustrated in Figure 7 . Preferably, the slots F are provided in a part of the fingers D made of an elastically deformable material, for example a polymer.

This slot F separates each finger D into two half-fingers. This structure allows the fingers D to deform elastically and locally when the wall restrictions R1, R2 pass since, when the fingers D pass between the wall restrictions R1, R2, they act mechanically on the two half-fingers and the force them to come closer to one another by filling in the space between them, that is to say the slot F. The diameter of the fingers D is consequently reduced at the level of the free ends EL thus allowing the passage of the fingers D between the wall restrictions R1, R2, including if the diameter of the fingers D at the level of said free ends EL is, before deformation, slightly greater than the passage P existing between said wall restrictions R1, R2.

Cette déformation élastique des doigts évite par ailleurs une usure prématurée des restrictions de paroi R1, R2 et des doigts D.This elastic deformation of the fingers also prevents premature wear of the wall restrictions R1, R2 and of the fingers D.

However, the width L of the wall restrictions R1, R2 is preferably slightly greater than that of the cylindrical sections at the level of said free ends EL of the fingers D to allow their passage through said wall restrictions R1, R2. In this case, the F slots are not necessary.

De préférence, largeur des restrictions de paroi R1, R2 est comprise entre 0.5 et 2 mm.Preferably, the width of the wall restrictions R1, R2 is between 0.5 and 2 mm.

Preferably, the clearance between the radius Ro of the first and second end sections S1, S2 of semi-circular shape and the radius of D is between 0.1 and 1 mm.

A gas cylinder equipped with a cover according to the invention is particularly well suited to the storage and distribution of pressurized gas, in particular medical gas, in particular a gas chosen from oxygen, air, N 2 O / O 2 , He / O 2 and NO / nitrogen.

    - each finger (D) being positioned in the first end section (S1) of the housing (L) wherein it is inserted, when the hanging device (6) is in the attachment position and in the second end section (S2) of said housing, when the hanging device (6) is in the rest position.
  2. Hood according to the preceding claim, characterised in that the two housings (L) are arranged in the hood body (2) or in support mounts (5) supported by the hood (1), preferably in support mounts (5) supported by the hood (1).
  3. Hood according to claim 2, characterised in that the support mounts support a carrying handle.
  4. Hood according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the wall restrictions (R1, R2) form holding stops configured to hold each finger (D) in a stable position in the first or in the second end section (S1, S2) of the housing (L), wherein said finger (D) is inserted, when the hanging device (6) is in the attachment position or in the rest position, respectively.
  5. Hood according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that, when a user manually actuates the hanging device (6) to make it pass from the rest position to the attachment position, each finger (D) passes successively from the second end section (S2) of the housing (L) to the intermediate section (S3) and to the first end section (S1) of the housing (L), wherein said finger (D) is inserted, and vice versa.
  6. Hood according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the intermediate section (S3) comprises two internal walls (P1, P2) arranged opposite one another and forming guides for the two fingers (D) during their movement between the first and second end sections (S1, S2) of the housings (L).
  7. Hood according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the intermediate section (S3) comprises two internal walls (P1, P2) arranged opposite one another, said internal walls (P1, P2) being curved.
  8. Hood according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the two fingers (D) being projected in extension with respect to the hanging device (6) are supported by an axis (BB) parallel to the axis (AA).
  9. Hood according to claim 8, characterised in that the axis (BB) on which are arranged two fingers (D) is mobile by pivoting with respect to said axis (AA).
  10. Hood according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the two fingers (D) are at least partially cylindrical.
  11. Hood according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the wall restrictions (R1, R2) each have a passage (P) having a passage width greater than the diameter of the two fingers (D), such that the two fingers (D) can pass into said passage width.
  12. Hood according to one of claims 1 to 10, characterised in that
    - the wall restrictions (R1, R2) each have a passage (P) having a passage width less than or equal to the diameter of the two fingers (D), and
    - each finger (D) comprises a free end (EL) made of an elastically deformable material and comprising an axial slot (F) separating each finger (D) into two half-fingers,
such that each finger (D) undergoes an elastic deformation, during its passage between the wall restrictions (R1, R2), by elastic attachment of the two half-fingers towards one another.
  13. Gas container (10), in particular a gas cylinder, equipped with a tap unit (3) and a protective hood (1) arranged around at least one portion of said tap unit (3), characterised in that it comprises a protective hood (1) according to one of the preceding claims.
