Claims (14)

  1. Protective covering (1) for a gas container (10) equipped with a valve unit, comprising:
    - a covering body (2) forming a protective shell delimiting an internal volume designed to receive all or part of the valve unit (3), and
    - a coupling device (3) that pivots between a plurality of angular positions comprising a rest position, in which the coupling device (3) is entirely retracted, and a coupling position, in which the coupling device (3) is extended,
    - at least one stop (13) arranged between the coupling device (6) and the covering body (2), said coupling device (6) coming into contact with said stop (13) when it is in the rest position,
    characterized in that said coupling device is kept by said stop (13) at a distance (E) of at least around 1 mm from the external surface of the covering body (2), said at least one stop (13) being arranged at the base (14) of the covering body (2) so as to stop the travel of the coupling device in the rest position, and so as to be slightly raised from the surface of the covering body and to be able to be grasped easily by the user.
  2. Covering according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the coupling device (3) is kept at a given distance (E) of between 1.5 and 10 mm from the external surface of the covering body (2).
  3. Covering according to either of the preceding claims, characterized in that the stop (13) is arranged on the covering body (2).
  4. Covering according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the coupling device (3) has two arms (6a, 6b) that extend laterally on either side of the covering body (2), said at least one stop (13) being arranged so as to be sandwiched between the coupling device (3) at the two arms (6a, 6b) and the body (2) of the covering (1).
