Description

A).The present invention relates to a protective cover, also called cap, for gas bottles, in particular medical gas, provided with a portable handle coated with a material improving the comfort of use and a gas container, such a bottle, equipped with such a cowling. Industrial and medical gases are commonly packaged in gas containers, typically gas cylinders, equipped with a valve block, with or without a built-in regulator, ie a simple valve controlling only the flow of gas or an integrated regulator valve. , also called RDI, to control flow and pressure of the delivered gas. In order to protect this valve block, it is common to arrange at the neck of the gas bottle and around said valve block, a protective cover forming a rigid protective shell around said valve block. Such a cowling is commonly called "hat". Moreover, to allow the bottle / cap / tap assembly to be hooked to a support, such as a hospital bed bar, a stretcher, a rod or support for attaching an emergency vehicle, for example a SAMU unit or the like, it is customary to arrange on the cap, a fixed or mobile attachment system, including pivoting. In order to facilitate the transport and the handling of the bottle / valve block / cowling assembly, it is customary to provide the cowling with a carrying handle which, in general, overcomes it and allows it to be carried manually by users. . Cowlings of this type are described in particular by the documents EP-A-629812, DE-A-10057469, US-A-2004/020793 and EP-A-2586481. However, the current handles are not very comfortable and they are molded in one piece with all or part of the casing, polymer or metal, or they are attached thereafter, by welding, with screw or by any other means. In some cases, even slight injuries to some users have been observed, which have been caused by handles with too much roughness. In view of this, the problem is to improve the wearing comfort of protective covers or caps for gas cylinder avoiding the aforementioned drawbacks. The solution of the invention is a protective cowl or "cap" for protecting the valve block of a gas container, in particular a gas bottle, comprising: - a protective shell cowl body around a internal volume sized to receive and thus protected a valve block, - a carrying handle designed to be taken in hand by an operator, said carrying handle being formed of a rigid material, - one or more support posts mechanically connecting the body cowling device to the carry handle, characterized in that at least a portion of the outer surface of the carrying handle of rigid material is covered or formed of a flexible material having a Shore hardness between 0 and 100 (ie Shore A ).

Depending on the case, the protective cowling according to the invention may comprise one or more of the following technical characteristics: the core of the carrying handle made of rigid material and is covered with a so-called "soft touch" effect paint , that is soft and silky effect. - All or part of at least the underside of the carrying handle is covered with flexible material. Indeed, it is at the lower face of the handle that is exerted the mass of the cowling, as well as the entire cowling / block / bottle, when the handle is gripped by the user and all raised. - The entire outer surface or periphery of the central core of the carrying handle is covered with flexible material, that is to say soft to the touch. the flexible material preferably has a Shore hardness of at least 5. The flexible material preferably has a Shore hardness between 5 and 95. The flexible material is an elastomer, silicone or others, for example rubber. - The flexible material is overmolded on the central core of the handle. - The cowling is made of polymer material or metal or metal alloy, preferably plastic, such as PVC, PE, PET, PP, PMMA, PU, PA .... - The carrying handle and / or the one or more supports are formed of a rigid material selected from polymers and metal or metal alloys, preferably - the carrying handle is generally elongated. The invention furthermore relates to a use of a gas distribution assembly according to the invention for storing or dispensing a gas or gas mixture, in particular of oxygen, air, N 2 O 2, He / O 2 and NO / nitrogen L type. The invention will now be better understood by means of the following detailed description, given by way of illustration but without limitation, with reference to the appended figures in which: FIG. 1 represents a view of the front face of a protective casing according to FIG. and Figure 2 shows a view of the handle of the cowling of Figure 1.

Figure 1 shows an embodiment of a rigid protective cover 1, commonly called "hat", arranged around a valve block (not visible), namely a valve with or without built-in regulator, itself fixed on the neck of a gas cylinder 2, said protective cowl being provided with a carrying handle 6 according to the present invention.

The gas bottle 2 typically has a size between 10 and 150 cm, and a capacity of 0.5 to 20 liters (in water equivalent). The protective casing 1 makes it possible to protect the faucet block against shocks, whether said valve block is of the type with integrated expansion valve or RDI, or of the type without integrated expansion valve.

More specifically, the protective casing 1 comprises a casing body 8 forming a protective shell around an internal volume sized to receive the valve block, a carrying handle 6 designed to be handled by an operator. The carrying handle 6 is formed of a rigid material, such as a polymer or a metal or metal alloy, and is carried by one or more support posts 5 mechanically connecting the casing body 8 to the carrying handle 6. The handle 6 is generally arranged horizontally, that is to say perpendicularly or almost perpendicularly to the vertical axis of the bottle 2 and the cowling 1. The carrying handle 6 has an elongated shape, whether it be rectilinear or curved, typically less than 20 cm long, typically 6 to 15 cm long. The one or more support posts 5 are fixed at one or both ends 9, 10 of the carrying handle 6 so as to allow a user to easily transport the hat / tap / bottle assembly by means of said handle. 6. The body 8 of the cowling 1 is typically made of a polymer and / or metal type material, preferably made of plastic material, such as PVC, PE, PET, PP, PMMA, PU, PA. support posts 5 may be formed of a plastic material, such as the body of the cowling 1, but also of aluminum alloy or any other metallic material. They can be attached to the handle 6 by screwing or welding, for example. The protective casing 1 also has openings giving access to the valve block located in the internal volume of the body 8 of the cowling 1, in particular to the connectors 13, to the rotary wheel 12 ..., as well as to a manometer 11. Indeed, the valve block, typically a RDI-type valve, comprises, as illustrated in Figure 1, a rotary wheel 12, located on the front panel, manipulable by a user to control the flow of gas, a gas outlet connector 13 in order to withdraw the gas stored in the bottle 2, a manometer 11 for controlling the pressure of the gas, a filling connector (not visible) situated on the rear face, serving to introduce gas into the bottle 2 when the latter is empty , and a pressurized gas outlet connection 14, arranged on the side face of the cowling. The fixing around the valve block on the neck of the gas cylinder 2 is done by screwing.

In order to make it possible for the bottle / tap / cowl assembly to be hooked or secured to a support, such as a hospital bed or stretcher bar, the protective casing 1 comprises, on the side of its rear face, a pivoting attachment device 15 between a fully folded position, called "rest" (shown schematically in Figure 1), that is to say the position adopted by the attachment device 15 when stored and in contact or quasi-contact of the body 8 of the cowling 1, and a fully unfolded position called "hooking", that is to say the position adopted by the attachment device 15 when it is completely out and can be hooked to a support, such as a bed rail or the like. According to the invention, as detailed in Figure 2, to improve comfort for the user and avoid injuries during handling of the assembly, the carrying handle 6, which is designed to be handled by an operator, is formed of an internal core or central structure 3 elongated rigid material, such as plastic or a metal or metal alloy, whose outer surface 7 is covered with a flexible material having a hardness Shore A between 0 and 100 Shore hardness is conventionally measured by means of a Shore durometer, for example the Shore hardness tester PCE-HT 150 or the commercially available Shore A PCE-DX A hardness tester. The thickness of the flexible material layer 7 can be up to a few millimeters. However, higher or lower thicknesses are also usable. The thickness to be adopted can be chosen by simple empirical tests according to the soft / soft material chosen and the level of comfort of touch that it is desired to give to the user. The layer (or layers) of flexible material may be applied by molding around the central core 3 of the handle 6 or by depositing on it a so-called "soft touch" effect paint (soft and silky effect ).

In any case, a rollover 1 is obtained that is pleasant to lift and carry for a user without risk of injury and improved comfort of use.
