The invention creates a cross member with an open profile, in which the shackle mounts for connecting an attachment are advantageously integrated in one piece in the first strap and / or the second strap. The integration enables a space-saving arrangement of the shackle mounts. In addition, the shackle mounts do not have to be attached to the cross member in a complex manner. This means that there are no problems due to the need for multiple tools, contact corrosion, thermal expansion, loosening of screw connections, necessary welding work and thus no weakening of the base material. As a result of the integration in the first belt and / or the second belt, the shackle receptacles can in particular be provided separately from connection areas for bearing blocks of the cross member and attachment areas for a bumper. In this way, these connection areas and attachment areas can be designed in an optimized manner, in particular regardless of the presence of the shackle mounts.

In particular, the first shackle mount and the second shackle mount can be integrated into the lower chord.

For example, the first strap and / or the second strap can be designed in the form of a band.

The shackle receptacles extend, in particular in the shape of a bolt, starting from the first strap and / or the second strap. For example, the shackle mounts can be in a forward direction of travel of the motor vehicle, i. H. in a direction toward which a front side of the cross member is directed. In particular, the shackle receptacles can each have a through opening for receiving bolts at their free ends. The through openings can expediently be aligned with one another and / or parallel to a longitudinal axis of the cross member.

It is possible for the first shackle mount and the second shackle mount to be mirror-symmetrical to one another (for example with respect to a plane of symmetry which divides the cross member centrally and is arranged perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the cross member). In particular, the cross member can be provided in a belt construction and / or with an open profile.

It is also possible that the first belt and / or the second belt is a central belt of the cross member.

In one embodiment, the first strap and / or the second strap expands at the integration area of the first shackle mount and at the integration area of the second shackle mount, in particular on the top and bottom. This means that there is a reinforcement in the area of integration.

In a further exemplary embodiment, the first shackle holder and the second shackle holder are integrated in one piece at opposite longitudinal ends of the first strap and / or of the second strap.

In a further exemplary embodiment, the first belt and the second belt are connected at their first longitudinal ends by a first outer web area and at their opposite second longitudinal ends by a second outer web area. The first outer web area is arranged on the outside of and in particular directly adjoining the first shackle receptacle. As an alternative or in addition, the second outer web area is arranged on the outside of and in particular directly adjoining the second shackle receptacle. In this way, loads on the shackle mounts can be advantageously directed into the outer web areas.

As used herein, the terms “external” and “internal” can in particular relate to a relative positioning of elements and regions along a longitudinal axis of the cross member with respect to its central part. That is, if element A is on the outside of element B, element A can be arranged in a direction along the longitudinal axis of the crossbeam further away from the central part / center of the crossbeam than element B. In other words, element B can be on the inside of element A. be.

In one embodiment, the cross member also has a first bumper attachment area and optionally a second bumper attachment area for, in particular, direct, attachment of a bumper to the cross member. This means that it is not necessary to complexly connect the bumper to the cross member, for example using an adapter.

The first bumper attachment area and the second bumper attachment area can expediently be designed mirror-symmetrically to one another (e.g. with respect to a plane of symmetry which divides the cross member centrally and is arranged perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the cross member).

In a further embodiment, the cross member also has a first connecting area for connecting the cross member to a first bearing block for connecting to a first longitudinal member and optionally a second connecting region for connecting the cross member to a second bearing block for connecting to a second longitudinal member. This allows the cross member to be attached to the bearing blocks, which in turn can be attached to the side members. The bearing blocks can be used multifunctionally as combination bearing blocks, for example to connect additional components. In addition, the interposition of the combination bearing blocks makes it possible to create as wide a space as possible for arranging a cooler, for example, behind the cross member and between the bearing blocks.

The first connection area and the second connection area can expediently be designed mirror-symmetrically to one another (for example with respect to a plane of symmetry which divides the crossbeam centrally and is arranged perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the crossbeam).

In a further embodiment, the first shackle mount and the second shackle mount are formed separately from the first bumper attachment area, the second bumper attachment area, the first connection area and / or the second connection area. This enables the connection areas and attachment areas to be designed in an optimized manner, in particular regardless of the presence of the shackle receptacles.

In one embodiment variant, the first bumper attachment area is arranged on the outside of the first outer web area and / or the first connection area. Alternatively or additionally, the second bumper attachment area is arranged on the outside of the second outer web area and / or the second connection area. In this way, the bumper can be held at the longitudinal ends of the cross member, while the cross member is supported on the bearing blocks at the longitudinal ends of the first belt and the second belt.

In a further embodiment variant, the first connection area is arranged on the inside of the first bumper attachment area and / or at least partially integrated into the first outer web area. As an alternative or in addition, the second connection area is arranged on the inside of the second bumper attachment area and / or at least partially integrated into the second outer web area. The integration of the connecting areas in the outer web areas enables an optimized flow of forces when supporting the crossbeam on the bearing blocks.

In one embodiment, the first connection area and / or the second connection area has at least one first support surface for supporting on the respective bearing block and at least one second support surface for supporting on the respective bearing block. The at least one first support surface and the at least one second support surface are angled to one another, in particular at an acute angle, right-angled or obtuse-angled. The angled alignment of the support surfaces with respect to one another enables the loads on the cross member to be introduced into the bearing blocks in several directions, for example along a longitudinal direction of the cross member and perpendicular thereto.

In a further exemplary embodiment, the first bumper attachment area and / or the second bumper attachment area has an inner attachment section and an outer attachment section, the outer attachment section being set back with respect to the inner attachment section (in particular with respect to a front side of the cross member). In this way, the shape of the cross member is adapted at its longitudinal ends to an aerodynamically (convex) curved bumper.

In a further exemplary embodiment, the cross member also has a first through opening, in particular a cooling air opening, which is arranged between the first belt and the second belt (and, for example, adjoins the first shackle receptacle). Optionally, the cross member has a second through opening, in particular a cooling air opening, which is arranged between the first belt and the second belt (and, for example, adjoins the second shackle receptacle). In this way, cooling air can be supplied to a cooler arranged behind the cross member.

In a further development, the first through opening and / or the second through opening is essentially teardrop-shaped, in particular with a drop tip directed towards the center of the cross member. The through opening can thus be dimensioned as large as possible and at the same time adapted to an optimal flow of force in the cross member.

In one embodiment, a support area for supporting a bumper is arranged on an upper side of the first belt. In this way, the bumper can be supported on the cross member in a vertical direction, particularly when there is a load. The The bumpers always rest against the crossmember or only touch the crossmember when there is a load in the vertical direction.

In a further embodiment, an upper side of the first belt, in particular concave, is curved and / or an underside of the second belt, in particular concave, is curved.

In a further embodiment, a front side of the first belt and / or a front side of the second belt is curved, in particular convex. The cross member can thus be adapted to an aerodynamically convex curved bumper.

In one embodiment variant, a rear side of the first belt and / or a rear side of the second belt is wave-shaped, in particular double-S-shaped. Alternatively or additionally, a rear side of the first belt and / or a rear side of the second belt has at least one (for example two), in particular concave, recess. In the recesses, areas of a component arranged behind the cross member, e.g. B. a cooler, at least partially, so that a space-saving arrangement results.

In a further embodiment variant, the cross member is designed in one piece.

In one embodiment, the cross member is cast, forged or manufactured by means of additive manufacturing, in particular by means of laser sintering.

In particular, the shackle receptacles can be connected to the first strap and / or the second strap without using a joining process (e.g. welding).

In a further exemplary embodiment, the cross member also has at least one web area (for example inner web area, outer web area, etc.) which connects the first strap and the second strap to one another.

In particular, a cooler can be arranged directly on a rear side of the cross member.

The invention is also directed to a device (e.g. front assembly of a motor vehicle). The device includes a cross member as disclosed herein. The device also has a bumper which is attached, in particular directly, to the cross member.

In a further development, the bumper has a support area, in particular provided with stiffening ribs, which is spaced apart (for example up to 0.5 cm or up to 1 cm) from one Support area of an upper side of the cross member is arranged and which is supported on the support area, in particular over a large area, in the event of a load acting on the bumper in the vertical direction.

The support area and the support area can expediently be adapted to one another, in particular with regard to the shape, in order, for example, to ensure flat support.

In particular, at least one fastening device can be provided on an underside of the second belt, e.g. B. to carry an adapter that carries, for example, a range radar.

The invention is also directed to an apparatus (e.g., frame assembly of a motor vehicle). The device includes a cross member as disclosed herein. The device has a first longitudinal beam and a second longitudinal beam. The device has a first bearing block which is attached, in particular on the outside, to the first longitudinal beam and, in particular on the front side and / or on the inside, carries the cross beam. The device has a second bearing block which is attached, in particular on the outside, to the second longitudinal beam and, in particular on the front side and / or on the inside, carries the cross beam. By using bearing blocks, particularly wide components can be positioned behind the cross member, e.g. B. a particularly wide radiator. This also enables space-saving arrangements.

The invention is also directed to a motor vehicle, in particular a utility vehicle (e.g. an omnibus or truck). The motor vehicle has a cross member as disclosed herein or a device as disclosed herein.

Figuren verwiesen wird, um Wiederholungen zu vermeiden. The embodiments shown in the figures match at least in part, so that similar or identical parts are provided with the same reference symbols and reference is made to the description of the other embodiments or figures for their explanation in order to avoid repetition.

The Figures 1 and 2 show a cross member 10. The cross member 10 can be used, for example, as a front cross member of a motor vehicle, in particular a utility vehicle. The utility vehicle can be, for example, a truck or a bus.

The cross member 10 is formed in one piece and integrally. In particular, the cross member 10 can be a cast component. However, it is also possible, for example, for the cross member 10 to be a forged component or to be produced by means of additive manufacturing, for example by laser sintering. As shown, the cross member 10 can be symmetrical with respect to a plane of symmetry which divides the cross member 10 centrally and is arranged perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the cross member 10.

The cross member 10 is designed as an open profile. The cross member 10 has an upper chord 12, a lower chord 14 and a plurality of web areas 16, 18, 20 and 22.

The upper chord 12 and the lower chord 14 are connected to one another via the plurality of web areas 16, 18, 20 and 22. At the respective longitudinal ends, the upper chord 12 and the lower chord 14 are connected to one another by means of the first outer web region 16 and by means of the second outer web region 18. The first outer web area 16 and the second outer web area 18 are arranged at opposite longitudinal ends of the upper chord 12 and the lower chord 14. Two inner web regions 20, 22 are provided on the inside of the outer web regions 16, 18. The web areas 16, 18, 20 and 22 run essentially in a vertical direction. The web areas 16, 18, 20 and 22 each merge into the upper chord 12 and the lower chord 14 in a rounded manner. The upper chord 12, the lower chord 14 and the web areas 16, 18, 20 and 22 can be used as solid profiles, i.e. H. not hollow, or with a honeycomb structure (z. B. when using an additive manufacturing process). An upper side of the upper belt 12 can be curved in a concave manner. An underside of the lower chord 14 can be curved in a concave manner.

The cross member 10 has a first shackle mount 24 and a second shackle mount 26.

The shackle receptacles 24 and 26 extend from a front side (a side facing in the forward direction of travel of the motor vehicle) of the cross member 10. The shackle receptacles 24 and 26 do not protrude on a rear side (a side facing the forward direction of travel of the motor vehicle) of the cross member 10. The shackle mountings 24 and 26 are bolt-shaped. The shackle mountings 24 and 26 are integrated in one piece in the lower chord 14. The first shackle receptacle 24 is integrated into the lower chord 14 adjacent to the first outer web area 16. The second shackle receptacle 26 is integrated into the lower chord 14 adjacent to the second outer web area 18. The shackle mountings 24, 26 are arranged at opposite longitudinal ends of the lower chord 14.

In the area of the shackle mountings 24 and 26, the lower chord 14 is widened or thickened locally towards an upper side and an underside of the lower chord 14. At the free ends, the shackle mountings 24 and 26 have through openings (e.g. (bolt) eyes) in which attachments can be fastened by means of bolts. The through openings of the shackle mounts 24, 26 can be aligned with one another. The through openings of the shackle receptacles 24, 26 can extend essentially parallel to a longitudinal axis of the cross member 10.

With reference to the Figure 3 it is shown that, for example, a device carrier 28 for the attachment of further devices, for example a snow plow, can be attached by means of bolts 30 in the through openings of the shackle receptacles 24 and 26. It is also possible to attach other add-on parts, such as a mounting plate via bolts or shackles via the corresponding shackle bolts, in the through openings of the shackle receptacles 24 and 26.

Referring again to the Figures 1 and 2 it is shown that the cross member 10 can also have a pulling mouth (catching mouth) 32. The pulling mouth 32 is formed integrally in one piece between the inner web regions 20, 22 in the cross member 10. For example, a trailer drawbar or a rope can be detachably attached in the hitch 32 by means of a locking pin (not shown) fastened in the hitch 32.

Further fastening devices 34 are provided on an underside (a side facing in the direction of the floor) of the lower chord 14. In the fastening devices 34 designed as projections with integrated receptacles (for example bolt receptacles) (not shown), for example, fastening bolts (not shown) can be attached. An adapter (not shown), for example, which can carry a distance radar, for example, can be attached to the fastening bolt. The fastening devices 34 are each arranged between an outer web region 16 or 18 and an inner web region 20 or 22.

The cross member 10 has a first cooling air opening 36 and a second cooling air opening 38. In the installed state, a radiator of the motor vehicle can be arranged behind the cross member 10 in relation to a forward direction of travel of the motor vehicle. Cooling air can be supplied to the cooler by means of the cooling air openings 36, 38. The first cooling air opening 36 is formed between the first outer web area 16, the lower chord 14, the first inner web area 20 and the upper chord 12. The second cooling air opening 38 is formed between the second outer web area 18, the upper chord 12, the second inner web area 22 and the lower chord 14. The first shackle receptacle 24 is arranged below the first cooling air opening 36. The second shackle receptacle 26 is arranged below the second cooling air opening 38. in the In the area of the shackle receptacles 24, 26, the cooling air openings 36, 38 can be indented inward. The cooling air openings 36, 38 have an approximate teardrop shape, a drop tip in each case being directed in a direction towards a central region (for example the pulling mouth 32) of the cross member 10.

The cross member 10 has a first connection area 40 and a second connection area 42. The connecting areas 40, 42 are arranged on the outside of the longitudinal ends of the upper chord 12 and the lower chord 14. By means of the connecting areas 40, 42, the cross member 10 can be detachably attached to combination blocks, for example by means of screws.

The Figure 9 shows, by way of example, the second connection area 42 in detail. The second connection area 42 has a plurality of through openings for screws. The connection area 42 has a first section 42A and a second section 42B. The first section 42A is arranged on the outside of the second outer web region 42. The second section 42B is integrated into the second outer web area 18. In the embodiment shown, the first section 42A has four through openings for screws. The second section 42B has two through holes for screws. It is also possible to provide more or fewer passage openings in each case. The sections 42A, 42B each have support surfaces for resting on a bearing block. The support surfaces each surround the outlets of the through openings. The support surfaces of the sections 42A, 42B are angled, in particular at right angles, aligned with one another. The connecting areas 40, 42 can be designed mirror-symmetrically to one another. The angled support surfaces enable an optimized introduction of force into the bearing block.

The Figures 4 and 5 show how the connection areas 40, 42 enable the cross member 10 to be attached to bearing blocks 44, 46. The bearing blocks 44, 46 are in turn attached to longitudinal beams 48, 50. The bearing blocks 44, 46 are designed as combination blocks. The bearing blocks 44, 46 can carry further vehicle components, for example a crash console, a steering gear, a connection to the chassis, a connection to the front underrun protection, etc. By using the bearing blocks 44, 46 a particularly large space behind the cross member 10 can be used for the arrangement of components , for example a cooler 52 (only schematically in Figure 5 shown), especially compared to a solution in which a cross member is attached directly to the side members.

In the Figure 5 it can also be seen that a front side 54 of the upper belt 12 facing in the forward direction of travel of the motor vehicle is convexly curved. This enables an improved attachment of a likewise curved front bumper to the cross member 10. The arcuate curvature can be provided, for example, due to improved aerodynamics.

In addition, the Figure 5 It can be seen that a rear side 56 of the upper belt 12 facing opposite to the forward direction of travel of the motor vehicle is curved in a wave-like, in particular double-S-shape. The rear side 56 thus has two concave recesses 56A and 56B. The recesses 56A and 56B can be used, for example, to position the cooler 52 even closer to the cross member 10. For example, a so-called cooler cartridge of the cooler 52 can be arranged in the region of at least one of the recesses 56A, 56B.

It is also possible, as an alternative or in addition, that the lower chord 14 is convexly curved on its front side and / or embodied in a wave-shaped manner on its rear side.

Referring again to the Figures 1 and 2 the cross member 10 is shown having bumper attachment regions 58,60. The first bumper attachment area 58 is arranged on the outside of the first connection area 40. The second bumper attachment area 60 is arranged on the outside of the second connection area 42. The bumper attachment areas 58, 60 each form the longitudinal ends of the cross member 10. By means of the bumper attachment areas 58, 60, a bumper of the motor vehicle can be mounted directly on the cross member 10 without, for example, adapters having to be provided between them.

The Figures 6 to 9 show the cross member 10 with the bumper 62 attached to the bumper attachment areas 58, 60. The bumper 62 is designed as a front bumper. The bumper attachment areas 58 and 60 each have two attachment sections 58A, 58B and 60A, 60B with through openings for screws. The attachment portions 58A and 58B are arranged offset from each other in a forward traveling direction of the motor vehicle. This also applies to the attachment portions 60A and 60B. In particular, the outer attachment portions 58B and 60B are set back from the inner attachment portions 58A and 60A (see in particular Figure 5 ). This can help to design the front bumper to be particularly aerodynamically curved and still ensure that it can be easily installed.

The Figure 10 shows a cross section through the cross member 10 and the bumper 62. As shown, the bumper 62 has a support area 64. The support area 64 is arranged at a distance from a support area 66 of the upper chord 12. The support area 64 is arranged on a surface of the bumper 62 facing the floor. The support area 66 is provided on an upper side of the upper belt 12. A gap between the support area 64 and the support area 66 can for example be between 0.1 mm and 10 mm, in particular smaller than 5 mm, for example between 3 mm and 4 mm. The contours of the support area 66 and the support area 64 facing one another are adapted to one another. If the bumper 62 is loaded in a vertical direction, for example because a person is supported on the bumper 62 or stands on the bumper 62, the gap between the support area 64 and the support area 66 is overcome. The bumper 62 moves downward in a vertical direction, so that the support area 64 rests against the support area 66. The vertical load on the bumper 62 can thus be supported by the cross member 10. The support area 64 may have reinforcing ribs 68, as shown.

The invention is not restricted to the preferred exemplary embodiments described above and is defined by the claims.
