Dazu ist insbesondere vorgesehen, dass die Aussparung einen Kantenstreifeneingangsabschnitt umfasst, der eine erste Haupterstreckungsrichtung quer zur Zuführrichtung des Kantenstreifens aufweist. Weiter weist die schachtartige Aussparung einen Kantenstreifenausgangsabschnitt auf, der eine zweite Haupterstreckungsrichtung quer zur Zuführrichtung des Kantenstreifens und in einem Winkel zur ersten Haupterstreckungsrichtung aufweist. Dieser Winkel kann insbesondere ein rechter Winkel sein. Die schachtartige Aussparung weist zudem einen schachtartigen Zwischenabschnitt auf, welcher den Kantenstreifeneingangsabschnitt und den Kantenstreifenausgangsabschnitt miteinander verbindet und zum Durchschieben eines Kantenstreifens ausgelegt ist. Der Kantenstreifen 10 wird zwischen zwei Bandförderern 4 gefördert, wobei der Kantenstreifen 10 aus dem Magazin 3 zunächst hochkant (d.h. mit der Längsschmalseite nach oben zeigend) herausgeführt wird. Mittels einer Umlenkeinrichtung 51, die im gezeigten Beispiel aus einer Mehrzahl hintereinander angeordneter Rollenpaare gebildet ist, welche jeweils paarweise zueinander verschieden orientierte Drehachsen aufweisen, wird der Kantenstreifen 10 aus der hochkant verlaufenden Orientierung in eine flach liegende Orientierung überführt und von dem Bandförderer 4 aufgenommen. Dieser Bandförderer 4 transportiert den Kantenstreifen dann in die untere Ebene, wobei ausgangs des Bandförderers 4 wiederum eine weitere Umlenkeinrichtung 52 vorgesehen ist, welche den Kantenstreifen 10 aus der flach liegenden Orientierung wieder in die hochkant verlaufende Orientierung dreht. Für das Zuführen zur Andruckzone 7 wird der Kantenstreifen 10 dann von einer weiteren Zuführeinrichtung 6 aufgenommen, welche im gezeigten Beispiel wieder als Bandförderer ausgebildet ist, allerdings auch eine andere Zuführeinrichtung (zum Beispiel angetriebene Rollen oder dergleichen) sein kann. Ein Beispiel ist in Figur 2 dargestellt: Im Gegensatz zur Verwendung einer Rollenanordnung sind dort eine Mehrzahl Umlenkeinrichtungen 41, 42, 43, 44 vorgesehen, bei denen es sich jeweils um eine angetriebene Förderstrecke handelt. Diese ist im gezeigten Beispiel in Form von doppelten Bandförderern ausgebildet, sodass ein Kantenstreifen 10 zwischen den aufeinander zu weisenden Trumen eines doppelten Bandförderers transportiert werden kann. Jede dieser Umlenkeinrichtungen 41, 42, 43, 44 ist um eine Achse parallel zur Transportrichtung des Kantenstreifens 10 drehbar ausgebildet. Über eine Maschinensteuerung (nicht gezeigt) kann ein einlaufender Kantenstreifen, der sich in einem Streckenabschnitt 41, 42, 43, 44 befindet, durch Drehen dieses Streckenabschnitts aus einer flach liegenden Lage in eine hochkant orientierte Lage verbracht werden oder umgekehrt. Zwischen diesen beiden Abschnitten 54, 55 weist der Schacht eine schraubenförmige Verlaufsform auf, angedeutet durch den Abschnitt 53. Ein einlaufender Kantenstreifen wird also durch die Zwangsführung im Abschnitt 53 im gezeigten Beispiel aus der horizontalen Orientierung in eine hochkant verlaufende Orientierung überführt.
