Definitions
- doors namely garden doors or doors in barriers, fences and hedges are simple constructions. They are designed as single-leaf doors, so they only have a single door leaf, which is hinged on one side and can be swung open on both sides.
- Such doors are built into wire mesh fences, for example. These wire mesh fences have vertical tubular steel posts that are offset at intervals, and the areas between the tubular steel posts are braced with a wire mesh.
- High quality versions are made with galvanized tubular steel posts, the upper end of which is closed by a chrome steel or aluminum cap with a frustoconical shape. A more or less coarse rectangular-meshed wire mesh or a so-called diagonal wire mesh is braced between the individual posts as the wire mesh.
- two posts are set with a little more distance than the width of the door to be used.
- Hinges are provided on one pillar, into which a door made of a square or rectangular frame is inserted.
- These frames are usually made of the same pipe material as the tubular steel posts, and they are either curved by a right angle for each of the four corners or screwed together with fittings in the form of bends from straight pipe sections or welded together from pipe parts.
- the area within the frame is braced with a wire mesh in the same way as the fence.
- FR 2 380 406 It is a double-sided effective door closer, which, however, is not suitable for a garden door due to its construction. The construction is not housed in a closed housing and has many sharp corners and edges that pose a risk of injury.
- this door closer is designed to be visible as an open mechanism, and several individual parts are visible on it, including a spiral spring, which is probably covered by an angle iron, but is otherwise openly exposed to the weather. Since there is only a single spring, the closing force is rather modest in view of the associated dimensions. In addition, it is not possible to steplessly preload the spring.
- GB 395 135 A (BROOKES & ADAMS LTD; ARNOLD EDWIN discloses (page 2, line 94 - page 3, line 85; Figures 1-4) a door closer for use in or on a vertical door post or to be placed firmly on such, including a bolt 13, which is mounted at each of its two ends in a disk 12, the two disks 12 being firmly connected to one another via a radially spaced bridge 10 running parallel to the bolt 13.
- the bolt 13 carries a rotary disk 23 in its longitudinal center, which radial to extends to the inside of the bridge 10, with a steel spring 9, 10 each being guided around the bolt 1 with several turns above and below the turntable 5.
- the door closer after PCT / EP2017 / 068466 is only effective in one direction and its structure and mode of operation are significantly different from what is disclosed here.
- the door closer after US 2 102 321 A (KEENE WILLIAM J ) has only one spring and this is not not not not arranged between the disks (12, 16).
- the person skilled in the art does not find any suggestion therein for a door closer as constructed in the present case, nor does the door closer according to this US 139 458 A (DAVID DICK) June 3, 1873 (1873-06-03) gives information on this.
- the object of the present invention is to create a compact and solid door closer for a garden door, for a pasture fence and similar applications, which is effective in both closing directions, which is maintenance-free and which is easy to use for new designs of doors as well as retrospectively can be integrated into a door post so that its drive remains invisible. It should also be easy to grow.
- a double-sided effective door closer for use in or on a vertical door post or for fixed placement on one, which is characterized by the features of claim 1.
- This door closer is firstly two-sided effect, second is the bolt is rotatably mounted in two slices, wherein it protrudes from the upper disc, is connected to transmit torque to a drive rod, thirdly, a hub fixedly connected to the pin, and passes through in the peripheral area a driving bar this turntable vertically, so that the driving bar within the bridge or the studs can be swiveled past this or these in both directions of rotation of the bolt.
- the two steel springs are installed in such a way that the bolt can only be deflected from a central, neutral rotational position in each direction of rotation under the action of the spring force of the steel springs.
- This door closer is therefore effective in both closing directions and it can be easily integrated into a door post afterwards.
- FIG. 1 a first variant of the door closer is shown open, so that a view of the inside of the door closer is released and its structural design can be seen.
- this door closer or door driver works on both sides. A door can therefore be swung open towards the outside or inside and in both cases it is reliably swiveled back into its closed position.
- this door closer consists of a central, vertically arranged bolt 1, which is rotatably mounted at both ends in a disk 2, 3, whereby it penetrates the upper disk 2 and protrudes from it at the top. From there, the torque it applies can be transferred to a driver rod.
- the two disks 2, 3 are connected to one another via a bridge 4 which runs parallel to the bolt 1 and is radially spaced apart from it. It is a hollow steel segment that is permanently installed between the two disks 2, 3 in the manner shown.
- the rotatably mounted bolt 1 carries in its longitudinal center a turntable 5 firmly connected to it, which extends as far as the inside 6 of the bridge 4, which is visible here.
- a driving beam 8 in the form of a flat steel, which runs perpendicular or axially to it, so that the driving beam 8 within the bridge 4 in both of these Directions of rotation of the bolt 1 can be pivoted past.
- a steel spring 9, 10 is seated above and below the turntable 5 and is guided around the bolt 1 with several turns.
- One free end 11a of each of these two steel springs 9, 10 rests on one side 12 of the bridge 4 and on one side 13 of the driver bar 8, and the other free end 11b of the spring is on the opposite, other longitudinal side of the bridge 4 and the driver bar 8 to what is in the Figure 1 however, is not directly visible.
- These opposite ends 11b of the springs 9, 10 at these points on the rear side in the figure are indicated with dashed lines.
- the bolt 1 can only pivot out against spring force on both sides and is tensioned in both cases by the ends 11a or 11b of the steel springs 9, 10 with every deflection therefore driven back to its neutral center position.
- the bolt 1 protruding from the top of one disk 2 forms with its end 14 part of a universal joint 15, while a second part 16 of this universal joint 15 forms a bushing 17 with an internal thread 18 for screwing in a driver rod on the side facing away from the joint 15.
- the second part 16 of the universal joint 15 on the side facing away from the joint 15 can form a rod with an external thread at the end, onto which a driver rod with a threaded sleeve at the end can be screwed.
- a plug connection can also be used, for example with a bayonet lock.
- a pin with a transverse bore can be placed on the end 14 of the protruding bolt 1 and secured with a dowel pin.
- a rod can then be inserted into the transverse bore and clamped with an axial screw. In this way, in addition to the door closer for garden gates, you also get a door closer for closing rods in pasture fence openings.
- the end disks 2, 3 are preferably circular disks which fit into a pipe section 19, which is shown cut open in half here.
- the pipe section 19 is equipped at each end with a further cover disk 20, 21, the circumference of which protrudes completely or partially beyond the pipe section 19, including the two circular disks 2, 3.
- the cover disk 20 is firmly connected to the end disk 2 so that that cannot rotate with respect to the bridge 4 and the disks 2, 3 at the end.
- the two cover disks 20, 21 and the intermediate pipe section 19 made of steel or Plastic, the drive of the door closer is completely and securely enclosed, unless the pipe section 19 is formed by a section of a transparent Plexiglas pipe.
- the pipe section 19 is also tensioned and secured to the cover disks 29 with radial screws 29.
- the Figure 2 shows the door closer shown schematically, installed in a door post, with its driver rod 27 and the door frame 28.
- the door closer is inserted from above into the steel tube 25 of a door post.
- a sleeve 22 is first placed over the upper end of the steel pipe 25.
- the door closer is inserted through the sleeve into the steel tube 25 and then rests with the protruding edge of its upper disc 20 on the sleeve 22 so that the disc 20 and sleeve 22 are flush on the outside.
- the sleeve 22 is braced on the steel pipe 25 by means of a plurality of grub screws 26 which penetrate it radially and is then installed so that it cannot rotate relative to the steel pipe 25.
- the disk 20 can also be clamped on the sleeve 22 in a manner secure against rotation by means of a plurality of grub screws 29.
- the section 14 of the bolt 1 protruding from the disk 20 can then be connected in a rotationally fixed and articulated manner via the universal joint 15 to the driver rod 27, which can be connected at the other end to a door frame 28 to be driven or closed. With this connection, the end section of the driver rod 27 can slide back and forth in the mount 30 in the axial direction.
- the mount 30 is mounted in the holder 32 such that it can pivot about the axis 31.
- the holder 32 is in turn mounted pivotably about the shaft 33 of a pipe clamp 34.
- FIG 3 This door closer is shown obliquely from above, ready for installation in the upper section of a door post. It is located in a pipe section 19. This can be a stainless steel pipe section or a pipe section made of Plexiglas to reveal the internal mechanics.
- FIG 4 a further developed door closer is shown open so that a view into the interior of the door closer is released and its structural design can be seen.
- This door closer or door driver also acts on both sides.
- this door closer consists in turn of a central, vertically arranged bolt 1, which is rotatably mounted at each of its two ends in a disk 2, 3, whereby it penetrates the upper disk 2 and protrudes from it. From there the torque applied by it can be transferred to a driver rod.
- the two disks 2, 3 are connected to one another via stud bolts 4a, 4b and 4c which run parallel to the bolt 1 and are radially spaced apart from it. These are steel pins that each have a thread at the ends.
- the rotatably mounted bolt 1 carries in its longitudinal center a rotating body 5 which is firmly connected to it and which extends as far as the inside 6 of the studs 4a, 4b which is visible here.
- a driving bar 8 in the form of a flat steel, which runs perpendicular or axially to it, so that the driving bar 8 can be pivoted past the two studs 4a, 4b in both directions of rotation of the bolt 1.
- a steel spring 9, 10 is seated above and below the turntable 5 and is guided around the bolt 1 with several turns.
- One free end 11a of each of these two steel springs 9, 10 rests on the stud 4a and on one longitudinal side 13a of the driver bar 8, and the other free end 11b of the spring rests on the stud 4b and on the opposite one, not in the figure visible longitudinal side 13b of the driver bar 8.
- the bolt 1 protruding from the disk 2 forms with its end 14 part of a universal joint 15, while a second part 16 of this universal joint 15 forms a bushing 17 with an internal thread 18 for screwing in a driver rod on the side facing away from the joint 15.
- the second part 16 of the universal joint 15 on the side facing away from the joint 15 form a rod with an external thread at the end, onto which a driver rod with a threaded sleeve at the end can be screwed.
- a plug connection can also be used, for example with a bayonet lock.
- a pin with a transverse bore can be placed on the end 14 of the protruding bolt 1 and secured with a dowel pin. A rod can then be inserted into the transverse bore and clamped with an axial screw. In this way, in addition to the door closer for garden gates, you also get one for closing rods of pasture fence openings.
- the Figure 5 shows the door closer before being inserted into a ring mount 36 or as a variant in a pipe clamp or a pipe section on a door post, which is mounted on the inside of the door post 35 in the direction of a fence, viewed from the passage.
- the door closer is inserted into this ring socket so that it cannot twist.
- the Figure 6 shows it then inserted into the ring socket 36 on a fence post 35.
- a locking rod 39 is inserted and secured in the bolt end 14 of the door closer instead of a driver rod.
- the fence can then be passed on foot or with a vehicle in that the closing rod 39 is swung open by the person walking through or the vehicle driving slowly through and is reliably closed again after passing. Animals, however, perceive the closing rod 39 as an obstacle.
- FIG 7 shows the door closer used inside the steel tube 25 of a door post, for use as a door closer for a garden gate, as with Figure 2 has been shown in a schematic manner.
- a retaining bracket 34 is part of a bracket 32 through which the driver rod 27 is passed and can be moved back and forth in the bracket 32 because of the different positions of the door pivot axis and the pivot axis of the door closer bolt.

Description
Many doors, namely garden doors or doors in barriers, fences and hedges are simple constructions. They are designed as single-leaf doors, so they only have a single door leaf, which is hinged on one side and can be swung open on both sides. Such doors are built into wire mesh fences, for example. These wire mesh fences have vertical tubular steel posts that are offset at intervals, and the areas between the tubular steel posts are braced with a wire mesh. High quality versions are made with galvanized tubular steel posts, the upper end of which is closed by a chrome steel or aluminum cap with a frustoconical shape. A more or less coarse rectangular-meshed wire mesh or a so-called diagonal wire mesh is braced between the individual posts as the wire mesh. Where a door is to be installed, two posts are set with a little more distance than the width of the door to be used. Hinges are provided on one pillar, into which a door made of a square or rectangular frame is inserted. These frames are usually made of the same pipe material as the tubular steel posts, and they are either curved by a right angle for each of the four corners or screwed together with fittings in the form of bends from straight pipe sections or welded together from pipe parts. The area within the frame is braced with a wire mesh in the same way as the fence. It is clear that there are many similar constructions, with bare steel profiles instead of pipes, for example with T-profiles, or made with inferior materials, such as wood or ordinary structural steel, which is painted to protect against corrosion. Sometimes chrome steel posts are set for luxurious versions of barriers, with strong glass plates inserted between them, for example.
With all these barriers and fences, the problem arises that a built-in door is often left open after walking through. Such doors are designed either with a door latch and associated lock, or with a sliding bolt or a pivoting bolt, but the users of the doors often do not close them after passing through the doors. Minors forget themselves when they pass such a door in groups, and so it is then open for a long time and the barrier does not serve its purpose, namely to clearly mark a private area to third parties. A door that is always closed or at least appears closed when not in use would be ideal, and which would always swing back into its starting position automatically after passing through, i.e. when it was opened, i.e. when it was opened, regardless of the side, and would therefore remain closed .
Against this technological background, the object of the present invention is to create a compact and solid door closer for a garden door, for a pasture fence and similar applications, which is effective in both closing directions, which is maintenance-free and which is easy to use for new designs of doors as well as retrospectively can be integrated into a door post so that its drive remains invisible. This object is achieved by a double-sided effective door closer for use in or on a vertical door post or for fixed placement on one, which is characterized by the features of

The
The

The
