Definitions

  • the invention relates to a manufacturing device for a multi-ply security paper, which has a first wet section, which forms a first paper web, and a second wet section, which forms a second paper web, a device for applying security elements to the first paper web and a couch device for connecting the first and the second paper web to form an overall paper web, the couch device being arranged downstream of the device for applying security elements.
  • the invention further relates to a production method for a multi-ply security paper, in which a first paper web is formed by means of a first wet section of a paper machine, and a second paper web is formed by means of a second wet section, security elements are applied to the first paper web and first and second paper web thereafter connected by couching to form an overall paper web.
  • Security papers or documents of value produced therefrom are often provided with authenticity features, such as watermarks, embedded security threads and the like, which allow the authenticity of the security paper or document of value to be checked and at the same time serve as protection against unauthorized reproduction.
  • the DE 102012024014 A1 creates holes in the first paper web for a security thread.
  • the DE 4041267 A1 deals with the insertion of security threads in a cylinder mold paper machine.
  • the DE 102015003187 A1 describes how paper patches can be provided inside a plastic value document substrate. In addition a paper strip or a sequence of paper patches is introduced before or during the lamination of two plastic films.
  • DE 102016001107 A1 relates to a suction device for removing paper fibers from one of two paper webs while it is still wet.
  • EP 2933376 A1 describes an endless security thread with individual features that is applied longitudinally in register to the individual blanks of a passport paper web on the passport paper web.
  • the WO 2005/0124023 A1 discloses a generic manufacturing device and a generic manufacturing method in which a paper machine produces first and second paper webs in two wet sections, which are then connected by couching to form an overall paper web. Beforehand, a substance that implements a security element, for example made of mottled fibers, is applied to the first paper web.
  • the manufacturing process according to WO 2005/0124023 A1 is limited to authenticity features that are created by introducing a liquid substance into the banknote paper. The location of the points to which the liquid substance is applied is fixed by the geometry of a spray head.
  • A1 paper fibers are first applied to a belt in order to produce a first paper web.
  • Optically variable material - optionally in the form of a strip or individual elements - is applied to the first paper web before further paper fibers are applied to the first paper web.
  • the elements can be applied with a stamp.
  • a time interval between two stamping processes determines a distance between the elements in the transport direction of the paper web, with the transport of the paper web having to be interrupted for the stamping process.
  • the optically variable material is sprayed on or printed on in a masked manner.
  • the invention is based on the object of specifying a production method and a production device for a multi-ply security paper which eliminates the limitations of the prior art with regard to the position and type of the security elements.
  • the production device serves to produce a multi-ply security paper. It has a first wet end, which forms a first paper web, and a second wet end, which forms a second paper web.
  • a device for applying security elements to the first paper web is also provided.
  • a couching device is provided downstream of this device in order to connect the first and the second paper web to form an overall paper web.
  • the device for applying security elements comprises two sections. A first section is a feed device for feeding in prepared and isolated security elements.
  • a second section is an application device for applying the separated security elements to the first paper web.
  • the manufacturing process includes forming a first paper web by means of a first wet end of a paper machine and a second paper web by means of a second wet end. Security elements are applied to the first paper web, and then the first and second paper webs are couched to form an overall paper web.
  • the security elements are prepared and fed in individually and then placed transversally on the first paper web.
  • the first and/or second paper web can be provided with a watermark. Further it is possible in a known way and Way to incorporate a security thread, a window thread or a so-called pendulum thread into the overall paper web.
  • security paper designates unprinted paper that is further processed at a later point in time to produce documents of value. It represents a preliminary stage for the value document.
  • Value documents within the meaning of the present invention are in particular banknotes, shares, bonds, certificates, vouchers, checks, admission tickets, but also other papers at risk of forgery, such as passports and other identification documents, as well as product security elements such as labels, seals , packaging and the like.
  • the simplified designation "security paper” or "document of value” includes all such documents and product security measures.
  • the transport direction of the paper web (or the length of the paper web) defines a longitudinal direction.
  • a transverse direction is thus - as usual - perpendicular to the length or transport direction of the paper web.
  • the security elements are applied in a transversely placed manner, that is to say applied with an adjustable transverse position. The position of the security elements on the paper web can thus be set differently transversally—across the paper web.
  • the security paper is multi-layered and comprises at least two layers of paper, between which the isolated security elements lie. Further layers can also be made of paper, but also of other materials, for example plastic films.
  • the paper is preferably cotton paper as used for banknotes.
  • the paper machine can be a fourdrinier machine or a cylindrical mold machine, in particular a countercurrent cylindrical mold machine, a co-current cylindrical mold machine or a double cylinder screen machine.
  • the entire paper web is preferably output as continuous paper.
  • the manufacturing device and the manufacturing method apply the security elements individually.
  • the selection of the side of the security elements lying on top on the first paper web and/or the alignment can thus be controlled.
  • a first embodiment uses a transfer web for the feeder for application.
  • the isolated security elements are arranged on the transfer web.
  • a transfer roller is used as the application device, which transfers the security elements from the transfer web to the first paper web.
  • the transfer roller can be used flexibly with regard to the position of the isolated security elements on the transfer web if it has transfer stamps arranged transversely differently, for example next to one another transversely to the paper web, which can be controllably extended out of the roller. In particular for such a configuration of the transfer roller, it is preferred that the transfer web has receptacles for holding the individual security elements.
  • the recordings then define a grid in which the isolated security elements can be applied. Of course, not all grid positions need to be filled. This can be chosen depending on the application.
  • the security elements can also adhere to a surface of the transfer web designed as a separating layer.
  • the supply device has at least one dispenser unit which has a delivery which delivers the security elements to the transfer web.
  • the dispenser unit particularly preferably provides a security element at the delivery station away.
  • the position of the delivery station relative to the transfer track can be adjusted, so that the transfer track can be fitted with security elements in a transversely adjustable manner by appropriate control of the dispenser unit.
  • the advantage of this approach is that the dispenser unit can be designed independently of the feed speed of the transfer web and ultimately also independently of the feed speed of the first paper web. This also applies to variants of the dispenser unit that have a supply belt with isolated security elements. It is not necessary for the supply belt and the transfer web or the first paper web to run at the same speed.
  • a dispenser unit is then designed in the form of a feed device in the form of a feed belt, which feeds in the individual security elements, and an application device, which is designed as a delivery end of the feed belt that can be adjusted transversally to the first paper web.
  • Both the transfer web and the dispenser unit, and in particular a supply tape of the dispenser unit, can be kept available as a wound roll on which a tape with isolated security elements is prepared.
  • the security elements are detachably provided on the belt and can thus easily be placed on the first paper web with appropriate adjustability of the delivery point and also in a freely selectable position.
  • security elements are planchettes, badges or mottled fibers.
  • the security element can be formed from paper and/or plastic, ie for example a polymer film as the substrate, paper as the substrate a composite substrate or polyamide fibers.
  • the security elements have a mechanically or optically detectable property which, in particular, enables an authenticity check.
  • the optically detectable property can be stimulated by means of radiation (UV/IR).
  • the security elements are particularly preferably flat security elements.
  • a panel size is usually specified for the security paper, according to which the entire paper web is separated after production.
  • the procedure according to the invention makes it possible to apply a plurality, in particular an adjustable number, of individual security elements to each panel.
  • the security elements can also differ in size and/or type.
  • banknote 1 shows a banknote schematically in plan view. It was made from a security paper, including by printing.
  • the banknote is made from conventional banknote paper, which is usually cotton paper or paper containing cotton.
  • Two security elements 2 are embedded in the banknote paper, so they are located at least partially within the banknote paper.
  • the banknote 1 has been cut into a blank which originates from a web of security paper 4 on which a multiplicity of blanks 5 are provided, each of which is the precursor for one or more banknotes 1 .
  • FIG. 3 shows schematically a paper machine 6 for producing the security paper 4 in web form. It is constructed, for example, from a first cylinder mold paper machine 8 and a second cylinder mold paper machine 10 and has additional components for feeding in security elements.
  • a paper web 14 is formed on a cylinder mold 12 in a manner known per se.
  • This paper web 14 preferably has a grammage of 60-80 g/m 2 .
  • the cylinder mold 12 is a dewatering fabric whose carrier fabric is optionally provided with reliefs in the form of watermarks to be produced.
  • a first paper web 16 is produced in the first cylinder mold machine 8, for example by paper pulp being sprayed onto the surface of a cylinder mold 20 by means of a headbox nozzle 18.
  • the first paper web 16 produced with the first cylinder mold machine 8 is optionally thinner than the second paper web and has a grammage of between 10-20 g/m 2 , for example. It is removed from the cylinder mold 20 by means of a removal felt 22 and fed to a combining device, for example a couch roll 24, which connects the first paper web 16 to the second paper web 14 to form an overall paper web 26.
  • a combining device for example a couch roll 24
  • a coil 28 When the paper webs 14, 16 are brought together, a coil 28 also produces an endless security element, for example in the form of a security thread 30 unwound and embedded between the two paper webs 14,16 when connecting.
  • an application device 32 which applies individual security elements, i.e. security elements designed as individual pieces, to the first paper web 16 applied in such a way that the security elements lie between the paper webs when the first paper web 16 and the second paper web 14 are connected.
  • security elements are applied to the underside of the first paper web 14 carried by the pick-up felt 22. It is essential for the application device 32 that it supplies the security elements individually and in each case individually, ie deposits them on the first paper web 16 at a distance from other security elements.
  • Various embodiments for the application device 32 are described below with reference to FIG Figures 4 to 8 explained.
  • a supply spool 34 is provided, on which a carrier web 36 is wound, z. B. in recordings, a variety of isolated security elements 2 carries.
  • the receptacles can be embodied as mechanical holders for one security element each or as surface areas of the carrier web 36 provided with a separating layer, to which the security elements adhere releasably.
  • the carrier web 36 is unwound from the supply spool 34 and guided by means of a deflection roller 38 to a transfer roller 40 which interacts with a counter roller 42 . Transfer roller 40 and counter-roller 42 form a gap through which the first paper web 16 is conveyed.
  • the speeds of movement of the carrier web 36 and the paper web 16 are synchronized with one another.
  • the transfer roller 40 has transfer stamps 44 which transfer the security elements 2 individually from the carrier web 36 to the first paper web 16 .
  • the transfer roller 40 thus acts as an application device for applying the isolated security elements to the first paper web 16 in a placed manner, whereas the carrier web 36 acts as a supply device for supplying prepared and isolated security elements.
  • this structure is capable of figure 5 is indicated schematically to apply multiple security features 2 within a benefit 5.
  • the transfer stamps 44 are matched to the pattern of the security elements 2 on the carrier web 36 .
  • the transfer stamps 44 can be extended individually.
  • the transfer roller 40 includes a plurality of transfer stamps 44; the representation of figure 5 is greatly simplified in this regard.
  • Individually extendable transfer stamps 44 have the advantage that the pattern and possibly also the size of the security elements 2 on the carrier web 36 can be changed without the transfer roller 40 necessarily having to be replaced. It is sufficient for applications to adapt the control of the extendable transfer stamps 44.
  • FIG 5 In the representation of figure 5 are the security elements 2 on the underside of the carrier web 36, since they are transferred from the transfer roller 44 to the underlying first paper web 16. They are in for the sake of clarity figure 5 dashed at the top of the carrier web 36 (the term top is due to the illustration in figure 5 related) drawn.
  • the carrier sheet 36 from which all or some of the security elements have been detached, is then wound up on a winding 46.
  • the Figures 6 and 7 show a second embodiment of the application device 32.
  • the security elements are not transferred from a carrier web by means of a transfer roller, but from a circulating transfer belt 48.
  • the transfer belt 48 runs over deflection rollers 38 and at a speed which is synchronized with that of the first paper web.
  • the transfer roller 40 together with the counter-roller 42, transfers the security elements to the first paper web 16.
  • the transfer belt 48 is equipped with individual security elements 2 by a dispenser 50, which conveys the security elements 2 and places them on the transfer belt 48 at a delivery station 52. In this case, several dispensers 50 can also be used in parallel in embodiments.
  • the dispensers 50 can be adjusted with regard to the location of their delivery stations 52 on the transfer belt 48, so that the location at which the security elements 2 are placed on the transfer belt 48 is controlled.
  • 7 shows a schematic of an embodiment for the dispenser 50. It comprises a carrier web 54 on which the isolated security elements 2 are conveyed. The carrier web 54 is guided over deflection rollers 56 and delivers the security elements 2 onto the transfer belt 48 at the delivery station 52 .
  • the delivery location can be adjusted by means of an adjustment device 58 illustrated by a cross arrow. This is controlled by a control unit 60.
  • the dispenser 50 or the dispensers 50 are designed such that at least one security element 2, preferably two or more security elements, can be placed on the corresponding locations of the transfer belt 48 assigned to the blank 5 for each panel 5. In 7 this is shown schematically for an illustrated panel 5 .
  • the carrier web 54 can be a carrier web similar to the carrier web 36 on which the security features 2 are delivered. in the In contrast to the carrier web 36, however, no multi-row arrangements of security elements are provided.
  • FIG. 8 shows a third embodiment of the application device 32. This is designed in such a way that it can be used with a dispenser 50 similar to that of FIG Figures 6 and 7 the first paper web 16 is fitted with security elements 2 directly.
  • dispensers 50 generally has the advantage that the speed of the carrier web 54 can differ from the speed of the first paper web 16 (which of course must correspond to the speed of the transfer belt 48).
  • the security elements are preferably security elements made of paper, for example planchettes or so-called mottled fibers.
  • the application of such papery, isolated security elements allows fibers and elements with a larger titre and larger area to be used than with the conventional application of mottled fibers from the liquid phase, such as those already mentioned WO 2005/124023 A1 took place.
  • mottled fibers There was a risk of mottled fibers tearing out during printing if the titer of the mottled fibers was too large, so that the fibers were not embedded sufficiently. It was therefore necessary with this prior art to limit the titer of the mottled fibers to a maximum of 20 dtex.
  • a titre of mottled fibers of 30 dtex and greater is used.
