Description

The present invention relates to a light signal for installation in the area of a traffic route, in particular a railway track, and for displaying signal terms.

Light signals are used to control traffic flows in a wide variety of ways in road, rail, air and ship traffic. So-called dwarf signals are used by the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) and by more than 30 private railways and serve as light signals to protect routes within station and shunting areas. Dwarf signals thus perform functions for both maneuvering and train operation. As a rule, dwarf signals are always placed to the left of the track in Switzerland. Dwarf signals are located directly on the floor next to the track, only in special individual cases are they raised for better visibility. A dwarf signal has three white lamps or three lights in an L-shaped arrangement. In Switzerland, a dwarf signal can display three different signal terms:
  • STOP,
  • RIDE WITH CAUTION or CAUTION for short, and
  • JOURNEY.
On the back of a dwarf signal, the words CAUTION or DRIVE are displayed with a white light; the light source for the upper lamp is used for this; the light is directed to the back via a mirror. This return signaling as a glowing, inclined bar means that a route has been cleared for DRIVING or for CAUTION and an oncoming vehicle is therefore to be expected. The reverse signaling also allows a train driver to read the dwarf signal from behind, which can be particularly important in shunting.

In particular in the case of direct current railways, the installation of these dwarf signals places certain demands on the Railway operator. This is because the protective earth of the low-voltage network between the dwarf signal and the signal box, the building earth of the entire railway line and the railway earth of the DC power supply must be galvanically separated from each other. For this reason, the dwarf signals for DC railways are mounted on separate prefabricated concrete bases. Although the galvanic isolation is ensured with these concrete bases, they have the disadvantage that they are complex to handle and therefore correspondingly unpopular with the infrastructure managers.

The utility model DE 20 2015 106 315 U1 shows a light signal for installation in the area of a traffic route and for displaying signal terms with a two-part signal mast, comprising a foot part, a height-adjustable part that can be connected to the foot part at different mounting heights, and a signal head attached to the height-adjustable part with correspondingly for displaying the Signal terms provided signal lights.

The present invention is therefore based on the object of specifying a light signal for installation in the area of a traffic route, in particular a railway track, and for displaying signal terms, which in particular fulfills the requirement for the electrical isolation of the various reference earths and at the same time is also characterized by simple mounting .

  1. a) einen zweiteiligen Signalmast, umfassend einen Fussteil und einen höhenverstellbaren Teil, wobei der höhenverstellbare Teil in verschiedenen Montagehöhen mit dem Fussteil verbindbar ist;
  3. c) Isolierelemente, wie z.B. Unterlegscheiben und/oder Gewindebuchsen aus Kunststoff, zur galvanischen Trennung der Verbindung des Fussteils und des höhenverstellbaren Teils;
According to the invention, this object is achieved by a light signal for setting up in the area of a traffic route and for displaying signal terms, comprising:
  1. a) a two-part signal mast, comprising a foot part and a height-adjustable part, the height-adjustable part being connectable to the foot part at different mounting heights;
  2. b) an insulating layer, in particular an insulating plate, for galvanically separating the foot part from the height-adjustable part,
  3. c) insulating elements, such as washers and / or threaded bushings made of plastic, for the electrical isolation of the connection of the foot part and the height-adjustable part;
  4. d) an enveloping element at least partially surrounding the signal mast made of an insulating material; and
  5. e) a signal head attached to the height-adjustable part with correspondingly for displaying the signal terms provided signal lamps.

In this way, the required galvanic isolation is achieved, with the signal mast through the envelope element, e.g. two pluggable half-pipes made of plastic, especially in its upper part of the height-adjustable component is completely shielded from the ground and ballast. In addition, the height-adjustable part is completely insulated from the foot part by the insulating layer and the insulating elements, so that the signal head itself is at the potential of the supply lines for the electrical supply of the signal lights and is shielded both against the building earth and against the railway earth.

Since the display of the light signal is comparatively flexible with regard to the height of the arrangement of the signal head due to the height adjustability of the two-part signal mast and also largely flexible with regard to the installation depth of the signal mast in the ground and / or in the ballast, the signal head can be arranged near the ground, making the light signal as Dwarf signal can be used.

In order to achieve good stability of the foot part and the height-adjustable part, the height-adjustable part can be made telescopically extendable. For example, the height-adjustable part can slide on corresponding insulating layers in the guides of the foot part and then be fixed in the desired position.

The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing, for example. Show:
Figure 1
a perspective view of a dwarf signal with cladding tube on the left and without cladding tube on the right; and
Figure 2
a front view of a two-part signal tower on which the in Figure 1 shown signal head is mountable.

Figure 1 now shows a perspective view of a dwarf signal 2, as used by a large number of railway operators arranged near the ground. The dwarf signal 2 comprises a signal head 4, which rests on a two-part signal mast 6. The signal head 4 has three signal points 8, 10, 12 for representing signal terms such as DRIVING, CAUTION, STOP. In the illustration on the left, the two-part signal mast 6 is surrounded by an insulating tube 14 made of plastic. In this illustration, only one mast foot 16 belonging to the foot part 18 can be seen from the signal mast 6. When installed in the track area, however, the signal mast 6 is arranged almost completely in the ground and / or track ballast, so that the insulating tube 14 in particular has a height-adjustable mast part 20 (cf. Figure 2 ) and thus also the signal head 4 isolated from the ground and the ballast. For simple assembly of the insulating tube 14, it can be produced from two half-tubes on site by compressing locking grooves.

Figure 2 shows a front view of the in Figure 1 Signal mast 6 already introduced and its two-part structure, comprising the foot part 18 and the height-adjustable mast part 20. The mast part 20 has fastening bearings 22 in the upper region for mounting the signal head 4. The mast part 20 is moved up and down in the foot part 18 and thereby slides on an insulating plate 24 made of plastic. When the mast part 20 is screwed to the foot part 18, the screws 26 and the rear nuts with washers 28 are also insulated. In addition, a plastic bushing is also inserted into the borehole, so that it is reliably avoided that the screws 26 electrically connect the mast part 20 to the foot part 18.

In this way, the required galvanic isolation is achieved, the signal mast 6 being shielded from the ground and track ballast by the cladding tube 14, such as two half-tubes made of plastic which can be plugged together. In addition is also the height-adjustable mast part 20 is completely insulated from the foot part 18 by the insulating layer 24 and the insulating elements 28, so that the signal head 4 itself lies at the potential of the supply lines (not shown here) for the electrical supply of the signal points 8 to 12 and both against the building earth as well as being shielded from the railway earth.
