Definitions
- the invention relates to a foil arrangement according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
- Foilboards are used for surfing as well as for kite and windsurfing and make it possible to drive faster than the wind with comparatively small kites / sail areas even with very little wind in the wind range from 2 Bft. Due to the extremely low flow resistance during foiling, driving speeds can be achieved even with these low wind strengths, which are clearly superior to conventional surfboards and race boards. In recent times SUP boards or boards for surfing have also been made with foils, which make it possible to move much faster than with conventional boards even with small waves or sufficient propulsion.
- foil arrangements are attached to the board with their mast (also called shaft or keel) via a fastening plate or a box system, such as a Tuttle box, future box or the like.
- the disadvantage of this known solution is that the production of the foil arrangement, in particular the connection between the mast and the adapter plate, is relatively complex.
- the adapter plate is usually screwed to the mast so that it can be exchanged if necessary.
- the invention is based on the object of creating a foil arrangement which can be produced with reduced outlay in terms of device technology.
- the foil arrangement has a mast which can be fastened to a board, for example a kite board, surf board, SUP board or a surfboard by means of an adapter or an adapter plate, and which carries a fuselage on its end section remote from the adapter plate, on which a front wing and a rear wing are attached.
- the adapter / adapter plate is glued to the mast.
- the adapter plate glued to the mast can then be screwed directly to the board.
- the adapter or the adapter plate can also be inserted into a corresponding receptacle attached to the board.
- a solution of this type has the advantage that, with appropriate production of the adapter plate and the mast, a permanently play-free connection can be established. Furthermore, the tight bonding prevents sand or other foreign matter from penetrating into the connection area between the mast and the adapter plate. In the event that the mast is made of a metallic material, for example aluminum, the gluing also prevents corrosion in the connection area on the adapter plate.
- the mast has an end section which is designed in such a way that it can be inserted precisely into a receptacle on the adapter plate side.
- This end section can have the same profile as the part of the mast against which the flow is flowing. To improve the support, however, this end section can also be designed with a different profile that is optimized with regard to the introduction of force.
- the receptacle on the adapter plate side is then designed accordingly, so that a precisely fitting receptacle of the end section is ensured.
- the end section of the mast can be supported at the end on a bottom surface of the receptacle or on the adapter plate.
- the fuselage is screwed to the mast so that the foil arrangement can be taken apart in a simple manner for transport.
- the mast is made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy and the fuselage is made of plastic, in particular fiber-reinforced plastic, such as carbon fiber-reinforced plastic.
- one or more stainless steel inserts are inserted into the mast, which in turn are provided with a screw thread.
- the screw connection then has the same material pairing, so that corrosion is reliably avoided in the screw area and thus the connection is easy to loosen.
- the wings are also screwed to the fuselage. These wings can also be made from a fiber-reinforced plastic.
- the driving behavior of the foil arrangement can be further improved if the wings are designed with winglets.
- the adapter plate is in turn screwed to the board.
- this screw connection can take place directly or via a suitable box system or some other receptacle, wherein the box system can be designed in the manner of a Future Tuttle / Minituttle, FCS, BFS or Finn-Plug system or the like.
- FIG. 1 shows a side view of a board 1 intended for surfing, kiting, surfing or stand-up paddling (“SUP”) or windsurfing, to which a foil arrangement 2 according to the invention is attached.
- This has a mast 4 which carries an adapter plate 6 on its board-side end section which can be fastened to the board.
- the term “adapter plate” does not necessarily mean a plate-shaped structure but any adapter that can be attached to the board in a suitable manner.
- the adapter plate is designed approximately in the form of a plate and can then be screwed using fasteners with corresponding screw sockets that are received in the board.
- fin box systems usually used in boards, such as a Future, Tuttle / Minituttle, FCS, BFS, or Finn-Plug system or the like, can be used to connect the adapter plate, for example via two boxes To attach board.
- a fuselage 8 is attached to the end section of the mast 4 that is remote from the board 1 and carries a front wing 10 at the front and a rear wing 12 at the rear. Both wings 8, 12 are each provided with winglets 14, 16, for example the winglets 14 on the front wing 10 extending downwards and the winglets 16 on the rear wing 12 extending upwards. As can also be seen from the illustration, this is The front wing 10 is attached from below to a downwardly curved end section of the fuselage 8, the rear wing 12 is placed in the reverse manner on an upwardly curved end section of the fuselage 8.
- the fuselage 8 is screwed to the mast 4.
- the mast is made of an aluminum alloy or the like.
- the fuselage 8 and the two wings 10, 12 are preferably made of a carbon fiber reinforced plastic. If stainless steel screws are now used to attach the fuselage 8 to the mast 4, corrosion occurs between the screw holes made in the aluminum and the stainless steel screws, which can mean that the fuselage can no longer be separated from the mast 4, or only with great effort. In order to avoid this, stainless steel threaded inserts are made in the mast so that the thread engagement only takes place between the material pairing of stainless steel / stainless steel and the corrosion problems described cannot occur.
- the mast 4 is glued to the adapter plate 6.
- a receptacle 18 is formed on the adapter plate 6, into which the corresponding end section of the mast 4 is inserted.
- This recording 18 can, as in Figure 3 be designed as a flange-shaped receptacle 18 which widens towards the adapter plate 6.
- the receptacle 18 is designed with a pocket 24 designed according to the hydrodynamically optimized profile of the mast 4, into which the end section 22 is inserted with a slide or press fit.
- the end section 22 and / or the pocket 24 is provided with a thin layer of adhesive, whereby it should be ensured that this layer of adhesive remains applied over the entire surface after insertion.
- the insertion takes place in such a way that the end section 22 is laterally supported on the curved circumferential surfaces of the pocket 24.
- the receptacle 18 can also be designed to be open downwards, towards the adapter plate 6, so that the adapter-side end face of the mast 4 then rests flat or in sections on the adapter plate 6.
- the part of the end section 22 of the mast 4 that plunges into the receptacle 18 can also deviate with a profile deviating from the hydrodynamically optimized "teardrop shape" and be optimized with regard to the maximum support of the mast.
- the area of the end section 22 that plunges into the receptacle 18 would have a different profile than that in FIG Figure 3 visible, not immersed in the receptacle 18 area.
- the receptacle 18 can, however, also be designed in the manner of one of the above-mentioned systems, for example in the manner of a Tuttlebox, so that the end section of the mast 4 is designed as an adapter that matches this system. In this way, this adapter can be inserted precisely into the receptacle 18.
- a suitable high-strength adhesive which is seawater-resistant on the one hand and can also absorb and transfer the loads that occur during foiling on the other.
- the adapter plate 6 has several recesses through which fastening means extend and are screwed into the corresponding screw sockets of the board so that the mast is supported on the board over the comparatively large area of the adapter plate 6.
- a foil arrangement for a surf, SUP, windsurf or kitesurf board with a mast that is attached to the board by means of an adapter plate.
- the end section remote from the board carries a fuselage to which a front wing and a rear wing are attached.
- the adapter plate and the mast are glued together.

Description
The invention relates to a foil arrangement according to the preamble of
Foilboards are used for surfing as well as for kite and windsurfing and make it possible to drive faster than the wind with comparatively small kites / sail areas even with very little wind in the wind range from 2 Bft.
Usually, such foil arrangements are attached to the board with their mast (also called shaft or keel) via a fastening plate or a box system, such as a Tuttle box, future box or the like.
The disadvantage of this known solution is that the production of the foil arrangement, in particular the connection between the mast and the adapter plate, is relatively complex. The adapter plate is usually screwed to the mast so that it can be exchanged if necessary.
Such a screw connection requires a high level of manufacturing complexity, since the fit between the receptacle of the adapter plate and the mast has to be carried out with great precision. Another disadvantage of such a screw connection is that it can loosen during use. To overcome this Solutions in which the mast and the adapter plate are welded are also known disadvantageous.
In contrast, the invention is based on the object of creating a foil arrangement which can be produced with reduced outlay in terms of device technology.
This object is achieved by a foil arrangement with the features of
Vorteilhafte Weiterbildungen der Erfindung sind Gegenstand der Unteransprüche.Advantageous further developments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
According to the invention, the foil arrangement has a mast which can be fastened to a board, for example a kite board, surf board, SUP board or a surfboard by means of an adapter or an adapter plate, and which carries a fuselage on its end section remote from the adapter plate, on which a front wing and a rear wing are attached. According to the invention, the adapter / adapter plate is glued to the mast. The adapter plate glued to the mast can then be screwed directly to the board. In principle, the adapter or the adapter plate can also be inserted into a corresponding receptacle attached to the board.
A solution of this type has the advantage that, with appropriate production of the adapter plate and the mast, a permanently play-free connection can be established. Furthermore, the tight bonding prevents sand or other foreign matter from penetrating into the connection area between the mast and the adapter plate. In the event that the mast is made of a metallic material, for example aluminum, the gluing also prevents corrosion in the connection area on the adapter plate.
In one embodiment of the invention, the mast has an end section which is designed in such a way that it can be inserted precisely into a receptacle on the adapter plate side.
This end section can have the same profile as the part of the mast against which the flow is flowing. To improve the support, however, this end section can also be designed with a different profile that is optimized with regard to the introduction of force. The receptacle on the adapter plate side is then designed accordingly, so that a precisely fitting receptacle of the end section is ensured.
The end section of the mast can be supported at the end on a bottom surface of the receptacle or on the adapter plate.
In one embodiment of the invention, the fuselage is screwed to the mast so that the foil arrangement can be taken apart in a simple manner for transport.
It is particularly preferred if the mast is made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy and the fuselage is made of plastic, in particular fiber-reinforced plastic, such as carbon fiber-reinforced plastic.
To avoid corrosion between the fastening screws and the mast, according to an advantageous development of the invention, one or more stainless steel inserts are inserted into the mast, which in turn are provided with a screw thread. The screw connection then has the same material pairing, so that corrosion is reliably avoided in the screw area and thus the connection is easy to loosen.
In one embodiment of the invention it is provided that the wings are also screwed to the fuselage. These wings can also be made from a fiber-reinforced plastic.
The driving behavior of the foil arrangement can be further improved if the wings are designed with winglets.
In a particularly simple embodiment of the invention, the adapter plate is in turn screwed to the board. Whereby this screw connection can take place directly or via a suitable box system or some other receptacle, wherein the box system can be designed in the manner of a Future Tuttle / Minituttle, FCS, BFS or Finn-Plug system or the like. These systems are usually used to fix fins in appropriate fin boxes using suitable adapters.

Figure 3 a detailed representation of the foil arrangement according toFigure 2 .
The
To accommodate an
The
It is then fixed by means of a suitable high-strength adhesive, which is seawater-resistant on the one hand and can also absorb and transfer the loads that occur during foiling on the other.
This adhesive connection makes it possible to produce the
