Definitions

  • Cling film and aluminum foil are widely used in canteen kitchens. These foils are usually stored rolled up on a core in a dispenser or foil dispenser. Such film dispensers can be designed to hold one or more rolls of film. The provision of two different types of film in a common film dispenser has the advantage that the desired film is quickly and easily available at the place of use. On the other hand, such foil dispensers can often be unwieldy and bulky.
  • the Swiss patent application CH 703992 A2 discloses such a foil dispenser which is designed to receive two rolls of foil.
  • This foil dispenser includes a metal housing with a hinged housing cover and also with a hinged front.
  • U-shaped or V-shaped metal sheets are welded to the inside of the two side walls. These serve as roll holders or bearings for inserting the end sections of the core sleeves, which protrude from the end faces of the film rolls.
  • the bearings are arranged so that the rear film roll can have a larger diameter than the front roll of film. After opening the hinged cover, the rear film roll can be inserted from above into the rear bearings. To insert the front roll of film into the front bearings, however, the front flap must be opened.
  • the bottom of the housing is raised so that the end of the front foil is easier to grip in the area of a gripping opening at the front edge of the bottom.
  • the film dispenser includes an elongated housing that delimits a receiving space for two rolls of film.
  • the film rolls can be rotatably mounted on offset front and rear roll holders or bearings in the housing.
  • the film dispenser is designed in such a way that it can hold a larger and heavier roll of cling film, typically 300m to 500m, and a smaller and lighter roll of aluminum or aluminum foil, typically 40m to 70m. These foil reserves correspond to about a month's consumption in a commercial kitchen.
  • the larger and heavier roll of cling film includes a stable and comparatively heavy core sleeve, the outer diameter of which is in the order of 40mm to 50mm and is typically 47mm.
  • the maximum outer diameter of an unused film roll with cling film is 101mm.
  • the smaller and lighter roll of aluminum foil includes a less stable and comparatively light core sleeve, the outer diameter of which is in the order of 20mm to 30mm and is typically 27mm.
  • the maximum outer diameter of an unused foil roll with aluminum foil is 42mm.
  • the core sleeve of each film roll is longer than the width of the respective film strip, so that the ends of the core sleeve protrude beyond the rolled-up film strip on both sides.
  • the roll holders are designed and arranged in such a way that the film rolls can be stored in the housing in a space-saving and rotatable manner.
  • the roller holders can be arranged adjacent to or adjacent to two opposite side walls of the housing and be designed such that the end regions of the core sleeves are introduced into these roll holders from above when the film rolls are inserted.
  • the housing includes a housing front with a removal opening for film from the front film roll.
  • a bearing surface protrudes into the interior of the housing at the lower edge of this removal opening. This bearing surface supports the end section of the front film strip and holds it in an ergonomic position at a distance from the housing base for pulling out.
  • the support surface is interrupted in a middle section by a further sufficient recess towards the bottom of the housing. In this area, an end section of the film that is spaced apart from the bottom of the housing is freely accessible from above and from below and can thus be easily grasped.
  • the upper edge of the removal opening includes a device for separating film sections that have been pulled out of the housing.
  • the upper edge of the removal opening is preferably jagged.
  • This upper edge is also particularly advantageously convexly curved, so that the removal opening is highest in the middle. This means that after a section of film has been cut off, the front edge of the remaining film supply is slightly convexly curved and in the area protrudes furthest from the grip opening. This also makes it easier to pull another film section out of the film dispenser again.
  • Foil from the rear foil roll can be pulled out of the housing through a free space above the front of the housing.
  • a cutting device is attached to an upper edge of the housing front, as for example from the CH 703992 A2 is known.
  • the case back defines the lowest level of the case.
  • the housing can therefore be designed to be comparatively compact and the space taken up by the housing can be optimally used for storing the film rolls.
  • the housing base can be attached to the outside of the housing base.
  • the foil dispenser can be positioned freely at the desired location.
  • the housing cross-section has the shape of a right-angled trapezium. Mounting openings can be formed in the rear wall of the housing for optional attachment to a wall.
  • the housing and the roll holder can be made of metal, in particular made of stainless steel.
  • the housing includes a loading port at the top which is connected to a loading port on the housing body hinged hinged lid is covered.
  • a loading port at the top which is connected to a loading port on the housing body hinged hinged lid is covered.
  • Such housings are very stable and are also preferred from a hygienic point of view, since they can be easily cleaned. In addition, such housing can be produced easily and inexpensively.
  • the front reel seats are designed to take the reel with the smaller maximum outer diameter, the rear reel seats to hold the reel with the larger maximum outer diameter.
  • the front reel seats are located at a lower level with respect to the inside of the bottom of the case than the rear reel seats. This ensures that the two film rolls can be stored in the housing in a space-saving manner with the maximum permissible external diameters for the respective film rolls.
  • the front film roll then has only a small distance to the bottom of the housing. This distance is preferably less than 5mm, for example in the range from 1mm to 3mm.
  • the level of the rear roll holders and their relative position with respect to the front roll holders is selected in such a way that the mutual distance between two film rolls with the respective maximum permissible outside diameters (typically 101mm and 42mm) is small.
  • This distance is preferably less than 5mm and is, for example, in the range from 1mm to 3mm.
  • the distances of this rear film roll to the bottom of the case, to the rear wall and optionally to a cover of the housing are small and are for example in the range of about 3mm to 8mm.
  • a front and a rear roller holder are preferably arranged as channel-like recesses on the upper end face of a common bearing plate. As a result, the relative position of these roll holders and their arrangement on the plate can be specified exactly.
  • the bearing plates can, for example, comprise angled areas and can be connected to the housing base or the respectively adjacent side walls of the housing by riveting or by other joining techniques.
  • the bearing plates can thus be positioned exactly within the housing.
  • the bearing plates could also be formed directly as formed areas, e.g. of the side walls, the rear wall or the bottom of the housing.
  • the channel-like recesses are preferably so deep or the plate areas or retaining elements adjoining the recesses at the front so high that the core sleeves can be prevented from jumping out of the roll holders when the films are pulled out of the film dispenser.
  • the rear roll holders which are intended for the heavier rolls of film, can for example have a U-shaped cross-section, with the front leg is the restraining element. As a rule, it is sufficient if this front leg extends to a level which is between the single and twice the radius of curvature of the recess above the deepest level of the recess. This radius of curvature essentially corresponds to the diameter of the core sleeve to be accommodated, taking into account the required tolerances.
  • the retaining element preferably extends to a level which is above a core sleeve which is to be accommodated.
  • this retaining element can have a kink or a curvature, which additionally improves the retaining effect. Even with a low weight of the film roll and with an unfavorable pulling angle, the core sleeves of the front film roll can be reliably prevented from jumping out of the front roll holders.
  • the film dispenser can include a hold-down device, which is arranged in the housing in such a way that it exerts an additional compressive force from above onto a front film roll mounted in the front roll holders.
  • This compressive force is preferably determined by the dead weight of the hold-down device and/or by the restoring force of a spring.
  • the hold-down device exerts a Braking force on this film and on the core sleeve stored in the roll holders. This makes it easier to cut off sections of foil. Even if the film supply is almost exhausted and only a few meters left, and if the weight of the front film roll is correspondingly low, film sections can still be easily and reliably cut off at a toothed edge.
  • a further advantage of such hold-down devices is that they help to keep the end section of the front film strip ready to hand at the removal opening. Restoring forces acting on the end section of the film strip are compensated for by the force of the hold-down device, so that the end section of the film strip remains in the desired position.
  • Such restoring forces can be, for example, electrostatic forces of attraction of an adjacent cling film and/or forces which, in the case of aluminum foil, are caused by plastic and/or elastic deformation when the film strip is being rolled up or unrolled.
  • the hold-down device preferably comprises a rod aligned parallel to the axis of the film roll. This can be mounted pivotably on the housing, for example. After a section of film that has been pulled out has been cut off, the rod rests on the end section of the film strip and presses it back down into the desired position on the support surface.
  • the film rolls are inserted into the housing from above. First, the front roll of film is fed into the housing. It slides along a guide ramp of the front recess to the lowest possible level. Then the rear film roll is also inserted from above into the rear roll holder.
  • FIG. 1 An exemplary embodiment of a film dispenser 1 is in figure 1 shown in perspective view.
  • FIG 2 shows the foil dispenser 1 from the front, figure 3 in a side view.
  • the film dispenser includes a housing made of metal, in particular stainless steel. It comprises an essentially rectangular housing base 3, a rectangular rear wall 5, two side walls 7a, 7b, the basic shape of which is a right-angled trapezium, and a housing front 11, which together delimit a receiving space. At the top of the back wall 5 is in figure 1 one of two mounting openings 6 visible.
  • a housing cover 9 is articulated so that it can be opened. He is in the perspective view of figure 1 partially open, so that a front film roll 13 and a rear film roll 15 mounted in the housing can be seen through an exposed loading opening arranged at the top of the housing.
  • the foil rolls 13, 15 each comprise a core sleeve 13a, 15a ( figure 5 ), onto which the respective film strip is wound to form a film supply.
  • the length L1 of the housing is, for example, 360 mm, the width B1 is approximately 170 mm, and the height H1 is approximately 110 mm.
  • the housing cover 9 can be opened and closed about a rear rod 8 which extends in the longitudinal direction of the housing and is attached to the two side walls 7a, 7b.
  • a front rod 10 is located further forward on the housing. she serves on the one hand for placing the housing cover 9 when it covers the loading opening and on the other hand for supporting an end section of the rear film strip when this is pulled out of the housing through an opening gap between the housing cover 9 and the housing front 11.
  • a cutting device with a cutting blade (not shown) that is displaceably mounted along a guide rail is preferably fastened.
  • Such a cutting device as for example from the CH-699230-A2 is known, can also be part of the film dispenser 1.
  • the housing front 11 can, for example, comprise a section of the housing base 3 that is bent upwards, with the bending angle ⁇ preferably being between approximately 90° and 110°, so that the housing front 11 is inclined slightly backwards and is therefore more easily accessible.
  • the housing front 11 includes a removal opening 23 for pulling out an end section of the front film strip.
  • the removal opening 23 extends over a length L2 that is somewhat shorter than the length L1 of the housing, so that the housing front 11 on both sides of the removal opening 23 includes edge areas that are approximately 10 mm to approximately 40 mm wide.
  • the level H2 can be between about 25 mm and 50 mm above the inside of the housing base 3, for example.
  • the support surface 24 preferably has a slight incline of between 0° and approximately 10° in relation to the housing base 3 in the direction of the receiving space. The end section of the film strip thus rests better on the support surface 24 and is prevented from being pulled further back into the receiving space.
  • the arrangement and design of the bearing surface 24 is preferably matched to the front film rolls 13 to be used: the rear edge of the bearing surface 24 lies approximately at the upper level of the core sleeve 13a ( figure 5 ) a maximally filled front film roll 13 mounted in the housing and has only a small distance of, for example, 1 to 3 mm from this front film roll 13 with the maximum permissible outside diameter.
  • the housing front 11 includes a gripping opening 25 between the two sections of the support surface 24.
  • the lower edge of the removal opening 23 is at a lower level H4, which is located between the housing base 3 and the level H2 of the sections of the support surface 24 that are adjacent on both sides.
  • this gripping opening 25 an end section of the film strip resting on the support surface 24 can be easily gripped from above and from below.
  • the upper edge 22 of the removal opening 23 is preferably designed with prongs or teeth as a tear-off edge for aluminum foil. Slightly convex tear-off edges, as shown in the Figures 1 and 2 is shown. This has the effect that the end section of the rolled-up film strip can be grasped more easily at the gripping opening 25 after a film section has been cut off in the central region of the housing.
  • the lowest level H3 of the upper edge 22 is preferably about 15mm to 25mm above the level H2, the highest level or the apex of the curved upper edge 22 is e.g. 5mm to 10mm higher.
  • figure 4 shows the film dispenser 1 also in a side view, but without the side wall 7a, so that the receiving space is visible.
  • figure 5 corresponds to the arrangement in figure 4 , wherein film rolls 13, 15 are stored in the receiving space.
  • Plate-shaped supports 27 are arranged in the receiving space directly adjacent to the side walls 7a, 7b or at a small distance therefrom.
  • a front roller holder 29 and a rear roller holder 31 are formed in the form of channel-like recesses on an upper end face of each carrier 27 .
  • the recess of the rear roller holder 31 has a U-shaped cross section and is for receiving and rotatable Store a core sleeve 15a formed, the outer diameter of which is typically 47 mm.
  • the carrier 27 With a rear limb 33, which delimits the recess at the rear, the carrier 27 has a maximum height H5 with respect to the inside of the housing base 3.
  • the height H6 of a central limb 35, which delimits the recess at the front, is less than the maximum height H6.
  • the deepest level H7 of the recess is more than half the typical outer diameter of a core sleeve 15a to be accommodated lower than the height H6 of the central leg 35.
  • the film roll lies due to gravity securely in the recesses of the rear roll holder 31.
  • the core sleeve 15a does not jump out of the rear roll holder 31 even if additional forces act on the core sleeve 15a when a film section is pulled off.
  • the recess of the front roller holder 29 comprises, starting from the central leg 35, a ramp 37 which slopes downwards at an angle and extends to a horizontal base section 39 at a lowest level H8 of this recess. Forwardly adjacent to this base portion 39, a front leg or retainer 41 projects upward to a level H9.
  • the retaining element 41 is preferably designed in the manner of a hook, with a first inclined section 41a extending towards the housing front 11 extends and wherein an adjoining second section 41b is aligned approximately parallel to the ramp 37.
  • the angled retaining element 41 also acts as a brake when aluminum foil is pulled out from the front foil roll 13 .
  • This film section is slightly stretched. This can prevent the front 13 film roll from rotating in an uncontrolled manner when a tensile force is exerted on the end section of the film. Thanks to this braking effect, film sections can be cut off in a controlled manner, resulting in a perfect tear-off edge.
  • this film roll 13 is inserted into the housing from above and then slides along the ramps 37 into the desired position. If the film supply of the rear film roll in 15 is so large that it would impede the insertion of the front film roll 13, the rear film roll 15 removed from the housing and after inserting the front film roll 13 reinserted into the rear roll holder 31.
  • figure 6 shows a hold-down device 43 in the form of a substantially U-shaped bracket.
  • the bracket On both sides of a central straight section 45, the bracket comprises a Z-shaped lever arm 47.
  • the hold-down device 43 is preferably made of steel or stainless steel. Its diameter can be, for example, in the range from 3mm to 8mm, preferably in the range from 4mm to 6mm. Such hold-down devices 43 have sufficient mass to hold down film sections and can be manufactured at low cost.
  • the surface of the hold-down device 43 is smooth. This can prevent a film section from tearing in an uncontrolled manner when it is pulled out of the housing.
  • such hold-down devices 43 can be mounted pivotably in the housing, for example in bores 49 on two opposing supports 27 .
  • the end sections of the lever arms 47 protrude from the inside of the housing into the bores 49 .
  • such lever arms 47 could also be mounted in bores on the side walls of the housing (not shown).
  • the lever arms could also be C-shaped and from the outside in holes 49 on the to Side walls spaced supports 27 engage (not shown).
  • the hold-down device 43 is pivotably mounted in the housing about a pivot axis defined by the bores 49 .
  • the hold-down device 43 is shown in two pivot positions. In the first pivoting position, the hold-down device 43 is represented by a solid line. The straight section 45 rests on the rolled-up foil strip of the front foil roll 13 . In the second pivot position, the hold-down device 43 pivoted downwards by a pivot angle ⁇ is represented by a broken line. The supply of film is completely used up here, so that the straight section 45 rests on the core sleeve 13a.
  • the hold-down device 43 is preferably designed and arranged in such a way that the straight section 45 rests on the film strip offset in the direction of the removal opening 23 relative to the axis of rotation Z of the front film roll 13, independently of the respective film supply. The effect of this is that the hold-down device 43 can fulfill its intended task even when the film supply is low.
  • the periphery of the core sleeve 13a limits the pivoting range of the hold-down device 43. There is thus no risk that the hold-down device 43 could carry out a further inward pivoting movement and thereby draw the end section of the film strip into the housing.
  • the hold-down device 43 can also be designed in a different way. It is essential that the hold-down device 43 is designed and pivoted or generally movable in the housing that it can exert a force from above transverse to the pull-out direction on an end portion of the front film strip.
