Definitions

  • the invention relates to an odor trap for sanitary devices, in particular urinals, preferably urinals without rinsing water, with a drainage element having a pipe section, the pipe section defining a sealing wall, with a sealing membrane which is in sealing contact with the sealing wall in a closed position and with liquid present, such as Urine, is pressed away from the sealing wall into an open position, and with a holder for mounting the sealing membrane relative to the sealing wall, wherein the sealing membrane is fixed on the holder, and wherein the holder is supported below the sealing membrane.
  • Odor trap devices for sanitary objects without rinsing water are known in various designs.
  • the term rinse-free means that no rinse water is used for rinsing the sanitary object, for example a urinal or a sanitary drain basin.
  • the rinsing water-free rinsing is carried out by a corresponding design of the components of the sanitary article and the odor trap device, the liquid to be removed, in particular urine, flowing out of the sanitary article due to gravity.
  • the EP 2 840 191 A1 discloses an odor trap device for urinals, which comprises a drainage element having a sealing wall, a sealing membrane and a bearing element for mounting the sealing membrane relative to the sealing wall.
  • the sealing membrane is sealingly in contact with the sealing wall in a closed position and, when urine or another liquid is present, is pressed away from the closed position into an open position away from the sealing wall, as a result of which a gap is formed between the sealing membrane and the sealing wall, through which the liquid flows.
  • the sealing membrane has a sealing surface that runs parallel to the sealing wall, the sealing surface lying flat against the sealing wall. The sealing membrane faces in front of the
  • the bearing element has a flat bearing plate with radially outwardly extending bearing webs, via which the bearing plate is mounted in the drain element.
  • the stowage section of the sealing membrane is supported on the bearing webs.
  • This known odor trap device has numerous dead spaces in front of the odor barrier, whereby there is a risk of odor formation.
  • the gap between the sealing membrane and the sealing wall only forms when there is a relatively large amount of urine or liquid, which creates the risk of odors.
  • the CH 18 657 A discloses an odor trap device, among other things for urinals, with a drainage element having a pipe section, the pipe section having at its lower end a circumferential, radially inwardly projecting shoulder, in which a conical drainage opening defining a valve seat is formed.
  • the conical drain opening is assigned a mushroom-shaped valve body which is mounted on a helical spring which is supported on a bracket which is attached to the shoulder of the pipe section via two rods.
  • the pre-tensioning of the helical spring is selected such that the pressure of the valve body on the valve seat is sufficient on the one hand so that the closure device closes gas-tight and on the other hand opens under the weight of a water column of a few millimeters.

  • the sealing membrane is fixed on the holder, the holder being supported below the sealing membrane, the number or size of dead spaces in front of the odor barrier can be reduced and the risk of odor formation thus minimized.
  • the proposed solution enables the sealing membrane to be arranged relative to the holder and the sealing wall in such a way that even small amounts of urine or liquid that are present are safely drained away.
  • the holder is below the sealing membrane in contact with the pipe section.
  • the device according to the invention does not require that a stowage section of the sealing membrane is supported on bearing webs of the holder in order to prevent the sealing membrane from being pressed open and thus from opening in the event of a counterpressure in the sewage system. Rather, the contact area of the sealing membrane on its holder can be minimized by the solution according to the invention, as a result of which the number or size of dead spaces in front of the odor barrier is considerably reduced and the risk of odor formation can thus be minimized.
