Definitions
- the invention relates to an odor trap for sanitary devices, in particular urinals, preferably urinals without rinsing water, with a drainage element having a pipe section, the pipe section defining a sealing wall, with a sealing membrane which is in sealing contact with the sealing wall in a closed position and with liquid present, such as Urine, is pressed away from the sealing wall into an open position, and with a holder for mounting the sealing membrane relative to the sealing wall, wherein the sealing membrane is fixed on the holder, and wherein the holder is supported below the sealing membrane.
- Odor trap devices for sanitary objects without rinsing water are known in various designs.
- the term rinse-free means that no rinse water is used for rinsing the sanitary object, for example a urinal or a sanitary drain basin.
- the rinsing water-free rinsing is carried out by a corresponding design of the components of the sanitary article and the odor trap device, the liquid to be removed, in particular urine, flowing out of the sanitary article due to gravity.
- the EP 2 840 191 A1 discloses an odor trap device for urinals, which comprises a drainage element having a sealing wall, a sealing membrane and a bearing element for mounting the sealing membrane relative to the sealing wall.
- the sealing membrane is sealingly in contact with the sealing wall in a closed position and, when urine or another liquid is present, is pressed away from the closed position into an open position away from the sealing wall, as a result of which a gap is formed between the sealing membrane and the sealing wall, through which the liquid flows.
- the sealing membrane has a sealing surface that runs parallel to the sealing wall, the sealing surface lying flat against the sealing wall. The sealing membrane faces in front of the
- the bearing element has a flat bearing plate with radially outwardly extending bearing webs, via which the bearing plate is mounted in the drain element.
- the stowage section of the sealing membrane is supported on the bearing webs.
- This known odor trap device has numerous dead spaces in front of the odor barrier, whereby there is a risk of odor formation.
- the gap between the sealing membrane and the sealing wall only forms when there is a relatively large amount of urine or liquid, which creates the risk of odors.
- the CH 18 657 A discloses an odor trap device, among other things for urinals, with a drainage element having a pipe section, the pipe section having at its lower end a circumferential, radially inwardly projecting shoulder, in which a conical drainage opening defining a valve seat is formed.
- the conical drain opening is assigned a mushroom-shaped valve body which is mounted on a helical spring which is supported on a bracket which is attached to the shoulder of the pipe section via two rods.
- the pre-tensioning of the helical spring is selected such that the pressure of the valve body on the valve seat is sufficient on the one hand so that the closure device closes gas-tight and on the other hand opens under the weight of a water column of a few millimeters.
- a bell-shaped sealing valve for a waterless urinal which is made of an elastic material.
- the inside of the sealing valve has vertically extending ribs which extend into a sealing area of the sealing valve and serve as structural support for the sealing valve.
- the outside of the valve seals against an inner wall a cartridge.
- Such a cartridge is arranged below a drain of a urinal and connected to a drain line.
- the present invention has for its object to provide a device of the type mentioned, in which the risk of odor is minimized and in which even small amounts of urine or liquid are safely removed.
- the sealing membrane is fixed on the holder, the holder being supported below the sealing membrane, the number or size of dead spaces in front of the odor barrier can be reduced and the risk of odor formation thus minimized.
- the proposed solution enables the sealing membrane to be arranged relative to the holder and the sealing wall in such a way that even small amounts of urine or liquid that are present are safely drained away.
- the holder is below the sealing membrane in contact with the pipe section.
- the device according to the invention does not require that a stowage section of the sealing membrane is supported on bearing webs of the holder in order to prevent the sealing membrane from being pressed open and thus from opening in the event of a counterpressure in the sewage system. Rather, the contact area of the sealing membrane on its holder can be minimized by the solution according to the invention, as a result of which the number or size of dead spaces in front of the odor barrier is considerably reduced and the risk of odor formation can thus be minimized.
- the inlet area at the storage section of the Design the sealing membrane in such a way that even small amounts of urine or liquids are safely drained off.
- an advantageous embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the sealing membrane has a rubber-elastic, upwardly tapering stowage section and a rubber-elastic, essentially hollow-cylindrical section adjoining it in the direction of the discharge, the outside of the stowage section with the tube piece having an annular, uninterrupted inlet channel limited, which tapers towards zero when viewed in the direction of the discharge. This allows small amounts of urine or liquid to be drained away very safely and reliably.
- the inlet channel viewed in cross-section, is preferably essentially gusset-shaped, in that the damming section has a spherical-section-shaped or curved outer surface and thereby defines an arc-shaped outer contour when viewed in cross-section, while the pipe section has a cylindrical inner surface and thereby viewed in cross-section defines a straight line which defines the touched arc-shaped outer contour.
- a further advantageous embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the pipe section of the drain element has inlet channels on the inside, which are starting from the inlet opening of the pipe section, extend substantially vertically in the direction of the sealing wall and end above a sealing surface defined by the sealing wall.
- the inlet channels are preferably radially molded into the inside of the pipe section.
- the sealing membrane and the height of the holder are dimensioned such that in the assembled state of the odor trap device an essentially hollow cylindrical section of the sealing membrane extends from the lower edge of the sealing membrane into an inlet funnel formed on the drainage element.
- a further advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the essentially hollow cylindrical section of the sealing membrane, with a rounded transition of the inlet funnel in the direction of the pipe section, delimits an annular inlet channel which tapers towards zero when viewed in the direction of the outlet.
- the annular inlet channel is preferably expanded radially and axially by the above-mentioned, essentially vertically extending inlet channels.
- a further advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the sealing membrane is fixed to a projection of the holder, the projection being arranged on the top of the holder and having an annular groove or undercut to which the sealing membrane is buttoned in a sealing manner.
- the sealing membrane can be easily and reliably sealed to the holder and, if necessary, detached for maintenance purposes.
- the projection of the holder, on which the sealing membrane is fixed is preferably plate-shaped or button-shaped, the projection defining an annular groove in which the sealing membrane engages in a sealing manner.
- the holder has a curved or spherical segment-shaped section on which the sealing membrane rests. This configuration improves the dimensional stability of the sealing membrane in its closed position.
- the holder has support legs which are arranged at a distance from the inner surface of the sealing membrane and protrude downward relative to a lower edge of the sealing membrane.
- the holder preferably has at least three such support legs, which are preferably evenly spaced from one another.
- the support legs are connected to one another by cross struts in accordance with a further embodiment.
- the cross struts are preferably arranged below the lower edge of the sealing membrane in the fully assembled state of the odor trap device.
- the support legs have a leg section that is angled outwards or runs obliquely outwards.
- a further embodiment of the odor trap device according to the invention is characterized in that the tube piece has recesses into which the holder engages.
- the support legs preferably protrude outward from the cross struts and define projections which engage in the recesses of the pipe section.
- the recesses are preferably formed as downwardly open recesses on the lower edge of the pipe section.
- a hood-shaped or cap-shaped cover is arranged above the drain element and is detachably connected to the drain element (directly or indirectly) via spacers.
- the cover can have a positive influence on the visual appearance and the hygienic impression given by the odor trap device.
- the odor trap device can be easily adapted in color to various sanitary ceramic colors by the cover.
- the cover can also be made in a contrasting color or have a metallic, for example chrome-plated surface.
- the cover is preferably designed such that it laterally projects beyond the drain element along its entire outer circumference.
- the cover With a flange-shaped part of the odor trap device, for example an adapter that can be inserted or screwed into a profile seal, the cover can define an annular gap as a drainage gap for urine or another liquid.
- a further embodiment of the odor trap device according to the invention is characterized in that the pipe section is inserted into a pipe section extension, the pipe section extension being detachably connected to the pipe section and / or the drainage element.
- a flow resistance can be provided by the pipe section extension, by means of which a storage zone for the liquid is created. If the liquid column in this storage zone is sufficiently high, the liquid pressure rises to such an extent that the liquid will flow out of this zone. Due to the gravity of the flowing liquid, a suction effect is created, which pulls the liquid above the sealing surface of the odor trap faster down into the pipe section extension.
- the pipe section extension can preferably have a baffle or deflection element at its lower end, which acts as a flow resistance.
- the impact or deflecting element is, for example, curved or conical, wherein the tip of the curved element or cone points upwards.
- the impact or deflection element can be connected to a hollow cylindrical section of the pipe section extension via a plurality of essentially vertically extending retaining webs.
- a further advantageous embodiment of the pipe section extension is characterized in that the impact or deflection element is formed from a tab-shaped extension of the pipe section extension, this extension protruding downward from the lower end of the tubular section of the pipe section extension and being angled obliquely in the direction of the pipe center axis.
- the impact or deflection element is preferably essentially disc-shaped. This configuration is advantageous in terms of simple, inexpensive manufacture of the pipe section extension and the impact or deflection element.
- the pipe section extension is preferably essentially straight. In this case, it requires little space in radial terms for its arrangement in a sanitary object, in particular a urinal.
- a further embodiment of the pipe section extension provides that it has a shoulder on the inside on which the holder is supported. This configuration creates a simple possibility for axially fixing the holder.
- the shoulder can also serve to axially fix the pipe section of the drainage element.
- the paragraph is preferably designed as a circumferential paragraph.
- these have locking elements assigned to one another.
- the locking elements can preferably be locked together by a rotary movement of the drainage element relative to the pipe extension.
