Description

The invention relates to a furniture panel which has a surface coated with a film-like decorative material on at least one side and has a mitred edge, the edge surface of which forms an acute angle α with the coated surface, at least part of the edge surface is formed by a prism which is formed via a The film hinge is connected to the remaining part of the furniture board and is folded back onto this remaining part, a joint formed between the prism and the remaining part forming an angle β <α with the coated surface and an angle γ = α - β with the edge surface.

Such furniture panels are used, for example, as side walls or as upper or lower floors of furniture and usually have a core made from a wood material, for example from chipboard or MDF. The decorative material is often wood veneer, but often also plastic films or other sheet materials such as leather fiber.

The mitered edge makes it possible to miter the furniture board with another similar furniture board, so that the two boards are oriented, for example, at right angles to one another when the angle between the coated surface and the edge surface is 45 °. The surface coated with the decorative material is mostly the outer surface of a furniture body. At the miter joint between the panels connected to one another, the decorative materials of the two panels then collide and form a visible joint, which often has an unsatisfactory appearance and / or can be easily damaged.

Out US 2014291262 A1 a furniture panel of the type mentioned is known.

The object of the invention is to make the edges of the plate more visually appealing and to protect them against damage.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that the furniture board has a core which is formed by two layers of material lying one on top of the other and is coated with the decorative material on the outsides of these material layers and on a blunt edge of the plate, the decorative material forming a continuous path which the two material layers and a prism arranged between them are fastened in such a way that the two material layers and the prism are connected via film hinges that are formed by the decorative material, the material layers being chamfered so that they together form a cavity receiving the prism, and that the prism at the miter edge is only in contact with one of the two material layers.

The decorative material is pulled neatly around the pointed edge of the furniture board and continues on the part of the edge surface formed by the prism when the prism is folded back onto the main part of the furniture board. After the miter connection has been made, the edges of the decorative materials are turned inwards and fixed in the miter joint. The edges of the decorative material webs are thus invisible and protected against damage, and a clean joint is created at the edge of the furniture body, at which the decorative material webs are only folded over but not interrupted.

Advantageous configurations and developments of the invention are given in the subclaims.

In an advantageous embodiment, the angle α is 45 °, so that a right-angled miter corner can be formed, and the angle β is α / 2 = 22.5 °.

The furniture board can also have two or more mitered edges running at right angles to one another, all of which can be designed according to the invention.

An exemplary embodiment is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing.

In the Fig. 1 The furniture board 10 shown has a core 12 made of a rigid wood material, for example MDF boards, which is coated with a film-like decorative material 20 on opposite sides 14, 16 and on a miter edge 18 connecting these sides. The decorative material can be, for example, plastic film or a leather fiber material.

The core 12 has two material layers 22, 24 lying on top of one another and glued together. The decorative material 20 forms a path which extends continuously over the side 16 and part of the miter edge 18 and forms a film hinge 26 at the transition to the surface of the miter edge.

The material layer 24 has on the miter edge 18 a bevel 28 which forms an acute angle β = 22.5 ° with the side 16 of this material layer coated with decorative material. The film hinge 26 connects this material layer 24 to a prism 30 with a triangular cross-section, which is made of the same material as the core 12. At the corner located at the point of the film hinge 26, the triangle has an angle γ which is also 22.5 °. With the aid of the film hinge 26, the prism 30 is folded back onto the bevel 28 in such a way that the two angles β and γ add up to the angle α = 45 °. This is the angle that the surface of the miter edge 18 makes with the side 16.

The material layer 22 of the core is chamfered on the side 14 so that the mitred edge is completed. In the example shown, the bevel has been attached to the material layer 22 in such a way that it is not flush with the outer surface of the prism 30, but rather with the outer surface of the decorative material 20 with which this prism is coated. In this way, a flat edge surface is obtained at the miter edge 18, which allows a stable and precise miter connection with another furniture panel, for example a furniture panel which is structurally identical to the furniture panel 10 shown here.

Außerdem sieht man die beiden Flanken des auf die Fase 28 zurückgefalteten Prismas 30.In Fig. 2 a part of the furniture board 10 is shown in plan view. The material layer 22, which is coated with the decorative material on the side 14, covers most of the material layer 24 underneath, so that only the bevel 28 of the latter is visible. You can also see the two flanks of the prism 30 folded back onto the bevel 28.

In the example shown, an edge of the furniture board adjoining the miter edge 18 is also designed as a miter edge 18 '. This edge has the same structure as the miter edge 18 described above. At the corner which these two edges form with one another, the prisms 30 are beveled so that they do not overlap one another even in the folded-back state but rather form a wedge-shaped gap with one another.

On the other hand, an edge 32 of the furniture board opposite the miter edge 18 'is designed as a blunt edge, ie its edge surface runs at right angles to the sides 14 and 16. The structure of this edge is shown in Fig. 3 shown in section. The material layers 22 and 24 of the core are each chamfered at an angle of 45 ° at this edge, and the resulting gap is filled by a right-angled isosceles prism 34. The decorative material forms two film hinges 36 which connect the base of the prism 34 to the sides 14 and 16 of the plate. The decorative material 20 thus forms a continuous material web with which the furniture panel is coated on the sides 14 and 16, on the edge surface of the blunt edge 32 and at least on parts of the miter surfaces of the edges 18 and 18 '.

When manufacturing the in Figs. 1 and 2 The furniture panel 10 shown can, for example, proceed as follows.

As Fig. 4 shows, a plate 38 is glued to a suitable cut of the decorative material 20, which later forms the material layers 22 and 24 of the core as well as the prisms 30 and 34. In Figures 4 and 5 the cutting plane runs at right angles to the edge that is later to form the miter edge 18. In the in Fig. 4 In the state shown, the edge of the plate 38 is flush with the edge of the decorative material 20 at this edge.

As Fig. 5 shows, a V-shaped groove is then milled in the plate 38 parallel to the miter edge 18, whereby this plate is divided into the material layer 24 and the prism 30 becomes. The bottom of the groove extends as far as the decorative material 20 and exposes a narrow strip of this decorative material which forms the film hinge 26 there. The flanks of the groove form the bevel 28 and one side of the prism 30. The material layer 22 is formed by a part of the plate 38, which is shown in FIG Fig. 5 lies behind the part which forms the material layer 24 in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the drawing. The V-shaped groove can be milled continuously through the entire plate, whereby the material layer 22 also has a bevel on the side that is in Fig. 1 forms the bottom.

The walking edge 18 'can be produced in a corresponding manner.

To produce the blunt edge 32, two parallel V-shaped grooves are milled into the plate 38 along this edge. This divides the plate into layers of material 24 and 22 and prism 34 as in FIG Fig. 6 is shown. In order to also form the edge surfaces of the miter edges 18 and 18 'on the material layer 22, the material layer 22 must also be machined on the side that is shown in FIG Fig. 6 forms the bottom. This processing (milling a 45 ° bevel) can either take place before the material layers are folded over or, if necessary, only afterwards, provided that it is ensured that the milling tool does not damage the surface of the decorative material on the prism 30.
