Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a device for making beverages having a foam or froth detection apparatus which detects level of overflowing of liquids or solid-liquid mixtures that tend to overflow during the cooking process, and thus ensures controlling thereof.
  • the first one is those solutions wherein the amount of the mixture to be cooked is known and a heat transfer, determined based on the said amount, is controlled during the process which is so-called input-controlled products.
  • An example of the input-controlled automatic products is device wherein the heater may be controlled by a NTC temperature sensor.
  • Second solution for automatic products is those products that may monitor outputs such as foam/cream formed at the end of the cooking process. These products may be defined as output-controlled products. In all manual and automatic products, if the cooking process is performed in an uncontrolled manner, the overflowing hot liquid may damage the product and the environment.
  • All existing electrical and non-electrical coffeepots and similar appliances may be given as examples to manual controlled products.
  • manual products the user should constantly stand over the product during the cooking process and control the cooking progress thereof. This may result in a loss of time for the user while requiring that in order to make coffee by himself and to enjoy it, the user should known how to behave at which temperature values or at which instant of foaming of the said liquid.
  • An example of the input-controlled automatic products is device wherein the heater may be controlled by a NTC temperature sensor.
  • the content and amount of the mixture to be cooked should necessarily be controlled.
  • the amount of the liquid to be produced should be detected by the cooker/device or should be measured and put into the product by the user. This requires additional measuring pots/cups, dosing components or sensors.
  • the heat transfer that takes place during the cooking process should be controlled. A certain amount of heat is required for the mixture to be sufficiently cooked. If the said heat transfer is low, the mixture is not heated properly and if it is high, the mixture may overflow.
  • the main variable that affects heat transfer is the power of the heater.
  • the power of the heater is directly dependent upon the voltage value of the mains supply. If voltages are locally varied, the power of the heater changes and above-mentioned problems may arise.
  • Such parameter i.e. variances in mains voltages, which is difficult to control, negatively affects the cooking efficiency. In order to control the mains voltage, expensive additional equipment may be needed.
  • output-controlled automatic products in order for the mixture that is being cooked to operate irrespective of the amount and heat control, sensors are used which detect visual change of the foam and are of high-cost.
  • conductivity is controlled at low voltage by means of the conductors fixedly disposed in the product so as to control the level of overflowing.
  • said fixed conductive terminals may standardly operate on the basis of certain amount of mixtures or cup-wise, and it becomes hard or impossible to provide control at high or low amount of mixtures.
  • a prior art reference, among many others, relevant to the technical field of the present invention is the WO2007077106 (Al) publication. It discloses controlling of the boiling of the liquid in the coffeepot and the rising of the foam using ultrasonic and infrared sensors. It is also disclosed to use an integrated sensor structure. Still, German Patent No. DE10230951 (Al) may be given as another example of prior art patent documents. It discloses that a relevant terminal of a LED is embedded on side walls of a coffeepot or a similar container, and it is stated that a circuit is completed via a liquid so that the relevant LEDs are activated. Since such foam detection sensors are integrated with a fixed container, it may be hard to clean the residue and contamination of the mixture. Furthermore, since these fixed structures are embedded into the pieces during the manufacturing process, they are considered as expensive structures that are difficult to use in real life and to manufacture. Moreover, in case a failure is experienced in these sensors, it is quite difficult to repair the product.
  • the main object of the invention relates to a device with foam detection apparatus which is easily arranged and which practically detects an output of foam or cream to control the cooking process thereof.
  • Another object of the invention relates to a device with foam detection apparatus which not only detects foam or cream, but also may optionally control the level and amount of the foam/cream, thanks to its movable and modular structure.
  • Another object of the present invention is to provide a device for making beverages such as espresso, coffee, cappuccino, latte, filtered water, or tea for human consumption and enjoyment, wherein overflowing is prevented during boiling in an efficient manner.
  • Another object of the present invention is to provide a device which is fully automatic that improves the quality and quantity of the foam as well as the temperature of the beverages independent of the operator's skill.
  • Another object of the present invention is to provide a device for preparing beverages with the desired consistency, wherein overflowing of is prevented, and a control method.
  • Another object of the present invention relates to a device with foam detection apparatus which eliminates a restriction of existing products with a single and fixed conductive line on the number of cups or the amount of mixture, though it has a single conductive line that controls low voltage electrical transmission, and which, at the same time, does not require multiple conductive lines necessary for multiple amounts.
  • the present invention relates to a device for making beverages comprising a container wherein liquid or liquid mixture is put to be heated; at least one heating assembly that provides heating the container; an electronic control card for controlling the heating assembly; a conductive member associated with the electronic control card.
