Definitions

  • the invention relates to a lip-operated closure for a drinking bottle, a drinking cup or another drinking container.
  • Drink containers with a lip-operated closure allow for spill-free storage of hot or cold drinks.
  • the closure is opened by selectively actuating the closure using the lips, so that liquid can flow from the drinking container into the mouth opening between the lips. If the closure is not actuated, it is closed and prevents the liquid from escaping from the drinking container.
  • the EP 1 123 027 B1 describes a lip-operated closure for a drinking container, which has a base body with an upwardly widening, conical first wall for attaching the lower lip, a shoulder running around the inner circumference with a valve seat on the underside and, further down, an internal thread that extends to the lower end for screwing on has an external thread of the drinking container.
  • a closure body is arranged in the base body, which has an upwardly widening conical second wall for attachment of the upper lip and at the lower end of the conical section a middle plate made of a flexible elastomer with a flange on the outer edge.
  • the flange is stiffened by a stiffening element and held on a carrier in the form of a spoked wheel, which in turn is held on the drinking container or on the base body, so that the flange seals against the valve seat.
  • a stiffening element By pressing together the lips resting against the conical walls, the center plate and flange are deformed and the sealing contact of the second sealing surface against the first sealing surface is partially broken, so that liquid can escape through free spaces between the spokes of the carrier and through a gap between the closure body and the base body.
  • Disadvantages are the complex construction with a carrier for the closure body, the effort for assembly, disassembly and Cleaning and possible leakage especially due to repeated elastic deformation of center plate and flange.
  • the EP 2 138 075 A1 describes a drinking container with a lip-operated closure in which a support in the form of a spoked wheel is screwed into the top of the container.
  • the spokes of the spoked wheel are designed as leaf springs with a loop extending downwards, so that a central hole of the spoked wheel can be tilted with respect to the drinking container and, after relief, returns to the starting position due to the spring action of the leaf springs.
  • a plate-shaped actuator is inserted into the central hole of the bracket with a lug projecting centrally from the underside. Below the carrier, a plate-shaped sealing element is held on the attachment by means of a flexible retaining ring.
  • the sealing element seals with its outer edge against a sealing seat on the lower edge of the outer ring of the carrier screwed into the container.
  • the actuating element pivots the sealing element as a result of lip actuation, liquid can flow out through a gap opened thereby between the sealing element and the outer ring of the carrier, free spaces between the spokes of the carrier and a gap between a housing ring fixed at the top of the container and the actuating element.
  • this lip-actuated closure too, the complex construction made up of carrier, actuating element, sealing element, securing ring and housing ring and the assembly, disassembly and cleaning effort associated therewith are disadvantageous.
  • FR3025411 a children's cup with a liquid container having a closable opening.
  • the invention is based on the object of creating a more user-friendly and securely sealing, lip-actuated closure for a drinking container.
  • the lower lip is attached to the upper end of the base body and the upper lip to the upper end of the closure body and pressing together of the upper lip and lower lip of the closure body tiltable against the action of the spring element with respect to the base body.
  • the second sealing surface is partially lifted off the first sealing surface and a gap becomes free between the first and second sealing surfaces.
  • liquid can escape through the liquid inlet of the base body, the opening between the first and second sealing surface, the first annular gap, the through-channels and the second annular gap between the base body and the closure body.
  • the closure can be realized using fewer components with a simple shape. In particular, it is possible to produce the closure body including the at least one spring element in one piece.
  • a support for the closure body can be dispensed with, since it can be held on the projection by the spring element and annular disk. This also simplifies the manufacture, assembly and disassembly and cleaning of the closure. If the lips are not actuated, the spring element presses the second sealing surface evenly and reliably against the first sealing surface in a sealing manner. In order to break the seal, the entire ring disk can be tilted, in which case it is not deformed and only the spring element is deformed. As a result, the seal is not compromised by repeated opening and deformation of the sealing disc.
  • the projection running around the inner circumference of the base body is in the form of a circular ring. This facilitates assembly and disassembly as well as cleaning of the closure.
  • a first sealing lip running around in the circumferential direction projects downwards from the first sealing surface for sealing on the inside of the mouth of a drinking container. This achieves a particularly reliable sealing of the closure on the drinking container.
  • the base body below the projection has at least one screw thread, element of a bayonet lock, Element of a locking connection or a cylindrical surface for welding or gluing with a drinking container.
  • the closure can be connected to a drinking container which has a structure complementary to the aforementioned structures, ie at least one complementary screw thread, element of a bayonet closure, element of a snap-in connection or cylindrical surface for welding or gluing to the closure.
  • the base body is designed in one piece with a drinking container, so that the base body forms an upper section of the drinking container.
  • the base body has, above the projection, a first conical wall which is widened towards the upper end.
  • the first conical wall is advantageous for the application of the lips to operate the closure.
  • the base body has a first cylindrical wall extending from the lower end. This is advantageous for attachment to the drinking container.
  • the through-channels have a plurality of radially extending grooves in the seating surface of the projection which are spaced apart from one another in the circumferential direction. This favors liquid removal by applying the lips to freely selectable positions on the circumference of the closure.
  • in continuation of the radially extending grooves there are axially extending grooves along the inner edge of the projection. The axially extending grooves facilitate the passage of liquid between the inner edge of the projection and the valve body.
  • the closure body is closed at the lower end by a circular disc which has the second sealing surface on an edge section protruding radially outwards from the closure body. This stabilizes the washer and improves the seal.
  • At least one second sealing lip running around in the circumferential direction projects upwards from the second sealing surface.
  • the second sealing lip lies against the first sealing surface in a sealing manner. This further improves the sealing of the closure.
  • the spring element is connected to the closure body in the manner of bellows at an upper end and sits on the seat surface at a lower end.
  • This embodiment is advantageous for the manufacture, assembly and disassembly and cleaning of the closure.
  • the bellows-like spring element is tubular, with the wall in longitudinal section having a zigzag or wave-like course with at least one reversal of direction, preferably in a fold. As a result, the spring element can deflect and rebound over long spring travels under the action of little force.
  • the passage channels are advantageously formed by radially extending grooves in the seating surface of the projection which are spaced apart from one another in the circumferential direction.
  • each spring element has a bending spring that is inclined at an acute angle to the seat surface, which rests on the seat surface at one end and is connected to the closure body at the other end.
  • each spring element has two or more spiral springs which are arranged in a zigzag shape and are each connected to one another at one end, with the lowermost spiral spring being supported on the seat surface at its lower end and the uppermost spiral spring being connected to the closure body at its upper end is.
  • the passage channels are arranged between the spring elements which are spaced apart from one another.
  • the closure body has a second cylindrical wall at the bottom, which is connected to the annular disk at the lower end and is connected at the top to a second conical wall which widens towards the upper end and is connected to the at least one spring element on the outside.
  • This embodiment is easy to assemble and disassemble.
  • the second conical wall facilitates the actuation of the closure by means of the lips.
  • This embodiment is particularly advantageous in combination with a first conical wall at the upper end of the base body.
  • the second conical wall has a lower second conical wall section with a large cone angle at the bottom and an upper second conical wall section with a small cone angle adjacent thereto.
  • the small cone angle is smaller than the large cone angle.
  • the cone angle of the upper second conical wall section matches the cone angle of the first conical wall of the base body or deviates from it by a maximum of ⁇ 20%, preferably by a maximum of ⁇ 10%. This is advantageous for lip operation.
  • the spring element is connected to the closure body in the connection area of the lower second conical wall section and the upper second conical wall section. This is advantageous for the uniform support and tiltability of the closure body at different circumferential positions of the closure.
  • the spring element has at the lower edge a bead which extends in the circumferential direction and sits on the seat surface.
  • the bead makes it easier for the spring element to slide over the seat surface when the closure body is tilted. This makes it easier to open the closure and avoids damage.
  • the base body is made of a rigid material. According to a further embodiment, the base body is injection molded. According to another embodiment, the closure body is made of an elastomeric material. According to a preferred embodiment, the closure body is made of silicone, a thermoplastic elastomer, latex or another elastomer.
