Definitions
- the present invention relates to a device for coating a surface of an annular turbomachine casing, with an abradable layer obtained by polymerization of a resin.
- the state of the art includes in particular documents FR-A-2,339,741, US-A-3,346,175 and EP-A1-2,202,264.
- a turbomachine comprises at its upstream end (with reference to the flow of gas in the turbomachine) a fan comprising a paddle wheel which is surrounded by a housing, called retention housing because of its blade retention function in case of rupture of these.
- the impellers of a turbomachine are surrounded by a stator which carries an annular coating of abradable material.
- the coating extends around and at short radial distance from the blades, which can in operation rub against the material and wear it by friction. This makes it possible to optimize the radial clearances between the blades and the stator which surrounds it and thus to limit the gas leaks at the vertices or radially external ends of the vanes.
- the fan blades are surrounded by an abradable layer which covers an inner annular surface of the housing.
- this abradable layer is obtained by spreading a polymerizable resin on the surface.
- This resin is hammered manually to evacuate the air bubbles as much as possible and to press the resin on the crankcase.
- the finishing is done by calendering made by passing a rule of form without possible control of the force imposed.

- These scraping means may be carried by the automaton 24 or connected. to the frame 22 so as to be movable between at least two positions, a first non-functional storage position and a second functional position.
- the frame 22 also comprises means 74 for fixing the carriage 20 so as to be able to immobilize the carriage vis-à-vis the frame and vice versa.
- These fastening means 74 are, for example, hook latches, which are better visible in FIG.
- the frame 22 also comprises centering means 75 intended to cooperate with the carriage 20. It may further comprise at least one presence sensor of the carriage.
- the frame 22 also comprises means 76 for retaining the housing 10 with respect to the frame 20 so as to prevent movements of the casing with respect to the frame in directions parallel to the axis A.
- These retaining means 76 include for example rollers some (rear) are immobile and the others (before) are movable between a locking position and retaining the housing, visible in Figures 5 and 1 1, and an unlocking position and release of the housing to allow his movement.
- the frame 22 further comprises means 78 for cutting the resin and the plastic film, such as those shown in FIG. 13.
- These cutting means 78 comprise a blade 80 which is displaced in translation along the axis A to cut the resin and precisely define a circumferential end of the layer 18.
- the blade 80 has a height which is determined to cut the layer over its entire depth without coming into contact with the housing.
- a first step of the method consists of mounting two rings 38, 82 at the axial ends of the housing 10, respectively. These rings are intended to protect the housing 10 but also to allow its rotation via the wheel 40 and the pinion 36.
- the rings are removably attached to the flanges 12 of the housing 10 and are preferably sectorized to facilitate their assembly and disassembly.
- the ring 38 comprises an external annular toothing 84 configured to cooperate with the pinion 36 of the carriage.
- Each ring 38, 82 can cooperate with a pinion 36 of the carriage.
- Another step of the method consists in mounting lifting means 86 on the housing 10.
- These lifting means comprise means 88 for fixing the housing and for example the stiffeners 14 of the housing 10 and lifting slings 90.
- the casing 10 is equipped with two diametrically opposed fixing means 88 connected respectively to two slings 90.
- the casing 10 is moved to a position in which its axis of revolution A is substantially horizontal. It is brought above the carriage 20 and lowered until the housing rests on the rollers 34 of the carriage 20. During this step, the carriage is preferably stationary and its brakes 44 are preferably actuated.
- the slings 90 are detached and the carriage 2 can then be moved by means of the wheel 42 on the rails (not shown), to a position where the carriage can be immobilized with respect to the frame 22 by means of the latches 74. of Figure 10.
- the housing 10 is supported on the fixed rollers 76 of the frame and some equipment and accessories of the frame 22 and the controller 24 are found at least partly inside the housing, as this is visible in Figure 9.
- the movable rollers 76 are folded to block the housing 10 vis-à-vis the frame 22. Part of the plastic film of the roll 64 is stretched by an operator and slid between the rollers 60 and the surface 16 to be lined with the housing 10.
- the brakes 46 of the carriage can then be released by the handle 48 so as to allow movement of the housing 10 in rotation about its axis A.
- the automaton 24 is then controlled to begin steps of resin preparation and resin deposition on the surface 16 to be coated housing 10 ( Figure 14).
- the cannula 58 can be moved several times along the axis A from front to back and back to forward to deposit cords of resin on the surface 16.
- the resin will initially come to contact of the plastic film and then will be layered by the pressure generated by the series of rollers 60.
- the layer 18 has a uniform thickness and is preferably free of air bubbles ( Figure 14).
- the cutting means 78 of FIG. 13 are located at a distance from the rollers 60 in order not to hinder the spreading operation of the resin.
- the cutting means are for example located 70 ° from the cannula 58 in the clockwise direction.
- the free end of the layer corresponding to the end of the removal can be cut to define another perfectly straight end edge.
- the two end edges of the layer corresponding to the beginning and the end of the removal of the resin are at an angular distance from one another, for example a few centimeters.
- This gap can be filled manually with resin to ensure a perfect finish and a perfect seal between these end edges.
- This seal is preferably located on the housing at 12 o'clock, by analogy with the dial of a clock. It is therefore understood that the steps of rotating the housing, deposition of resin on the surface of the housing, and spreading of the resin by means of the plastic film, are stopped before a complete rotation of the housing.
- the housing 10 can then be stored in a location conducive to the complete polymerization of the resin.
- FIGS 15a to 15c illustrate a preferred embodiment of the rollers of the spreading means of the device or the installation according to the invention. They are here of three different types, each type having at least one roller.
- Figure 15a illustrates a first type of roll.
- the roller 60a namely the roller which is intended to come first in contact with the resin after it has been deposited on the housing, is configured to spread the resin and to compress it.
- the roller 60a thus applies pressure against the resin to force it against the housing. This is made possible by the fact that the resin thickness deposited upstream of the roll is greater than the air gap between the roll and the housing.
- the roller 60a has a length and a diameter determined so that its longitudinal ends are in abutment and roll on the housing, preferably on peripheral tracks provided on either side of an annular groove for receiving the resin.
- the first roll preferably has a cylindrical outer surface. It is for example made of aluminum.
- Figure 15b illustrates a second type of roll.
- the second roll 60b and preferably each of the rollers 60b disposed between the first roll and the last roll, is configured to remove excess resin deposited in the groove. This is made possible by the fact that the roll 60b has a rounded cylindrical shape in the middle. In other words, the outer surface of the roller 60b has in axial section a concave curved shape whose convexity is oriented radially outwards.
- the maximum diameter of the roll, halfway from its longitudinal ends, is determined for example so that a portion of the roll enters the groove, and the minimum diameter of the roll, at its ends, is determined to leave a clearance between the roller and the aforementioned tracks for the evacuation towards the ends of the roll of surplus resin aforementioned.
- the second roller is for example made of plastic, such as PTFE.
- Figure 15c illustrates a last or third type of roll.
- the last roller 60c namely the roller which is intended to come last in contact with the resin (the third roller when the spreading means comprises only three rolls), is configured to calibrate the inner diameter of the resin coating.
- the roll 60c is similar to the roll 60a.
- the roller 60c has a length and a diameter determined so that its longitudinal ends are supported and roll on the housing on the aforementioned tracks. It preferably has a cylindrical outer surface. It is for example made of aluminum.
