Definitions
- the present invention relates to a sole construction for a flexible shoe with a soft, elastic midsole that at least partially comes into contact with the ground when walking, which has channel-shaped elements with a flat bottom that are oriented transversely to its longitudinal direction, protrude downwards toward the ground, and are open at the sides. Furthermore, the midsole has an edge strip that bridges the channel-shaped elements, which narrows the cross-section of the channels in the channel-shaped elements and determines the height of the lateral openings of the channel-shaped elements.
- the outward-facing end faces of the channel-shaped elements are provided with horizontal predetermined folding notches. Under the action of vertical and/or longitudinal forces occurring when walking, the channel-shaped elements are deformable vertically and/or longitudinally until the closure of their lateral openings in the area of the edge strip.
- the object of the invention is to further functionally improve a sole construction of the type mentioned at the outset.
- the sole construction according to the invention is characterized in that the predetermined folding notches have a vertical width corresponding to the height of the lateral openings of the channel-shaped elements and are aligned with the lateral openings of the channel-shaped elements.
- the effect of the predetermined folding notches according to the invention is considerably more pronounced, locally concentrated and the deformation is therefore more pronounced than with the large number of grooves over a larger area which is possible on known sole construction.
- the grooves of the known sole construction also facilitate the deformation of the channel-shaped elements, they tend to support a deformation that is uniformly distributed over their height, similar to the bellows of an accordion. Under oblique loading, mainly only one flank of the channel-shaped elements is compressed, resulting in a deformation of their flat bottoms with bulging. In the embodiment according to the invention, the trough-shaped elements tend to shear even if the load is only slightly inclined, while largely retaining their flat bottom shape without bulging.
- the predetermined folding notches can have a depth which corresponds to 2.0 - 8.0 mm, preferably one third of their vertical width.
- the midsole can be efficiently manufactured in one piece by injection molding.
- the shoe shown denotes 10 the upper part enclosing the foot and 20 a soft elastic middle sole of a sole construction according to the invention. While largely dispensing with an outsole, the midsole 20 is partially in direct contact with the ground. In 1 only the midsole 20 is visible from the sole construction.
- the midsole 20 has a plurality of channel-shaped elements which extend transversely to the longitudinal direction, are approximately the same width and are arranged approximately evenly distributed. Only one of these items is in 1 labeled 21.
- a rim 23 results in a reinforcement of the channel-shaped elements 21 on the outside.
- the rim 23 frames an in 1 invisible, incompressible but elastically flexible plate which is embedded approximately at the height of the upper edge of the skirt 23 flush with this upper edge between the upper 10 and the midsole 20 and is connected to these parts.
- the plate is only about 2 mm thick, so that the clear height of the grooves in the groove-shaped elements 21 within the frame created by the edge strip 23 is about twice as large as the height of the lateral openings 24 below the edge strip 23.
- the edge strip 23 bridges the channel-shaped elements 21 on the outside, narrowing their cross section.
- the midsole 20 is stiffened by the plate framed by the edge strip 23, the plate essentially determining the integral, elastic flexibility of the sole construction.
- the rather local, elastic flexibility is determined by the channel-shaped elements 21 of the midsole 20.
- the channel-shaped elements 21 are each provided with a horizontal predetermined folding notch 25 on their front and rear flanks.
- the desired folding notches 25 have a vertical width approximately corresponding to the height of the lateral openings 24 and are aligned both with one another and with the lateral openings 24 at the same height.
- the predetermined folding notches 25 have a depth which corresponds to 2.0-8.0 mm, but preferably one third of their vertical width. In 1 For example, the creases of weakness are shown rounded, but they could be v-shaped.
- the thickness of the channel-shaped elements tends to decrease from the heel area to the ball area.
- the wall thickness of the channel-shaped elements 21 also decreases from the heel area to the ball area.
- the channel-shaped elements 21 are also somewhat thicker at the front than at the back, in the metatarsal area at the front and at the back about the same thickness and in the ball of the foot area at the front somewhat thinner than at the back.
- the bottoms 27 of the channel-shaped elements 21 are each flat, both on their upper side in the channels and on their underside. Together with the edge strip 23 and the slightly inclined flanks of the channels, this results in approximately trapezoidal cross sections for the lateral openings 24.
- the mutual spacing of the channel-shaped elements 21 is chosen so large in the longitudinal direction of the shoe that they individually by shearing in this direction up to Closure of their side openings 24 are deformable by flat filing. This type of deformation is significantly promoted or supported by the predetermined folding notches 25 .
- a longitudinal slot 22 in the midsole 20 extends from the heel area to the ball area almost over the entire length of the shoe, whereby the midsole 20 is divided into a medial and a lateral part. The two parts are only connected to each other at the back of the shoe and at the front of the shoe toe.
- the longitudinal slot 22 results in pairs of channel-shaped elements 21 which are arranged next to one another on the lateral and medial sides and can be deformed independently of one another.
- the longitudinal slot 22 is bent in itself and arranged in such a way that the channel-shaped elements 21 are shorter medially than laterally in the heel area and metatarsal area and longer medially than laterally in the ball of the foot area.
- the rolling characteristics of the sole construction can be influenced and adjusted by the shape and position of the longitudinal slit.
- the downwardly open indentations between the channel-shaped elements 21 and the longitudinal slot 22 preferably widen somewhat downwards, which counteracts the jamming of stones, for example, and supports the self-cleaning of the sole construction.
- the channel-shaped elements 21 subjected to the greatest loads in the heel and ball area are provided with thin layers of hard-elastic material such as rubber, with 2 only one of these supports shown with an oblique ribbing is denoted by 30. At the remaining channel-shaped elements 21, the material of the midsole 20 is directly exposed to ground contact.

Description
The present invention relates to a sole construction for a flexible shoe with a soft, elastic midsole that at least partially comes into contact with the ground when walking, which has channel-shaped elements with a flat bottom that are oriented transversely to its longitudinal direction, protrude downwards toward the ground, and are open at the sides. Furthermore, the midsole has an edge strip that bridges the channel-shaped elements, which narrows the cross-section of the channels in the channel-shaped elements and determines the height of the lateral openings of the channel-shaped elements. The outward-facing end faces of the channel-shaped elements are provided with horizontal predetermined folding notches. Under the action of vertical and/or longitudinal forces occurring when walking, the channel-shaped elements are deformable vertically and/or longitudinally until the closure of their lateral openings in the area of the edge strip.
It is favorable for these desired effects if the channel-shaped elements are laid down flat by shearing and the flat channel bottoms come to rest flat on the underside of the skirting board. This deformation behavior should be supported by the predetermined notches, which result in the known sole construction by several horizontal grooves arranged one above the other, which are arranged evenly distributed both at the level of the lateral openings of the channel-shaped elements and in the area of the edge strip.
The object of the invention is to further functionally improve a sole construction of the type mentioned at the outset.
This object is achieved according to the invention by a sole construction according to claim 1. The sole construction according to the invention is characterized in that the predetermined folding notches have a vertical width corresponding to the height of the lateral openings of the channel-shaped elements and are aligned with the lateral openings of the channel-shaped elements.
Due to their design with a large width and their arrangement in alignment with the lateral openings of the channel-shaped elements, the effect of the predetermined folding notches according to the invention is considerably more pronounced, locally concentrated and the deformation is therefore more pronounced than with the large number of grooves over a larger area which is possible on known sole construction.
Although the grooves of the known sole construction also facilitate the deformation of the channel-shaped elements, they tend to support a deformation that is uniformly distributed over their height, similar to the bellows of an accordion.
The predetermined folding notches can have a depth which corresponds to 2.0 - 8.0 mm, preferably one third of their vertical width.
Further preferred configurations of the sole construction according to the invention are specified in the dependent claims 2-4, although these configurations are also preferably present in the known sole construction.
The midsole can be efficiently manufactured in one piece by injection molding.
