A tumble dryer comprises a process air cycle in which a drying air is circulated during the execution of a drying process. The drying air is in this case passed through a container in which a laundry drum containing laundry to be dried is rotatably arranged and forms a portion of the process air cycle. The laundry drum is rotated during the drying process, whereby the laundry present in the laundry drum is moved. In particular lint and hair detach from the laundry and are taken away by the drying air. In order to prevent these impurities in the drying air from being reintroduced into the container or the washing drum in a closed process air circuit, it is known to filter out the impurities from the drying air by means of a filter. If the tumble dryer has a heat pump coupled thermally to the process air circuit, the filtering of the drying air can also ensure that heat exchangers of the heat pump are not contaminated and contaminated, which would be accompanied by a reduction in the efficiency of the heat pump.

Advantageous embodiments are given in the following description, the dependent claims and the figures of the accompanying drawing. Advantageous embodiments can be taken alone or in various combinations with each other a further education, in particular also preferred or advantageous, aspect of the invention.
A filter insert according to the invention for filtering process air in a device for treating laundry, in particular in a tumble dryer, comprises at least one filter bag which has at least one air inlet opening and at least one attaching unit which covers the air inlet opening in a non-destructively detachable manner and which is detachably connected to the filter bag for proper attachment of the filter insert on a component of the device, wherein the attachment unit has at least one air inlet portion, through which the process air enters the filter bag. Furthermore, the filter insert comprises two elastic and buckling-resistant rails, which are arranged on mutually opposite sections of the filter bag and the mutually facing sides each have at least one extending over at least part of the longitudinal extent of the respective rail connecting means which is non-destructively detachably connectable to the connecting means of the respective other rail. In addition, the filter insert comprises two guides arranged on a side of the attachment unit facing the filter bag, into each of which one of the rails is inserted and which run on mutually remote sides of the rails. Furthermore, the filter insert comprises at least one release element arranged between the guides, which is arranged relative to the guides so that it comes with an insertion of the interconnected via the connecting means rails in the guides between the rails and the rails apart, so that the interconnected connecting means are released from each other.
According to the invention, the filter bag may initially be closed before it is arranged on the attachment unit by connecting the connection means of the rails to one another. In this state, the two rails are substantially parallel to each other. For arranging the filter bag on the attachment unit, the rails are respectively inserted from an insertion region of the attachment unit into their own guide. In this case, the two rails come into contact with the release element, which is arranged on the side facing the filter bag side of the attachment unit and, for example, can be wedge-shaped. With progressive introduction of the rails in the guides between the rails, the release element passes between the rails and urges the rails apart or away from each other. As a result, the interconnected connecting means are released from each other and thus opened the filter bag. The guides are preferably designed such that they limit the opening of the filter bag to a certain extent after separation of the connecting means. For this purpose, the guides may be formed such that their distance from each other, starting from the insertion initially increased, then is approximately constant and finally reduced again. If the rails are introduced into the guides as intended, the filter bag may be opened such that its air inlet opening has an approximately elliptical cross-sectional area with two non-rounded ends on the main axis. The filter bag can thus be arranged in the filter insert according to the invention in a simple manner to the attachment unit by the rails are introduced into the guides of a person. The filter bag is opened automatically.
The filter insert according to the invention can be arranged only as a whole on a receptacle on the device, since the filter bag is to be arranged in the receptacle and it is thus not possible, arranged on the filter bag rails inserted into the receptacle filter bag by a movement of the filter bag into the Introduce guides on the attachment unit. In addition, due to a limited space, the attachment unit can not be moved relative to a filter bag inserted into the receptacle to thereby introduce the rails in the guides. Likewise, the filter cartridge according to the invention can only be removed as a whole from the receptacle on the device.
To detach the filter bag from the attachment unit, the filter bag can be moved in the direction of the insertion region of the attachment unit relative to the attachment unit. Here, the guides are formed and arranged relative to each other, that they currently press in the end region located portions of the two rails against each other before leaving the guides, that the connecting means of the rails are interconnected. As a result, the filter bag is automatically closed when pulling out the rails from the guides. In this way it can be prevented that impurities contained in the filter bag enter the environment during replacement, transport or storage of the filter bag. The filter bag can thus solve in the filter insert according to the invention in a simple manner from the attachment unit by the rails are pulled out of the guides by a person.
The two rails can be partially or completely made of a plastic. Due to the elastic design of the rails they can be introduced without much effort in the curved guides running and preferably assume a straight-line shape in an unloaded state. The buckling-resistant design of the rails prevents the rails from buckling when inserted into the guides, which would make insertion difficult. The fact that the rails are arranged on mutually opposite sections of the filter bag may in particular mean that the rails are arranged adjacent to the air inlet opening of the filter bag. The rails can at least partially extend the filter bag in the region of the air inlet opening. Preferably, the rails are sized so large that a person can carry the filter bag by engaging the rails without the carrying hand coming into contact with the filter bag.
The two guides can be formed by guide elements arranged on the underside of the attachment unit facing the filter bag, for example in the form of curved ribs or the like. The guide elements may, for example, be made of plastic, monolithic with the attachment unit.
The insertion side arranged between the guides release element is arranged on the filter bag facing the bottom of the attachment unit. The release element may be made, for example, of plastic, monolithic with the attachment unit. In order to arrive at an insertion of the rails connected to each other via the connecting means in the guides between the rails and to urge the rails apart, the release element is arranged in the insertion region of the attachment unit between the guides.
The filter insert according to the invention can be used for filtering process air in the form of a drying air in the apparatus for treating laundry. Such filtering of the process air may take place during a conventional drying process and / or a special drying process and / or a special filtering operation, for example for filtering out special contaminants, such as pollen, animal excretions and the like, outside a drying process. The filter insert can be used in particular in a tumble dryer or a washer-dryer for filtering process air.
The filter bag is made of a filter material suitable for the respective purpose, in particular fine filter material, for example a woven fabric, knitted fabric, fleece or the like. The filter bag may be suitable for filtering lint and / or hair and / or pollen and / or animal excretions and / or allergenic particles from the process air. The filter bag may be formed as a disposable bag, which is separated from a certain impurity level and / or a certain period of operation of the attachment unit and disposed of. Alternatively, the filter bag can be cleaned, in particular washable, formed, so that after a cleaning of the filter bag reuse of the filter bag is possible.
The attachment unit may be made of a plastic. The attachment unit may be designed so that it can be used over the life of the device. The attachment unit is non-destructively detachably connected to the filter bag via the connection between the rails fastened to the filter bag and the guides arranged on the attachment unit. The attachment unit is at least partially disposed upstream of the filter bag with respect to a process air flow through the filter insert, so that the process air passes into the filter bag via the at least one air guide section of the attachment unit. The air guiding section can have a sieve-like lattice structure, through which the process air can pass under the lowest possible flow resistance and which prevents other objects, in particular items of laundry, from entering the filter bag. The attachment unit can also have two or more corresponding air guide sections. Since the attachment unit covers the air inlet opening of the filter bag, the process air can enter the filter bag exclusively via the attachment unit. That the attachment unit is arranged for proper attachment of the filter cartridge to a component of the device, means that the attachment unit is supported on the component of the device and thereby holds the filter cartridge in the desired position. A support of the filter cartridge on the filter bag is not possible because it is flexible.
The filter insert according to the invention can serve as a replacement component for a conventional lint filter. In this respect, the filter insert can be inserted into a receptacle provided for the lint filter, for example on a front-side end shield of a conventional device. As a result, a conventional device can be retrofitted with a filter insert according to the invention.
According to an advantageous embodiment, the connecting means form a pressure closure or a sliding closure. In the case of a pressure closure, as is known, for example, from pressure-sealing bags, and a sliding closure (also known as slide closure), as is known, for example, from sliding closure bags, the mutually facing sides of the rails can each be provided with a closure strip which is at least partially deformed can interlock positively. Both a pressure seal and a sliding closure allow a nearly airtight sealing of the filter bag. This is special It is beneficial if the filter cartridge is used to filter out pollen or animal excreta or other allergenic particles from the process air, as these contaminants can cause allergic reactions to people in the area. Alternatively, the connecting means may for example form a hook and loop fastener or the like. The use of said types of closure allows easy opening and closing of the filter bag.
According to a further advantageous embodiment, the rails are integrally connected to the filter bag. The rails may for example be welded or glued to the filter bag. A purely cohesive connection between the rails and the filter bag has the advantage that no mechanical connection means are present, which could complicate the insertion of the rails in the guides.
According to a further advantageous embodiment, the filter insert comprises at least one locking element arranged on the attachment unit, which blocks the guides in an insertion region for the rails in a blocking position fixed to the attachment unit, the guides being brought together at an end region opposite the insertion region. If the blocking element is moved out of its blocking position, the insertion area is released on the attachment unit. Subsequently, either a closed filter bag, as described above, can be arranged on the attachment unit, or an opened filter bag arranged on the attachment unit can be removed or removed from the attachment unit. To locate the filter bag on the attachment unit, the rails are pushed into the guides until they stop at the end region. Subsequently, the blocking element can be brought into its blocking position, so that the rails are arranged together with the filter bag captive on the attachment unit.
According to a further advantageous embodiment, the rails between the end and the locking element located in its blocking position are clamped. For this, the length of the rails must be adjusted to the length of the guides. By clamping the rails, the rails seal against the guides. As a result, it can be reliably prevented that the process air flowing into the filter insert does not leave the filter insert via the filter bag or unfiltered the filter insert.
According to a further advantageous embodiment, the blocking element is fixed in its blocking position via at least one latching connection or at least one snap connection to the attachment unit. Such a connection can be formed in a simple manner, for example by a special shaping of the blocking element and the cooperating section of the attachment unit.
According to a further advantageous embodiment, the blocking element is movably connected to the attachment unit or a separate component. The blocking element may, for example, be movably or flap-like connected to the attachment unit via a film hinge connected monolithically to the attachment unit and the blocking element, or a separate joint. If the blocking element is designed as a separate component, it can be completely detached from the attachment unit.
According to a further advantageous embodiment, the filter insert comprises at least one spacing element arranged in the end region on the attachment unit, which is arranged between the rails at the end. The spacer may be made, for example, from a plastic, monolithic with the attachment unit. The spacer helps to ensure that the rails inserted into the guides remain separated from each other and slightly curved outwards.
According to a further advantageous embodiment, the filter insert comprises at least one handling means arranged on the attachment unit. A person may act on the handling means to insert the filter cartridge into a receptacle formed on the device and to remove the receptacle again. The handling means may be arranged or formed, for example as a trough, tab, loop, hole or the like on the attachment unit. The filter insert may also have two or more, in particular the same or different, handling means.
An apparatus according to the invention for treating laundry, in particular a tumble dryer, comprises at least one front-side shield, at least one process air circuit with an air shaft arranged on the end shield, on which a receptacle for receiving a filter insert is formed, and at least one filter element according to one of the aforementioned embodiments or any combination at least two of these embodiments with each other, wherein the filter insert is inserted as a whole into the receptacle and as a whole of the receptacle can be removed.
With the device, the advantages mentioned above with respect to the filter element are connected accordingly. The device can be set up, in particular, for drying wet and / or moist laundry using condensation drying. The device may be designed, for example, as a household appliance in the form of a tumble dryer or a washer-dryer. The device can be designed to carry out a special program, for example in the form of a time program, in order to be able to carry out a special filtering of the process air. In particular, in a conventional drying program or a special drying program or a special program, lint, pollen, hair, animal excretions and / or allergenic particles can be filtered out of the process air and collected in the filter bag which is moving from the laundry to the laundry in a laundry drum of the device to solve. In addition, particles that lead to unwanted odors can be filtered out of the process air and collected in the filter bag. The process air circuit is preferably formed closed. The device may have a heat pump coupled thermally to the process air circuit.
