Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a package, preferably of corrugated cardboard, with an octagonal outline, where n is a positive integer ⁇ 3.
  • Corrugated board packaging is increasingly being used to package heavy and heaviest goods. For example, plastic granulate packages have to withstand high loads due to the high mass of units transported on a pallet. On the one hand, on the one hand, hard-wearing plastic bags are frequently used, on the other hand, for cost and environmental reasons, attempts are made to use as little plastic as possible and to replace such high-load bags with corrugated board packaging.
  • Such a package according to the preamble of claim 1 is known from EP 1 225 130 A1 known.
  • This foldable packaging is very stable. However, it has been found that this packaging tends to be "round" in the upper or middle region immediately above the attachment of the floor parts at very large loads or loads, so they no longer has the optimum strength and more vulnerable in this area for tearing or tearing of the packaging material.
  • Another, octagonal, packaging is from the US 1,960,925 known, which serves for the presentation of the goods contained therein.
  • the formed as a ring side wall of the package slots are provided, are inserted into the tabs, which are each a part of the bottom of the package, to connect the bottom firmly to the side wall.
  • the present invention has for its object to provide a package that is even more resistant to tearing or tearing of the packaging material and beyond machine-assisted can be produced inexpensively.
  • portion of the package which extends from the bottom thereof upwardly beyond the retaining tabs, for example to a height of twice the height of the retaining tabs.
  • a package has a bottom which is arranged “below” or forms the underside of the package, and that a lid “top” - so on the top - placed on the packaging can be.
  • the terms “bottom” and “top” refer to the respective ends of the package regardless of how it is placed or disposed in the exact space.
  • Statements such as “right” and “left” refer to a vertical view of the drawing plane.
  • a package with an octagonal outline where n is a positive integer ⁇ 3, is preferably formed from corrugated cardboard. It comprises n interconnected, preferably single-piece, side wall portions (often referred to as "rings") and a bottom substantially perpendicular to the sidewall portions, at least one, preferably at least n / 2, of the sidewall portions at its end Floor facing, lower, end portion is firmly connected to a corresponding retaining tab of the soil.
  • the packaging according to the invention is characterized in that in the lower end portion of at least one fixedly connected side wall part at least one weakening section, which promotes the deformation behavior with respect to adjacent areas of the relevant side wall part, is provided.
  • the weakening portion is an area of the sidewall portion that is near, for example, a punch or a crimped portion, and thus causes an improvement in the deformation behavior by the presence of the crimped portion.
  • the weakening portion is not adjacent to the indentation or crimped portion, but is formed by the punched or indentation itself, so is an area within the outline of the side wall portion, as he without the presence of the

  • the lower end portion of the side wall portion on no continuous straight edge, but is recessed from below or provided with a downwardly open recess.
  • the indentation extends to a distance of at least 1 mm, preferably at least 5 mm, from the lower edge (more precisely from the lower edge of the side wall part, as would be formed if the indentation were not provided) of the respective side wall part away, wherein on at least one of the circumferential direction of the side wall portion related end of the respective end portion remains a web whose lower end forms the sole segment of the lower end portion a support surface for resting on the corresponding bottom.
  • at least one of the fixedly connected side wall parts on at least one side of each indentation has a portion which can be supported on the bottom of the packaging.
  • each recess extends over at least half, preferably at least 2/3, and more preferably at least 4/5, the side length of the lower end section.
  • each indent extends farther away from the lower edge in its center, which is related to the circumferential direction of the side wall parts, than at its edges, which are related to the circumferential direction of the side wall parts.
  • the side wall part in the middle is better deformable than at its edges, since the correspondingly shaped indentation in the middle protrudes further upwards than at their edges.
  • a tearing of the underside of the side wall portion can be prevented even more reliable when the adjoining the lower edge boundary line of each indentation is rounded.
  • each weakening section comprises a material crushing of the respective side wall part in a direction perpendicular to the main surface thereof, and additionally or alternatively, each weakening section comprises at least one section of reduced wall thickness.
  • a package with an octagonal outline where n is a positive integer ⁇ 3, is preferably formed from corrugated cardboard. It comprises n interconnected, preferably single-piece, side wall portions (often referred to as "rings") and a bottom substantially perpendicular to the sidewall portions, at least one, preferably at least n / 2, of the sidewall portions at its end Bottom-facing, lower, end portion is fixedly connected to a corresponding retaining tab of the bottom and the lower end portions of each side wall portion having a respective lower edge.

  • the ring ie, the side wall parts
  • the ring is attached to the bottom so that the bottom edge of the ring or at least the bottom edge of the respective fixed side wall parts at a distance of at least 1 mm, preferably at least 5 mm from the ground with the corresponding retaining tabs is firmly connected.
  • a foldable variant of the above inventive packaging is also possible. It is characterized in that n is even, preferably ⁇ 4, of the side wall parts in each case two side wall parts are substantially parallel to each other and in the circumferential direction of the package have the same side length, and the bottom at least one of the side wall parts substantially vertically alignable foldable Bottom part, often at least two and preferably n / 2 separate, to the side wall parts substantially vertically alignable foldable bottom parts, each sidewall part is fixedly connected at its the bottom part, the lower end portion with a corresponding foldable retaining tab of the corresponding bottom part.
  • the deformability of the ring can be even more improved in the aforementioned embodiments, if in each case one weakening section is provided in more than one of the fixedly connected side wall parts, for example in every second of the firmly connected side wall parts. It is understood that in general a maximum deformability of the ring can be achieved if all of the side wall parts fixedly connected to a corresponding folding retaining tab have a weakening section.
  • the respective weakening sections can each be formed in a simple manner, for example by punching or squeezing, and thus without great technical effort in the production of the packaging according to the invention, which enables the production in a simple and cost-effective manner.
