Definitions

  • the present invention relates generally to the field of electrical equipment which comprises so-called “insulation piercing” electrical connection elements making it possible to connect said equipment automatically (without tools) to the electrical supply wires coming from the network.
  • the invention finds a particularly advantageous application in the production of electrical terminals for outlets or electrical switching devices such as simple switches or two-way switches.
  • an “insulation piercing” electrical connection element is intended to make an electrical connection between an electrical device and an electrical wire comprising a conductive core surrounded by an insulating sheath.
  • the cutting edge of the insertion slot pierces the insulating sheath of the electrical wire and comes into contact with the conductive core of the electrical wire.
  • the slot for introducing the connection element must thus be flexible enough to allow easy insertion of the electric wire while maintaining sufficient pressure on the conductive core of this electric wire to ensure good electrical contact between the stripped core. wire and the cutting edge of the slot for introducing the connection element in order to have the lowest possible contact resistance and to avoid overheating.
  • connection element must ensure good transmission of the electric current from the electric wire thus connected to the electrical operating elements of the equipment provided with this electrical connection element.
  • connection element has a compact shape allowing its use in a small space.
  • connection element which however has the drawback of being made entirely from a material having high electrical conductivity, which makes it expensive to manufacture.
  • the document GB1276449 relates to a clamping member for connecting electrical conductors without stripping them first.
  • the latter member is defined as consisting of three tabs forming two clamping slots arranged side by side, which can be independent of each other both as regards the elastic properties of the material and its thickness.
  • the present invention proposes a novel electrical connection element in which the quantity of material having high electrical conductivity is reduced, which makes it particularly economical.
  • an electrical connection element according to claim 1.
  • the electrical connection element according to the invention thus allows the establishment of an electrical connection of good quality between the conductive wire and that of the two separate parts of the connection element which is made of the material having the highest electrical conductivity. higher, while being particularly economical to manufacture.
  • connection element according to the invention may be those described in claims 2 to 17.
  • the invention further relates to an electrical apparatus as described in claims 18 and 19.
  • an electrical connection element 10 which advantageously constitutes an electrical terminal of an electrical device such as a socket or any switch. It makes it possible to connect at least one electric wire 1, 2, 1A, 2A, 3A coming from the network to an electric component of said apparatus for its power supply.
  • Each electric wire 1, 2, 1A, 2A, 3A shown in the figures 4 to 11 and 30 to 32 comprises a conductive core 3, 4, 1B, 2B, 3B surrounded by an insulating sheath 5, 6, 1C, 2C, 3C.
  • This electrical connection element 10; 110; 210; 310; 410 has a first slot 11; 111; 211; 311; 411 introducing at least a first electric wire 1; 1A isolated.

  • cutting edge is used here to mean an edge delimiting the slot of the connection element which is adapted to pass through the insulating sheath 5, 6; 1C, 2C, 3C of electric wire 1, 2; 1A, 2A, 3A to reach the conductive core 3, 4; 1B, 2B, 3B of this electric wire 1, 2; 1A, 2A, 3A.
  • the cutting edge of the slot 11; 411 has cutouts 13; 413 which tear the insulating sheath 5 of the electric wire 1 as it passes through the slot, as explained below.
  • connection element 110; 210; 310 represented on figures 12 to 26 , the thickness itself of the cutting edge is thin enough to tear the insulating sheath, even in the absence of such cuts.
  • the cutting edge can then be obtained by a striking process: the cutting edge is crushed so as to refine its thickness and facilitate tearing or cutting of the insulating sheath 5, 6.
  • the cutting edge delimiting this first slot 11; 411 is thus adapted to pierce the insulating sheath 5, 1C of the first electric wire 1 when it is introduced into this first slot 11; 411 so as to come into contact with the conductive core 3; 1B in order to establish an electrical contact between the latter and said electrical connection element.

  • the fourth embodiment it is the rear part 331B of the support branch 331 which extends parallel to the functional branch 332, on the same side of the base 331A as this functional branch 332, and thus forms an obstacle preventing the passage of the electric wire through the connection element when it is inserted into one of the slots of this connection element.
  • the introduction of the second electric wire 2 is done in a similar manner.
  • the central part of the element electrical connection is made of a material having high electrical conductivity, which is economical.
  • the peripheral part of the electrical connection element is made of a material different from that of the central part, it is possible to improve the reliability of the electrical connection element by using, for this peripheral part, a less good conductor material, but having mechanical qualities ensuring effective clamping of the electric wire between the edges of the corresponding slot.
  • the lateral wings of the peripheral part may not be parallel to each other at rest, that is to say in the absence of an electric wire inserted into the connection element.
