Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an electrical connection kit, in particular for a motor vehicle.
  • Electrical connection kits are known from the prior art, making it possible to perform an electrical branch between two electrical conductors each comprising a conductive core coated with an insulating sheath.
  • kits generally comprise a connection box comprising a first part and a second part which can be folded over one another.
  • the first part is provided with a receiving groove extending in a longitudinal direction and intended to receive the first electrical conductor.
  • the receiving groove is provided with a blade of electrically conductive material, which extends in a direction transverse to the longitudinal direction in which the groove extends.
  • the first conductor is placed in the receiving groove of the first part of the housing, then the second conductor is connected to the blade using complementary means comprising a first contact integral with the blade. and a second contact formed by a terminal connected to the second conductor. Then, the second part forming a cover is folded over the first part using a tightening tool which clamps the first and the second part against each other, which causes the sheath of the second conductor to be sectioned by the blade by a guillotine effect.
  • the electrical connection between the cores of the two conductors is thus made by means of the blade.
  • a disadvantage of such a kit is that when tightening the two parts of the housing using the tool, the blade intended to cut the sheath of the first conductor sometimes undesirably cuts part of the core, this which tends to damage it.
  • Another disadvantage of this kit is that it requires the use of a tool to achieve the guillotine effect.
  • Patent applications WO 2008 036 032 A , US 2015 207 240 A and US 2014 273 606 A describe an electrical connection kit.
  • the object of the invention is therefore to provide an electrical connection kit making it possible to make an electrical connection between two electrical conductors each comprising a core surrounded by a sheath while limiting the damage to their cores, and which does not require any particular tool.
  • the invention relates to an electrical connection kit for a first electrical conductor according to claim 1.
  • the kit includes a connection terminal to be connected to the second conductor, and that this terminal is provided with a plurality of teeth aligned parallel to the longitudinal direction of the receiving groove once the latter is housed in the housing of reception, it is possible to make a connection between the two electrical conductors while limiting the damage to the core of the first conductor.
  • the teeth of the terminal punctually pierce the sheath of the first conductor and come into contact with the core.
  • the pressure exerted by the hand of an operator is sufficient to pierce the sheath of the first conductor.
  • Another advantage of the electrical connection kit according to the invention is that it does not require the use of any tool. Indeed, the force required to pierce with the teeth the sheath of the first conductor by folding the two parts of the housing on one another, is considerably reduced compared to that necessary to cut this sheath using of a blade. It is therefore possible to make the connection with a simple wave of the hand.
  • the first part or the second part comprises orifices at each of their ends, the receiving groove being interposed longitudinally between these orifices so that the arrangement of these orifices allows the passage of the first driver.
  • the first part and the second part are integrally formed with each other and articulated together by a thinning of material.
  • the first part of the connection box comprises a support stop, configured to prevent the movement of the connection terminal along an axis normal to a bottom of the connection box, towards the bottom of the box, the support stop projecting from the first part.
  • the second part of the connection box comprises a tightening stop projecting from the second part disposed opposite the receiving groove.
  • connection box comprises a third part carrying the support housing, configured to be inserted into the first part and held in the first part by locking means .
  • the support housing is formed by a slot made in the third part and the bottom of the first part.
  • the locking means comprise a plurality of locking tabs carried by the third part.
  • the third part is centered in the first part by centering means, the centering means comprising for example a plurality of locking tabs carried by the third part.
  • the third part carries the receiving groove.
  • the third part includes a through insertion hole allowing the insertion of the connection lug.
  • the housing can be molded in one piece, the first part and the third part are integrally formed with each other and articulated together by a thinning of material.
  • the invention also relates to an electrical connection assembly comprising an electrical conductor comprising a core coated with a sheath, characterized in that it further comprises an electrical connection kit according to the invention, in which the connection lug is crimped onto a stripped end of the core of the electrical conductor and the connection lug is inserted into the support housing .
  • the housing comprising three parts, after having housed the connection terminal in the support housing and before having folded the second part of the housing over the first part of the housing, the third part of the housing is inserted into the housing. first part of the case.
