This way the knife 39 has a cross shaped cross section, which is aligned with the respective cross shaped passages 8 through the seats 6.
  • the knife 39 is stationary and is fixed to a frame of the apparatus 1 at the other side of the transport belt 5.

  • the apparatus 1 has two angled profiles 44 in the same arrangement as the two angled profiles 26 at the front side of the apparatus 1.
  • the angled profiles 44 at the rear side comprise two opposite cams 46 engaging the wheels 19 of the seats 6 as they pass. This pivots the centering arms 12 into the release position releasing the respective potatoes 2 which fall down into a collection unit or discharge conveyer (not shown). This way the potatoes 2 fall only from a limited height without being damaged.

  • the distance between the supports 49 corresponds to the distance between the seats 6 of the apparatus 1.
  • the up-going part of the chain conveyer 51 faces the up-going part of the apparatus 1, such that the supports 49 are next to the upper part of the seats 6.
  • the supports 6 are tilted under the command of a control unit (not shown). The distance between the supports 49 and the seats 6 is such that tilting the support 49 makes the potato 2 slide onto the seat 6, as shown in more detail in Figure 7 .

Claims (9)

  1. Appareil (1) pour découper des produits végétaux (2) tels que des tubercules, par exemple des pommes de terre, en deux parties ou plus, l'appareil comprenant :
    - au moins un siège cupuliforme (6) mobile pour maintenir le produit à découper, le siège comprenant un passage (8),
    - un couteau (39) et
    - des moyens d'entraînement (5) pour tirer le siège le long d'un chemin croisé par le couteau tandis que le couteau traverse le passage dans le siège,
    dans lequel au niveau de la position du couteau le chemin s'étend le long d'une ligne droite s'étendant dans une direction parallèle au couteau
    dans lequel le siège (6) comprend au moins deux bras de centrage (12) agencés de manière opposée pour être en prise de manière élastique avec les côtés opposés d'un produit à découper
    caractérisé en ce que le couteau (39) est fixe et comprend au moins deux lames de couteaux (41, 42) se croisant, le passage dans le siège présentant une forme de croix s'appariant, dans lequel le centre du passage en forme de croix coïncide avec le centre du siège (6).
  2. Appareil selon la revendication 1, dans lequel les moyens d'entraînement (5) comprennent un transporteur à courroie ou transporteur à chaînes.
  3. Appareil selon la revendication 2, dans lequel les bras de centrage (12) sont mobiles entre une position de centrage et une position de libération, et dans lequel les bras de centrage sont sollicités de manière élastique en direction de la position de centrage.
  4. Appareil selon la revendication 3, dans lequel les bras de centrage (12) peuvent pivoter autour d'un axe de pivot entre ladite position de centrage et ladite position de libération.
  5. Appareil selon la revendication 3 ou 4, dans lequel les bras de centrage (12) sont sollicités en direction de la position de centrage par des ressorts (21) respectifs.
  6. Appareil selon la revendication 3, 4, ou 5, comprenant une ou plusieurs cames (31) en prise avec les bras de centrage à mesure qu'ils passent par les cames pour déplacer les bras de centrage (12) à partir de la position de centrage dans la position de libération avant que le siège (6) ne passe par le couteau (39).
  7. Appareil selon la revendication 6 dans lequel les cames (31) sont agencées pour pousser une extrémité arrière d'un bras de centrage (12) pour le faire pivoter dans la position de libération à rencontre de l'action d'un ressort de sollicitation (21).
  8. Appareil selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes dans lequel les moyens d'entraînement comprennent un transporteur (5) acheminant une pluralité de sièges (6) alignés.
  9. Appareil selon la revendication 6 ou 7 et 8, dans lequel le transporteur comprend une partie d'évacuation dans laquelle les sièges (6) suivent un chemin descendant, l'appareil comprenant d'autres cames au niveau de la partie d'évacuation du transporteur pour déplacer temporairement les bras de centrage (12) à partir de la position de centrage dans la position de libération.
