Description

The invention relates to a packaging of abrasive products in a bundle of several sheets or components, one side of which carries abrasive grains and in which the components of the bundle are joined by an envelope. The sheets of abrasive products are traditionally presented for sale by forming a bundle which is arranged in an organized packaging so that all or part of the face carrying the abrasive grains of the first sheet are visible and that the means joining the sheets of the bundle give indications on the composition, the destination, the size of the grains or the particular use of the sheets of the bundle, so that, at a glance, the buyer, can identify the bundle corresponding to his need .

In general, each bundle is packaged in an envelope which, surrounding it totally or partially, is printed, shaped and arranged around the bundle. Even when this packaging is made by a printed cardboard sheet, at least one edge is folded down on the package, it adds an additional cost to the package and is a waste unnecessary.

The document WO95 / 18755A discloses a packaging of abrasive products according to the preamble of claim 1. The object of the present invention is to overcome these disadvantages by reducing packaging costs without generating waste that can not be used.

For this purpose, in the packaging according to the invention, the envelope for holding the components of the bundle is constituted by the abrasive sheet forming the underside of the bundle, said sheet having at least one dimension greater than that of the other components of the bundle, so that its parts protruding from these components form flaps which, after folding on the components of the bundle, by its ends and / or its sides, on the one hand, reveal the central part of the bundle and, on the other hand, have in view the face not provided with abrasive grains, this face having indications on the composition, the destination, the size of the grains or the particular use of the sheets of the package.

Such packaging has the advantage of limiting printing costs to the dorsal zone and the flaps of the wrapping sheet. of the bundle, while allowing to use this sheet, in the same way than those of the bundle or in addition, for example for manual finishes.

This packaging is applicable to abrasive products in independent sheets in one of the following formats: rectangular, square, circular, or triangular with straight or lobed edges.

In an embodiment for receiving a bundle formed by non-rectangular abrasive components, such as abrasive discs, square or triangular abrasive papers with straight or lobed edges, the envelope for holding a pack of abrasive components has a general rectangular format and comprises at least two transverse flaps bound to the bottom of the sheet forming the envelope by lateral connecting means, such as staples or adhesive tape, releasing the central part forming under the flaps suitable pockets to receive and to pinch the rounded edges of the components of the bundle.

Advantageously, the indications on the face not provided with abrasive grains flaps include pictograms and drawings of recommendations on the use of packaged sheets.

In the embodiments shown, each bundle 2 is composed of several components and in particular independent sheets 3, paper or canvas, one side 3a carries abrasive grains 4 bonded to it by gluing.

In known manner, the dimensions and size of the individual sheets 3 are determined by the use of the abrasive, for example manual use or with power tools. Likewise, it is the nature and hardness of the material to be abraded or sanded, such as hard or soft metal, wood, brick, plaster, or paint, and the quality of the work to be done, such as very coarse, coarse medium, fine or extra fine, which determine the particle size and the nature of the grains, as well as the adhesive power of the glue binding the grains to the sheet.

In the description that follows the term "bundle" means a stack of abrasive paper components having the same shapes and sizes.

According to the invention, the components 3 constituting the bundle 2, in this case abrasive sheets, are associated with a sheet 5 differing from the bundle by the format, that is to say having at least one larger dimension than that of the components of this bundle. In the realization of Figures 1 to 4 , the sheet 5 has at each of its two longitudinal ends extensions 5a and 5b beyond the ends of the bundle 2 and thus forming two foldable transverse flaps.

The sheet 5 and its shutters are thus covered on one side by the abrasive, as shown figure 2 while, as shown in figure 3 at least the flaps 5a and 5b have on their backs, therefore on their side 5c not provided with abrasive grains, indications 6 relating to the composition, the destination, the size of the grains or the particular use of the sheets of the package.

The figure 4 shows that, to form the packaging, simply fold the flaps 5a and 5b on the face 3a of the top sheet of the 2, then fix these shutters by staples 7, or by any other means such as sections of tape.

After using the components of the package, the sheet constituting the envelope is also used for sanding, as is for manual work or, after formatting by tearing flaps, for example for cooperation with sanding means, manual or motorized .

It follows from the foregoing that this packaging is inexpensive to achieve, especially since, excluding print shutters, all its components are usable, which is not the case with competing packaging.

The figure 4 shows that the two flaps 5a and 5b, which may have equal lengths, or different as shown, are designed to clear the central part of the package so that the consumer can see and touch the abrasive, as he took the habit with current packaging.

In the variant embodiment of figure 5 , the flaps 8a and 8b are formed longitudinally on the side portions of the sheet 5 from below. When they are folded down and fixed by staples 9 or adhesive tapes, these shutters reveal the central part provided with grains of the bundle, but have in view their faces not provided with abrasive grains and carrying indications 6 of identification of the sheets abrasives and their grains.

Preferably, after formation of the packaging by folding and stapling of the flaps 5a, 5b or 8a, 8b, at least one of the ends of this packaging is subjected to a punching operation to achieve a through notch 10 of suspension on a display .

To the figure 6 the extensions 5a and 5b of the abrasive sheet 5 forming the underside of the bundle are longer than in the previous embodiments, to form, after folding on the bundle, marginal spaces 12, which may, for example, be used to placing the staples 7 or positioning the notch 10 of suspension. Thus, the sheets of the bundle 2 are not damaged by the staples, and remain held by pinching between the bottom of the sheet 5 and its extensions 5a and 5b forming shutters.

For safety, the staples arranged next to the notch 10, bind by one leg the abrasive sheets of the bundle 2, the bottom and the flap 5a of the sheet 5.

To the figure 7 it is the extensions 8a and 8b of the abrasive sheet 5 which, when they are folded down on the bundle, form lateral spaces 13 arranged laterally. In addition, the length of the sheet 5 is greater than that of the bundle 2 to form, at the upper end of the bundle 2, a ring 14 receiving the notch 10 of suspension and delimiting an upper zone that can be used to staples 17.

The packaging is formed by a rectangular abrasive sheet 5 larger than the diameter of the discs 20 and having extensions 5a and 5b forming folding transverse flaps. The figure shows that these flaps 5a and 5b extend over the bundle 22 to form with connecting means, such as staples 17 or sections of adhesive tape, two pockets 23 for holding the bundle 20 of disks 22.

Claims (5)

1. Packaging of abrasive products into a bundle (2) of a plurality of sheets or components (3), each of which has a face (3a) carrying abrasive grains (4), the components of the bundle in the packaging being united by a casing;
   said packaging being characterized in that the casing for holding together the components (3) of the bundle is constituted by the abrasive sheet (5) that forms the bottom of the bundle, said sheet having at least one dimension that is greater than the corresponding dimension of the other components, so that its portions (5a and 5b, or 8a and 8b) that protrude from its ends and/or its sides beyond those components form flaps that, after being folded on the components (3) of the bundle, leave the central portion of the bundle visible, and that leave their faces that are not provided with abrasive grains on view, those faces bearing indications (6) about the composition, the purposes, grain size, or the specific use of the sheets of the bundle.
