Abstract

The protector has small pockets (6, 7), each closed on three edges, and articulated by a bend line, parallel to a band (3), on a cover part (1) and/or a back part (2). Description

The present invention relates to a new notebook guard. It relates more particularly to an improved notebook cover adapted to be used possibly as a desk pad regardless of any notebook.

For the purposes of the present invention, the term "notebook cover" means an article intended to protect not only books themselves, but also books, magazines, or any other similar document.

Historically, schoolbooks have been protected from dirt by a book-cover, usually in a more rigid material than the cover pages of the notebook, which could be temporarily attached to the cover page of the notebook and the last one. page of this one, by engaging the corners of these pages in correspondingly shaped portions of the notebook cover.

More frequently, it has also equipped the cover portion of the cover and the rear portion thereof, parts folded against them, towards the inside of the notebook, and secured by gluing or welding against their inner face to define a flap for introducing between the latter and the associated portion of the notebook cover the cover page or the last page of the notebook.

The latter type of notebook protector is still a great success with users, because it can be made of a semi-rigid plastic material, transparent or semi-opaque, which reveals the notebook itself and can be various shades, at the choice of the user.

Often, the users of these notebooks wish however to be able to join to them various documents in sheets which are easily accessible, and it has consequently been proposed to house these documents in the internal flaps of the book cover, but they overflow then these flaps and may escape them.

It has also been envisaged, for the same purpose, to make the cover page of these notebooks in the form of a pocket for receiving these documents, but in this case, no longer distinguishes the cover page of the notebook which is hidden from view by these documents. FR-A-1,147,855 shows such a notebook protector.

The present invention aims to remedy these disadvantages by providing a notebook protector of any material, but preferably of a transparent or semi-transparent plastic, colored or not, equipped with the usual flaps intended to receive respectively the front page and the last page of the notebook, but in which a pouch adapted to receive documents other than the notebook is secured to the cover portion of the notebook cover and / or the rear portion thereof and is articulated on this part so as to be folded towards its inner face, in forming a bookmark for the notebook, when the notebook pad is used.

The invention therefore relates to an improved notebook cover comprising a cover portion and a rear portion hinged together by a line or a folding band corresponding to the back of the notebook, each of these parts being equipped with an applied flap against the face of this page to be turned to the notebook, this flap having a width less than that of the corresponding page and being secured thereto at both ends by a welding line or bonding perpendicular to the area of folding the notebook guard, the edge of this flap parallel to the folding line of the booklet cover being free, so as to be able to introduce under the flap the cover page of the associated booklet or the last page thereof, this booklet protector being characterized in that a portion forming a pouch, closed on three of its sides, is articulated by a fold line parallel to the line or folding band of the cover notebook on the cover portion thereof and / or on its rear part, this pouch being open on its opposite side to that by which it is articulated on the corresponding part of the notebook protector, so as to receive one or more documents distinct from the notebook, this cover can also be engaged by the user between pages of the notebook, so as to serve as a bookmark.

Usually, the cover and back portions of the cover, the flaps thereof and the sleeves forming a bookmark, have a rectangular shape.

The booklet protector according to the invention is preferably made of a transparent or semi-transparent plastic material, making it possible to distinguish from the outside the cover page or the last page of the notebook.

The pouch portions may, in particular, receive blank flying sheets, that the student or the schoolboy using this folder can thus use to take notes outside the notebook itself.

Preferably, the back of the book cover constituted by the portion serving as a hinge between the cover page thereof and the opposite page has a thickness greater than the rest of the book cover, so as to have a greater resistance mechanical. In the case, for example, of a polyvinyl chloride booklet protector, this part may also have a thickness twice that of the adjoining parts of the book cover.

The internal flaps intended to receive the cover page and the last page of the notebook may advantageously have a width greater than that of the flaps of the usual booklet protectors, that is to say at least equal to 35% of the width of the cover. cover page of the notebook, to ensure a perfect hold in position of it.

The bookmark pouches preferably have dimensions substantially equal to those of the parts of the book cover on which they are hinged, possibly with a width slightly less than the width of these parts.

It will be noted that the booklet protector according to the invention can be used as a desk pad, independently of any notebook, the flaps and the pockets which it is equipped with then being able to receive various documents. This use of the notebook guard is another object of the present invention.

In the example illustrated by the drawings, the booklet protector is made of a semi-rigid and transparent plastic material, colored or not, but it could naturally be made of any other material.

This notebook cover has two identical rectangular parts, one cover 1 and the other forming the rear portion 2, articulated together along one of their longitudinal edges by a band 3 of greater thickness, intended to strengthen the part forming back of this notebook protector.

In a manner known per se, each of the parts 1 and 2 is equipped on its face intended to be turned towards the associated notebook of a flap portion 4, respectively 5, welded against the corresponding face of this part 1 or 2 along the longitudinal edge thereof parallel to the portion 3 of the notebook guard and along its transverse edges. The other edge of the flap 4, 5, is free, to allow to introduce below it the cover page of the notebook or its last page. Preferably, the parts 4 and 5 forming flaps have a width greater than that of the usual flaps of the prior art booklet protectors, so as to hold securely in position the notebook provided with this folder. The width of these parts 4 and 5 will generally be at least 35% of the width of the cover page of the notebook.

According to the invention, two rectangular pockets 6 and 7, intended to receive documents or flying sheets other than the notebook itself, are articulated by a fold line along the edge of the longitudinal portion of each of the parts 1 and 2 The pouch 6 and 7 are closed by welding along this edge and along their two lateral edges, the fourth edge being open so as to be able to easily introduce inside the documents that the we want to stay there.

As discussed above, these pouches, containing or not one or documents, can be folded between pages of the notebook equipped with this notebook, so as to serve as bookmark of a notebook 8 for 'user.

As also indicated above, the empty copybook pad can be used as a desk pad and receive various documents in sheets in flaps 4 and 5 and in folded pockets 6 and 7. against Parts 1 and 2.

This booklet protector may be marketed with a label (not shown in the drawings) intended to receive the user's name, and the cover page of the booklet protector may include a marking (also not shown) indicating the location where this label can be glued.

It will be noted that, unlike certain booklet protectors known in the art, the cover portion of which is constituted by a pouch able to receive documents, the part 1 of the cover of the booklet protector according to the invention reveals, if it is transparent, the cover page of the notebook and the inscriptions it may contain, even if it contains documents.

Claims (5)

1. A book cover comprising a covering part (1) and a rear part (2), which are articulated to one another by a folding line or strip (3) corresponding to the back of the book, each of these parts (1,2) being provided with a flap (4,5) applied against the surface of the page to be turned towards the book, said flap being of a width which is less than that of the corresponding page and being attached thereto at its two ends by a weld or gluing line perpendicular to the folding line or strip of the book cover, the edge of this flap parallel to the folding line or strip of the book cover being free so that it is possible to insert under the flap the flyleaf of the associated book or the last page thereof, said book cover being characterised in that a part (6,7), which forms a pocket and is closed on three of its sides, is articulated by a folding line parallel to the folding line or strip (3) of the book cover on the covering part thereof and/or on its rear part, said pocket (6,7) being open along its side opposite the one by which it is articulated on the corresponding part (1,2) of the book cover so as to be able to receive a document or separate documents of the book (8), it further being possible for said pocket to be inserted by the user between pages of the book so as to form a bookmark.
2. A book cover according to claim 1, characterised in that the pockets (6,7) are of a shape and dimensions substantially analogous to those of the adjoining parts (1,2) of the book cover, their width optionally being slightly smaller than that of these adjoining parts.
3. A book cover according to either claim 1 or claim 2, characterised in that the folding strip (3) is of greater thickness than that of the adjacent parts (1) and (2).
4. A book cover according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the flaps (4,5) are of a width at least equal to 35 % of the width of the cover page of the book for which this book cover is intended.
5. Use as a folder of a book cover according to any one of claims 1 to 4, independently of any book.
